Eileen Gu, who earned a gold medal in freestyle skiing at the 2026 Winter Olympics, has reportedly upset her wealthy San Francisco neighbors.
Eileen, 22, and her family are accused of discarding a large pile of furniture and household items on the sidewalk of her California home. According to a Wednesday, June 10 report from the New York Post, the trash pile included a couch, mattress, broken furniture, books, clothing and other household items.
Neighbors filed a complaint to the city on Monday, June 8, alleging that the garbage "obscured a fire hydrant from view," the outlet reported.
When a neighbor reached out to Eileen's mother, Yan Gu, she claimed she had placed the items neatly on the curb around 1 a.m., packed into 20 boxes and covered in case of rain, according to SF Standard. However, the complaint to the city was sent in around 8 p.m. on Monday evening.
Yan added that either "vicious people" or scavengers must have strewn the items haphazardly. She also claimed that someone pulled out a shirt with Eileen's name on it, calling it a "malicious act."

Olympic skier Eileen Gu's lavish family home in San Francisco is reportedly at the center of a bitter neighborhood dispute that stretches back more than 10 years and has seen multiple complaints filed against the gold medalist's family over everything from sewage problems to unsightly garbage piles.
Gu, 22, who competes for China, spent much of her childhood living in a luxury mansion in the upscale neighborhood of Sea Cliff, where her mother purchased a four-bedroom property for $1.84 million in 2010, when the skier was 7 years old.
Despite boasting a net worth of more than $23 million, Gu—who claimed one gold and two silver medals at the 2026 Winter Olympics—is not thought to have ever purchased her own property, instead continuing to reside with her mother at the Sea Cliff mansion, when she is not traveling the world for work.
But that same home is now at the center of a rather ugly neighborhood battle, according to a new report by The San Francisco Standard, which alleges that the latest twist in the Sea Cliff spat involves an unsightly pile of garbage that was left piled up outside the property on June 8.
According to the outlet, "an enormous pile of trash and furniture" was dumped on the sidewalk outside the property, which was originally built in 1925 and is now worth $5 million, with images published by The Standard capturing a haphazard collection of old shelves, a couch, a mattress, what appears to be a disused suitcase, and cardboard boxes filled with abandoned clothing, books, and other detritus in front of the Gu residence.

President Donald Trump has repeatedly boasted about being in office for three major U.S. events: America 250, the 2028 Summer Olympics and the World Cup. One of them starts June 11.
The US, Mexico and Canada are co-hosting the 2026 Men's World Cup after winning the bid under Trump's first presidency.
Trump has been to several sporting events as president, including a FIFA Club World Cup final on July 13, where he went viral for celebrating on stage with the winning team. FIFA president Gianni Infantino is also a key Trump ally. He gave Trump an inaugural FIFA Peace Prize in December, before the US and Israel attacked Iran.
Will Trump be in attendance at the World Cup games? Here is what we know.

OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, is jumping into the mega-IPO stock-trading race, filing a confidential S-1 with the Securities and Exchange Commission. With **** eX at bat for a Friday opening and Anthropic on deck, OpenAI is in the queue but has not set a date for its debut.
"We have not decided on timing yet; it may be a while because there are things we want to do that are likely easier as a private company," OpenAI said in a statement posted on its website. "But it's a complicated set of trade-offs, and this gives us the option to go public sooner if that ends up being best."
It may feel as if OpenAI burst onto the tech scene overnight, but the company's roots as a nonprofit date back to 2015, when it introduced itself as an artificial intelligence research company. It aimed to "advance digital intelligence in the way that is most likely to benefit humanity as a whole, unconstrained by a need to generate financial return."
Recently valued at roughly $852 billion and potentially seeking a public valuation of $1 trillion or more, a publicly traded OpenAI would likely face pressure from investors to deliver strong financial returns.

We just covered the Top 10 Stock Picks of 10 Famous Billionaires. Green Brick Partners (NYSE:GRBK) ranks #10 (see Top 5 Stock Picks of 5 Famous Billionaires).
Number of Hedge Funds: 18
Top Pick Of: David Einhorn — Greenlight Capital
Green Brick Partners (NYSE:GRBK) is the biggest holding of billionaire David Einhorn. For investors looking for exposure outside of AI, it is worth a look. The company builds and sells single-family homes across the U.S.
The stock is up about 15% so far this year. It got a further lift recently after U.S. lawmakers advanced a revised housing bill that restricts institutional investors from buying single-family homes. That is seen as a positive for traditional homebuilders because it reduces competition for available inventory and keeps more homes accessible to individual buyers, the core customer base for companies like Green Brick.

We just covered Forget AI: Legendary Value Investor Seth Klarman Is Buying These 10 Value Stocks in 2026. Elevance Health (NYSE:ELV) ranks #3 (see Seth Klarman Is Buying These 5 Value Stocks in 2026).
Baupost's Stake: $373,301,000
Elevance Health (NYSE:ELV) is a key holding in Klarman's portfolio. It is one of the largest health insurers in the US, serving 45.4 million members. The stock has been hammered by rising healthcare costs, disappointing government payment rates, and regulatory pressure. But the recovery appears to be gaining traction. In Q1 2026, revenue and EPS showed growth and the benefit expense ratio — which measures claims costs against premium income — improved to 86.8%, down from 90% in 2025.
A key regulatory cloud also lifted. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services raised its 2027 Medicare Advantage payment rate to levels better than the market expected.
Management responded by raising full-year 2026 adjusted EPS guidance.

We just covered Forget AI: Legendary Value Investor Seth Klarman Is Buying These 10 Value Stocks in 2026. Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NYSE:NCLH) ranks #9 (see Seth Klarman Is Buying These 5 Value Stocks in 2026).
Baupost's Stake: $67,881,000
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NYSE:NCLH) trades at roughly 9x EV/EBITDA and less than 10x forward earnings. This shows a discount to peers like Royal Caribbean and Carnival, which trade at higher multiples.
In Q1 2026, NCLH returned to profitability with revenue of $2.33 billion and net income of $104.67 million versus a loss a year earlier. Occupancy is expected to exceed 104% in 2026, and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings' (NYSE:NCLH) luxury brands continue to see healthy demand. Broader cruise bookings are holding up well across the industry.
The debt load has been the biggest concern hanging over the stock. But most of that debt does not mature until 2030, giving management several years to improve cash flow and reduce leverage. Capital spending is also expected to decline significantly after 2027, potentially freeing up nearly $1 billion annually for debt reduction.

We just covered Forget AI: Legendary Value Investor Seth Klarman Is Buying These 10 Value Stocks in 2026. Molina Healthcare (NYSE:MOH) ranks #8 (see Seth Klarman Is Buying These 5 Value Stocks in 2026).Baupost's Stake: $84,460,000Molina Healthcare (NYSE:MOH) is a managed care company focused on government-sponsored health programs — Medicaid, Medicare, and the ACA Marketplace. Its moat lies in long-standing state government contracts, deep expertise serving low-income populations, and an infrastructure built specifically around Medicaid managed care. The stock has been hammered amid Medicaid rate adjustments and elevated medical costs. But bulls argue this is a cyclical trough, not a structural problem. Medicaid managed care has a well-documented cycle — costs overshoot state reimbursement rates, companies take losses, states adjust rates higher, and margins recover. Molina Healthcare's (NYSE:MOH) CEO has explicitly called 2026 the margin trough.Q1 2026 provided the first hard evidence of recovery. Adjusted EPS came in at $2.35, crushing the $1.29 consensus, sending the stock up 15% in a day. Bank of America issued a rare double upgrade to Buy, lifting its price target to $250 and projecting EPS could reach $30 by 2029 — nearly twice the Street consensus of $17.32.

A hot inflation reading for May released Wednesday morning reinforces that the Federal Reserve will maintain interest rates next week. Rates will likely remain on hold until there's evidence that inflation is receding.
The Consumer Price Index rose 4.2% in May, in line with expectations, compared with 3.8% in April. The increase was again driven by energy prices due to the conflict in the Middle East, which accounted for 60% of the rise in inflation. Food and shelter prices also pushed up inflation last month.
Stripping out volatile energy and food prices, "core" inflation ticked up to 2.9% from 2.8% in April, also in line with expectations. Month over month, core inflation rose 0.2%, below expectations for a rise of 0.3% and down from 0.4% in April.
Officials are closely watching whether higher energy prices are becoming embedded in core inflation. So far, core prices have not jumped at the same level as energy prices. Still, core inflation ticked up and is roughly a full percentage point above the Fed's 2% inflation goal.

Cracker Barrel stock is up about 12% ahead of Wednesday's open. (Eric Glenn/Shutterstock)
Shares of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store (CBRL) soared 30% on Wednesday morning, amid ******* yst price target hikes. An upgrade to overweight from UBS pointed out that the shares were heavily shorted.
Shares of Cracker Barrel had already advanced about 8% on Monday and Tuesday. The stock is now up about 40% this week, according to MarketSurge.
About 27% of the float is currently held short, according to MarketSurge. Generally speaking, a short interest of about 10% is typically viewed as elevated. Anything above 20% is considered extremely high. When traders short a stock they are betting the price will fall. However, if it starts to rise short sellers are forced to buy more of the stock to cover their impending losses. Those forced purchases place added upward pressure on the price.
Shorts against Cracker Barrel have increased by 3.6%, meaning it would now require about 5.8 days of the stock's average trading volume for short sellers to buy back all their shares. The meme stock crowd had not yet picked up on the action, with Cracker Barrel not registering among the top 50 stocks trending early Wednesday on the Ape Wisdom stock list.

Inflation is once again outrunning wage growth and that’s creating a problem for anyone sitting on cash.
The inflation rate climbed 0.6% in April, pushing the annual rate up to 3.8%, a three-year high (1). And consumer prices rose 3.8% year over year while inflation-adjusted hourly wage growth came in at 3.6%, according to CNN (2). That means the purchasing power of many Americans is slipping, even as they continue to earn more on paper.

Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) has long been considered the industry standard for artificial intelligence (AI) computing stocks. Since 2023, it has been an amazing performer and has delivered strong, market-crushing returns for shareholders. However, 2026 hasn't been so kind.
Nvidia's stock is up about 12% this year, which isn't a bad return, but it's only beating the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) by a few percentage points (the index is up about 8% so far). Investors are used to much stronger double-digit percentage returns from Nvidia, leaving many investors disappointed in its 2026 results, especially when other stocks like Micron (NASDAQ: MU) and Sandisk (NASDAQ: SNDK) have crushed Nvidia and the market so far in 2026.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Micron is up 228% in 2026, while Sandisk is up nearly 600%. Those are returns that Nvidia investors can only dream about, but could that continue throughout 2026? Let's take a look.
Both Micron and Sandisk are involved in the memory chip sector. Although Micron makes both NAND and DRAM memory, Sandisk only makes NAND. NAND demand from an AI perspective mostly comes from solid-state drives (SSDs), which are used for long-term data storage in data centers. DRAM is used in computing chips as these devices need to rapidly pull from a memory bank to process computations quickly. Demand far outpaces supply for both memory chip types, causing prices to soar. This effect has led to a boom in both stocks, and that growth may not slow down for a while.

Gold August (GC=F) futures opened at $4,276.10 this morning, down 0.2% from Tuesday's closing price, and down 1.8% from Tuesday’s opening price. The price of gold is falling further this morning. As of 6:28 a.m. ET, the price of gold moved down to $4,183.80.
Gold prices are down significantly this morning following an exchange of military strikes by the U.S. and Iran overnight, and ahead of an important CPI report later this morning. The continued military action by both sides underscores how far both countries are from a peace agreement and from reopening the Strait of Hormuz. The longer the war in Iran continues, the longer the globe will go without a steady flow of oil and natural gas, and thus, the longer inflation will continue to plague prices in the U.S. and around the world.
We haven’t seen gold prices in the $4,100 range since March 23, and before that, not since December 2025.

LONDON, June 10 (Reuters) - Oil prices were steady on Wednesday, as renewed U.S.-Iran hostilities muddied direction and investors weighed lower Chinese demand with global inventory draws.
Brent futures were down 25 cents, or 0.23%, at $91.24 a barrel at 1008 GMT, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude was down 14 cents, or 0.16%, at $88.06 a barrel.
Prices earlier traded higher on renewed strikes by the United States and Iran, before retreating towards the previous session's close.
Global stock draws are underpinning prices, but lower Chinese crude oil imports are helping to keep a ceiling on prices, as is a limited flow of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, PVM analyst Tamas Varga said.

A retreat in US stock futures picked up pace on Wednesday in the wait for the latest inflation reading, as investors ***** sed the impact of US-Iran military clashes on odds for a peace plan.
Nasdaq 100 futures (NQ=F) led the pullback, down 1.2% as Tuesday's sell-off in tech stocks deepened. S&P 500 futures (ES=F) sank 0.8%, while those on the Dow Jones Industrial Average (YM=F) fell 0.7%.
Techs look set for another bruising as the rotation out of the AI trade continues, as concerns around OpenAI (OPAI.PVT) and Anthropic's (ANTH.PVT) mega-IPOs build.
Focus is now on the May's CPI report, which will add to the pressure on growth stocks if the consumer inflation reading comes in hot as expected.
The data, set for release at 8:30 a.m. ET, is forecast to show prices rose 4.2% since last May. That would be the hottest annual reading in over three years, and would likely boost bets on an interest-rate hike landing this year.

The data, set for release at 8:30 a.m. ET, is forecast to show prices rose 4.2% since last May. That would be the hottest annual reading in over three years, and would likely boost bets on an interest-rate hike landing this year.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to make a historic return to North America, taking place from June 11 to July 19 across Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
This edition will usher in a groundbreaking new tournament format, expanding from 32 to 48 participating teams.
The revamped format is designed to foster greater global inclusion, enabling 16 more nations to participate compared to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
For the first time, the group stage will comprise 12 groups of four teams each. This expansion will see the total number of matches soar to 104, a significant increase of 40 games from the previous edition.
With the addition of 16 teams, the path to the knockout stage has also evolved. The top two teams from each of the 12 groups, along with the eight best third-placed teams, will progress to the newly expanded round of 32. This format gives more nations a realistic shot at advancing deep into the tournament.

When ******* eX starts trading Friday, the biggest IPO in history will bring to life the market's latest elephant-sized stock. Should individual investors get into the trading frenzy?
Initial public offerings have a way of making investors dream they can buy a stock at the lowest prices ever. No doubt, interest is high for Elon Musk's satellite and rocket ship company, which is expected to raise about $75 billion. But some unusual or even unprecedented circumstances could magnify the usual volatility and risks that come with IPOs.
Russell indexes and the Nasdaq have cleared the way for ******* eX to be included in major indexes in as little as seven days from the IPO. In an amended prospectus, ******* eX (SPCX) said some pre-IPO shares will be offered to retail investors through Charles Schwab (SCHW), Fidelity, Robinhood (HOOD) and SoFi Technologies' (SOFI) brokerage.
At least two ETF firms plan to offer ******* eX leveraged funds. Leverage Shares ETFs announced on X an ETF that doubles the stock's daily price move. It will trade under the symbol SPCH. ProShares says it will launch an Ultra ******* eX ETF with the SPCF symbol.
Hyperliquid, a blockchain-based trading platform, quoted ******* eX shares at nearly 164 on Monday. That's 21% above the expected IPO price of 135. But the price has been falling this month and is well off the 230 peak on May 18. Hyperliquid's first ******* eX trades came the previous day.

AUBURN — Navy blue and burnt orange normally dominate the stands of Jordan-Hare Stadium. The No. 34 of legendary Bo Jackson or the No. 1 of Auburn football's last national championship quarterback Cam Newton are popular jerseys seen on Saturday game days.
That changed on Tuesday, June 9, when Auburn's school colors were traded for white and sky blue, and the No. 10 jersey was the clear favorite among the crowd. Whether it was illustrated in white with blue pinstripes, orange with black lettering or black with pink lettering, Lionel Messi and the Argentina World Cup team took over Jordan-Hare Stadium on the wet, weekday night.
The 38-year old reigning FIFA World Cup champion is one of the most decorated athletes in the sport of soccer and one of the more well-known sports personalities in the world.
His aura was felt when Messi took to the Pat Dye Field for the first time when Argentina began its warmups before Argentina's World Cup friendly vs. Iceland. Jordan-Hare erupted in cheers whenever Messi flashed on the jumbo screen in the north end zone, waving to those in attendance.
"He's a leader of their team, he's a leader of their nation, and he gave the crowd everything they hoped for," Iceland coach Arnar Gunnlaugsson said postgame. "Everybody came here to obviously see him play."

NEW DELHI: A heartwarming moment involving India captain Shubman Gill has gone viral following India's dominant victory over Afghanistan in the one-off Test at the New PCA Stadium in Mullanpur.
In a video that has been widely shared on social media, a young ball boy stationed near the boundary ropes was seen touching Gill's feet as the India skipper walked back to the pavilion after scoring a superb century.
Gill, who led from the front with a brilliant 126, acknowledged the youngster's gesture before continuing towards the dressing room. The touching interaction quickly became one of the standout moments of the match.
Manav Suthar steals the show on debut
While Gill's century and the viral video grabbed attention, the match ultimately belonged to debutant left-arm spinner Manav Suthar, who enjoyed a dream start to his Test career.

The Rajasthan spinner claimed seven wickets in the match, including a sensational 6/33 in Afghanistan's first innings, as India completed their biggest-ever victory in Test cricket by an innings and 300 runs.
After electing to bat, India posted a massive 564/8 declared. Alongside Gill's 126, KL Rahul scored 100, while Sai Sudharsan and Rishabh Pant contributed 81 each. Washington Sundar added the finishing touches with an unbeaten 52.
Afghanistan unable to recover
Afghanistan resumed Day 3 on 113/5 and were eventually bowled out for 152 despite a fighting 60 from Rahmat Shah. Suthar ripped through the lower order to register the second-best bowling figures by an Indian on Test debut.
Asked to follow on, Afghanistan showed some resistance through Abdul Malik and Sediqullah Atal, who added 42 runs for the opening wicket. Atal looked comfortable during his knock of 42, but India's bowlers gradually tightened their grip on the contest.
Mohammed Siraj provided the breakthrough before Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav joined the wicket-taking spree. Afghanistan slipped from 74/1 to 98/5 as Sundar removed Rahmat Shah, Hashmatullah Shahidi and Atal.
India complete historic win
The visitors never recovered from the collapse. Suthar added another wicket, Sundar finished with four wickets in the innings, and Kuldeep cleaned up the tail as Afghanistan were bowled out for 112.

Market ******* ysts are usually judged on their ability to call rate decisions or predict price movements, but with the world's biggest football tournament, the 2026 FIFA World Cup, getting underway this Thursday, one prominent investment research firm has turned its models on a rather different kind of ******* et: the beautiful game.
BCA Research, a Montreal-based investment research firm, has published its third edition of what it calls "The Most Important of All Unimportant Forecasts", using a proprietary two-step statistical model to predict the outcome of the tournament.
The verdict? France lifts the trophy after defeating Portugal in the final. England and Spain, the model says, go home in the semi-finals.
Unlike the armchair punditry that tends to dominate the pre-tournament conversation, BCA's approach is rooted in the same discipline the firm applies to sovereign debt and equity markets.
The exercise has been running since 2018, and it correctly predicted that France would win the 2018 final. Four years later, it called Argentina to win the 2022 ******* le in a penalty shootout, no small feat given the chaos of that tournament.
