Phil Parkinson is "probably" under pressure as Wrexham manager for the first time, according to former Wales striker Iwan Roberts.
Friday night's 2-1 home defeat by Birmingham left Wrexham winless and without a clean sheet in four matches across all competitions so far in 2026-27.
Roberts told BBC Radio Wales: "I think he [Parkinson] is probably under pressure for the first time since he's been at Wrexham.
"He's had some incredible success at the football club. I think he's quite stubborn in his way, in his tactics, he doesn't like to change, and I don't mind that because they have been so successful.
"But I've said it too many times, when you're chasing a game, you're behind with 15, 20 minutes to go, he still persists with the back three, instead of maybe trying something different, going to a back four and getting another body further forward."

Birmingham City beat Wrexham 2-1 at the Racecourse Ground, with centre-back Phil Neumann scoring twice to secure all three points.
Neumann opened the scoring from close range in the 13th minute before Callum Doyle levelled for Wrexham shortly after half-time. The hosts had started to build momentum at that stage, but Birmingham responded quickly and Neumann struck again in the 63rd minute, heading home August Priske's cross.
Wrexham pushed for another equaliser late on and Kieffer Moore forced James Beadle into a save, while Sam Smith also missed from close range. Birmingham, though, managed the final stages well enough to protect their lead and see out the win.

Being in the midst of a sports reality show really isn't what you'd expect it to be. But then again, "Welcome to Wrexham" isn't like any other sports reality show, so I shouldn't be too surprised by how things turned out.
I ***** umed it would be an experience marked by intrusive camera crews recording our mundanity, which a melodramatic editing process would twist until everybody on the show was an embarrassing meme. Instead, it must be said that the camera crews are positively lovely, accepted within both the club and the town as friends, not an unfortunate necessity.
Rather than create shock value, the show is remarkably good at selecting people and themes. It reflects what I experience, both as a fan of the club and a resident of Wrexham. To illustrate this, consider the one moment in all five seasons which I felt was inauthentic. It came early on, when Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds' representative, Humphrey Ker, endured a disastrous introduction to the players and manager, Dean Keates.

Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson expects Birmingham City to make changes to their team for their Championship game tonight (20:00 BST) after the Blues were hammered by Brentford in the EFL Cup in midweek.
Like Wrexham, the Blues have drawn both of their two Championship matches so far this season.
But Chris Davies' men were thrashed 6-1 by the Premier League Bees in the second round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday night - with the 41-year-old head coach receiving criticism of late.
Despite the noise surrounding Davies' position as Birmingham boss, Parkinson says the Red Dragons' sole focus will be on building from the positives of their 1-1 league draw with Watford last time out.

Cancer is serious. Ryan Reynolds is not. Luckily his characteristic sense of humor, along with being true to his word, has helped shine a light on a sobering topic in a fun way. First, he made a friendly bet with his Welcome to Wrexham co-star Rob McElhenney of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia with whom he also co-owns the Welsh football club Wrexham A.F.C.
The bet? That McElhenney would not be able to learn Welsh, the official language of Wales, where their soccer team is located. The stakes? If Reynolds lost, he'd have to get a colonoscopy… and post the entire thing to YouTube. About 30 seconds into a YouTube upload **** led "Rob & Ryan Lead From Behind," McElhenney begins speaking in near-fluent Welsh.
Uh-oh. Colonoscopy it is.
Reynolds is an actor famous for hilarious hijinks. From his intense fictional feud with Hugh Jackman to performing epic pranks on talk shows, he is often the best thing on the internet for a good laugh. However, he is also not one to shy away from difficult conversations, particularly when it comes to health. So raising awareness about the importance of colonoscopies was, as he quipped, "enough motivation for me to let you in on a camera being shoved up my **** ."
Reynolds might have lost the bet, but his actions paid off. The procedure turned out to be lifesaving.

Wrexham are poised to sign Issa Kabore on a permanent deal from Manchester City in addition to bringing in left-back Jacques Ekomie from French side Angers.
Burkina Faso international Kabore featured 32 times across all competitions for the Red Dragons in 2025-26.
