West Ham United have received a warning despite their emphatic 6-0 win over Wrexham, with former Championship striker Bradley Allen urging caution before winter. The comments, originally broadcast by BBC Radio London and covered by Inside Futbol, followed a performance that gave Nuno Espírito Santo's side a boost in the promotion race.
Six players scored, including captain Jarrod Bowen and Joel Piroe, while West Ham created 19 shots on goal and kept a clean sheet. Allen described the display as outstanding from start to finish and said West Ham possessed too much quality for Wrexham. Yet he stressed that bigger tests await, particularly as the winter schedule stacks fixtures together. His message was: West Ham can leave the Championship quickly, but the examination has not arrived.
Allen said on BBC Radio London: "What a performance, outstanding from start to finish, a clean sheet as well.
"Playing dominant football in front of a big crowd.
"That will put down a marker, but there will be bigger tests; we haven't got to the depths of winter.

Nuno Espirito Santo says the atmosphere at the London Stadium is a big advantage to West Ham after his team's thumping win over Wrexham.
A crowd of 59,712 watched the Hammers beat the Welsh side 6-0 as they returned to the top of the Championship.
Head coach Nuno said Friday's result was not any kind of statement or marker, but he did think playing in front of such a big crowd in the second tier was a plus for his players.
"We just focus on ourselves and realise London Stadium is a big strength that we have, to try to take advantage of 60,000 fans who give us so much that we have to try to give back," he told BBC Radio London.
The stadium atmosphere has come under scrutiny, with distance between the pitch and the stands being very different to the cramped, hostile surroundings of their old Upton Park ground.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson acknowledged the 6-0 loss to West Ham United is among the lowest points of his time at the club.
The visitors were outclassed by a West Ham side who were in rampant form at London Stadium.
Parkinson said everyone had to take ownership of the performance including himself.
"We're going to make sure we have that accountability as individuals and as staff – and we will do," Parkinson said.
"And we'll respond and we've got to put the ingredients back in place very quickly to put in a better performance than we did tonight.

"I don't think you can deny me much longer and I think people will see that soon."
Those are the confident words of Wrexham native Ieuan Davies who has his sights firmly fixed on the UFC.
And with the start he has made to his professional mixed martial arts career, there is no reason he should not feel confident.
The 30-year-old captured the Cage Warriors lightweight ***** le in sublime fashion in June as he stopped Omiel Brown in just 61 seconds with a rear naked choke.
It was the sixth submission victory of the Welshman's career and one he hopes caught UFC president Dana White's eye.

Swansea City head coach Vitor Matos has said his side must "take care" of their impressive defensive record as they aim to challenge for promotion.
Championship leaders Swansea have conceded just once across their first five games of the season, fewer than any other team in the English Football League (EFL).
A 0-0 draw against Wrexham means the Swans have managed four clean sheets in their first five league games for the first time since the 1978-79 season.
"It's good, but we know it can change quite quickly. We all know how the league is and how the results are," Matos said after Saturday's Welsh derby.
"That [defensive record] is something that we need to take care of, of course. It's important for us."

Callum O'Hare "can't wait" to make his home debut after a hectic welcome to Wrexham since completing his deadline-day move from Sheffield United.
The 28-year-old got up in the early hours on Tuesday morning to seal his switch to the Racecourse Ground before Wrexham's trip to Millwall.
O'Hare then raced to London on the train, arriving hours before kick-off to make the squad, but remained an unused sub as Wrexham won 3-0 at the Den.
Then came his first Welsh derby. He was thrust in from the start by Phil Parkinson, even though he had not yet trained with all of his new teammates.
And O'Hare very nearly capped off a whirlwind few days with his maiden Wrexham goal on debut at Swansea, but the former Coventry man dragged his chance wide.

Wrexham are hoping to emulate rivals Cardiff City by winning the domestic treble this season.
The Red Dragons made history in 2025-2026 by winning the Adran Premier for the first time, while also lifting the Adran Trophy.
But Cardiff's triumph over Swansea in the Welsh Cup denied Wrexham the coveted treble, something the Bluebirds achieved two years ago.
Wrexham ended the summer by becoming the first women's Welsh side to win in Europe for seven years, marking their Champions League debut with a 4-2 victory against FC Pyunik.
"[The treble] is definitely my goal and I think all the girls would agree," said Wrexham captain Jodie Bartle.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson says Swansea City captain Ben Cabango got away with a "leg-breaking challenge" in their Welsh derby stalemate.
Parkinson claimed the Wales defender should have been given a straight red for the lunge on midfielder Callum O'Hare late on in the match at the Swansea.com Stadium.
Cabango, who had come on as a second-half substitute, was booked for the foul that prompted an angry reaction from the visitors' bench.
O'Hare was replaced soon after as Swansea maintained their unbeaten start to the season to stay top of the early Championship table.
"I know we want to protect our players but, when someone flies in at that speed, that could have been a leg-breaking challenge," Parkinson said.

Vitor Matos says there is more to come from Swansea City after they moved a point clear at the top of the early-season Championship table thanks to a goalless draw with Wrexham.
Swansea were short of their best in possession but maintained their unbeaten start to the 2026-27 league campaign thanks to Lawrence Vigouroux's fourth successive clean sheet.
The Swans have taken 11 points from five second-tier games in what has been an encouraging start to the season.
But Matos believes there is progress to be made as his new-look squad contend with the packed Championship fixture list.
"I think being consistent is massive, keeping the desire is massive. Not getting frustrated when the game gets a little bit different from what we want is massive as well," the Swansea head coach said.

Both Millwall and Bolton Wanderers will be hoping to bounce back after two successive losses to pick up points at the Den on Saturday (15:00 BST).
The Lions got off to a fantastic start with two wins but have failed to keep up their momentum, while Bolton's losses have both come at the slim margin of just one goal.
Millwall have only won one of their last 11 league meetings with Bolton Wanderers (D4 L6), a 2-0 away win in April 2018.
Bolton are unbeaten in five league visits to Millwall (W2 D3) since a 2-1 defeat in October 2012, with this their first trip since a 1-1 draw in November 2018.
Millwall have lost 5-1 against Southampton and 3-0 against Wrexham in their last two league games. They last lost three in a row in December 2024, while they last did so by 3+ goals each time in May 1989 in the top-flight.

Roberto De Zerbi has omitted Richarlison from his Premier League squad for Tottenham Hotspur's upcoming season, while injured duo Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert have both been included.
Every Premier League club is required to register a 25-man squad comprising a maximum of 17 non-homegrown players and eight homegrown players. Spurs had one more non-homegrown player than permitted, forcing De Zerbi to drop someone from the roster.
Richarlison was informed he would not feature in De Zerbi's plans for the season prior to the Premier League transfer deadline, giving him the opportunity to depart the North London club once a suitable offer was received, according to football.london.

LONDON (AP) — Hugh Jackman wants to joins his fellow Hollywood star and friend Ryan Reynolds in owning part of a soccer club in the English leagues.
Jackman has long been a fan of Norwich, his mother's home city in the east of England. The Wolverine star was asked in an interview broadcast on Thursday if he would like to "buy a bit" of the club which is majority owned by Mark Attanasio, the Milwaukee Brewers principal owner.
"I'm very, very interested in talking about it right now," he told British broadcaster TalkSport while promoting his new movie, "The Death of Robin Hood."
"You're the first one to know that. There's a little exclusive," Jackman said when asked if he would "follow suit" with Reynolds, who put Wrexham on the global soccer and culture map after buying the club with Rob Mac in 2021.
Norwich and Wrexham are now rivals in the English second-tier Championship, though Jackman's team has the more illustrious history. Norwich last played in the Premier League four years ago, and had perhaps its finest moment in 1993 eliminating German power Bayern Munich in the old UEFA Cup.

Enzo Fernandez seems to have taken a shot at Chelsea's leadership following a deadline-day switch to Manchester City. The Cityzens paid out a joint British transfer record sum of £125 million ($169.1 million) to acquire the 25-year-old midfielder, who had been advocating to depart Stamford Bridge from as early as May.
Officials at Stamford Bridge believed it was in the club's best interest to separate from Fernandez in the closing hours of the transfer window, as per football.london.
Upon putting pen to paper on a five-year deal with Manchester City, tying him to the Etihad until at least June 2031, the Argentina international appeared to deliver a jab at his previous employers.

Conor Coady is working with Liverpool's under-21s following his departure from Championship club Wrexham.
The defender is a free agent after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with the Red Dragons on the eve of transfer deadline day.

"I'm trying to keep myself busy. I'm lucky enough to get the opportunity to go into Liverpool's under-21s," he told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.
"I came through there. I'm doing a little bit of coaching with the boys, which has been brilliant."

Ross Stewart looks set to miss Swansea City's next four matches because of a quad injury.
Scotland striker Stewart missed the Swans' Championship victory over Watford on Tuesday as well last Saturday's win at Derby County.
The 30-year-old has made only one substitute appearance, in the goalless draw with Sheffield United 11 days ago, since joining Swansea on a three-year contract last month.
Stewart is now expected to miss Swansea's home game against Wrexham on Saturday as well as the trip to Southampton – his former club – next Tuesday and fixtures against Burnley and Lincoln City prior to the international break at the end of the month.
"Ross had a soft tissue injury, not massive, but probably he can return in the international break," said Swansea head coach Vitor Matos.

Assistant manager Steve Parkin says he understands Chris Wilder's frustrations over the possibility of losing Callum O'Hare to Wrexham after the Sheffield United boss accused the Welsh side of a "blanket bombing" approach to the transfer window.
Speaking ahead of the Blades' Championship contest with Bolton Wanderers at Bramall Lane on Tuesday night (19:45 BST), United boss Wilder confirmed the Red Dragons had submitted a bid for attacking midfielder O'Hare.
During the press briefing, Wilder also said Wrexham were "in for half the division".
And while accepting Wilder's frustrations, Wrexham ****** istant Parkin was keen to stressed his side's transfer dealings are far more methodical than Wilder suggested.
"I did read that (Wilder's comments). Me and Chris go a long way back and he's no different to any other manager," said Parkin.

Phil Parkinson is "probably" under pressure as Wrexham manager for the first time, according to former Wales striker Iwan Roberts.
Friday night's 2-1 home defeat by Birmingham left Wrexham winless and without a clean sheet in four matches across all competitions so far in 2026-27.
Roberts told BBC Radio Wales: "I think he [Parkinson] is probably under pressure for the first time since he's been at Wrexham.
"He's had some incredible success at the football club. I think he's quite stubborn in his way, in his tactics, he doesn't like to change, and I don't mind that because they have been so successful.
"But I've said it too many times, when you're chasing a game, you're behind with 15, 20 minutes to go, he still persists with the back three, instead of maybe trying something different, going to a back four and getting another body further forward."

Birmingham City beat Wrexham 2-1 at the Racecourse Ground, with centre-back Phil Neumann scoring twice to secure all three points.
Neumann opened the scoring from close range in the 13th minute before Callum Doyle levelled for Wrexham shortly after half-time. The hosts had started to build momentum at that stage, but Birmingham responded quickly and Neumann struck again in the 63rd minute, heading home August Priske's cross.
Wrexham pushed for another equaliser late on and Kieffer Moore forced James Beadle into a save, while Sam Smith also missed from close range. Birmingham, though, managed the final stages well enough to protect their lead and see out the win.
Birmingham made the brighter start and threatened from a series of early set-pieces. Their pressure paid off in the 13th minute when Alex Cochrane delivered from the left and Neumann arrived inside the six-yard box to head past Anthony Patterson.
Wrexham gradually worked their way into the game. Moore tested Beadle with a header before Danny Imray forced another save from the Birmingham goalkeeper, but the visitors reached half-time with their one-goal advantage intact.

Marc Bola is sidelined with a hamstring problem, while Kwadwo Baah is recovering from a thigh injury.
Jeremy Ngakia remains out with a hamstring issue, while Jack Grieves is recovering from a knee problem and Travis Akomeah is sidelined with a foot injury.

Being in the midst of a sports reality show really isn't what you'd expect it to be. But then again, "Welcome to Wrexham" isn't like any other sports reality show, so I shouldn't be too surprised by how things turned out.
I ***** umed it would be an experience marked by intrusive camera crews recording our mundanity, which a melodramatic editing process would twist until everybody on the show was an embarrassing meme. Instead, it must be said that the camera crews are positively lovely, accepted within both the club and the town as friends, not an unfortunate necessity.
Rather than create shock value, the show is remarkably good at selecting people and themes. It reflects what I experience, both as a fan of the club and a resident of Wrexham. To illustrate this, consider the one moment in all five seasons which I felt was inauthentic. It came early on, when Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds' representative, Humphrey Ker, endured a disastrous introduction to the players and manager, Dean Keates.

Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson expects Birmingham City to make changes to their team for their Championship game tonight (20:00 BST) after the Blues were hammered by Brentford in the EFL Cup in midweek.
Like Wrexham, the Blues have drawn both of their two Championship matches so far this season.
But Chris Davies' men were thrashed 6-1 by the Premier League Bees in the second round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday night - with the 41-year-old head coach receiving criticism of late.
Despite the noise surrounding Davies' position as Birmingham boss, Parkinson says the Red Dragons' sole focus will be on building from the positives of their 1-1 league draw with Watford last time out.
"There will be changes I should imagine in the (Birmingham) team, first of all because it was a cup game, secondly because of the result and there will be a reaction," Parkinson said.

Cancer is serious. Ryan Reynolds is not. Luckily his characteristic sense of humor, along with being true to his word, has helped shine a light on a sobering topic in a fun way. First, he made a friendly bet with his Welcome to Wrexham co-star Rob McElhenney of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia with whom he also co-owns the Welsh football club Wrexham A.F.C.
The bet? That McElhenney would not be able to learn Welsh, the official language of Wales, where their soccer team is located. The stakes? If Reynolds lost, he'd have to get a colonoscopy… and post the entire thing to YouTube. About 30 seconds into a YouTube upload **** led "Rob & Ryan Lead From Behind," McElhenney begins speaking in near-fluent Welsh.
Uh-oh. Colonoscopy it is.
Reynolds is an actor famous for hilarious hijinks. From his intense fictional feud with Hugh Jackman to performing epic pranks on talk shows, he is often the best thing on the internet for a good laugh. However, he is also not one to shy away from difficult conversations, particularly when it comes to health. So raising awareness about the importance of colonoscopies was, as he quipped, "enough motivation for me to let you in on a camera being shoved up my **** ."
Reynolds might have lost the bet, but his actions paid off. The procedure turned out to be lifesaving.

Wrexham are poised to sign Issa Kabore on a permanent deal from Manchester City in addition to bringing in left-back Jacques Ekomie from French side Angers.
Burkina Faso international Kabore featured 32 times across all competitions for the Red Dragons in 2025-26.
His eight ***** ists in the Championship were more than any other Wrexham player.
Following seven loan moves away from City, the 25-year-old is now close to sealing a permanent exit from the Etihad Stadium.
Ekomie recently entered the final year of his deal with Angers and reportedly attracted interest from Wrexham's Championship rivals West Ham United and German side Hamburg.
