Former Missouri forward Mark Mitchell plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3's Joe Tipton confirms. He went through the NBA Draft process this summer after exhausting his eligibility, however the NCAA's five-for-five rule and a preliminary injunction for the 2022 recruiting class have paved a path back to college basketball.
The 6-foot-9 forward was one of the top recruits in the 2022 class, ranked No. 23 nationally as part of Duke's talented recruiting class. After two seasons, he transferred closer to home, landing at Missouri.
He went on to become a two-time All-SEC selection for the Tigers. In the 2025-26 season, Mitchell averaged 18.3 points and 5.2 rebounds, shooting 38.8-percent from the three-point line and 54.7-percent from the field.
In total across four seasons, the 22-year old has averaged 13.2 points and 5.1 rebounds. He immediately becomes one of the top available players on the market as teams scramble to fill out their roster with a new pool of talent added back into the mix.

Auburn forward Keyshawn Hall signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Miami Heat shortly after the conclusion of the 2026 NBA Draft and would go on to play in five games with the Heat as part of the NBA Summer League earlier this month.
Usually, playing in the NBA Summer League is a clear sign that a player has exhausted his collegiate eligibility and has shifted focus to a professional career. However, that may not be the case for Hall.
Joe Tipton of On3 reported Thursday that Hall has been granted a fifth season of eligibility through a preliminary injunction, and will explore the possibility of signing with another program for his final season of eligibility.
The ruling most likely stems from the new NCAA eligibility ruling, otherwise known as the "5-for-5" ruling that allows athletes to play their respective sport for five seasons beginning when the athlete enrolls with a university as a full-time student, or the start of the academic year following the athlete's 19th birthday, whichever comes first. The rule allows student-athletes to compete for five seasons, virtually eliminating traditional redshirt rules and medical hardships.
If Hall signs with a program, it will mark the fifth program he has played for in five seasons. He signed with Auburn through the transfer portal last offseason after leading the Big 12 in scoring at UCF as a junior. Before his time in Orlando with the Knights, Hall started 28 games for George Mason after starting his career at UNLV.

Michigan basketball managed to hold onto most of its roster, but not everyone chose to stay in Ann Arbor under new head coach Mike Boynton Jr.
The Wolverines lost one player to the transfer portal in backup point guard LJ Cason, who had torn his ACL in the Illinois game this past season. Expected to be out for the majority, if not all, of the upcoming season, Cason was going to redshirt for the maize and blue before the NCAA's five-for-five ruling came down. But when Dusty May left Michigan for the NBA, Cason was the last player to decide if he was staying or going, and ultimately chose to leave.
Cason entered the transfer portal, and on Tuesday, he ultimately opted to go to Miami, as reported by Rivals' Joe Tipton.
Cason is the second player in as many years to leave Ann Arbor for Coral Gables. Starting point guard in May's first season coaching the maize and blue, Tre Donaldson, also transferred to the Hurricanes.
A huge spark off the bench, Cason was expected to be the starting point guard of the future for the Wolverines. He improved from scoring 4.3 points per game as a true freshman to 8.4 points per game in his sophomore year. He has three years of eligibility remaining now that five-for-five is enacted.

Michigan basketball's roster continues to hold firm despite the departure of national championship-winning head coach Dusty May.
According to Rivals' Joe Tipton, freshman forward Quinn Costello has announced that he is staying with the Wolverines rather than exploring other options following May's move to the NBA.

It’s another day with more reports that Michigan basketball will keep a few of more of its players on the roster despite the departure of Dusty May. Today, multiple reports said fans should expect center Marcus Moller, guard/forward Ricky Liburd, and forward Oscar Goodman on the roster for the 2026-2027 season.
Earlier today, Rivals’ Joe Tipton shared that freshman Marcus Moller is expected to stay at Michigan. He’s a 7-foot-3 center who signed with the Wolverines as part of the class of 2026. He’s been committed to the program for nearly a year, and Michigan stuck with him even after he announced a cancer diagnosis. He was the first player in Michigan’s 2026 class to commit.
This afternoon, it was reported by Brice Marich that forward Oscar Goodman would be back for the season, too. Goodman was a redshirt freshman on Michigan’s national championship-winning squad. He wasn’t the largest contributor on the team, finishing with 86 minutes, 10 shots, and going 0-for-6 on 3-pointers. He finished 2-of-5 on free throws. But his decision to stay shows continuity on the roster and buy-in from the program when it comes to interim coach Mike Boynton.
Ricky Liburd didn’t have any stats from his freshman season at Michigan since he decided to redshirt, but it’s once again a good sign that Boynton is keeping the guys on the roster despite the departure of Dusty May. Kentucky Basketball is still in the hunt for one of the highest-ranked big men in the class of 2027.
Darius Wabbington, a 6-foot-11 center from Phoenix, Arizona, has cut his list to six schools. Kentucky joins Arizona, Indiana, Louisville, North Carolina, and Texas on his list.
Wabbington is ranked 14th overall in the 2027 class, according to Rivals, and is the highest-ranked center in the class.
Wabbington told Joe Tipton from On3 that he has scheduled three visits this fall with Louisville, Arizona, and Texas. He also told Tipton that relationships with the coaching staff and style of play will be two of the biggest factors in his recruitment.
“I’ll probably just be looking at my relationship with the coaches, and then the style of play. Those are the two main things that I want to see with a school. I really like the five-out style, but I also like playing with two bigs. You know, just bully ball. Where you’re bigger than everybody, and you’re just going to show everybody that you’re bigger than them, and just make them stop it. Those are the two styles I really like to see.”

Jun. 25—CHAMPAIGN — Illinois forward Ben Humrichous signed an Exhibition 10 contract with the Brooklyn Nets late Wednesday night following the 2026 NBA Draft. Jon Chepkevich, of Draft Express, was first to report.
Humrichous went undrafted, but with the Exhibit 10 deal will now get at least a shot at the NBA. First up? Likely a Summer League run with the Nets for the 6-foot-9 forward.
An Exhibit 10 contract is a non-guaranteed minimum salary deal that includes a training camp invite. The agreement can then either be guaranteed or converted to a two-way contract before the regular season starts. Teams can waive a player on an Exhibit 10 contract at any time without a salary cap hit.
Humrichous' path to a potential NBA landing spot is unique. The Tipton, Ind., native started his college career at NAIA Huntington University before a one-year stop at Evansville led him to Illinois. He played two seasons for the Illini, turning into a valuable role player during the team's Final Four run this past season.

Iowa basketball is getting one of its top targets in the 2027 class on campus this fall.
Per On3's Joe Tipton, five-star point guard Cayden Daughtry will take an official visit to Iowa on Sept. 12, which coincides with the annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series football game between Iowa and Iowa State at Kinnick Stadium.
Daughtry, a 6-foot, 160-pound point guard from Calvary Christian Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is a five-star prospect, per the 247Sports composite rankings. In the 247Sports composite, Daughtry ranks as the No. 16 player nationally, as the No. 4 point guard and as the No. 4 player in Florida.
According to ESPN, Daughtry is the No. 12 prospect nationally, the No. 4 point guard and the top player in Florida. Daughtry is rated as the No. 22 player nationally, as the No. 7 point guard and as the No. 4 player in the Sunshine State, per Rivals.

Per On3's Joe Tipton, five-star point guard Cayden Daughtry will take an official visit to Iowa on Sept. 12, which coincides with the annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series football game between Iowa and Iowa State at Kinnick Stadium.
Daughtry, a 6-foot, 160-pound point guard from Calvary Christian Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is a five-star prospect, per the 247Sports composite rankings. In the 247Sports composite, Daughtry ranks as the No. 16 player nationally, as the No. 4 point guard and as the No. 4 player in Florida.
According to ESPN, Daughtry is the No. 12 prospect nationally, the No. 4 point guard and the top player in Florida. Daughtry is rated as the No. 22 player nationally, as the No. 7 point guard and as the No. 4 player in the Sunshine State, per Rivals.

Penn State men’s basketball received another roster boost with a commitment from St. Bonaventure transfer Dasonte Bowen earlier today:

A point guard, Bowen began his college career at Iowa before transferring to St. Bonaventure for the 2024-25 season. He put together two very solid seasons for the Bonnies and led the team in ***** ists in 2025-26. The NCAA granted him a fifth season of eligibility after his 2024-25 season was limited to just 10 games due to injury. With longtime Bonnies head coach Mark Schmidt retiring, Bowen has decided to join Penn State for his final season of eligibility.
Bowen shot just 41% from the floor last season , though his ***** ist rate was 10th in the Atlantic 10. This looks like a decent pickup for Penn State, but we will see if he readjusts to the level of competition in the Big Ten after making just nine starts in his two seasons at Iowa. He is not the first St. Bonaventure player to transfer to Penn State. Izaiah Brockington joined the Nittany Lions from the Bonnies in 2018.

South Carolina forward EJ Walker plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
According to On3’s Joe Tipton, South Carolina forward EJ Walker plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal. Walker just wrapped up his first season in Columbia, earning some playing time off the bench as a true freshman. He now goes into the open market, hoping to find a new home.
Originally, the plan for Walker was to redshirt. However, head coach Lamont Paris decided to change the course of direction and get Walker out there. This came after South Carolina started the season 5-3, losing against the three power conference f
