Another Michigan basketball player is staying in the fold.
Marcus Moller, a 7-foot-3 incoming freshman center from Denmark, will stay with the program despite the departures of coach Dusty May, according to a report by On3's Joe Tipton. Mike Boynton Jr. was named interim coach in the days following May's departure to the Dallas Mavericks, and he's kept the vast majority of the team intact.
Moller, one of six freshmen who signed with the Wolverines, is now the fifth newcomer to announce he's staying with Michigan, joining five-star Brandon McCoy Jr., four-star Joseph Hartman, four-star Lincoln Cosby and three-star Malachi Brown. The last freshman who has not announced is McDonald's All-American Quinn Costello.
Michigan also got good news in recent weeks from what's projected to be its starting lineup, with Elliot Cadeau, Trey McKenney, J.P. Estrella and Moustapha Thiam (alongside McCoy) all stating they will stay with the program for the 2026-27 season. The same goes for LSU transfer big man Jalen Reed.
U-M is just waiting on word from Costello and three returning pieces: L.J. Cason (who is coming off of a torn ACL), Oscar Goodman and Ricky Liburd.
