AJ Williams has been regarded by many as a prospect that could play in the NBA almost immediately.
On Tuesday, Aug. 4, he took one-step towards that goal as the nation's top 2028 recruit reclassified to the 2027 class, according to On3's Joe Tipton.
Williams is the latest top prospect to reclassify up a class. That list includes four players who ended up being drafted first overall: AJ Dybantsa, Cooper Flagg, Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins.
Other recent notable names to reclassify are Marcus Spears Jr., Bruce Branch III, Adan Diggs, Alijah Arenas, Baba Oladotun and Obinna Ekezie Jr.
According to 247Sports and the USA TODAY Sports composite ranking, the 6-foot-8, 210-pounder was the undisputed No. 1 overall prospect in the country for his class.
