Sales were strong, led by the cold beverage portfolio and the U.S. Refreshment Beverages segment, while U.S. Coffee remained pressured but met expectations. Management continues to make pro gress on its JDE Peet's integration. Platinum ****** et Management, an investment management company, released its Q2 2026 investor letter for "Platinum International Brands Fund". A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. The fund returned over 4% in the quarter but lost 14% over the past year, primarily due to the dominance of tech stocks amid an AI investment boom. Consumer-focused sectors underperformed due to weak sentiment and challenges such as high interest rates and rising oil prices, which have contributed to record-low consumer confidence. However, the fund's holdings remain fundamentally strong, with top holdings averaging 13% sales growth and 19% profit growth. The letter noted that positive developments include resumed job growth, reduced oil prices, and easing fiscal policy, which potentially enhance consumer sentiment. In addition, please check the Fund's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Platinum International Brands Fund highlighted Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT) as a notable contributor. Caterpillar Inc. Platinum International Brands Fund stated the following regarding Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT) (+36%) was another strong performer, shrugging off a 14% fall in profit. Steel is a key input and tariffs hurt; management is working on remedies, but they will take time. Beneath the surface, demand is heating up. Cat's engines and turbines power locomotives, ships, oil rigs, gas pipelines and now datacentres, a source of demand as ferocious as it is price-insensitive. Add a mining and energy complex emerging from a decade of underinvestment and a depressed construction sector turning the corner and the prospects look bright."
Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT) is not on our list of 40 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds Heading Into 2026. According to our database, 87 hedge fund portfolios held Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT) at the end of the first quarter, up from 86 in the previous quarter. While we acknowledge the potential of Caterpillar Inc. Platinum International Brands Fund stated the following regarding Birkenstock Holding plc (NYSE:BIRK) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"Birkenstock Holding plc (NYSE:BIRK) (+23%) was among our strongest contributors over the past quarter. The German sandal-maker, with two and a half centuries of heritage, keeps finding fresh ways to grow as a capable management team burnishes the brand, opens new product lines and expands overseas. It earns a 24% operating margin and a 40% return on capital and grew profits 25% on a year ago. Any private owner would be content with these numbers. "I exited the MarineMax, Inc. (NYSE:HZO) position during the period. While I continue to respect management and believe the company owns attractive marina and waterfront **** ets, I concluded that capital could earn higher long-term returns in Vox Royalty and RCI Hospitality. Ace River Capital stated the following regarding RCI Hospitality Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:RICK) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"The investment thesis for RCI Hospitality Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:RICK) has strengthened. The market remains focused on the New York litigation overhang while overlooking the company's normalized free cash flow generation, valuable owned real estate, and long record of disciplined capital allocation. I believe the current valuation materially understates intrinsic value even under conservative ****** umptions. Continued share repurchases and intelligent capital allocation should enhance long term per-share value, while eventual resolution of the New York matter has the potential to remove a meaningful overhang. Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) and Core Scientific, Inc. (NASDAQ:CORZ) announced an infrastructure partnership on July 28 that starts with more than 500 megawatts of U.S. data center capacity in 2027 and can expand to 2.5 gigawatts.
The commercial link is a deployment bottleneck. AI accelerators cannot generate revenue without energized land, cooling, networking, and buildings designed for high-density racks. Core Scientific supplies that infrastructure, while the companies will jointly design facilities around AMD Instinct GPUs, EPYC CPUs, and ROCm software. For AMD, reserving compatible capacity can turn customer interest into installable systems rather than stranded chip demand, although the agreement discloses no GPU-purchase commitment.
For illustration purposes only. Photo by Brett Sayles on Pexels
The full 2.5 GW is not firm capacity. Core Scientific said the partnership is anchored by 15-year agreements for approximately 530 MW across five sites and more than $14 billion of potential base contracted revenue. That company estimate is not recognized revenue, and no disclosed GPU-purchase commitment lets investors translate it into AMD chip sales.
Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) will receive market-priced warrants to buy Core Scientific common stock, subject to commercial conditions. That feature aligns AMD with the infrastructure provider's execution and gives it potential equity upside. It may also dilute existing CORZ holders if warrants vest and are exercised, but the companies did not disclose enough terms to quantify that effect.

The MLB trade deadline is 6 p.m. ET on Aug. 5, which means the rumors are in full swing across baseball. There are a handful of former Florida Gators who could be dealt at the deadline, with a pair of well-known right-handed pitchers at the top of the list.
The most likely trade candidate is Brady Singer, whose contract with the Cincinnati Reds is set to expire this offseason. Singer was traded by Kansas City in the 2024-25 offseason, swapping teams with former college teammate Jonathan India. In 53 starts with the Reds, Singer has a 4.15 ERA, 8.24 K/9, 3.12 BB/9 and 3.6 fWAR.
Singer is a consistent presence for MLB teams looking to strengthen their starting rotations, and his last two months of work have helped boost his trade value after struggling in the early part of the season. A return to the AL Central could be on the table, with the Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins both in need of pitching. The Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies and San Diego Padres are National League teams that are also in the mix to trade for a pitcher.
Brandon Sproat is another former Gator who could be moved by next week. He's 25 years old and still developing into a reliable starter at the major-league level. The Milwaukee Brewers might not be excited to trade a key piece of last offseason's return for Freddy Peralta, but Sproat could be packaged in a deal for a high-end starter, such as Detroit's Tarik Skubal. There's certainly plenty of upside with Sproat, but a proven starter — even one on a rental — may be more valuable for a team chasing a World Series.
The two names that come to mind among former Gators in the minors are left-handed starter Hunter Barco and right-handed reliever Philip Abner.

After finishing the season 5-12, the 2025 Cleveland Browns struggled to find an identity. With three different quarterbacks starting over the course of the season and inconsistent offensive play throughout, the team often appeared to lack a clear direction. The team had reached a point where meaningful changes were necessary to shake things up.
Going into the 2026 season, one of the biggest changes the team made was bringing in new head coach Todd Monken. Regardless of who returns to the field, the team will have a different look under its new leadership. While there is still uncertainty at quarterback, Shedeur Sanders is returning with a year of experience under his belt, and Deshaun Watson is returning from injury.
Cleveland GM Andrew Berry also invested heavily in the offensive line all offseason, while long standing veterans Joel Bitonio, Wyatt Teller, and David Njoku are no longer on the team.
The young players like Carson Schwesinger and Harold Fannin Jr., who had really impressive rookie seasons, have a great opportunity to build on what they did in 2025. Additionally, the Browns' 2026 draft class impressed many and brings another level of potential to what this team can be.
Both seasons come with plenty of uncertainty, but the 2026 roster has a clearer vision and more upside, while the 2025 team seemed stuck repeating an approach that had already proven ineffective.

A housing market crash happens when home values plummet due to a lack of demand for or an oversupply of homes. The factors leading to a housing market crash are varied, ranging from economic recessions to high mortgage rates that make it less affordable to buy a home. A housing crash can have upsides (low home prices) and downsides (losing built-up equity and tighter finances).

So, what's ahead for the housing market in 2026?
➡ Read more: Want to buy a house in 2026? Here's what you need to know.
Generally, experts don't foresee a housing market crash in 2026. If anything, they see a greater sense of normalcy following multiple years of twists and turns.
"We're not heading toward a housing crash; we're in a market correction defined by stability, not volatility," Hoby Hanna, CEO of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, said via email. "Today's housing environment is fundamentally different from 2008. Homeowners have record levels of equity, lending standards are sound, and inventory remains constrained. What we're seeing now is a normalization, not a collapse, as the market adjusts to new economic realities. For buyers and sellers, this is a market filled with opportunity and resilience, not instability or uncertainty."

Night View Capital, an investment management firm, released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter. The letter highlights that AI is a transformative force, comparable to electricity due to its industry-wide impact. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. Although fears about the software sector have led to significant declines in stock prices, the letter argues that AI integration will ultimately benefit many companies. They recognize that some software firms may experience temporary slowdowns, but most will adapt and succeed by embracing AI, citing advantages like systems of record, high switching costs, entrenched distribution, and rapid AI adoption. The sharp decline in software valuations appears to be an overreaction rather than a sign of industry failure. Nightview believes the so-called "software panic of 2026" is temporary, and resilient businesses will adapt and flourish in the age of AI. In addition, please check the Strategy's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.

"Salesforce, Inc. (NYSE:CRM) is our clearest expression of the system-of-record thesis. It holds the customer relationships of a large slice of the corporate world. That data is the fuel for every AI sales and service agent a company might want to deploy, and the natural place to deploy them is inside the platform that already holds the data. When the software selloff was at its most indiscriminate, we added to our position. We were, in effect, buying the fear."
Salesforce, Inc. (NYSE:CRM) ranks 28 on our list of 40 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds Heading Into 2026. According to our database, 101 hedge fund portfolios held Salesforce, Inc. (NYSE:CRM) at the end of the first quarter, compared to 115 in the previous quarter. While we acknowledge the risk and potential of Salesforce, Inc. O'Keeffe Stevens Advisory, an investment advisory firm, released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. During Q2 2026, the market experienced notable dispersion between perceived AI losers and winners. The firm has made investments early in AI infrastructure companies, which yielded gains during market repricing. The second quarter experienced strong equity rallies, with the S&P 500 gaining 15.2% and the Nasdaq 21.4%, marking the best quarter since Q2 2020. While the software sector faced challenges, with the iShares Software ETF dropping ~27% before a rally, reflecting high volatility. This volatility is seen as an opportunity, despite the potential for 'dead money' in underperforming stocks. The firm remains cautious, focuses on owning durable businesses at reasonable prices, holding cash, and hedging risks to navigate unpredictability. In addition, please check the Strategy's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, O'Keeffe Stevens Advisory highlighted Callaway Golf Company (NYSE:CALY). Callaway Golf Company (NYSE:CALY) is a global manufacturer of golf equipment, golf and lifestyle apparel, and other accessories. On July 27, 2026, Callaway Golf Company (NYSE:CALY) closed at $18.27 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $3.28 billion. Callaway Golf Company (NYSE:CALY) posted a one-month return of -2.77%, while its shares gained 89.72% over the past 52 weeks.
O'Keeffe Stevens Advisory stated the following regarding Callaway Golf Company (NYSE:CALY) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"Callaway Golf Company (NYSE:CALY): Post the announced sale of their TopGolf business, the next catalyst to the story is demonstrating the clean, high-quality business of the remaining club, ball, and apparel business. Q1 net sales rose 9.2% to $687.5m, adjusted EBITDA climbed 31.1% to $163.7 million, and non-GAAP net income from continuing operations increased 96%, with gross margin up roughly 260 basis points, absorbing about $18m of incremental tariX expense. Management raised its full-year outlook, and the summer thus far has been a net positive for the golf industry. On capital return, through April 30, Callaway repurchased 5.6 million shares at an average cost of $14.08 ($79 million of the $200 million authorization), and on May 1 the company settled its $258 million of convertible notes in cash and remains in a net cash position. Our thesis continues to play out, and while the stock has materially appreciated, we still see upside to numbers. Management is acting exactly as expected, reducing debt, returning capital a complex-to-simple story easy for all to understand better."

Columbia Threadneedle Investments, an investment management company, released its "Columbia Seligman Global Technology Fund" second quarter 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. During the quarter, the Fund's Institutional Class shares returned 50.34%, outperforming the MSCI World Information Technology Index's 33.65% gain. Stock selection in semiconductors, technology hardware and software, together with an off-benchmark electrical equipment allocation, supported relative performance, while exposure to financials, consumer discretionary and healthcare detracted. Technology stocks rallied as concerns over the Iran conflict eased and AI infrastructure spending boosted demand for semiconductors, memory, networking, servers and power solutions. The Fund expects AI and data-centre investment to remain strong, supported by broadening earnings growth and improving software bookings, cloud consumption and customer spending. However, geopolitical uncertainty, higher interest rates and heavy AI investment could pressure valuations and free cash flow. The strategy holds 50–75 technology companies across market capitalisations and uses bottom-up GARP research to identify misunderstood and undervalued businesses in the technology industry. In addition, please check the Fund's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Columbia Seligman Global Technology Fund highlighted Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD). Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) is a leading semiconductor company that designs and manufactures of AI accelerators, microprocessors, and graphics processing units. On July 27, 2026, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) closed at $494.95 per share. One-month return of Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) was -14.80% and its shares gained 178.94% over the past 52 weeks. Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) has a market capitalization of about $807.07 billion.
Columbia Seligman Global Technology Fund stated the following regarding Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"The fund did not own some of the larger central processing unit (CPU) companies such as Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) and the server CPU opportunity is having a renaissance driven by agentic AI. This lack of exposure ultimately detracted from performance, as the companies' share prices moved sharply higher during the quarter."
Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) ranks 20 on our list of 40 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds Heading Into 2026. According to our database, 134 hedge fund portfolios held Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) at the end of the first quarter, up from 132 in the previous quarter.

Two Detroit automakers jumped Monday morning on positive ****** yst news. Jefferies upgraded both General Motors and Ford to buy ratings, from hold.
The investment firm raised General Motors' price target to $99 from $90; and Ford to $17.50, up from $14.50, according to theFly.com. The price targets imply a 12-month upside of 17% for GM and 21% for Ford, relative to where shares traded Monday morning.
The ****** yst action for both companies follows an extended period of hold ratings, and comes after both automakers in December incurred huge, multibillion write-offs related to a series of electric vehicle investments that didn't pan out.
Ford stock rose as much as 3% on Monday's news as it continues to hug its 50-day line, according to MarketSurge. Meanwhile, General Motors' 3.5% gain pushed it briefly above a buy point of 85.41 as it tinkers with a breakout from a flat base. Over the last 12 months, General Motors (GM) is up just under 60%. Ford (F) advanced roughly 28%.

Shares of neocloud infrastructure provider Nebius Group (NASDAQ: NBIS) shot up nearly 19% on July 21 after it emerged that Nvidia has a significant stake in the company.
According to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Nvidia has a 9.3% equity stake in Nebius, which amounts to just over $5 billion as of this writing. It is worth noting that Nvidia announced a $2 billion investment in Nebius in March this year to help the neocloud specialist deploy more than 5 gigawatts (GW) of artificial intelligence (AI) data center capacity by the end of the decade.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
That investment has grown substantially. The AI stock has jumped over 67% since Nvidia announced it was backing Nebius on March 11. The good news is that Nebius still has significant upside potential, given the fast-growing AI data center market it serves. Let's see why this Nvidia-backed AI infrastructure specialist is destined to be a long-term winner.
Nebius provides dedicated AI data centers to customers looking to run AI workloads in the cloud. More importantly, the company operates an end-to-end AI cloud infrastructure platform by offering software solutions as well, enabling customers to build AI agents, fine-tune models, and develop applications, among other things.

WS Amati Global Innovation Fund, managed by a UK-based equity management firm from AMAti Global Investors, released its second quarter 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter is available to download here. Financial market performance in the second quarter was dominated by geopolitical conflict and enthusiasm for AI. Significant investments across all elements of AI resulted in exceptional growth for related companies, ranging from chip producers to companies constructing data centres. The fund outperformed the MSCI ACWI benchmark due to its diversified exposure beyond headline AI firms, with semiconductor and equipment suppliers being major contributors.
