Ashleigh Gardner's position as Australia's vice-captain has come under renewed scrutiny after her estranged wife, Monica Wright, called for the star all-rounder to be removed from the leadership role and questioned Cricket Australia's response to allegations surrounding their marriage.

In an exclusive interview with Code Sports, Wright criticised the governing body's silence after she publicly accused Gardner of having an affair with Australia teammate Georgia Voll.

Wright argued that Gardner's position of leadership should carry additional responsibility, particularly given her allegation of a power imbalance between Gardner and Voll.

"I think if you're privileged enough to represent your country and be seen as a role model, there's a responsibility to hold yourself to a high moral standard," Wright told Code Sports.

She also questioned why Cricket Australia had not publicly addressed the matter.

"What I can't understand is why Cricket Australia hasn't said anything publicly," she said.

Wright's comments come after she publicly identified Voll in an Instagram post in July, writing: "This is who my wife cheated on me with." Gardner and Wright have since separated and removed photographs of each other from their social media accounts.

Neither Gardner nor Voll has publicly responded to Wright's allegations. Cricket Australia has also not publicly commented on the specific allegations.
Wright believes the allegations should have consequences for Gardner's position within Australian cricket.

"You can't have an affair with a junior member of staff, especially when there's a clear power imbalance, and then remain in a position of leadership," she told Code Sports. "Captains are expected to set the standard, and that kind of conduct falls well short of it."

Wright's comments put the focus not only on Gardner's personal situation but also on how Cricket Australia handles relationships within its professional environment.

Code Sports reported that Cricket Australia has maintained that it regards the situation as a private matter while enforcing its workplace policies.

The controversy has not, however, affected Gardner's standing with the Sydney Sixers, whom she captains in the Women's Big Bash League.

Sixers general manager Rachael Haynes said the club remained supportive of Gardner and confirmed that it intended to recommend that she continue as captain.

"She's a well-respected player within our program, an important player for us," Haynes said.

Asked directly whether Gardner would remain Sixers captain, Haynes replied: "Absolutely."

According to an investigation by The Telegraph, the woman was allegedly promoted while the relationship was ongoing before leaving UEFA with a substantial payment.
The report claims UEFA also funded an MBA for the former employee at a business school, with annual fees said to have been around £45,000.
UEFA has confirmed that a payment was made, along with funding for the MBA, although they insist both were permitted under the regulations governing staff departures at the time.

Aug 5 (Reuters) - The Dallas and New York Federal Reserve banks plan to launch a pilot survey into the estimated $1.3 trillion private ‌credit market after the end of the third quarter, the New ‌York Fed said in a statement on Wednesday.
Private credit's expansion began as a means of funding private equity groups' buyouts after the 2008 financial crisis saw bank financing dry up. It then swelled into a prime source of debt financing for riskier businesses, drawing in capital from income-hungry investors.
Though still tiny compared with the traditional ‌banking industry, the sector ⁠has been dogged by concerns over the quality of lending standards and a lack of transparency.
The survey would segment the market ⁠into three sections based on borrower size: an upper middle market with more than $100 million in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization; a middle market between $30 million and $100 million EBITDA; and a lower middle market with less than $30 million EBITDA, ‌the statement said.
Findings of the survey are expected to be published in the first quarter of 2027, it said.

The 5-foot-9 native of Arvada, Colo., stars for Ralston Valley High School and the Hardwood Elite Adidas 3-Stripes Select AAU program, where she is rated as the No. 4 prospect and No. 1 point guard in the state, according to Prep Girls Hoops' 2027 Colorado rankings.
During her junior season, Sabus averaged 23.7 points on 51% shooting and 35% from 3-point range, along with 10.1 rebounds, 3.9 steals, 3.8 ******* ists, and 1.0 blocks in 24 games, per MaxPreps.
Along with Iowa, Sabus has garnered scholarship invitations from Colorado, Kansas, and Washington State.

Datadog's quarterly results beat on the top and bottom line, but the company's adjusted gross margin of 80% came in slightly below the ***** ysts' consensus estimate of 80.7%.
Meanwhile, Figma's quarterly results also beat on the top and bottom lines, but the software design and collaboration company flagged rising AI inference spending, or the ongoing cost of running user prompts through AI models.
"We do not charge our customers for their usage of products that are currently in beta, and we bear the cost of inference without offsetting consumption revenue," Figma CFO Praveer Melwani said during the company's earnings call. "As a result, gross margin will vary from quarter-to-quarter in the near term."

It is not often that TSMC (TSM) takes cues from Intel (INTC), but that is undoubtedly what's happening. According to The Information, the world's largest contract chipmaker is quietly building a new packaging technology modeled on Intel's EMIB. TSMC's own engineers are reportedly calling the project "EMIB-like" in-house. The company is developing it with a Taiwanese substrate maker, Kinsus Interconnect Technology. Following the report, TSMC's U.S.-listed shares rose about 8%, while Intel climbed roughly 11% on July 30. For a company that usually defines the industry's direction, TSMC borrowing ideas from Intel is worth a closer look.
The fight is all about how chips get packaged. TSMC's main method, CoWoS, uses a large and expensive silicon layer to link chips together. Intel's EMIB takes a leaner route, embedding tiny silicon bridges only where the chips actually connect. That makes it cheaper and potentially better suited to the increasingly large AI chip designs. Despite record revenue and strong forward guidance, Rambus Inc. (NASDAQ:RMBS) shares fell as much as 20% in the sessions following the earnings announcement, with gross margin developments and evolving financial profiles driving institutional selling. Product gross margin landed in the low-60% area during the quarter, within management's 60% to 65% long-term target, though drifting toward the lower end due to product mix variations and supply chain cost pressures. More significantly, the trailing-twelve-month net margin decreased from 35.5% in the previous year to 31.7%.
Valuation multiples bring further scrutiny to these margin worries. Even after the 20% decline, Rambus Inc. (NASDAQ:RMBS) trades at a high forward price-to-earnings multiple of 24.27x. This marks a considerable premium to more mainstream AI semiconductor leaders like Broadcom (19.92x) and NVIDIA (20x). Trading at such a premium multiple leaves no room for execution delays or continued margin erosion, explaining why the market punished the company even with headline gains.

Chrisean Rock is speaking out about the most serious rumors of her career, flatly denying any connection to the killing of her ex-boyfriend Karon "Ronny Doe" Cann during a new livestream.
