CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Freshman Tait Reynolds replaced an injured Christopher Vizzina at quarterback and threw for 178 yards and led five scoring drives as Clemson defeated Georgia Southern 22-7 on Saturday night following a two-hour lightning delay.
T.J. Moore had seven catches for 103 yards and a touchdown and Nolan Hauser was 5 for 5 on field goal attempts for Clemson (1-1), which rebounded from a 51-10 thrashing at the hands of No. 11 LSU last week.
That loss, combined with a seventh place finish in the ACC last year, left fans and former players frustrated with the Tigers' sharp falloff under longtime head coach Dabo Swinney. Clemson's win likely did little to inspire much confidence in new coordinator Chad Morris' offense.
The Tigers (1-1), who were outgained by nearly 500 yards by LSU, finished with 345 yards but were 2 of 13 on third down conversions and managed just one touchdown on five trips inside the red zone against the Sun Belt Conference foe.
Max Johnson, a North Carolina transfer, finished 27-of-47 passing for 244 yards and a touchdown for Georgia Southern (1-1).

ATLANTA − Tennessee football quarterback Faizon Brandon faced some adversity while playing on the road for the first time in his very young college career.
Furman offered little resistance in his first career start but Brandon was challenged in Week 2 at Georgia Tech. His first road start didn't look pretty in the final box score but it was more than enough to get the No. 18 Vols (2-0) to a 45-24 win over the Yellow Jackets (0-2) on Sept. 12 at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
"The stat sheet's not going to be elite. I actually really like how he played the game," UT coach Josh Heupel said. "I thought he was composed, he handled himself in situational football pretty well. First game on the road, 18 years old, handled himself well."
Brandon completed 10 of 21 passes for 148 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He was sacked once and added 23 yards on five rushing attempts.
He was particularly inaccurate in the first half, completing only 5 of 15 passes but racking up 106 yards and two touchdown passes. Of his five first-half completions, four went for 15 yards or more and three gained 20 yards or more.

The Iowa Hawkeyes flipped the script on the Cyclones, winning this year's CyHawk game on a late field goal to pull out a 16-13 win. It was a scrappy, ugly, sometimes dirty game that was pretty much in line to how this series has gone these last ten years. But the Hawkeyes exorcised the demons of the last two years with a Caden Burr field goal from 42 yards out with :15 seconds left to bring the CyHawk trophy back home to Iowa City.
After last week's performance against NIU and with a brand new regime in Ames, many expected this to be a much more comfortable game for the Hawkeyes, especially under the lights in Kinnick Stadium with a raucous crowd. But Iowa State put Iowa into an early 10-0 hole midway through the second quarter that had the black and gold faithful starting to get that "here we go again" familiar feeling. But the offense managed to come to life, thanks to a massive 56-yard bomb to Tony Diaz that set up a Hank Brown touchdown run late the first half. A huge 45-yard Buhr field goal right before halftime reset the score and setting up a grinding second half of football.
Neither team had a great first quarter. Iowa started with the ball but procedural penalties doomed their drive. Meanwhile the Hawkeye defense held the Cyclones to only six plays in the quarter. Iowa State managed to move the chains in the second quarter with drives of nine and ten plays that ended on a Kyle Konrardy field goal and 7-yard Jalen Raynor touchdown pass, respectively. Raynor's stat line tonight won't impress anyone: 10/19 for 117 yards, and no touchdowns with some crucial misfires on potential big plays. But aside from those misses he made no back breaking mistakes that allowed the Iowa defense to capitalize.

Iowa State regained their momentum coming out of the break with an eight play drive that ended with another Konrardy field goal. Running back Aiden Flora had the play of the drive with a 34-yard scamper down to the Iowa 19, but holding and illegal substitution penalties stalled the drive leading to the Konrardy kick to put ISU up 13-10. Iowa's offense went in to hibernation as they could not get Kamari Moulton going on the ground, the Cyclones were clearly committed to stopping the run and it worked for much of the game. Iowa's first three drives of the second half went for only 21 yards (four plays), 8 yards (3 plays), and -5 yards (3 playes, not helped by a holding penalty on Dotzler). Woof.

SAN MARCOS - Texas State football coach GJ Kinne said Saturday's 31-26 loss to UTSA was one of the weirdest games he's ever experienced.
The Bobcats (0-2) outgained the Roadrunners (2-0) offense by 83 yards. The Texas State running backs averaged 7.15 yards per carry on 35 attempts. UTSA was 3-of-15 on third down; Texas State was 9-of-17. UTSA quarterback Owen McCown faced pressure from Texas State's defensive line all afternoon.

And yet, the Bobcats were the team desperately tossing laterals across the field when the clock hit zero, hoping for a miracle play. UTSA stormed the field afterward, whooping and hollering in celebration. For the first time in the rivalry, Texas State was the program defending its status. UTSA clearly had a chip on its shoulder that its San Marcos neighbours used to have. After the game, Kinne treated the loss like any other.
"We can't let this one define us," Kinne said. "It's not the end-all, be-all."

Arrow Electronics (ARW) stock has gained about 50% over the past six months and then stopped. It has slipped 1.0% over the past three months and trades roughly 9% below its 52-week high. Underneath the run is a machine that pays owners whether or not the price moves: a shrinking share count. It is shrinking more slowly now, and that changes what you are buying.
How Did Arrow Pay You While Its Profit Went Nowhere?
Over the past three years, Arrow's net income grew 0.7% a year on average while earnings per share grew 4.7% a year on average. Most of that gap is arithmetic: it retired about 3.3% of its shares a year on average, so each surviving share held a bigger claim on the same profit. Owners got a bigger slice for doing nothing.
Arrow returned 69% over those three years, about 19.0% a year, and still trailed the 76% the S&P 500 returned over the same span. The stock was up 85% at its three-year peak before giving some back. Retiring shares was one driver of that, alongside earnings growth and a changing multiple.

A profitable software company priced under the market is the setup value buyers wait for. The question is whether that is a good business on sale or a fair price for a legacy platform facing disintermediation from next-generation AI architectures.
Salesforce sells the customer relationship software that companies run their sales and service teams on, and it owns Slack. Deutsche Telekom and FIFA both expanded their AI spending with Salesforce in fiscal Q2 2027. Revenue over the trailing twelve months was $43.94 billion, up 11.2%. The three-year average revenue growth rate is 9.9% a year—ahead of the S&P 500 median of 8.3%—making the last twelve months the faster of the two.
Free cash flow over the same window was $15.15 billion, a 7.6% yield on the market value. Operating margin over those twelve months is 21.5% against an S&P 500 median of 18.6%, and the margin did not thin against the year before.
Free cash flow in fiscal Q2 2027 was $1.1 billion, up 81% from a year earlier. That is one quarter. For the whole of fiscal 2027 management guides free cash flow growth of 4% to 5%, against revenue guided up 11% to 12%, so cash is set to grow at less than half the pace of the top line.
License revenue is a headwind and integration and ******* ytics revenue is volatile, management says, though both only partially offset growth in the newer lines. Tommy McMillen and Marwan Rahiki turned in one of the best featherweight fights ever earlier today (Sat., Sept. 12, 2026) at Noche UFC 4 LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, as the two prospects stood toe-to-toe and unleashed everything they had.
Both fighters came into this fight with something to prove. For McMillen, it was his chance to prove he's the real deal at 145 pounds and not just an exciting fighter from the Contender Series. For Rahiki, he was out to showcase his own potential in the UFC's talent-rich featherweight division and that he should get a bigger push from matchmakers instead of McMillen. It was a recipe for unfiltered chaos and that's exactly what fight fans witnessed.
The first round was a back-and-forth affair full of combinations and exchanges in close. McMillen showcased some of his wrestling along the way, but Rahiki did well to get back to his feet. The second round was even crazier as Rahiki landed a massive uppercut that sent McMillen crashing to the canvas. Rahiki chased McMillen all over the cage in search of a finish, but "Gun" somehow survived. It was a true testament to McMillen's heart, toughness, and elite cardio.
McMillen returned the favor in the third round when he regained momentum with a huge knockdown in the center of the Octagon. From there, McMillen was on cruise control. He attacked with chokes, combinations in the clinch, knees inside, and all-out pressure. Rahiki was fading for sure, but he somehow hung in long enough to hear the final buzzer sound. It was one of the wildest three-round fights you'll ever see and another reason why McMillen is one of the quickest rising stars in the sport.

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Cam Edwards rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns and Alessio Milivojevic tossed two touchdown passes Saturday to help Michigan State to a 35-7 victory over Eastern Michigan.
The Spartans (2-0) broke away from a close game at the start of the third quarter with two quick touchdowns. Edwards ran for 2 yards on the first score and Milivojevic threw a 38-yard pass to Charles Taplin to put Michigan State up 28-7. Jazium Patterson also added 7-yard score midway through the fourth quarter.
Milivojevic completed 12 of 20 passes for 170 yards as the Spartans outgained the Eagles (1-2) 472-219.
Michigan State took a 14-7 halftime lead on Milivojevic's 18-yard touchdown pass to Fredrick Moore and Edwards' 1-yard run.
The Spartans led 14-0 after Edwards scored with 8:45 left in the second quarter, but Eastern Michigan responded with a 78-yard drive. Noah Kim scored on a 4-yard run with 1:50 remaining. The Eagles (1-2) were able to move the ball throughout the half but struggled to convert drives.

Girona lost 1-2 against Castellón at Montilivi in a match they had under control but let slip away in the final stretch. The Girona team took an early lead but ended up paying a high price for playing with ten men for more than half an hour.
Quique Álvarez's team started with determination and found their reward in the 7th minute. Zamorano capitalized on a rebound from the visiting goalkeeper to score a volley and make it 1-0. Shortly after, however, Bryan Gil had to leave the field due to muscle discomfort, a setback that disrupted the home team's plans.
Girona held off the advances of a Castellón side that gradually gained ground but managed to reach halftime in the lead. In the second half, the match definitively turned when Abel Ruiz received a second yellow card, leaving the team with ten players.
With a numerical advantage, Castellón increasingly dominated Girona, who defended their lead as best they could. However, their resistance crumbled in the final moments. Sienra scored the 1-1 in the 85th minute, and just five minutes later, Álvaro García completed the comeback with the 1-2.
Girona tried until the end but could not find the goal that would have allowed them to salvage at least a point. A painful defeat at Montilivi, after a match that Girona had in their hands but ultimately lost due to being a man down and Castellón's late surge.

Henry Winkler is "still working on his perspective" about his relationship with Tom Hanks.
Winkler, 80, gained notoriety for playing Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli on Happy Days, and first crossed paths with Hanks when the now-70-year-old actor landed a guest star role in a 1982 episode of the sitcom.

Reading High (1-2) led 32-0 at halftime. Jahleer Nunn had touchdown runs of 7 and 5 yards, Wilkins his 17-yarder, Makye Lias an 11-yard TD scamper and Jason Reyes a 24-yard TD run in the first half. Reyes gained 50 yards in the game on just three carries.
Reading opens its Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 1 season on Friday at home (Shirk Stadium at Albright College) against Penn Manor.

FSU trailed for 20 minutes before Buckley sent in a cross from the right wing to find a leaping Wrianna Hudson, who headed home her third goal of the season to tie the game at one. Despite chances on both ends, the game remained tied going into halftime.
While it took longer than the opening goal of the game, the Wolfpack regained the lead quickly in the second half thanks to a 57th-minute goal from Daisy Duda. She bent a ball across the penalty area and into the top left corner to put NC State ahead 2-1.

Eli Lilly (LLY) stock has gained about 56% over the past year, moving from $722.65 to $1,123.91. Before that run the company was doing something strange. It was deliberately selling less medicine than people wanted to buy, and it kept saying so out loud.
In early February 2025 the CEO said the capacity Lilly had already built was not enough to meet global demand, and that the company was still gating promotion and gating launches around the world. That is a company telling you its reported revenue understates what its products could sell.
The build was landing. Lilly produced more than 1.6 times as many salable incretin doses in the first half of 2025 as it had made in the first half of 2024. The rationed business was already lucrative: trailing-twelve-month operating margin as of fiscal Q2 2025 ran at 42.1%, against its own three-year average of 32.7%. A business earning that much with the tap half closed has an obvious next chapter.
Four weeks before the run began, the CFO was specific about where. Commercial activity behind the recent launches in Brazil, China, India, and Mexico was being kept deliberately measured, so that demand would not outrun supply.
Then look at where the growth landed a year later. In the second quarter of 2026, China revenue grew 93% in constant currency, and rest-of-world revenue grew 136% in constant currency, driven by Mounjaro, primarily in Latin America and Asia. China is on both lists; Latin America and Asia cover the rest. The volume was waiting.

It's expected to feature a 7.8-inch internal display, a 5.3-inch external screen, an A20 Pro chip, and a thickness of just 4.5mm unfolded, with pricing estimated between $1,999 and $2,399 and limited initial supply. It marks Apple's entry into the foldable category years after rivals — a potentially major new product cycle for one of the world's most valuable companies.
Here's the pattern every ETF investor should understand before today's close. Nearly two decades of data show that Apple tends to "sell the news" on launch day itself. AAPL averages a roughly 0.3% decline on iPhone launch days, with a median drop of about 0.6% — the classic case of anticipation being priced in before the reveal.
But the weakness rarely lasts. Apple has averaged a 0.5% gain the very next session (positive in 15 of 24 releases), and the longer-term picture is decisively bullish: AAPL has gained in the 60 days following an iPhone reveal 17 times since the original 2007 launch. The biggest such move was a 20% gain in the 60 days after the iPhone 11 reveal in 2019. In other words, launch-day dips have historically been buying opportunities, not warning signs. **** ysts have also downplayed fears about the ~$2,000 foldable price tag, arguing a premium halo product is unlikely to dent Apple's overall economics.

Elena Rybakina has reached her first US Open final after overcoming Coco Gauff 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 in a three-set semifinal at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Thursday. The 27-year-old Kazakh rallied from a set down to book a championship meeting with defending champion Aryna Sabalenka.
Gauff took control early, using strong play from the back of the court to force errors from Rybakina. The American secured the only break of the opening set in the sixth game and converted the advantage into a 6-3 lead.
Rybakina responded in the second set by breaking early to move ahead 4-1. Gauff fought back to level the set at 4-4, but Rybakina regained the advantage with another break in the 10th game. She closed out the set 6-4 to force a deciding set.

U.S. Dollar Index is losing some ground as traders focus on Treasury's decision to boost bond buybacks to $6 billion. Bessent continues his attempts to put pressure on yields, but they are rising amid rally in the oil markets. Worries about long-term sustainability of U.S. finances also push yields higher.
The yield of 10-year Treasuries climbed towards the 4.85% level, while the yield of 30-year Treasuries tested the psychologically important 5.30% level.
U.S. Dollar Index continues its attempts to settle below the support level at 98.60 – 98.75. In case U.S. Dollar Index manages to settle below the 98.60 level, it will head towards the next support at 97.70 – 97.85. RSI is in the moderate territory, so there is plenty of room to gain additional downside momentum in the near term.
EUR/USD gained some ground as traders prepared for ECB Interest Rate Decision, which will be released tomorrow. ***** ysts expect that ECB will raise the interest rate from 2.4% to 2.65% due to rising oil prices.
The European Central Bank is forced to raise rates as the EU economy will face inflationary pressure due to high energy prices. It remains to be seen whether winter will be cold, but energy prices will likely stay high anyway.

Brent crude traded close to $100 a barrel on Wednesday, reaching levels last seen in July as markets ****** sed further military activity in the Middle East and its potential impact on regional oil supplies.
At 0614 GMT, Brent crude futures were up 1.3% at $99.22 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude gained 1.2% to $94.13 a barrel.
Brent has risen approximately 25% since early August as fighting in the six-month conflict resumed and expectations for a permanent resolution diminished.
The conflict escalated on Tuesday as Iranian-backed Houthi forces in Yemen carried out strikes against several Saudi Arabian cities.
U.S. forces also struck multiple Iranian oil tankers, while Iran targeted a U.S. base in Jordan and attacked vessels.

Gold prices moved higher on Wednesday, returning above $4,400 an ounce after three consecutive sessions of declines as the U.S. dollar weakened and investors ***** sed the outlook for Federal Reserve interest rates and developments in the Middle East.
At 22:04 ET (06:04 GMT), spot gold rose 1.1% to $4,402.41 an ounce, while gold futures gained 0.2% to $4,445.85.
Other precious metals also advanced. Spot silver increased 1.5% to $66.76 an ounce and platinum rose 1.6% to $1,848.23. The U.S. Dollar Index declined 0.2% to 98.70.

Shares of the tech giant have often exhibited a modest sell-the-news reaction immediately following launch events before recovering in the subsequent 30-60 days, according to new ***** ysis from Bank of America ***** yst Wamsi Mohan on Tuesday.
Apple's stock has gained in the 60 days following an iPhone reveal day 17 times, dating back to the 2007 smartphone launch, Mohan's research found.
The biggest gain was 20%, recorded 60 days after the iPhone 11 reveal in 2019.
