The Philadelphia 76ers are going to need rookie Labaron Philon Jr. to step in and produce right away as the No. 22 pick in the 2026 draft. The Sixers selected Philon with the expectation that he will be the lead guard for the second unit alongside Anfernee Simons.
In order to prepare for what's to come in his maiden season, Philon has spent a majority of the offseason in the gym looking to work on his craft and get the much-needed reps he needs in the gym to show what he can do on a regular basis.
In the latest video footage of the Rico Hines Runs at UCLA, Philon continues to impress and show his skill alongside fellow Sixers teammate VJ Edgecombe.

Roberto De Zerbi has omitted Richarlison from his Premier League squad for Tottenham Hotspur's upcoming season, while injured duo Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert have both been included.
Every Premier League club is required to register a 25-man squad comprising a maximum of 17 non-homegrown players and eight homegrown players. Spurs had one more non-homegrown player than permitted, forcing De Zerbi to drop someone from the roster.
Richarlison was informed he would not feature in De Zerbi's plans for the season prior to the Premier League transfer deadline, giving him the opportunity to depart the North London club once a suitable offer was received, according to football.london.

FRIENDSVILLE — Abington Heights had a strong showing at the Ann Marie Simons Classic girls golf tournament Tuesday.
Senior Brianna Moffatt shot a 5-over-par 75 at Tall Pines Players Club to capture the individual ******* le by one stroke over Honesdale junior Marley Reynolds. Teammates Margot Grad and Liz George each shot 82 with Grad taking third place on a match of cards.
Their efforts gave the Lady Comets the team ******* le with a score of 239. Riverside was second with 267 and Elk Lake third with 272.
George wound up winning low-senior honors, while Molly Nietz of Abington Heights was low freshman with 101. North Pocono's Julia Biko was low junior with an 86 and Hannah LaRue from Elk Lake was low sophomore with an 87.
"Coming in I felt confident they were going to do well," Abington Heights coach Ed Bath said. "They've really progressed in their games, especially with the mental part of the game; their maturity with decision-making out on the golf course and playing the golf course as it's presented to them. Just in what I could see out there, I saw some good decisions being made as golfers and executing those decisions. They all kind of shot right around their averages thus far this year, which again is indicative to that good, mental approach to golf. I think they did a great job."

The saga of not one, but TWO summers is finally at an end. Savinho has officially joined Tottenham Hotspur!
We are delighted to announce the signing of Sávio from Manchester City ✍️
The Brazilian winger, who will wear #17 (which fits nicely with his move to N17), has transferred from Manchester City for a reported £75 million plus £10 million add-ons. It's a hefty fee for a promising talent, but one that is supposedly offset by some transfer shenanigans around a double signing from City, with Omar Marmoush the second player reportedly joining for a lower fee to offset a sell-on clause inserted by Eintracht Frankfurt in his shift to City.
It's a big signing for Spurs. The Lilywhites have been in desperate need of quality in attack, and have arguably over-invested in late-peak players this summer who are unlikely to develop further. Savinho, or Savio, is somebody who is still early in his career and will have the ability to grow and develop in the coming seasons… at least that's the hope. And he's already a pretty decent player!
There was a nice touch from the club as well, as they welcomed him with a video from Xavi Simons, previously teammates with Savio at PSV Eindhoven:

Rajon Rondo: "Other teams that they don't fit. No disrespect to anybody but obviously Golden State, they are too old. LeBron James would have had to play too much, it would have been too much on his plate. To me, Miami doesn't have enough shooting at all, so they won't be difficult to kind of get with in the playoffs. And then, what was the other team? I guess Cleveland maybe? So, no, I don't see that. That's not a good fit. Him, James, and Donovan, no, that's not a good fit. But Maxey, who always plays without the ball, the way that he can shoot the basketball, Anfernee Simons, like we mentioned, we mentioned RJ, one of my favorite underrated guards in the league coming off the bench. I mean, it is going to be crazy. And let's not talk about the man in charge, Nick Nurse."

PHILADELPHIA -- As the Philadelphia 76ers move forward, there will be much to figure out. The Sixers have a supreme amount of talent on this roster with the additions of Jaylen Brown and LeBron James in the starting lineup along with the depth additions of Dean Wade, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Anfernee Simons.
There are a lot of questions that the Sixers will have to address with this current group. The simple one is the offensive hierarchy. The Sixers have a ton of offensive weapons as Brown, James, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey all averaged 20-plus points in the 2025-26 season.
Brown knows all about sacrifice from his time with the Boston Celtics. He will look to bring that same leadership to Philadelphia and help the Sixers figure it out.
"To be honest, it doesn't have to be anybody's team," Brown started. "It just needs to be based in respect and work. That's my approach. I want to earn everyone's respect and trust. Which takes time. There's obviously a lot of guys with talent and there's egos, but to win, you've got to be able to sacrifice. You've got to be able to have trust and communication."
Transparency will be a big thing for the Sixers. Everybody will have to be up front about what's important with this group ad the ultimate goal should be winning a championship. This franchise has not won a ****** le since 1983 nor been past Round 2 since 2001. That's a long time. Brown and Co. will have to focus on what really matters.

OH Leuven have once again changed manager to start the season. Felice Mazzu is out, with former Dender and Westerlo man Timmy Simons coming in. Can he finally help a side with a decent financial backing live up to its potential? Or will Leicester City's relegation from the second tier of English football diverted attention away from OH Leuven and towards the struggling foxes?
Transfers in: Emmanuel Addai (Qarabag), Jamie Lawrence (WSG Tirol), Takuya Ogiwara (Urawa Red Diamonds), Shin Yamada (Celtic), Dani van den Heuvel (Club Brugge), Lukasz Lakomy (Young Boys, converted loan)
Transfers out: Romeo Monticelli (Francs Borains), Casper Terho (Sparta Rotterdam), Takuma Ominami (Varen Nagasaki), Sory Kaba (Al-Dhafra), Takahiro Akimoto (Machida Zelvia), Theo Radelet (RAAL La Louviere), Youssef Maziz (Colorado), Mathieu Maertens (free), Maxence Prevot (Dunkerque)
Key player: Siebe Schrijvers
As a younger player, Schijvers was seen as a striker/winger, but in recent years he has converted into a very good central midfielder. The 30-year-old has been OH Leuven's best player for a number of years now, and will once again be key to their success this season. Injuries hampered him somewhat last season, with 30 games played and three goals scored. Keeping Schrijvers fit is key for an OH Leuven side that doesn't have much recognisable Pro League quality.

The Philadelphia 76ers are looking like a much different team as they head into the 2026-27 season. New President of Basketball Operations Mike Gansey looks to build a strong roster around the team's talented core. The Sixers have been unable to get over the hump in the past, but Gansey and Co. have made steps towards fixing that problem.
The Sixers began the offseason by selecting Labaron Philon Jr. with the No. 22 overall pick and then went out and brought in Dean Wade, Ariel Hukporti, and Anfernee Simons in free agency. Then, the Sixers swung for the fences with the blockbuster trade to bring in Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics. Then they landed the biggest name in free agency in LeBron James before landing a deal with 2-time champion Kentavious Caldwell-Pope as another depth piece.
Here's an updated look at the depth chart for the Sixers as they move forward:
Starter: Tyrese Maxey
Depth chart: Labaron Philon Jr., Anfernee Simons, Caleb Love (two-way)

Anfernee Simons understands his new sixth-man role with the refreshed 76ers originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
For the 2026-27 season, the Philadelphia 76ers will be one of the exciting teams because of LeBron James' arrival. However, they are much more than that because they also have more additions, including All-NBA player Jaylen Brown and explosive scorer Anfernee Simons.
Considering he is not an established star, Simons is not the most popular player for the 76ers. However, people might be surprised because he can be one of the most impactful players due to his skill set as an offensive player, especially as a dynamic scorer.
Dating back to his days with the Portland Trail Blazers, Simons has always been an explosive scorer. He thrives without the ball in his hands, as he loves getting open with smart off-ball movement. His three-point shooting is elite, especially when he serves as a spot-up shooter.
Playing off elite players like James, Brown, and Embiid can open up all kinds of opportunities for him to shine. He already has experience playing with Brown and other top-level players like Damian Lillard, so this won't be a problem for Simons to adjust to this kind of role.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan believes newly-appointed Test coach Stephen Fleming should have taken charge immediately instead of delaying his arrival until England's tour of South Africa later this year.

Fleming was named England's new Test coach after Brendon McCullum was removed from the role earlier this month, though the New Zealander has retained his position as the team's white-ball coach. However, Fleming will not oversee England during the upcoming three-Test home series against Pakistan, which begins on August 19 at Headingley.

Questioning the decision, Vaughan said England would miss an opportunity to help Fleming settle into the role before bigger ***** ignments such as the Ashes.

"Stephen Fleming is a good appointment as England's Test coach, but he should be in position for the start of the Pakistan series, rather than taking over fully for the South Africa tour in December," Vaughan wrote in the Telegraph.

"It is about the small details, gaining experience of going to grounds such as Edgbaston – which hosts an Ashes Test – getting to know people involved in English cricket and fact-finding about our game by meeting the county coaches who can help him. These are the one-per-cent details England let slip during the Brendon McCullum years but are required to win major trophies."

Vaughan also suggested that England agreeing to Fleming's preferred timeline reflected a shift in the appeal of the coaching role.

"It also suggests the England job has lost a little of its allure because he does not feel he must start immediately. It also shows a little bit of desperation that England were willing to appoint a candidate on his terms, rather than their own," he added.

Fleming arrives in England after an extraordinary stint with Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. During his 17-year ***** ociation with the franchise, he guided the team to five IPL ***** les and two Champions League trophies alongside captain MS Dhoni before stepping down earlier this month.

Vaughan, however, warned that the former New Zealand skipper would be walking into a very different environment, pointing out that England captain Joe Root does not offer the same dynamic that Dhoni did at Chennai.

"Fleming is very well respected, renowned for being a very good manager and tactician. I've seen him at the IPL, and one of the problems he might discover in English cricket is that we do not have an MS Dhoni to be his captain.
132758097
"Dhoni ran the ship at Chennai Super Kings, and Fleming had some really good backroom coaches as well. Eric Simons was a wonderful bowling coach for him, a master at getting the white ball to swing. His team was built around skill with the ball, not express pace. I wonder whether that is an indication that the skill side of bowling will come back into the England Test team rather than just out-and-out speed," Vaughan wrote.

On Friday, the basketball world was sent into a frenzy with the news that NBA free agent LeBron James was signing with the Philadelphia 76ers, per ESPN's Shams Charania.
Among the greatest players in NBA history, James' reported signing is one that immediately put the spotlight on the Sixers' projected 2026-27 roster. On that roster is a name familiar to Alabama basketball fans in Labaron Philon Jr., a former Crimson Tide guard whom Philadelphia recently selected in the first round of the 2026 NBA draft.
Set to enter his rookie season this upcoming fall, Philon will now look to make an impact for a Philadelphia team that is likely to be among the preseason favorites to win a NBA ****** le this upcoming season. However, just how big of an impact could that be, and did Philadelphia's reported signing of James change that in any way?
Prior to the Sixers' signing of James, Philon projected as Philadelphia's backup point guard, and that role will likely not change following Friday's reported news. Philon will be the backup to starter Tyrese Maxey.
However, what does remain a question is just how much minutes Philon sees a game, as the former Alabama star is set to join a loaded Sixers backcourt. Not only is Philon behind Maxey, a two-time All-Star and 25+ points per game scorer, on the depth chart, but Philadelphia also has VJ Edgecombe and Anfernee Simons, though both are likely to see a majority of action at the two-guard.

Following four-time MVP LeBron James' historic decision to shock the world by joining the Philadelphia 76ers, the news was met with elation by those in the City of Brotherly Love, including Pennsylvania governor Josh Shapiro, who already officially declared July 24 to be known as LeBron James Day in the state.
And the elation in Philadelphia is more than justified, as the 76ers now have as good a chance as anyone of taking home the 2026-27 NBA championship, with James set to be signed to one of the best value contracts in league history. Lest we forget, although James is now 41, he still put up a 21/7/6 stat line last season while having to share the ball with the likes of Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.
James will now be signed to a deal that will pay him just $3.9 million next campaign, so we're having a hard time figuring out a player who might give their team a better bang for their buck than James will for Philadelphia next season at that salary.
And that was without even discussing the fact that Philadelphia also managed to get rid of Paul George this offseason, while adding Jaylen Brown and Anfernee Simons. Simply put, the Sixers are going to be an absolute force, at least on the offensive end, next season, and should be seen by everyone as a top ****** le contender.
However, there is some business the team still has to take care of.

In case one has missed it, LeBron James is now a member of the Philadelphia 76ers. He will be joining a roster with Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe. Jaylen Brown, and Joel Embiid already featured while also having some serious depth with Dean Wade, Anfernee Simons, Labaron Philon Jr., and others. This is a roster as talented as any in the Eastern Conference.
The Sixers got James on a 2-year $8 million deal as they only had so much money left to spend in free agency. After playing the waiting game to make it work and bring him in on a deal, the Sixers were able to come out as the big winners of the offseason, if they weren't already.
In terms of the details of his contract, Spotrac has the details on his deal that includes a player option for the 2027-28 season.
The Sixers will be looking to reach the mountaintop and win their first championship since 1983 following the busy offseason and will look to move forward with the future Hall of Famer on the roster.

The Philadelphia 76ers have had a busy offseason with the additions they made in free agency and in the trade market. President of Basketball Operations Mike Gansey has been working hard to build a roster that can compete for a championship and look to make the big leap in the Eastern Conference.
The Sixers, obviously, swung the big deal to acquire Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics in exchange for Paul George, two first-round picks, and two second-round picks, but they also signed Dean Wade, Anfernee Simons, and Ariel Hukporti in free agency. They also selected Alabama guard Labaron Philon Jr. with the No. 22 pick in the draft to add to the roster.
ESPN graded each team's offseason and gave the Sixers an A- grade:
Regardless of Jaylen Brown's precise value, turning 36-year-old Paul George into a 29-year-old All-NBA wing is a big win for Philadelphia. The forward positions have long been a concern for the 76ers, but they're on much firmer ground now with Brown and Dean Wade, and Brown is specifically a strong fit next to Joel Embiid because of his reliability.
The 76ers' roster isn't perfect -- it lacks some shooting and is still too reliant on Embiid for its size -- but Philadelphia at least has a narrow path to the Finals now, when such a route didn't exist before this summer.

The First Coast and Georgia's Golden Isles will be sending a sizable contingent of players to the 154th Open Championship, July 16-19 at Royal Birkdale, in Southport, England.
The group is led by three past champions: Jacksonville native David Duval (2001, Royal Lytham and St. Annes), Cameron Smith of Ponte Vedra Beach (2022, St. Andrews) and Brian Harman of St. Simons Island, Ga. (2023, Royal Liverpool).
Duval, now with the PGA Tour Champions, will make his 25th start in the Open, and his first since 2022. Harman, Harris English of St. Simons Island and Billy Horschel of Ponte Vedra Beach are all making their 11th starts in golf's oldest championship.
At the other end of the experience spectrum will be Nease graduate Marcus Plunkett, who has been playing on the Asian Tour, Michael Brennan of Jacksonville and Michael Thorbjornsen of Jacksonville. They are playing in their first British Open and in Plunkett's case, his first major.

76ers officially beat out Lakers, Spurs for $38 million ex-Cavaliers elite defender originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
When it's all said and done, it isn't far-fetched to suggest the Philadelphia 76ers will have a strong case for being crowned one of the biggest winners of the offseason.
In addition to adding Jaylen Brown to the fold in shocking fashion, the 76ers signed former Boston Celtics sharpshooter Anfernee Simons to give them an electric second-unit scorer with valuable experience in a large NBA market.
Philadelphia also brought $38 million (career earnings) ex-Cleveland Cavaliers elite defender Dean Wade on board.
The Kansas product was reportedly linked to contending organizations such as the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs, but the 76ers ultimately closed the deal on June 30 Philadelphia finalized the transaction on Monday.

LAS VEGAS -- The Philadelphia 76ers have had a busy offseason as President of Basketball Operations Mike Gansey has been aggressive in terms of being able to build a roster around the team's stars.
Gansey and the front office were active in free agency with the additions of Dean Wade, Anfernee Simons, and Ariel Hukporti before pulling the trigger on the big Jaylen Brown acquisition. The free agent additions won't get the fanfare that the Brown trade has received, but all of those additions will help.
Specifically, Simons will give coach Nick Nurse a reliable ball-handler and scorer off the bench that he can turn to and take some pressure off Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe in terms of the workload.
"I mean, I think it's really important for us both him and (Labaron) Philon," said Nurse. "I think both of them are handlers that can play some pick-and-roll and score the ball. Both of them are super athletes. Like, to me, if you've got that athleticism, which both of them do, you can impact defensively too, right? So, again, I think just shifts. It seems like we got a lot faster, a lot more athletic. Yeah, there's some other issues. We might be a touch small at times and things like whatever, but I certainly take the speed and athleticism. Then it's just up to our staff to get these guys put them in the right spot."
To Nurse's point, the Sixers have certainly gotten smaller. Maxey is 6-foot-2, Philon is 6-foot-3, Edgecombe is 6-foot-4, and Simons is 6-foot-3. There will be times when Philadelphia will struggle both defensively and on the glass, but Nurse is excited about the potential of this group. Simons, especially, brings a big scoring ability off the bench that will give the Sixers a different look than in the past.

And because of that, it could actually be tougher to sign LeBron.

76ers officially outbid Warriors for 6-foot-3 ex-Celtics sharpshooting guard originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Following the Philadelphia 76ers' blockbuster trade for Jaylen Brown, two roster needs became clear for the franchise: a game-changing starting power forward and the perfect second-unit wing scorer.
While the 76ers are still working on finding a high-caliber PF whom the organization could easily slot into their starting lineup, they succeeded in outbidding the Golden State Warriors for dynamic 6-foot-3 ex-Boston Celtics sharpshooter who's destined to deliver the goods for Philadelphia off the bench.
The 76ers officially announced the deal on Monday.

Paul also noted that as much as winning matters at James' next destination, the conversations are about "everything" and are "deeper than the average person would think about." Paul, who's had a relationship with James for 25 years, didn't elaborate but admitted that Philadelphia's acquisition of Jaylen Brown is a "great thing" that could help James choose the Sixers. Paul also has ties to Philadelphia, serving as the agent for Sixers star Tyrese Maxey and former point guard Ben Simmons through Klutch Sports Group. — 7/9/2026 New York Times
Bob Myers didn't mind laying out a case for the Sixers, who feel they've seriously strengthened their team by trading for Jaylen Brown. They've also drafted Labaron Philon Jr. and signed Dean Wade, Anfernee Simons and Ariel Hukporti. "When you're talking about the Sixers, if he was here I'd say, 'I honestly believe this is your best chance to win. You have to decide all the other things that are equally important.' It's his life, right? He has to play. He has to face the scrutiny of his decision," Myers said. "Half the people will say, 'You should've done this' or 'You should've done that' and criticize him for whatever. It's his life; he's been through all that. What I would just say is, 'If it's about winning, let's talk about this team, because you can win here in Philadelphia.'" — 7/8/2026 NBC Sports Philadelphia

The Philadelphia 76ers are in the midst of a busy offseason led by a new front office regime. The Sixers parted ways with Daryl Morey after six seasons and hired Mike Gansey as their new President of Basketball Operations following the decision.
Gansey has been aggressive in his first offseason running a basketball operations department. After 14 seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and serving as their GM since 2022, Gansey has added helpful players Dean Wade, Ariel Hukporti, and Anfernee Simons in free agency while also pulling the trigger on a blockbuster deal for Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics. It's clear he is working on making the Sixers true contenders.
Wade, who played his entire seven seasons in the league with the Cavs, gave insight into what kind of person Gansey is as he rejoins him in Philadelphia.
"Mike Gansey, he's a great person," said Wade on Tuesday. "He's got a great family as well. My wife knows his wife really well from, you know, the past seven years, but I think Mike was a big reason I was in Cleveland. I got an opportunity at a two-way, I think he had a big say in that coming in every day for the past seven years, and he was one of the first people you see when you come in for summer workouts."
Gansey never played in the league, but he was able to play Division One while at West Virginia and had a lot of success. He was named to the All-Big East team in 2006 and averaged 12.8 points and 5.2 rebounds while shooting 39.5% from deep in his collegiate career at, first, St. Bonaventure and then West Virginia.

The Philadelphia 76ers made a number of big moves in free agency with the additions of Dean Wade, Anfernee Simons, and Ariel Hukporti. All three of the free agency moves, along with the blockbuster trade to acquire Jaylen Brown, should allow the Sixers to climb the ladder in the East and seriously contend with the defending champion New York Knicks.
Simons, especially, feels like a player who can seriously stabilize the bench unit. He averaged 14.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.4 **** ists while shooting 44% from the floor and 38.5% from deep. He averaged 6.9 attempts per night split between the Chicago Bulls and the Boston Celtics.
After playing 55 games in 2025-26, the recruiting process for the Sixers started with Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Jameer Nelson who put in a call to Simons' family.
"Obviously, taking a few calls from different teams, and my agent told me, I got a call from Jameer—Jameer called my parents," Simons said via Zoom on Tuesday. "I talked to Nick (Nurse), and I just felt like at the time that was probably the best fit for me when it comes to positional need, and kind of wanting to go out there and compete for a championship. I think it was the best opportunity for me to do that."
Simons will lead the bench unit and be the main backup guard to Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe, but he will certainly play in lineups with either player. There will be combinations with Simons and Maxey as well as Simons and Edgecombe. The whole point of having a guy like him is his ability to help with the ball-handling as well as being that guy who can put the ball in the basket in the blink of an eye.

The Philadelphia 76ers had a busy day on Monday as the league's moratorium was lifted and it meant that transactions could become official. That meant the Sixers had to make some announcements following some of the business they conducted to begin the offseason.
Philadelphia was busy in free agency with the signings of Dean Wade, Ariel Hukporti, and Anfernee Simons while also pulling off a blockbuster deal in acquiring Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics. On Monday, the Sixers were able to make those additions official and they all received social media posts.
Sixers guard VJ Edgecombe took to his Instagram to welcome the new additions on his story.
The Sixers will now be looking to make sure everybody is on the same page. Brown will now have to find his role and his rhythm while playing next to guys like Edgecombe, Tyrese Maxey, and Joel Embiid. If he can do it, and one has to believe he will, then Philadelphia will be in good shape. The additions of Wade and Simons will also help in a number of ways.
Hukporti's deal has yet to become official.

The Philadelphia 76ers have been busy to begin the offseason as new President of Basketball Operations Mike Gansey looks to build a strong roster around the team's talented core.
Philadelphia is feeling confident about its chances to make a run in the East.
With that said, here's an updated look at the depth chart for the Sixers as they move forward:
Starter: Tyrese Maxey
Depth chart: Labaron Philon Jr., Anfernee Simons Caleb Love (two-way)

76ers get perfect grade for savvy $12.3 million free agency signing originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been the stars of NBA free agency so far.
Obviously, the biggest news was the team pulling off a heist for Jaylen Brown. Somehow, the team was able to get one of the best players in the NBA for just some picks and Paul George. That clearly makes the 76ers a big winner, but one of their recent signings was also a great move.
The 76ers inked guard Anfernee Simons to a two-year deal worth $12.3 million. That move won't make the most headlines, but it could end up paying huge dividends.
Bleacher Report's NBA staff is giving out instant grades for every deal of NBA free agency. Regarding the Simons deal, the BR staff gave the 76ers an A+. The following **** ysis was offered:

A new report reveals three big guards are on the Miami Heat’s wish list to join Giannis Antetokounmpo in the 2026-27 season. However, a fan-favorite former member of the roster is not being looked at for a reunion.
After months of rumors and speculation, the Heat were able to do something last week that their fanbase has long hoped for. They completed a blockbuster trade for the Milwaukee Bucks legend. However, the trade thinned out their roster significantly, and they must now look to add meaningful talent around Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo at an affordable rate.
A variety of players have been linked to the Heat in recent days. However, according to the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson and Anthony Chiang, three sizable veteran guards are among the targets for the organization right now.
“A source said some of the bigger guards on Miami’s radar are 6-4 Bradley Beal, 6-3 Anfernee Simons and 6-5 Kentavious Caldwell Pope (who is expected to part ways with the Grizzlies)”

Could there be mutual interest in a trade that sends star Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown to the Detroit Pistons for rising Pistons big man Jalen Duren? Based on what Bleacher Report contributor Jake Fischer has been hearing, while all parties that would be needed to sign on for such a move to happen are not publicly signaling that such a trade might actually go down, there are some rumbles that hint that this might be something to keep an eye on as well.
According to Fischer in a recent video with his Stein Line substack co-contributor Marc Stein, we should not yet discount the possibility. "Would Detroit be interested in Jalen Brown for Jalen Duren?" he asked. "So far, I have been told that the Pistons don't really have interest in signing and trading Jalen Duren at all. But the gap in negotiations is big enough that Duren is out here meeting with (the) Sacramento (Kings) and meeting with the (Los Angeles) Lakers."
"And ... I have been told that Duren has interest in going to Boston in the event that those talks could happen," he added, which would presumably use Boston's $27.7 million Anfernee Simons Traded Player Exception to pull off. "The longer that Jaylen Brown lingers ... out there as being available, I do wonder if Detroit would talk themselves into (saying), 'Man, we can't find a resolution here with Duren; would bringing back an MVP candidate in Jaylen Brown be something that makes sense for us?' I do wonder."
"It's not something that's going to happen tonight," said Fischer. "But if we wake up on Friday and Jalen Duren is still unsigned – and we know how this restricted free agency dynamic can stretch out. All of Josh Giddey and Quentin Grimes and Jonathan ****** inga lasted into September last year."
I'm not saying right now I'm forecasting that either Jalen Duren or Walker Kessler are going to linger that much longer. But I don't see an end point right now. Those sides are far apart, Duren and Kessler himself with (the) Utah (Jazz) and Detroit respectively."
