As the 2026 college football season swiftly approaches, USA TODAY Sports revealed their full Big Ten stadium rankings for the 18-member conference.
While there is no true way to compose a ranking outside of a subjective nature, the Big Ten's expansive list of historic venues certainly makes its difficult to appease all fan bases.
One could lean into the capacity, historic significance, or even the overall fit on campus. That being said, Kinnick Stadium earns its proper due as one of the league's top venues.

Iowa's 27-8 mark at home since 2021 has help the Hawkeyes maintain their place among the top programs in the Big Ten. Debuting in 2017, "The Hawkeye Wave" will have players and fans turn at the end of the opening quarter and wave to the patients at Stead Family Children's Hospital.

TORONTO (AP) — Amazon's Prime Video will exclusively broadcast Wednesday night national NHL regular-season games in Canada in English and French beginning next season as part of a new 12-year licensing agreement with Rogers Communications Inc. announced Tuesday.
The streaming service will also carry select Stanley Cup playoff series, including two first-round series and one second-round matchup annually.
The agreement spans the length of Rogers' $11 billion, 12-year deal with the NHL for national media rights on all platforms in Canada through the 2037-38 season. Terms were not disclosed.
"We're thrilled to expand our partnership with the NHL and Rogers in this landmark agreement, which brings even more premium live sports to Prime members in Canada," said Jay Marine, head of global sports at Prime Video.
Prime Video's lineup will include at least 26 national regular-season games, starting Sept. 30, and will be available to Prime subscribers in Canada at no additional cost; Rogers-owned Sportsnet retains the majority of national NHL games. A Rogers spokesperson said the playoff allocation will follow a draft format: Prime Video will receive the fourth and fifth selections among the eight first-round series and the third choice among the four second-round matchups.

The San Diego Padres have won three games in a row and will look to make that four games with a win against the Colorado Rockies who have a 2-4 record coming into the two-game series at Petco Park.
As is the case seemingly every season, the Rockies players are essentially auditioning for other teams around the league. It is understandable that the Colorado roster wants to play well.
The Padres are stuck in limbo of will they or won't they as the trade deadline approaches. The San Diego players have made no secret that they are aware of how important the next six games are to the team and the season. The Padres have built momentum despite a 5-5 road trip and will need a win today to keep the good vibes going.
Michael King came into the season as a co-ace with Nick Pivetta. He quickly became the sole ace when Pivetta went down with injury. King has not had a dominant season, but he has looked better over the last couple of outings. He is he lone pitcher in the San Diego rotation that is a threat to throw a complete game and time out.
Michael Lorenzen has had a down year, but that does not automatically mean the San Diego offense will have success against the Colorado right-hander. Lorenzen sits at 3-9 on the year and carries a 6.53 ERA. The Padres will have to jump on Lorenzen early and often to give King a chance to pitch with a lead.

The Golden State Warriors have re-signed veteran Draymond Green on a one-year $28 million deal after missing out on LeBron James, US media reported Tuesday.
Four-time NBA champion Green had last month declined the same contract in order to free up **** e in the Warriors' salary cap as they pursued free-agent superstar James.
But with James signing for the Philadelphia 76ers this week, both Green and Golden State agreed to renew on the previous terms.
The 36-year-old forward, who was on the Rio and Tokyo Olympic US gold medal teams, has spent his entire career with the Warriors since being selected in the 2012 NBA Draft.
Green played a key role alongside the likes of Stephen Curry in the dynasty that captured NBA **** les in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Patrick Surtain II felt like he was in a maze. Quinn Meinerz was glad his truck wasn't baking in the Colorado sun.
The Denver Broncos prepared to open training camp this week from their new $175 million headquarters, which was designed with players in mind.
"Oh, this is incredible," said Meinerz, the Broncos' perennial All-Pro guard. "I'm finding new things every time. I've just stayed on the first floor. I got to park underground. When I get done with practice my truck's not going to be 150 degrees. That's a nice little thing."
The Broncos will hold their first practice of their acclimation period Wednesday in the shadows of the new state-of-the-art facility funded by owners Greg Penner and Carrie Walton Penner.
It was designed to keep players from having to exert extra energy in a superfluous manner, such as long walks to their weight room like they had to make in their old headquarters across the football fields, buildings that will be torn down after training camp next month.

A beloved player amongst the Detroit Tigers players, coaches and fanbase had to make way for another on Tuesday, July 28.
The Tigers reinstated shortstop/center fielder Javier Báez from the 60-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. Detroit had to clear a roster spot on both the 26-man and 40-man roster since Báez was removed when he was placed on the 60-day list in June.
On Monday night following an 8-5 loss to the Orioles, manager A.J. Hinch and president of baseball operations Scott Harris sat down with backup catcher Jake Rogers and let him know he would be designated for ***** ignment.
Rogers, 31, has been a member of the Tigers' organization since he came over in the trade package for Justin Verlander from the Houston Astros in 2017. He made his major league debut with Detroit in 2019 and proceeded to appear in 362 games across six different seasons.
"Jake has been here as long as I have been here," Hinch said. "Scott, Jake and I met last night and did everything to walk down memory lane to just explain the timing and how decisions get made."

OXFORD — Ole Miss basketball coach Chris Beard has hired an ******* istant with a wealth of European basketball experience to his staff.
Petar Aleksić was named an ******* istant coach for the Rebels on July 28.
"Petar has built a reputation as a winner everywhere he's coached," Beard said in a school release. "His experience developing players, leading championship programs and competing at the highest levels of European basketball brings tremendous value to our staff. He's a teacher, a proven leader and someone who shares our commitment to building a championship culture at Ole Miss."
Beard was an ******* istant coach under Aleksić for the 2015 Swiss National Team in EuroBasket. That team upset Russia in the second qualifying round of the tournament. Aleksić also spent time with the Rebels in 2024-25 when Ole Miss reached the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.
Aleksić spent 10 seasons (2013-23) as the coach of Fribourg Olympic, a professional team, and has also served as coach of the Swiss men's national team from 2013-17. Aleksić had a 17-year professional playing career competing in the Yugoslav First and Second divisions, as well as in Hungary and Switzerland.

The Seattle Seahawks have waived running back Kenny McIntosh, a former Georgia Bulldog. McIntosh won Super Bowl 60 with the Seahawks last season, but it was bittersweet because McIntosh tore his ACL prior to the 2025 NFL season, so he watched Seattle's triumphant season from the sidelines.
McIntosh was placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list on July 20. Seattle elected to waive McIntosh, which means he is likely not healthy yet. McIntosh was expected to make $1.1 million in 2026 and was entering a contract year. He will now hope to find a new niche in the NFL.
McIntosh was a seventh-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft. He's appeared in 20 career NFL games including all 17 in 2024. McIntosh has 31 carries for 172 yards in his NFL career. He won national ***** les at Georgia in 2021 and 2022. McIntosh notably had 126 total yards and a touchdown in Georgia's comeback win over Ohio State in the College Football Playoff semifinals.
Seattle is also placing running back Zach Charbonnet on the PUP list. Charbonnet tore his ACL during Seattle's playoff run and is seeking to return in Week 1.
The Seahawks drafted Jadarian Price in the first-round of the 2026 NFL draft to help fill the void with Charbonnet possibly out and Kenneth Walker leaving via free agency. Seattle also has backup running backs George Holani and Emanuel Wilson.

The PGA Tour announced on Tuesday, July 28, the five-time major champion has withdrawn from the 2026 Rocket Classic after committing to the tournament on July 13.
Ben Silverman will take his place in the 147-player field that is now finalized (see full field and tee times below).
Koepka has had a unique schedule this year for a player as accomplished as himself. He had to earn his status back on the PGA Tour after leaving for the start-up rival LIV Golf from 2022-25.
Part of that has included stops at tournaments he has not typically played in to try and earn FedEx Cup points, such as playing the final Rocket Classic in Detroit, where he had never played before.

That's good news: the Viola needed to refresh a stale, ailing group. What I'm interested in, though, is the senior players the new sporting director has sold. No, I don't mean outcasts like Lucas Beltrán and Amir Richardson and Alessandro Bianco. I don't mean unfortunate salary casualty Robin Gosens. No, I mean all the academy-trained talent in the system.
Until the Viola create a B-team, it will lose a crop of academy kids every summer. Most of them never had a chance of breaking through to the first team. For the handful who might have the quality, finding an acceptable path within the club is difficult. The most common outcome is what happened to, say, Eduard Duțu last year: a promising young defender, he ended up on 7 loan deals before leaving Florence for good last year without ever making a senior appearance. Guys like Luca Ranieri—loans to Foggia, Ascoli, SPAL, and Salernitana before breaking through—are the exception. It's rare for to see one of these youngsters take that final step.
Young players matter to fans in a way they don't to the club itself. For fans, every 17-year-old who dribbles a 3rd-tier defender in preseason becomes a future star. That's not just luxurious thinking. We need that fantasy—the academy contains untold riches—because it reinforces two narratives that sustain us, especially through the lean years. First, we get to believe that we know ball and can identify buried talent because that allows us to think of ourselves as knowledgeable, superior, and in control of something over which we actually exert no control. Second, we get to think that Fiorentina is doing something better than other clubs, allowing us to enjoy vicarious success and prove to ourselves that there's a reason to support an organization that constantly falls short.
The other bit is that fans connect with kids they've watched grow up more than they do with senior players brought in on the open market. There are Borja Valero exceptions, of course, but in a vacuum, we'd all prefer an academy product more than a player of equal talent who transferred in. It demonstrates that the club's process is successful. It also provides a connection to the city: every time you see a kid like Tommaso Martinelli post a picture of himself as a child in the Curva Fiesole, it reinforces the depth of feeling the locals have for the club in a way that nothing else can.
Fiorentina has enjoyed unprecedented success at youth level in the Commisso era. Wayfarer Studios, which Baldoni cofounded with investor Steve Sarowitz, has been ordered to pay the legal fees that The New York Times incurred in fighting a 2024 defamation lawsuit from the "It Ends with Us" studio.
In a July 27 order from New York Supreme Court Justice Gerald Lebovits, which was reviewed by USA TODAY, The New York Times Co. was determined to be entitled to $171,616.20 in damages. The company was seeking $181,622.70 in fees billed by outside counsel and its in-house legal team, but Lebovits did not agree that some fees were warranted.
The Times had sought attorney fees under New York's anti-Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation law after the claims against the newspaper in Wayfarer's federal lawsuit were dismissed in June 2025.

According to ESPN, the agreement is expected to generate nearly $17 million per year, making it one of the richest jersey patch deals in college sports to date. Well this is a peculiar first move for trade deadline season. Jake Rogers, the longest tenured Detroit Tigers player, has been designated for ***** ignment. Eduardo Valencia was recalled on Sunday and will be taking over the backup catcher duties. Rogers' roster spot will go to Javier Báez, who returns from a three-month absence after suffering a high ankle sprain at the end of April.
The 31-year-old Rogers made his major league debut with the Tigers back on July 30, 2019 after coming to the Tigers in the trade that sent Justin Verlander to the Houston Astros in August of 2017. He finally became the Tigers primary catcher in 2021 before tearing his UCL and requiring reconstruction surgery that cost him all of the 2022 season. In 2023 and 2024 Rogers put together good seasons based around his defensive ability, plate discipline, and the occasional burst of home run power. He was worth 4.7 fWAR across those two years, but since that point his offensive contributions collapsed as Dillon Dingler took over the everyday catching role. This season, Rogers' defense finally showed real signs of cracking as well. He's hitting .161/.266/.301 for a 60 wRC+ which ranks him 48th out of 59 catchers with 100 plate appearances or more this season.
Despite his struggles, two part-time White Sox catchers, and numerous others, are even worse offensive players than Rogers. It won't be a surprise if he gets claimed, but it's too bad no one would flip a lottery ticket prospect to acquire him. The problem is that Rogers defensive numbers have declined this year and he's finally grading out a little below average as a defender. Whether that's partly the result of lack of playing time is hard to say, but hopefully he'll be claimed somewhere. If he clears waivers and is outrighted the Tigers will still be on the hook for the rest of his $3.05M salary for 2026.
Valencia is far and away a better hitter than Rogers, so that should provide a little support to the offense. On the other hand, Valencia isn't that good behind the plate, particularly in terms of holding opponents' running game in check. Still with Rogers defensive numbers in decline, perhaps Valencia won't do worse.
Getting Báez back could be pretty helpful to the Tigers although it's just funny to look at Báez as a way to trim strikeouts in the lineup by taking over some of the workload from James Outman. It will be interesting to see how he's deployed. With Kerry Carpenter out with a foot injury, the outfield needs help. It needed help anyway. We'll see if Báez is back to full speed and can get back to playing a solid enough center field. If he's back to 100 percent, that also gives the Tigers options, with Báez getting some time at shortstop and around the infield to get another right-handed bat into the lineup. Either way, it's good to have Javy Báez back, and hopefully further support for the outfield isn't too far away as Max Clark will be available to be called up without spoiling his 2027 rookie eligibi

MUMBAI: Ryan ten Doeschate has stepped down as India's men's ***** istant coach, bringing an end to his two-year stint with the national team, while Subhadeep Ghosh will be India's new fielding coach after T Dilip's contract came to an end and was not renewed, TOI has learnt.

Ten Doeschate and Dilip's final ***** ignment was India's white-ball tour of England. Both will, thus, not travel with Team India for their two-Test tour of Sri Lanka in August, while it will be the first international ***** ignment for Subhadeep, who has been the fielding coach of India A teams in the past.

During India's England tour, Ten Doeschate informed the BCCI of his decision to leave, despite being offered an extension until 2027 by the board. Although the BCCI was keen to retain him, the former Netherlands all-rounder declined the offer, citing personal reasons. With a young family, Ten Doeschate opted to step away from the demands of international cricket and its relentless travel schedule.

Meanwhile, fielding coach T Dilip is parting ways with the national team following the completion of his tenure. He will not travel with the squad for the upcoming Test tour of Sri Lanka.

Ten Doeschate joined the Indian coaching setup in July 2024 after former India opener Gautam Gambhir succeeded Rahul Dravid as the head coach following India's T20 World Cup triumph. Having worked closely with Gambhir during their successful stint at Kolkata Knight Riders, the former Netherlands all-rounder was brought into the national setup by Gambhir alongside bowling coach Morne Morkel.

After dazzling in the NBA Summer League earlier this month, Chicago Bulls rookie Caleb Wilson earned high praise from Hall of Famer Charles Barkley on Tuesday.
Wilson was a consensus second-team All-American selection at North Carolina, averaging 19.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.7 ******* ists, 1.5 steals and 1.4 blocks while shooting 57.8% from the field. He set the freshman program records for scoring average and 20-point games (17).
The 6-foot-10 Wilson was highly touted entering the draft because of his versatility, athleticism and physical traits, boasting a 7-foot, 1/4-inch wingspan. Barkley, speaking on the "Dan Patrick Show," believes the Bulls hit a home run by selecting Wilson with the fourth overall pick.
I think the Chicago Bulls got the best rookie in the NBA. When I was talking to coaches and general managers, they are like, 'Who would you take with the No. 1 pick?' I said, 'Caleb Wilson.' They are like, 'What do you mean?' I said, 'I like (AJ) Dybantsa. I like (Darryn) Peterson. There was no player I would have taken before Caleb Wilson. Not one.' Peterson and Dybantsa are probably better scorers at this stage, but he can learn how to shoot. Let me tell you something: From an athletic point, he can guard one, two, three, four. FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Christian Gonzalez may have an offer from the New England Patriots that would make him the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL. But something is keeping him from accepting it for now.
What that is exactly New England's star defender would rather keep private, even after owner Robert Kraft's public proclamations that the deal the team has put on the table is larger than any offered in Patriots history.
"Everybody knows what Mr. Kraft has done ... I respect what Mr. Kraft has brought to the franchise," Gonzalez said Tuesday. "It's something we don't want to handle to the media and keep that with the team and my (agents) and go on about that."
The ******* umption is that Gonzalez and his representatives are likely holding off an accepting an offer from the Patriots until Seattle Seahawks star cornerback Devon Witherspoon inks his anticipated contract extension first.

Things are not going well on the injury front for the Carolina Panthers.
Training camp got off on the wrong foot as starting linebacker Nic Scourton went down with a season-ending ACL injury. The franchise is also dealing with two offensive linemen, Damien Lewis and Robert Hunt, working their way back from injuries. And starting tackles Taylor Moton and Ikem Ekwonu are also currently injured and missing training camp, with both expected to miss the season opener.
So any new injuries at this point will be felt even harder, which is why a scary moment at camp on Tuesday immediately raised concerns.
Reports on Tuesday morning indicated that Panthers tight end Mitchell Evans, who made 17 appearances and 10 starts for Carolina as a rookie in 2025, went down with an apparent lower-body injury and had to be carted off the field – stoking concerns as injuries continued to mount for the franchise.
Luckily for the Panthers, there is a decent chance this injury won't turn out to be as serious as Scourton's was. Head coach Dave Canales said that Evans got rolled up on the play, and an initial examination did not indicate a serious injury.

HNB are reporting that Antwerp are considering bringing former QPR striker Michael Frey back to the club. The Swiss forward enjoyed a prolific time with the Belgian side but left during their **** le winning season after being replaced by Vincent Janssen. However, his move to QPR didn't go as planned and after a few months back in Switzerland he is now a free agent. Janssen has since departed Antwerp and the side could certainly do with having an experienced physical presence like Frey up front. It is not clear yet whether or not Frey is open to the return, given he did not leave Antwerp on the best of terms.
After coming through with Young Boys, Frey moved to Lille in 2014. After just 21 games and three goals, with a loan spell back in Switzerland with Luzern, he returned to Young Boys in 2016. Spells with FC Zurich and Fenerbahce followed, as well as a loan to FC Nurnberg, but Frey could not replicate the success he had had in Swiss football. That was until he joined Beveren, then Waasland-Beveren, on loan for the 2020/2021 season. Despite the sides relegation from the Pro League, Frey impressed with 17 goals in 31 games.
The following season Antwerp brought Frey to Belgium permanently. Frey enjoyed a fantastic first season with the club, scoring 24 goals in 46 games. However, after nine goals in 23 games the following season, Frey wanted to leave, with Janssen having taken his starting spot. Frey joined Schalke 04 initially on loan for the back end of the 2022/2023 season, but failed to score in 15 appearances.
In January of 2024 he left Antwerp permanently, joining QPR. After one goal in nine games, Frey entered the 2024/2025 season hoping to push on. He had a decent if not spectacular first full season for QPR, with nine goals in 31 games. However, he fell down the pecking order and after 13 games without a goal left to join Grasshopper back in Switzerland. Frey ended last season with the Zurich based side, scoring two goals in 16 games.

GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers are waiving their franchise record holder for longest field goal made in a game.
The Packers are moving on from Lucas Havrisik on the eve of training camp, a source told PackersNews. Havrisik kicked in only three games last season, but among his four field goals was a franchise-long 61 yarder last October in Arizona.
Havrisik, initially signed as an injury replacement for veteran Brandon McManus, made all four of his field goal attempts. He was 7-of-9 on extra points, both misses coming on a blustery day at the New York Giants.
The Packers signed Lenny Krieg earlier July 28. Krieg will get a chance to compete with Trey Smack, a rookie drafted in the sixth round this spring.

WESTFIELD — Colts general manager Chris Ballard tried to characterize the team's offseason interest in former Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold as part of an effort to leave no stone unturned.
Arnold's agent, Nicole Lynn, told a Florida court that the Colts were one of four teams who'd expressed interest in Arnold, who is awaiting trial on felony kidnapping and robbery charges after a June arrest.
Houston worked out Arnold in July, and Lynn also said the Seahawks and Jets were interested.
"We look at every player that hits the market," Ballard said. "Every player."
Ballard defended the team's interest by saying that Arnold's guilt hasn't been determined yet.

Sri Lanka Women produced a remarkable comeback to clinch their first bilateral ODI series victory over Pakistan Women in 24 years, sealing a 2-1 triumph with a dominant eight-wicket win in the series decider at Hambantota on Tuesday. After dropping the opening ODI, the hosts responded emphatically by chasing down a record target in the second match before delivering a clinical all-round performance in the third to end Pakistan's run of four consecutive ODI series wins over Sri Lanka. It was also Sri Lanka's first bilateral ODI series triumph over Pakistan since 2002.
Pakistan had drawn first blood in the series with a five-wicket victory after restricting Sri Lanka to 210/9 in the opener. However, Sri Lanka responded in spectacular fashion in the second ODI, completing their highest successful run chase in women's ODIs. Vishmi Gunaratne smashed 123, while Harshitha Samarawickrama remained unbeaten on 100 as the hosts chased down 274 with eight wickets in hand to level the series.

That momentum carried into the decider, where Sri Lanka outplayed Pakistan in every department to complete a memorable turnaround.
Asked to bat first, Pakistan suffered a nightmare start as Chetana Vimukthi ripped through the top order in just the second over. The visitors slumped to 10/3, putting themselves under immediate pressure. Gull Feroza and Muneeba Ali steadied the innings with a 68-run partnership, but Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu broke the stand by dismissing Feroza for 40.

Pakistan's middle order failed to capitalise as another collapse followed. From 110/4, the visitors slipped to 146/7 before captain Fatima Sana played a fighting knock of 41 to lift her side to 187 all out in 40 overs. Athapaththu and Kavisha Dilhari starred with the ball, claiming three wickets each to keep Pakistan below the 200-run mark.
Needing 188 for victory, Sri Lanka lost Vishmi Gunaratne early after she had helped provide another positive start. Captain Chamari Athapaththu quickly seized control, attacking Pakistan's bowlers with trademark aggression. She struck three boundaries and a six in one over before bringing up the 30th fifty-plus score of her ODI career, ensuring Sri Lanka stayed comfortably ahead of the required rate.

Although Athapaththu departed after scoring 52, Harshitha Samarawickrama continued her excellent form, remaining unbeaten on 71, while Hasini Perera provided steady support in an unbroken partnership that guided Sri Lanka home with 76 **** to spare.

Athapaththu's all-round display earned her the Player of the Match award after contributing both with the bat and ball in the series decider. Harshitha Samarawickrama, meanwhile, was named Player of the Series after scoring 173 runs across three matches while being dismissed only once.

Kia Corporation announced a 2.3% rise in net profits to KRW 2,327.8 trillion (US$ 1.59 billion) for the second quarter of 2026, up from KRW 2,268.2 trillion a year earlier, with US import tariffs and higher sales incentives offset by record global vehicle deliveries. Operating profits fell by 4.9% to KRW 2,628.5 trillion.
The South Korean automaker reported a 12.6% increase in global sales revenues to a record KRW 33,037.0 trillion in the three-month period, while global wholesale deliveries rose by 4.5% to 851,639 vehicles – including 154,816 units in South Korea and 696,823 units overseas. Total HEV retail sales rose by 61% to 178,000 units, helped by the launch of the new Telluride and Seltos models, with sales in the US surging by 152% to 66,000 units, while total BEV retail sales surged by 88% to 110,000 units.
Kia said it expects solid business results in the second half of 2026 to enable it to meet its full-year guidance, "supported by competitive new model offerings and sustained BEV and HEV demand." The company is targeting 3.35 million global vehicle sales in 2026, supported by the launch of new BEV models in Europe and a recovery in Middle Eastern demand.
In the US, Kia said that its plans to expand production capacity of the Telluride SUV, including hybrid variants, and the ramp up of deliveries of the Sportage hybrid produced at the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) will help enhance profitability.
