WASHINGTON – If recent history is the judge, President Donald Trump faces an uncertain legal landscape after his latest attempt to ban certain media outlets from covering him at the White House.
Trump announced in a Sept. 18 social media post that he is banning reporters from three major media outlets – CNN, MS NOW, and Politico – from the White House because he views their coverage as "FAKE NEWS."
Trump later said there wasn't a specific incident or story that prompted him to initiate the ban, which would not preclue the outlets from reporting on the president.
"It's really just ***** ulative stories over the last few years. You get sick of it," he said.
It's not the first time the Trump administration has taken such action against the press.

Week 1 was a great reminder of why we all love fantasy football.
At quarterback, Bryce Young scored more points than Drake Maye, Baker Mayfield, Matthew Stafford, Kyler Murray and Sam Darnold combined. At running back, two Bears finished inside the top-10 while Christian McCaffrey was out-carried by a rookie. The current WR1, Jalen ****** er, had more fantasy points than Puka Nacua, DeVonta Smith, Drake London, George Pickens and Ja'Marr Chase combined. Finally, the currently list of TE1s includes Mike Gesicki, Pat Freiermuth, T.J. Hockenson, Noah Fant, Cole Kmet and Kenyon Sadiq. Fun.
Thankfully, we can already start looking ahead to Week 2.

The better approach is to separate disappointing box scores from genuinely concerning roles. Ja'Marr Chase and George Pickens hurt lineups in Week 1, but neither performance provided a good reason to panic.

Chase delivered the most shocking dud of the opening weekend, catching two of four targets for only 12 yards in Cincinnati's 33-27 victory over Tampa Bay. He finished behind Mike Gesicki, Tee Higgins and Chase Brown in targets despite entering the week as fantasy football's consensus top wide receiver.
The four targets were frustrating, but the result looks more like an outlier than a changing offensive hierarchy. Chase's 3.2 PPR points represented the second-worst fantasy performance of his career. He has also averaged 5.5 fewer fantasy points in September than during every other month, demonstrating that slow starts are nothing new.

When Sunderland were awarded a penalty following Ezri Konsa's impromptu wrestling match with Dan Ballard, it felt like a massive opportunity to break the deadlock against the notoriously watertight Gunners as Enzo Le Fée lined up his spot kick against David Raya.
There was little wrong with the Frenchman's attempt — firmly struck and aimed towards the corner — but the Spaniard made a superb save to deny Le Fée his second success from twelve yards inside a week. And when everyone's favourite villain Bruno Guimaraẽs duly fired a venomous dipping shot past Robin Roefs barely minutes later, it felt like the classic one-two punch and it ultimately defined the game.
Sunderland more than held their own in this contest; we looked sharp, combative and were able to fashion a number of decent chances against the defending champions, but the finishing touch eluded the Lads on this occasion and that somehow made the loss even more frustrating.
We know we're capable of giving the league's big guns a run for their money on any given day, and occasionally emerging victorious, but during what could easily be a "difficult second season", we need to find ways to bridge the gap and to continue to eke out points from tricky positions.

Less than 24 hours away from Purdue's week two game against Wake Forest it's time for a final look back at Purdue's week 1 game against Indiana State. This week I asked you all to tell me if Purdue's performance against the Sycamores changed your expectations for the rest of the season. It seemed like a good thing to ask given that I had already asked all of you how you graded Purdue's week 1 performance. The results were not great if you're Purdue.
As you can see the majority of respondents graded Purdue at a C. That's not what you want out of week 1 when you're playing a cupcake. So given that C grade I was curious if that changed expectations up or down. Of course. there was also the option for no change. So, let's take a look at the results.
A whopping 76% of respondents didn't change their expectations after week 1 which honestly seems very reasonable, rationale, and not at all okay for this current internet age. Those 76% are the well adjusted respondents. 22% revised their expectations down and those are the people who likely graded Purdue much lower than a C. Honestly, I don't blame them. Then, there are the true sickos. 2% of respondents actually raised their expectations after week 1. I can only ******* ume Fame Ejiobe blew them away and their are pushing all their chips in on him. This time tomorrow we will have a much better idea of who this Purdue team is.

25-year-old Guardians LHP Parker Messick made his MLB debut last August, and so far the results have been pretty spectacular. Even if they're helped a little by a lucky batting average on **** in play (he's at .264 for the season, the MLB average is .289). That's not a crazy outlier though, I don't think. Messick relies heavily on a 94-ish fastball and slightly slower sinker; that combo has been dynamite for him this season. He'll frequently mix in a change, less frequently some breaking stuff.
75 years ago, Bill Veeck pulled one of his signature wacky baseball stunts. He signed 3'7" Eddie Gaedel to the Browns' roster and had him pinch-hit in a game. Gaedel drew a walk — obviously his strike zone was small — and Veeck replaced him with a pinch-runner. The pinch-runner didn't score
Now, Veeck owned the St. Louis Browns at that time, not the team in Cleveland. (So this is kinda the wrong week for this post. I thought this happened in Cleveland, until I started writing it.)
But Veeck had owned the Indians for four years, selling them in 1950 when he needed money for a divorce settlement. And had done some notable things with the team, like signing the first Negro League player to join the American League, Larry Doby. (When manager Lou Boudreau introduced Doby to the team, three players refused to shake his hand — and Veeck got rid of all three.) In 1949, Veeck signed Satchel Paige, the oldest rookie to ever play in MLB at the age of 41; he'd pitch 155.2 innings over two seasons for the team (and then became a two-time All-Star with the Browns).
Veeck claimed the idea of using a small person as a pinch-hitter was his own notion… however, there'd been a 1941 story in The Saturday Evening Post called "You Could Look it Up" by James Thurber, author of "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty." You can read the Thurber story here, if you like. It has paintings by Norman Rockwell which are very detailed and striking, as usual:

Dolly Parton never recovered from the death of her husband, Carl Dean, a friend tells In Touch exclusively.
"It was a bad time for her," Jason Pirro, who worked as the country icon's driver for 58 years, says of Dean's March 2025 death at 82 following an Alzheimer's diagnosis.
"She didn't say much, but she sometimes talked about how much she missed him so much. She didn't want to make a big deal about it because she knew that I knew how she was affected by it," says Pirro, 80, noting that the pair often traveled between their homes in LA and Tennessee to spend time with each other until he got sick.
Over their 60-year love story, they "shared a unique happiness that seemed to sparkle whenever they were together," he adds.
"I think that's why she passed away so soon after he did," Pirro tells In Touch. "She died of a broken heart, but she didn't want to say that because she didn't want people feeling sorry for her."

Counting On alums Joy-Anna Duggar and Jinger Duggar are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel six months after the family's latest scandal in which their brother, Joseph Duggar, and sister-in-law, Kendra Duggar, were arrested.
During a September 2 episode of the Call Your Sister podcast, Joy-Anna, 29, said she's "coming out" of the darkness.
"We've had wave after wave of just sickening horrible things happening," Joy-Anna said during the September 2 episode. "It really just sends me into a spiral. And those have been really hard seasons. I feel like I'm coming out of that finally with this last run we went through of family stuff."
She added, "Sin is so dark and so heavy and it's hard to find true joy…happiness is circumstantial. I think my kids help me have a little bit of happiness here and there in the dark moments. But it is really hard to find joy in those hard, hard moments."

STILLWATER — Last Saturday, Seth Storey walked into the Stillwater Raising Cane's and ordered a 25-finger tailgate platter. It costs $41.99 and feeds 6-8 people, but Storey wasn't sharing.
At 9:02 p.m., Storey sat down at a booth with an aluminum pan full of chicken and couldn't leave the restaurant for 24 hours. For every tender he ate, one hour came off his clock.
The first 30 minutes went OK as Storey powered through 12 tenders. At the 15 tender mark, his consumption started to slow down. He gagged attempting to swallow tender 18 and nearly threw up. The bathroom would ultimately call three times — once to throw up.
Even the tasty Raising Cane's sauce didn't make things better.
"It didn't help with the flavor and it just kind of tasted like nothing," Storey said. "Like definitely toward the end, I was just sick of the taste."

Alex wore Saint Laurent Fall 2026, taking the cropped cable-knit sweater from the runway and giving it a much cleaner spin with wide-leg black trousers. I've been enjoying the collection's striped pieces on the red carpet, but I like that Alex didn't recreate the runway styling. The all-black palette puts the focus on the proportions, which is what makes this work for me.
Cassie opted for a Magda Butrym wool corset dress, and this is easily my favourite part of their couple's style moment. The precise darting and padded hips create that exaggerated hourglass silhouette the designer does so well, and you know I love a well-executed exaggerated silhouette.
The dress is so good that the shoes frustrate me even more. The bronze pointed-toe pumps with criss-cross ankle straps feel disconnected from the modernity of the silhouette. A pewter strappy sandal or mule would have been a much stronger finish and allowed the dress to have the final word.

Paris Jackson didn't get to enjoy her father Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch. The 28-year-old star, the daughter of the late King of Pop and his second wife, Debbie Rowe, has revealed that she and her siblings, Prince, 29, and Bigi, 24, never got the chance to enjoy the California property's features, such as the private amusement park, zoo, and movie theater.
Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Paris explained: "I didn't grow up there. "It was only the first few years of my life that I was there." In fact, Paris revealed that she and her siblings were told that Neverland's "attractions" were only to be enjoyed by underprivileged and sick children.

On August 5, OraSure Technologies (NASDAQ:OSUR) reported second-quarter 2026 results that included its first GAAP net income in years, a headline number of $6.2 million versus a $19.7 million loss a year earlier. Revenue of $30.6 million beat the company's own guidance range and climbed 9.7% from the prior quarter. But look past the top line and the story splits in two, one part driven by real operating progress, the other by an accounting adjustment tied to a regulatory setback.
Some of this quarter's improvement came from actual operations. Gross margin expanded to 43.5% on a GAAP basis, up from 42.1% a year earlier, and non-GAAP gross margin rose to 44.2% from 43.2%. Diagnostics revenue grew 1% year over year to $19.4 million, helped by higher syphilis test sales and the addition of BioMedomics' Sickle SCAN product line. OraSure also picked up two regulatory wins during the quarter. In June 2026, the FDA cleared its Colli-Pee Dx urine collection kit for use with Roche's **** ually transmitted infection tests, letting patients collect samples at home instead of in a clinic.
The following month, the FDA granted Emergency Use Authorization for the second-generation OraQuick Ebola 2.0 Rapid Antigen Test, which can detect all four Ebola virus strains known to cause disease in humans. Cash used in operating activities improved to $23.8 million over the first six months of 2026, down from $30 million a year earlier, a sign the cash burn is easing. The company also kept buying back stock, repurchasing $22 million of shares, or 7.7 million shares, against its $40 million authorization, retiring more than 10% of shares outstanding.
The GAAP profit that headlines this quarter didn't come from the business getting more profitable. It came almost entirely from a $22.6 million reduction in a contingent consideration liability, an accounting entry triggered when OraSure updated its regulatory submission plan for the CT/NG test on its Sherlock platform. Strip that adjustment out and the underlying trend looks different. Non-GAAP operating loss widened to $14.7 million from $13.2 million a year earlier, and non-GAAP net loss came in at $13.8 million, roughly in line with last year's $14.2 million loss. The regulatory event behind that accounting gain is itself a setback.
In July, OraSure withdrew its InteliQuick CT/NG molecular self-test submission after receiving FDA feedback, meaning the product's path to market is now delayed while the company prepares a future resubmission. Total revenue for the quarter was still down 2% year over year, and core revenue, which excludes COVID-19 and Risk **** sment Testing, was flat. Six-month revenue fell 4% to $58.6 million. Sample Management Solutions revenue stayed flat year over year at $9.9 million, showing no growth driver of its own. Cash and equivalents fell to $161 million at quarter-end from $199.3 million at the end of 2025, pulled down by continued buybacks and cash used in operations.

It's been an entire generation since Rashad Evans put Chuck Liddell's lights out in a way he never had experienced before, and never quite that bad ever again.
In the UFC 88 main event in Atlanta 18 years ago, Evans positively starched Liddell with a right hand that had the ex-champ unconscious for several minutes on the canvas. It was the first of three straight knockout losses that led to Liddell's eventual retirement.
Going into the fight, Liddell still had some aura left around him. "The Iceman" reigned over the UFC's light heavyweight division for several years until he lost his **** le to Quinton "Rampage" Jackson in 2007. Later that year, he lost a close split decision to Keith Jardine, but bounced back from the two-fight skid with a win over Wanderlei Silva.
So pretending Liddell was the same version UFC CEO Dana White wanted to see retire for his own health when he fought Evans is misguided. His **** le days were in the past, but it wasn't until Evans shut his lights off that his career truly was done.

The Guardians looked rough today in a 6-0 loss to the Tigers. Parker Messick did give up three runs in 6 innings but he also set a career high with 12 strikeouts. He was fantastic tonight. Matt Festa was bad but it wouldn't have mattered considering we couldn't score a single run.
The Guardians lineup managed just three hits and one walk. It is simply impossible to win a game with that type of offensive output. On the bright side, Austin Peterson made his MLB debut and struckout three batters in two scoreless innings of relief. It may have been garbage time but it was still very fun to watch and it's a moment he will never forget.
The Guardians will look to take 3/4 tomorrow. It will be Gavin Williams vs Jackson Jobe at 1:40 pm ET. This is a crucial game for the Guardians.

LOS ANGELES — Tommy Edman made a fantastic defensive play to rob extra bases, then rounded said bases after a three-run home run that helped the Dodgers to a 6-5 win over the Washington Nationals on Saturday night at Dodger Stadium.
Down two runs in the seventh inning, Alex Freeland walked with one out and Kiké Hernández singled with two out. That set the stage for Edman, who jumped on a high slider from former Dodgers draft pick Clayton Beeter for a three-run home run, turning the game around.
Edman in five games on the homestand has nine hits in 22 at-bats (.409), what a way to make a living.
With no Shohei Ohtani in the lineup for a third straight day, the Dodgers were also without two other planned starters with Dalton Rushing scratched with elbow soreness and Max Muncy sick. They still managed to score a pair off Washington's best starter, Cade Cavalli in the opening frame. Freddie Freeman was hit by a pitch and Mookie Betts singled with one out. Teoscar Hernández continued his solid week or so with an RBI single, and catcher Hunter Feduccia added another.
Tyler Glasnow struck out eight but pitched through traffic most of his night, and allowed four runs.

Rushing spent four weeks on the injured list after a partial tear of the UCL in his right elbow before getting activated on Tuesday. He played in each of the last four games, batting only, going hitless in four at-bats plus a hit by pitch.
Several hours before first pitch on Saturday, Rushing was going through drills to test his elbow, including throwing from varying distances in the outfield, including what looked like to be around 120 feet. Rushing also did drills throwing to second base from behind home plate.
In their place, Teoscar Hernández moved from left field to designated hitter with Alex Call now starting in left field, and Kiké Hernández was inserted into the lineup at third base.

The Tigers needed some of their big names to get it together and win them a game. Framber Valdez answered the call with seven shutout frames on Saturday, while Riley Greene homered twice and drove in four in a four-hit game. The bullpen only needed to go two innings to hold a 6-0 lead, and they did so with no trouble.
The Tigers already saw the weaker end of the Guardians rotation, so this was only going to get tougher on Saturday against Parker Messick, and then Gavin Williams on Sunday. With Framber Valdez going, the defense would need to be sharp, while Kevin McGonigle and Max Clark both got a needed day off against the left-hander.

All last weekend, my kid told me that it was going to be Labor Day that next Monday. I kept telling her no, it was next Monday. I mean, like 10 or 12 times. Then I told this to the wife. She was very quiet, then asked "it's not Labor Day tomorrow?" Because she kept telling our kid it was, then I kept breaking her heart. So if you're broken hearted to hear that there's no game today, I apologize.
What is going on then? The Brewers and Cubs are kicking off shortly. The Cubs are 9 back of the Brewers, but they're not out of it. The Cardinals can complete a sweep of the Dodgers at 10 pm Eastern.
The mutant form of college football is going on tonight as well. Missouri and Utah look poised to devour their opening week cupcakes of Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Idaho, respectively. That's going on at 7pm and 8pm.
Are you guys and gals going to the beach? Ima sit at home and broil myself. The next trip we take will be either to a sick relative's or to Atlanta for a playoff game. Hopefully, the family can pull through and the Braves can be victorious.

Kelly Osbourne has shared an update on her mental and physical health following the death of her father and intense public scrutiny over her appearance.
Osbourne has admitted that she was struggling following the death of her father, rocker Ozzy Osbourne, in July 2025.
"I didn't navigate it – I wasn't well," Osbourne told ******* o!. "How can you navigate something so cruel when you're so sick? I'm getting a lot better. I've got all the help I need and I'm grateful for the support I have in my life."
The 41-year-old said she's doing better now, over a year later, but added that healing isn't linear and her physical and mental health are "not going to be fixed in a day."
"It's one foot in front of the other," she told the publication. "You've got to fix the head before you can fix the body. It's a slow process. It's going to take me a minute. I'm not going to be fixed in a day. I'm not going to be fixed on one therapy session. This is a lifetime of work I've got to do and continue to do for the rest of my life.

There were tears in Novak Djokovic's eyes as he held serve late in the fifth set of his Sunday US Open first match. Hypothetically, four years ago, this would be the point where the Serb would bring out his ***** nal, lock down, and withstand his opponent.
The tears, however, suggested that Djokovic's body had betrayed him.
As the Serb fell 7-6 (5) 5-7 4-6 6-2 6-1 to Mariano Navone in his first Grand Slam first-round loss since 2006, he now faces a crossroads in one of the final chapters of his career. The 24-time Grand Slam champion is 39, after all, and will slip outside the Top 10 of the rankings.
Sunday night conditions seemed to give Djokovic a break from the demanding, hot New York sun. But Djokovic felt sick less than one hour into the match, letting a 3-0 lead slip, and dealing with nausea. He threw up in the third set and cramped in the fourth and fifth sets, unable to hit serves at full pace.

Sunday night conditions seemed to give Djokovic a break from the demanding, hot New York sun. But Djokovic felt sick less than one hour into the match, letting a 3-0 lead slip, and dealing with nausea. He threw up in the third set and cramped in the fourth and fifth sets, unable to hit serves at full pace.

Charlamagne tha God has an issue with the way some celebrities are paying tribute to Dolly Parton following her death.
During Wednesday's episode of The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne criticized the tendency to focus tributes on personal encounters with someone who has died rather than celebrating that person's life and legacy.
"I'm sick of people making people's death about them," Charlamagne said. "It's all about the interaction you had with the person as opposed to celebrating the person and their life."
