The resignation of Kurt Olsen, a 2020 election denier who was ****** igned to the so-called "grand conspiracy" probe in Southern Florida earlier this year, comes just weeks after Trump ally Joe diGenova similarly announced his departure after suggesting to the New York Post that he was being pressured by DOJ leadership to bring charges without supporting evidence.
Olsen had no prior prosecutorial experience and was deeply involved in litigation surrounding President Trump's efforts to challenge his 2020 election loss.
Olsen could not immediately be reached for comment. A DOJ spokesperson declined to comment to ABC News.

Less-than-truckload carrier FedEx Freight announced Wednesday after the market closed that it has terminated Mike Lyons, its chief specialized services and commercial officer. Lyons was appointed to the role in June 2025, one year ahead of the company's spinoff from FedEx Corp.
"Following an internal investigation, the Company determined Mr. Lyons violated its Code of Conduct and no longer met the standards of employment at FedEx Freight," a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission stated. "Mr. Lyons's conduct was not related to and did not impact the Company's financial reporting or performance, internal controls, strategy, or customer relationships."
The company said duties performed by Lyons will be reassigned to other executives while it conducts a search for a replacement.
Lyons had been with the company for 19 years, according to his LinkedIn page. He led commercial strategy and customer experience as well as FedEx Custom Critical.
FedEx (NYSE: FDX) announced the new executive leadership team for FedEx Freight (NYSE: FDXF) in June 2025.

Rumer Willis, eldest daughter of actors Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, is asking the court to place some limitations on her ex Derek Richard Thomas' visits with their daughter Louetta.
The House Bunny actress is pushing back against a court ruling that expanded the scope of Thomas' visitation rights with their daughter.
Willis filed an emergency request seeking to keep her ex's visits with daughter Louetta supervised. The dispute stemmed from when the court-assigned nanny for Louetta had to stop working and Thomas allegedly refused to accept a replacement. Willis alleged that Thomas at one point would not allow a court-ordered supervisor into his home.
The emergency request came after the court granted Willis primary physical custody of their daughter back in June. The ruling also planned for Thomas' monitored visits to transition to overnight unmonitored visits this month.
Willis has demanded the postponement of the unsupervised visits. According to court documents obtained by E! News, Willis has accused her ex of repeatedly violating court orders and making "unsafe decisions" involving Louetta. She also noted that Thomas had completed only five and a half supervised visits with his daughter. According to her, the visitations, which began on June 20, could not be completed due to disputes over court-assigned nannies.

San Francisco Giants third-base coach Ron Wotus didn't hesitate to let umpire Alan Porter hear his two cents on Saturday, less than 24 hours removed from Porter tossing Giants manager Tony Vitello.
During the lineup card exchange before Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Arizona Diamondbacks in San Francisco, Wotus said his piece.
Porter sent him to the showers, too.
Wotus, a longtime Giants staffer who replaced a reassigned Hector Borg in the third-base coaching box earlier this season, had a front-row seat to a call that drew ire amid a five-run D-backs third inning that played a significant role in San Francisco's 10-6 defeat on Friday.

Although the ball landed in foul territory beyond the infield, third-base umpire Alex MacKay ruled it fair since he believed it traveled over the bag. Detroit Tigers’ manager A.J. Hinch announced prior to Tuesday night’s game against the Athletics that third base coach Joey Cora has left the organization. Hinch told reporters that he and Cora had met and mutually decided to part ways based on some philosophical differences that had developed. Billy Boyer will take over as third base coach effective immediately.
Hinch characterized the differences of opinion as purely baseball related. That’s interesting considering that Cora has been his third base coach for two and a half seasons after joining the organization in November of 2023. The 61-year-old had an 11-year career in the major leagues, mainly with the Padres, White Sox, and Mariners, before moving into coaching. Apart from his third base responsibilities, Cora has also been the Tigers infield instructor for the past two and a half seasons.
One wonders if the difference of opinion may have had more to do with coaching players than Cora’s work at third base. Like every third base coach since the dawn of time, he’s been criticized for some aggressive sends that worked out badly, but overall the Tigers have graded out pretty well in the baserunning department under his watch, despite not stealing many bases. That’s changed a little bit this year, with the Tigers slipping in the baserunning metrics a bit. They currently rank 17th best in team baserunning per FanGraphs, compared to finishing 10th in that category in 2025.
The 41-year-old Boyer was a college coach before joining the Tigers’ organization as a minor league infield coordinator back in 2021. That was part of now ******* istant general manager, Ryan Garko’s, overhaul of the entire player development system after for director of player development, Dave Littlefield, was reassigned. Boyer became the quality control coach for the major league club this season. As a longtime infield coach who has been working with infielders all year anyway, we ******* ume he’ll take over Cora’s responsibilities working with the infielders as well.
We look forward to seeing a new set of gestures at third base, but otherwise this probably won’t change much about the way the Tigers run the bases. They’re still committed to being aggressive in terms of sending runners from third base to home. We’ll see if they’re more or less successful with Boyer making the calls.
