Aug 2 (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Sunday he will not hesitate to repeat a U.S. and ****** anese coordinated foreign exchange intervention that countered disorderly yen movements and urged that a Federal Reserve backstop for foreign central banks and monetary authorities be "upsized."
Bessent indicated in a social media posting on X that the Fed's Foreign and International Monetary Authorities lending facility was used in the coordinated action on Friday, which was confirmed by ****** an's finance ministry and President Donald Trump.
"The FIMA Repo Facility is an important backstop. We should encourage it to be upsized in the coming months," Bessent said.
Created by the Fed during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, the FIMA Repo Facility allows countries that keep Treasury securities on deposit at the New York Fed to get up to $60 billion in U.S. dollar loans for up to seven days. The loans are offered at a rate typically above the open-market repo rate, so the expectation is that its use would be limited to times of market stress.

Palantir (PLTR) will report second-quarter results on Aug. 3, and the ******* ysts covering PLTR stock cannot seem to agree on what is coming. PLTR stock fell about 6% after Cleveland Research flagged signs of weak spending among Palantir's commercial customers. The note was a rare cautious voice on a stock that has mostly drawn praise, and it was enough to worry investors. Baird ******* yst William Power pushed back the same day, however, reiterating an "Outperform" rating and a $200 price target. A day before that, Oppenheimer ******* yst Param Singh also kept an "Outperform" rating and a $200 target. Singh expects revenue to grow roughly 85% in Q2. For reference, Palantir's own Q2 guidance points to revenue of about $1.8 billion, which would mean growth of roughly 80%. So, the ******* yst believes Palantir will beat its own forecast, something it has done quarter after quarter.

Toronto Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins commented on the trade deadline, including keeping several veterans on the team's roster.
The Blue Jays made several trades ahead of the MLB trade deadline, including trading away Kevin Gausman and acquiring Jose Soriano, among others.
However, while the team traded several players, they also kept George Springer, Max Scherzer, and Shane Bieber, despite all three players having expiring contracts.
Speaking to Blue Jays reporters following the team's deadline moves, Atkins revealed that the reason Springer was not moved at the deadline was that the veteran DH wanted to stay in Toronto.
"It was important for him to be here. We wanted him here as we continue to push forward," Atkins said.

And for the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes, what Monday's trade deadline means is star players like Charlie Condin and Zac Veen are still in the organization, although they could be heading to replenish the Rockies roster soon.
It also means the Isotopes will likely be getting some new names/faces as soon during as this week's six-game homestand against the Sugar Land ***** e Cowboys. At least three — RHP Mason Adams, LHP Mark Manfredi and INF Connor Norby — have already been ***** igned to report to the Isotopes this week.
And while he's not yet on a homecoming trip to Albuquerque, Sandia High graduate Aiden May, a 23-year-old right handed pitcher who was drafted out of Oregon State in 2024, was acquired by the Rockies in a trade with the Miami Marlins and could be an Isotope in the next couple of years if his minor-league progression continues. The trade deadline is one of the most hectic days of the entire regular season for all ball clubs, whether you are a fan of a team that is already looking ahead to the next season for how they can improve or a team that is in the middle of a playoff race and hoping to see October baseball, it's a day where all of us are constantly checking MLBTradeRumors or refreshing our twitter feeds for the next Jeff Passan bomb to grace our timeline.
Coming off a series victory over the Cleveland Guardians where the Dbacks would end up going 10-6 from the start of the 2nd half to the last day before the deadline, there was hope among fans and players on the team that GM Mike Hazen would go ahead and be an aggressive buyer and fill the positional needs this team has shown to be lacking throughout 2026. What we got was…far from the outcome we had been hoping for to say the least.
With today being the last day for teams to make trades before the deadline at 6 PM EST, the notifications from the top baseball reporters were going off all day. We saw nearly every NL playoff hopeful make some kind of move to strengthen their rosters, especially the teams like the Padres, Phillies, Cubs and even Pirates who are all still jockeying for one of the 3 Wild Card spots. There were some rumors about the Diamondbacks being involved in discussions for players like Casey Mize of the Tigers, or Alec Burleson from the Cardinals, but that's where it always seemed to end at just a "discussion" and nothing being finalized.
I sat there watching the time tick away thinking "Alright, (Mike) Hazen will get something done before time is up,let him cook" and kept repeating that to myself, but once the final 10 to 15 minutes approached I got nervous that we might not see anything come to fruition, but right as I had that thought, the news finally came through and the Snakes made a move.
Brandon, Gabe and I planned to have a deadline special episode where we would discuss all the moves that were made for the Diamondbacks and who was dealt for the reinforcements that we were sure were on their way, but like a lot of other online we were quite disappointed to see that the only trade Mike Hazen would be was trading Daniel Eagan (#5 prospect), Sandro Santana (#26 Prospect) and a Player-To-Be-Named-Later (PTBNL) in exchange for Cardinals outfielder Lars Nootbar. Noot did miss a good chunk of time to start the season due to injury so his .234/.333/.354 line with 3 HR and 16 RBI might not seem like the most exciting numbers to Dback's fans, but some of his underlying metrics give fans some more hope that he could be a solid addition for a team that is still well in the wild card race.
While the addition of Nootbar does at least improve the roster by bringing in a guy who has a solid walk rate and low chase % (also would mean we have a player who can slot in for Kepler should we hold onto that playoff spot), the Diamondbacks biggest needs going into the deadline was more Starting Pitching an
Coming off a series victory over the Cleveland Guardians where the Dbacks would end up going 10-6 from the start of the 2nd half to the last day before the deadline, there was hope among fans and players on the team that GM Mike Hazen would go ahead and be an aggressive buyer and fill the positional needs this team has shown to be lacking throughout 2026. What we got was…far from the outcome we had been hoping for to say the least.
With today being the last day for teams to make trades before the deadline at 6 PM EST, the notifications from the top baseball reporters were going off all day. We saw nearly every NL playoff hopeful make some kind of move to strengthen their rosters, especially the teams like the Padres, Phillies, Cubs and even Pirates who are all still jockeying for one of the 3 Wild Card spots. There were some rumors about the Diamondbacks being involved in discussions for players like Casey Mize of the Tigers, or Alec Burleson from the Cardinals, but that's where it always seemed to end at just a "discussion" and nothing being finalized.
I sat there watching the time tick away thinking "Alright, (Mike) Hazen will get something done before time is up,let him cook" and kept repeating that to myself, but once the final 10 to 15 minutes approached I got nervous that we might not see anything come to fruition, but right as I had that thought, the news finally came through and the Snakes made a move.
Brandon, Gabe and I planned to have a deadline special episode where we would discuss all the moves that were made for the Diamondbacks and who was dealt for the reinforcements that we were sure were on their way, but like a lot of other online we were quite disappointed to see that the only trade Mike Hazen would be was trading Daniel Eagan (#5 prospect), Sandro Santana (#26 Prospect) and a Player-To-Be-Named-Later (PTBNL) in exchange for Cardinals outfielder Lars Nootbar. Noot did miss a good chunk of time to start the season due to injury so his .234/.333/.354 line with 3 HR and 16 RBI might not seem like the most exciting numbers to Dback's fans, but some of his underlying metrics give fans some more hope that he could be a solid addition for a team that is still well in the wild card race.
While the addition of Nootbar does at least improve the roster by bringing in a guy who has a solid walk rate and low chase % (also would mean we have a player who can slot in for Kepler should we hold onto that playoff spot), the Diamondbacks biggest needs going into the deadline was more Starting Pitching an

Netflix announced on Monday that Nick Foles and Clay Matthews will join the studio show for the Week 1 game in Australia, along with host Elle Duncan and ****** yst Michael Irvin.
While the announcement focuses only on the first game, it's possible if not likely that Foles and Matthews will be back for the other four 2026 Netflix games. Duncan has said that Netflix will have a consistent studio presence for all of its games this season.

The Baltimore Ravens signed veteran offensive tackle Kendall Lamm following a workout on Monday, per the NFL's daily transaction report, filling the roster spot vacated by Hakeem Adeniji's sudden retirement over the weekend.

The Ravens badly needed depth at offensive tackle following Hakeem Adeniji's sudden retirement over the weekend. The 28-year-old just signed in Baltimore last week and participated in Saturday's training camp practice at the University of Maryland's SECU Stadium. Head coach Jesse Minter characterized Adeniji's abrupt departure as a "personal situation" and said that the team would quickly fill his spot on the roster, indicating Lamm's signing was already in the works.

The Steelers hosted edge rusher Terrell Tilmon for a visit Monday, PennLive's Nick Farabaugh reported.
Undrafted in 2026, Tilmon posted a 6.70 RAS coming out of college. The 6'4, 242-pound outside linebacker reportedly ran a 4.72-second 40-yard dash pre-draft.
Tilmon spent the final three years of his college career at Texas Tech, where he played under now-Steelers outside linebackers coach C.J. Ah You. Tilmon was also a tryout player at Steelers rookie minicamp in the spring.
Tilmon was a rotational player with the Red Raiders. He recorded eight total tackles in 2025 and one sack, finishing his college career with 5.5 in total. He played notable special teams snaps on kickoff return, kickoff coverage, punt return and punt coverage teams for much of his time with Texas Tech.
The Steelers have not immediately signed Tilmon following his tryout. Reports indicate he was the only player Pittsburgh worked out Monday.

We've reached the point in the offseason where the rumors are more speculation about what will happen as we get closer to the start of training camp — or once camp opens — than they are about things that might happen in the near future. With that framing in mind, here are the latest rumors flying around the NBA — and some advice from Chris Bosh to Victor Wembanyama.
The problem is pretty straightforward: The Dallas Mavericks have 16 players under guaranteed contracts but can only carry 15 into the season. Someone has to be traded or waived.
Klay Thompson and his $17.5 million contract are at the forefront of that, reports Christian Clark of The Athletic.
The Mavericks have explored his trade market but have yet to find a deal, multiple sources with rival teams told The Athletic on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss any potential negotiations... My understanding is that Thompson would welcome a return to Los Angeles, where he spent part of his childhood and still owns a home. The Miami Heat are another team frequently mentioned in NBA circles as a potential landing spot for the future Hall of Famer."
Los Angeles? The Lakers are an unlikely landing spot, unless the Mavericks want two years of Jarred Vanderbilt plus another contract (Dalton Knecht?), but the Lakers have 16 guaranteed contracts on the roster and are hard-capped at the first apron, so they can't take on a lot of salary. The Clippers remain in limbo until the Kawhi Leonard/Aspiration investigation comes to its eventual conclusion — which may well be into the start of the season, or even 2027 — and the fit isn't great anyway.
