Better Mortgage and Coinbase (NASDAQ: $COIN) have moved their token-backed conforming mortgage into general availability, taking a product that closed its first Bitcoin-backed Fannie Mae loan in June into a broader nationwide offering for Coinbase One members.
The mortgages are originated and serviced by Better and powered by Coinbase, with the first lien structured under Fannie Mae guidelines as a standard conforming home loan. The crypto-backed portion sits alongside that mortgage, allowing qualified borrowers to pledge digital **** ets toward the down payment without first selling their holdings.
Coinbase One members approved for a Better loan can also receive a lender-funded credit equal to 1% of the mortgage value, capped at $10,000. Better said the credit now extends beyond the token-backed product to standard mortgages, home equity lines of credit and refinances.

The Chicago Bears have been involved in trade discussions surrounding defensive tackle, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported on Tuesday. Dexter, who turns 25 in October, is currently in the final year of his rookie contract.
Schultz previously reported in February that teams were calling on Dexter's availability around the time of the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine. Now, Schultz is claiming that there are "multiple scenarios where a deal could get done".
Dexter was a second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft coming out of Florida. He is coming off a 2025 campaign in which he tallied 44 tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss, and a career-high 6.0 sacks. He placed No. 32 among 107 qualified defensive tackles in PFN DT Impact Scoring, a ranking which indicates he's an average starting defensive tackle. That said, his pass-rushing production and youth gives him considerable upside on the open market.
Should the Bears actually trade Dexter, they would free up over $1.6 million in 2026 cap **** e. The reason to trade Dexter wouldn't be highlighted by the immediate cap relief, but rather, the draft capital Chicago could obtain in a deal. If the team realizes they likely won't extend him at the price he and his agency are asking for, it could make sense in the long run to get a draft pick for him, rather than let him walk in free agency for nothing.
Of course, the Bears' defensive line has been the subject of much discussion leading up to the 2026-27 NFL season. Their four-man front consistently struggled to generate pressure in the pass rush and had issues in run support, and they didn't do much to address the need this offseason. Trading Dexter would certainly weaken their interior defensive line and thrust the likes of Neville Gallimore, Kentavius Street, and sixth-round pick Jordan van den Berg into bigger roles alongside Grady Jarrett, who is coming off a disappointing 2025 season.

With this year's crop of superstar IPO filings, including ***** eX and Anthropic, there has been a greater focus on the role venture capital plays in investors' portfolios. The stage at which promising companies go public has moved much later in their evolution, meaning that investors seeking the outsized returns of betting on the next Apple, Amazon, or ***** eX must do so while the companies are still private.
Traditionally, that has not been an avenue open to many individual investors, as venture capital funds have tended to come with qualified purchaser requirements, hefty investment minimums, 15-plus-year payoff horizons and limited liquidity mechanisms. A new crop of players, however, is promising mass-affluent investors that they can enter the venture capital business as well, often without the need for accreditation or investment minimums. Whether they can succeed in doing so without making investors take on outsized risks relative to returns is an open question.
One of the first companies to launch a venture-capital fund marketed to retail investors was Destiny XYZ Inc. in the spring of 2024. Called Destiny Tech100 (DXYZ), the fund focuses on "late-stage venture-backed companies," with Destiny XYZ viewing them as a more stable investment than fresh start-ups. Destiny Tech100, which today has a market cap of about $1 billion, comes with a 2.5% annual management fee—roughly in line with what a traditional venture capital fund would charge—but requires no accreditation or minimum investment, since it's structured as an exchange-listed closed-end fund (CEF).
Today, the fund lists 36 companies among its holdings, including ***** eX and OpenAI. Over a 52-week period, DXYZ posted total returns of 21.02%. The New England Patriots have quite the duo at offensive guard heading into next season.
The Patriots signed star veteran guard Alijah Vera-Tucker in free agency to play opposite starting right guard Mike Onwenu in 2026. Both are expected to help the Patriots contend for the Super Bowl this season with great blocking in the interior.
Pro Football Focus ranked Onwenu No. 9 overall and Vera-Tucker No. 20 overall in their offensive guard rankings ahead of the 2026 NFL season, first highlighting Onwenu's prowess at the position.
"Playing a single position for the first time since 2022, he once again proved his value to the Patriots," PFF's Dalton Wasserman said. "Including the postseason, Onwenu led all offensive linemen with 1,344 snaps played in 2025, and his 77.1 PFF grade ranked ninth among qualified guards. He was also one of just six qualified guards to earn a 72.0-plus PFF grade both as a run blocker and in pass protection."
Onwenu helped the Patriots reach the Super Bowl at the end of last season. He allowed only two sacks and 21 total pressures on the year and was among the notable underrated players in the league.

After BCCI dissolves national selectors' role in picking zonal teams, sanctity of the tournament comes under scanner

CHENNAI/NEW DELHI: A few days before the Duleep Trophy got underway at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru on Sunday, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia announced that the final will be shifted to MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The reason given was that there will be fans who will come to watch the match, which doesn't happen in the CoE.

Chennai is a cricket-crazy centre. But when you ask those who 'book' their IPL tickets long before the event, whether they would be interested in attending the Duleep final, the standard query is: "Will Shubman Gill play?"

Gill, in this case, stands for all the stars of Indian cricket. The Duleep final is from Sept 6-10, and it will be interesting to see that those who are not part of the Afghanistan T20 series starting on Sept 12 turn out at MAC.

That said, the primary purpose of the inter-zonal tournament is to check out the best performers in the Ranji Trophy go head-to-head against each other. The relevance of the tournament, especially after the inception of IPL, has diminished drastically. Yet, it remains a stepping stone for a lot of players.

The tournament's sanctity has been up for debate with the selection process. The BCCI, in the last decade, has often tried playing the tournament with national selectors picking the India 'A', 'B' and 'C' teams.

This year, the board has reverted to the inter-zonal format and has kept the national selectors out of the equation. The result? Delhi opener Sanat Sangwan, who scored 828 runs in seven Ranji Trophy matches, was on Sunday, benched by the North Zone management and instead middle-order batter Yash Dhull was played as an opener. The Central Zone team has only one player from semifinalist Uttarakhand while Madhya Pradesh was the only team from the zone to have qualified for the quarterfinals. There have been a few debatable selections in the South Zone team as well.

Former national selector Devang Gandhi believes that a national selector has to be involved in the selection process if the sanctity of the tournament is to be saved. "When we were selectors from 2016-2021, BCCI had given us the responsibility of picking the Duleep Trophy to maintain continuity in a player's development. If the opener with the highest runs in the country doesn't get to play Duleep Trophy, it defeats the purpose of the tournament. The board must at least ensure one selector from each zone is present in planning their respective zonal teams. Otherwise, politics at the state **** ociation level can crop up. There's no accountability if BCCI selectors are not used," Gandhi told TOI.

"Today we are seeing Manav Suthar and Saransh Jain as products of domestic cricket. If that structure is compromised, then it will be difficult to see such journeys," Gandhi added.

DENVER (AP) — Jo Adell homered, Tanner Bibee threw six solid innings for his first victory in a month and the Cleveland Guardians held on to beat the Colorado Rockies 4-3 on Saturday night.
The win, coupled with Texas' 3-0 loss to the Los Angeles Angels, moved Cleveland into a tie with the Rangers for the last AL wild card. The Guardians have won three straight.

Tristan Wirfs has already established himself as one of the NFL's premier offensive tackles. In 2026, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers star has a chance to take that reputation a step further and make a legitimate case for Protector of the Year. Wirfs enters the season coming off another dominant campaign. Despite playing a career-low 778 offensive snaps while dealing with injuries, he finished with a 92.7 overall PFF grade, ranking second among 89 qualified tackles. His 91.6 run blocking grade ranked third, while his 84.9 pass blocking grade ranked fourth. He also allowed just two sacks and four quarterback hits while surrendering 23 total pressures.
PFF recently ranked Wirfs as the 2nd offensive tackle in the NFL heading into 2026, behind only Detroit Lions star Penei Sewell. PFF noted that Wirfs produced the best performance of his career when healthy in 2025 and expects him to remain at an elite level this season. The biggest question may simply be whether he can stay healthy and play a larger percentage of the season. His 2025 production was outstanding despite missing time, and another full season at that level could put him in position to challenge Sewell for the crown.
Wirfs has already earned five consecutive Pro Bowl selections and two first-team All-Pro honors, including becoming the first player in NFL history to earn first-team All-Pro recognition at both right and left tackle. At this point, there isn't much left for Wirfs to prove. But winning Protector of the Year in 2026 would add another major accomplishment to an already impressive resume. If he stays healthy and continues playing at the level he showed in 2025, Wirfs absolutely belongs in that conversation.

Alpine's Pierre Gasly has received no further action for an alleged unsafe release during Dutch GP Qualifying. The Frenchman, who qualified P11 in Zandvoort, was released directly ahead of Audi's Gabriel Bortoleto during Q1 but upon review has avoided punishment.
Relief for the Enstone team, who have brought a major package to the Dutch GP, more upgrades than any other team this weekend, with Gasly the sole Alpine driver sporting the eight aero updates. His teammate Franco Colapinto qualified P14, and will receive the upgrade package next time out at Monza.
Meanwhile, Audi have looked impressive so far this weekend at Zandvoort, with Bortoleto qualifying P8. His teammate Nico Hulkenberg, however, will line up outside the points positions on Sunday, after qualifying P13.

Ferrari has a Saturday problem to solve. Lewis Hamilton finished seventh in the Dutch Grand Prix Sprint at Zandvoort, 12.188 seconds behind Mercedes winner George Russell, and says the team will change his car before the rest of the weekend continues.
In Friday's Sprint Qualifying, Hamilton secured seventh place with a time of 1:12.191. Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc qualified third after clocking 1:11.622, finishing 0.569 seconds ahead. Russell took pole with a 1:11.567, ahead of Lando Norris at 1:11.608, Leclerc, Oscar Piastri at 1:11.666, and Kimi Antonelli at 1:11.794.
The awkward part is that Hamilton was not miles away from the front in the only practice session. He placed fourth, just 0.190 seconds behind Antonelli's 1:12.949. Ferrari then adjusted Hamilton's setup before Sprint Qualifying. After the adjustments, Hamilton confirmed that the changes didn't have the required effect: "Not a good, not a good session," he said. Formula1.com also quoted him saying, "P1 felt good. We made subtle adjustments to the car, but then we got into qualifying. It was a completely different car."
That left Ferrari with a split: Leclerc started third and finished second, while Hamilton spent much of the 24-lap Sprint chasing Max Verstappen. Hamilton got within one second of Verstappen with eight laps left, but he could not complete the pass.

A divided federal appeals court ruled that the Trump-picked US Attorney in Albany is serving unlawfully and can no longer be involved in the investigation of one of the president's top foes.
The Second Circuit Court of Appeals, in a 2-1 decision, upheld a lower court's ruling from January that said the appointment of John Sarcone, then-Acting US attorney for the Northern District of New York, is not valid and disqualified him from a probe into the state's Attorney General Letitia James.
The decision marks the third time a federal appeals court has rejected as unlawful the Trump administration's process for naming US attorneys without Senate approval.
"We disagree with the court's decision, and intend to take this case to the Supreme Court," the Justice Department wrote in a tweet Friday.
Earlier this week, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals said the US attorney for Nevada, Sigal Chattah, is serving unlawfully. The Justice Department said it would appeal to the Supreme Court. In December the Third Circuit ruled that Alina Habba was not validly appointed US attorney for New Jersey.

There aren't many teammates who would do what Frankie Muniz decided to do on Friday. After qualifying for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Team Reaume's Luke Baldwin and the No. 2 Ford were among the five DNQs.
Muniz, who is a full-time driver in the Truck Series in the No. 33, was set to start at the very back of the field in 36th for Saturday's race.
However, the actor-turned-racer made the decision to willingly give up his seat for the race, allowing Baldwin to take over the No. 33 for this weekend's NCTS event.
"Luke is one of the most talented young drivers in this garage, and this team has two trucks here this weekend," said Muniz in a release from the team. "He came here ready to race and did everything he could. Sitting him out when we have a qualified truck that can put him in the field doesn't make sense for anyone. I'm giving up my seat because I believe it gives the 33 team the best chance to compete for the most available points this weekend. Luke's speed and his ability to run up front when he gets a clean run is what this organization needs right now. I'll be in the pits cheering him on."
Team owner Josh Reaume praised Muniz for the decision, saying: "Frankie didn't hesitate. That's the kind of teammate and person he is. "Luke has shown time and time again that he can extract everything from our equipment. With the regular season ending Saturday and owner points still on the table, this move puts our strongest available driver in the No. 33 for the 175-lap race. We appreciate Frankie's selflessness and look forward to seeing Luke behind the wheel."

On August 13, Stratasys (NASDAQ:SSYS) held its second-quarter earnings call, and the headline number was consumables revenue hitting a record $66.3 million. For a company trying to prove it has moved beyond selling prototyping machines into recurring, production-grade manufacturing, that record matters more than the top line itself. But underneath the record sat a cash flow warning that investors will want to weigh carefully.
Aerospace and defense is Stratasys's largest business, and it grew 17% year over year in the second quarter. Management pointed to expanding adoption across the U.S. Air Force, where the company's F900 system is certified for flightworthy production parts, describing the orders as increasing in volume across the Air Force's sustainment enterprise rather than one-time purchases. Once a part is qualified on a Stratasys platform, switching suppliers becomes costly, which is the basis for calling this demand structural. Stratasys Direct, the company's parts manufacturing arm, grew 12.1% year over year, fueled by defense technology customers building drones and munitions.
The quarter also delivered two large multiyear systems deals. Quickparts expanded its relationship with Stratasys by purchasing 12 Neo 800-plus systems on top of six units it already owned, with three of the new systems placed in Europe. FAW Group, one of China's largest auto manufacturers, signed for 12 F900 systems by year-end, with two shipped in the second quarter, adding to five F900s and eight other Stratasys machines it already runs to make interior parts like armrests and panels. Stratasys was also awarded a two-year, $7.8 million program through the 2026 America Makes OIB Modernization Challenge to develop monitoring technology for its F900 and F3300 platforms. Layered on top is the pending $42.5 million cash acquisition of MarkForged, whose continuous carbon fiber technology generated about $70 million in revenue in 2025 and which management expects to add positively to EBITDA within a year of closing.
System revenue fell to $26.4 million from $30.6 million a year earlier, meaning machine sales are shrinking even as the recurring materials business grows. Gross margin slipped too, with non-GAAP gross margin at 47.2% versus 47.7% a year ago, which the company attributed largely to a stronger Israeli shekel raising costs incurred in that currency. GAAP net loss widened slightly to $16.9 million, compared to $16.7 million a year ago, though GAAP loss per diluted share improved slightly to $0.19 from $0.20.

On August 13, Abeona Therapeutics (NASDAQ:ABEO) reported second-quarter results that captured a company scaling a genuinely new kind of medicine while working through the ***** ps that come with it. ZEVASKYN, its cell therapy for a severe skin disease called recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, brought in $11.4 million in revenue for the quarter, and the number of patients treated kept rising. But the call also laid out cancellations, manufacturing hiccups, and a shift in how the company plans to report its own progress, all within the same three months.
Revenue climbed 31%, or $2.7 million, to $11.4 million from $8.7 million in the first quarter of 2026. Abeona has now treated 12 patients since ZEVASKYN's launch, including five in the second quarter and three more in the third quarter to date. The treatment center network grew alongside that, reaching seven activated sites with the recent addition of Cincinnati Children's, one of the largest epidermolysis bullosa treatment hubs in the country. New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia also came online during the quarter, and CHOP moved fast, completing its first treatment in July just months after activating in May. UTMB, meanwhile, finished its first patient biopsy. Roughly 40% of the addressable patient population now has in-state access to a qualified treatment center.
Abeona also picked up a new technology add-on payment from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, effective Oct. 1, 2026, for fiscal year 2027, making it one of only three approvals out of 15 new applications that cycle. On the cost side, R&D spending fell to $5 million from $9.6 million, which had included a one-time $7 million licensing payment, and SG&A dropped to $15.8 million from $19.5 million. The company closed the quarter with $146.8 million in cash and short-term investments.
The net loss widened to $20.2 million, or $0.35 per share, from $17.1 million, or $0.30 per share, in the first quarter. Of the five patients treated in the second quarter, only four generated recognized revenue, because one batch's cell yield came in below the threshold required for recognition. Management pointed to ZEVASKYN's 84-hour shelf life as a core operational challenge, since it forces dermatologists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and hospital staff to lock in exact dates well ahead of time. That rigidity showed up directly in the numbers: two scheduled biopsies were canceled at the last minute in the second quarter after patients' health unexpectedly declined, and because those slots had been booked so far in advance, they could not be filled by another patient.
