Corinthians advanced to the Brasileirão Feminino A1 semifinal on Sunday night (7) with another win over Cruzeiro, 2-1, at Canindé in São Paulo. After a 1-0 victory in the first leg, Timão defeated Raposa again, this time coming from behind. Marília opened the scoring for Cruzeiro, but Jhonson, Tamires, and Thaís Ferreira found the net to seal Corinthians' place in the next round.
The São Paulo black-and-white side's qualification set the matchups for the next phase. In the semifinal for the tenth consecutive edition, Corinthians will face Bahia, which eliminated Palmeiras on penalties. Flamengo, which got past Ferroviária, will take on São Paulo, Grêmio's conqueror.
The first and second legs of the semifinal are scheduled for September 13 and 20, respectively.
