MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, put dozens of strangers through one of his outrageous tests: How long can people stay in a grocery store to win $250,000? One contestant, Juan Garcia, managed to do it and took home far more than he bargained for after spending over 200 days in the store.
Back in April, MrBeast uploaded a video to his channel ******* led "Last to Leave Grocery Store, Wins $250,000," and in the months since, the video racked up over 200 million views.
At the start of the video, MrBeast tells his audience he just bought a grocery store and uses the store's intercom to announce that the last person to leave wins the $250,000 prize pot (kept in a comically large gold shopping cart). Some shoppers immediately left with a bounty of groceries that MrBeast told everyone were free; others began to strategize, building forts and stockpiling food.
After 67 days, with only four contestants left, MrBeast decided to shake things up and gave them an ultimatum: If they decided to stay, he'd restock the entire grocery store, and the four of them had to eat all the groceries – if they were able to do so, they could split a $1,000,000 prize. They decided to stay, and the video ended on a cliffhanger, leaving fans wondering where the new video would be for months.
Today, MrBeast and his team finally released the second part, ******* led "Eat Everything In A Grocery Store Win $1,000,000."

Bitcoin's most violent rally of its two-year drawdown wasn't powered by fresh bullish bets. It was powered by bears getting crushed, according to a new report from ******* ytics firm Glassnode and crypto exchange Bybit.
Over five days in August, Bitcoin climbed 24.6% even as coin-denominated open interest, a measure of active leverage, fell 12.6%, the report found. That combination is the tell: rather than traders piling into new long positions, the move ran on the forced unwinding of existing shorts.
Roughly 64,000 BTC worth of open interest was closed out, and short positions supplied 89% of every liquidated dollar during the stretch.
The options market told the same story. Puts, the contracts traders buy to protect against a fall, had priced richer than calls for 361 straight days. A single session ended that run, flipping roughly a year of downside positioning as the market scrambled to reprice.
Bybit's own volatility index traveled four times its normal daily range in one session, and the front of the futures curve repriced sharply while longer-dated contracts barely moved, a sign the market read the move as a one-off event rather than a lasting regime change.

Economist Peter Schiff is making the case for stockpiling nickels, arguing the metal packed into each five-cent coin is now worth more than its face value and could make a better bet than U.S. Treasuries.
In a recent post on X, Schiff said the copper and nickel contained in modern nickels is worth about 7.76 cents — roughly 55% more than their face value — and suggested people buy them from banks before the U.S. government potentially stops producing them.

The San Francisco 49ers came out firing on every cylinder to deliver a 27-7 beatdown Down Under of the Los Angeles Rams. From the decision to arrive early to their piling on late scoring, how well did Brock Purdy, Kyle Shanahan and the crew do in upsetting the Super Bowl favorites to start the season?
Offense: A-
The old guys ruled. And that Kaelon Black kid wasn't too shabby. A 30-something (Demarcus Robinson, Mike Evans, Deebo Samuel) accounted for their three TDs and an almost 40-something, Trent Williams, was the best of the bunch, because you and I had as many tackles, QB hits and sacks as Rams' All-Universe pass rusher Myles Garrett. Less happily, De'Zhaun Stribling and Jake Tonges were carted away in the second quarter. George Kittle was a rumor. Yet Brock Purdy didn't notice. Outside of a horrific interception, Purdy was terrific with his arm, legs and swaggy first-down celebrations. Does Christian McCaffrey finally have a caddy? Yes. Rookie Black looked excellent in a real game after resembling a third-round find in the spring and summer.
Defense: A+
Raheem Morris in 2028? The well-respected new defensive coordinator looked like Bill Belichick (the pre-2022 version) while his unit made the reigning NFL MVP Matthew Stafford look ordinary. Sorry, correction: not just ordinary, but awful. Having Nick Bosa, Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw (combined games played for 49ers in 2025: 9) back together did give Morris some added IQ points. The LB duo turned out the lights on the Rams when Greenlaw held up Tyler Higbee and Warner peanut-punched the ball out. The 49ers didn't have a sack, but they made Stafford unsettled. Osa Odighizuwa had four of their eight QB hits, including a pressure that led to Stafford's INT.

Karnataka batter Karun Nair has taken a subtle but pointed swipe at South Zone after being overlooked for the playing XI in the ongoing Duleep Trophy final against East Zone at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Nair, who was part of the South Zone squad, was left out of the XI for both the semi-final and the final. After a post on X (formerly Twitter) described his omission as 'inexplicable', Nair reposted it with his own response.

'Inexplicable would be an understatement,' he wrote, accompanied by a laughing emoji.
The decision has gained further attention after South Zone endured a difficult first two days of the final, with East Zone piling up 708 runs before being bowled out.

Nair did not remain with the South Zone squad after learning that he would not feature in the final. Instead, he returned home to join the Karnataka State Cricket ******* ociation's pre-season red-ball camp.

The batter then made an immediate impact, scoring a century for KSCA Secretary XI against Chhattisgarh.

South Zone have not provided an explanation for Nair's omission from the playing XI for the final. His absence had already raised eyebrows before the previous match against North Zone, when captain Tilak Varma explained that Nair's exclusion was a tactical call.

At the time, Varma said Nair was 'just unlucky' after opting for Hyderabad's left-handed batter Kodimela Himateja in the middle order.

"Karun is just unlucky. He has scored a lot of runs in domestic seasons," Tilak had said while addressing the media at the CoE.

"I have chosen Himateja in place of Karun as they have good left-arm spinners. So we wanted a leftie in the middle order. He has also scored a decent amount of runs in domestic cricket. I was just backing him. As a youngster, he also has a good career. At the same time, it is very unfortunate for Karun."

However, Himateja's opportunity did not work out. He was dismissed for a two-ball duck and subsequently dropped for the final.

South Zone replaced him with another left-hander, Devdutt Padikkal, rather than bringing Nair back into the XI.
The omission of Nair has become an even bigger talking point after South Zone's bowling attack struggled to contain East Zone in the final.

East Zone resumed the second innings on 385/4 and continued to dominate from the outset. South Zone took the new ball after one over, hoping Mohammad Siraj and MD Nidheesh could make early inroads, but neither managed to break the partnership between Ishan Kishan and ******* ar Kushagra.

Kishan immediately attacked Siraj and Nidheesh, while Kushagra provided strong support from the other end. South Zone subsequently turned to Tripurana Vijay and Shreyas Gopal, but the change in bowling did little to halt the scoring.

Kushagra eventually completed his sixth first-class century, making 101 from 132 ******* with eight fours and five sixes before falling to Vijay shortly before lunch.

Kishan then took complete control of the innings.

If you are old enough, you remember a time before the internet. And you also remember Yahoo! and America Online being two of the most dominant internet companies early in the internet's development. The stocks were hot way back then, but today, both have basically flamed out and been swallowed up by other companies. Other internet companies became more dominant.
This isn't unusual in the tech sector, and investors piling into artificial intelligence (AI) stocks should keep that in mind. Sure, you could make a big bet on an AI stock that you think has winning tech, like a high-powered chip or a specialized application, or you could go with a picks-and-shovels play like Brookfield Renewable (NYSE: BEP)(NYSE: BEPC). Here's why this clean energy company could be the better bet.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Right now, artificial intelligence is a hot sector. Too many investors see it as a way to get rich quickly. And that has had pretty predictable consequences. For example, SoundHound (NASDAQ: SOUN) provides AI voice services. That's exciting, but probably not unique enough to build a business around. Still, its stock skyrocketed as investors jumped on the next hot thing. The shares have since plunged back to earth, down 70% from their 2024 peak.
The same could be happening now with Western Digital (NASDAQ: WDC), a maker of data storage devices. Huge demand from the AI build got investors excited about the stock, but that excitement has begun to fade. The stock has fallen roughly 40% from its recent highs. That's actually the second huge drawdown over the last three years. Even AI poster-child Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) has proven to be a highly volatile stock.

"There's nothing like an Irish family."
Katie Taylor addressed the Croke Park crowd as she paid tribute to her mother Bridget, but her extended family of 83,000 inside Croke Park and many more tuning in will have known this one was for them too.
Fairytale endings in boxing are a rarity, but Taylor is no ordinary fighter and her swansong proved as extraordinary as the fighter and person.
After 30 years lacing up the gloves, Taylor, 40, sails off into the sunset after the most perfect of farewells in front of 83,000 adoring fans at Dublin's iconic Croke Park, just three miles from the scene of her first official bout 25 years earlier.
The final act in the ring was to sweep past Flora Pili to cement her legacy in Ireland and beyond, bowing out as a three-time and two-weight undisputed champion.

Clemson's season opener could not have gone much worse, and social media had plenty to say about it.
The Tigers were blasted 51-10 by LSU on Saturday night, handing Dabo Swinney the largest loss of his Clemson coaching career. As the score continued to get away from Clemson, fans, ***** ysts and college football accounts quickly turned the performance into one of the biggest talking points of the night.
Much of the criticism centered on just how one-sided the matchup became. LSU finished with 644 total yards while Clemson managed only 145, and the Tigers were beaten 38-8 in first downs.
Those numbers gave Clemson fans very little to defend, while rival fan bases wasted no time piling on.
The reaction was especially harsh considering the expectations surrounding the program entering the season. Instead of making an early statement, Clemson left Baton Rouge with an 0-1 record and plenty of questions.

Post-Fight Thoughts: Phenomenal performance from Bevan (10-0, 9 KO) against former Olympian Brennan (6-1, 1 KO). They spent virtually the entire fight forehead to forehead, with Bevan's superior sharpness, output, and power keeping him in the driver's seat throughout. Tons of potential at just 25; he's got the shot selection and overall composure of a mature, complete fighter. Gutting for Brennan, who never gave up but just found himself completely outgunned and let down by his corner.

Katie Taylor has taken her final week as a professional boxer in her stride.
Each media event has been ticked off with the kind of composure and poise she has displayed in the ring for over two decades.
Dublin blessed Taylor and opponent Flora Pili with some early autumn sun as they weighed in at Trinity College before Saturday's undisputed light-welterweight battle at a sold-out Croke Park.
Taylor has not missed weight once in her 26-fight career and she was not going to buck the trend as she was greeted by adoring fans - many whom have followed her career since she won Olympic gold in 2012.
The announcement of the weights - both coming in just under the 10st (63.5kg) limit - was almost immaterial.

Katie Taylor finished preparation for her Croke Park farewell against the unbeaten Flora Pili by inviting a young fan into the ring to train with her.
Once Taylor had completed her session at Wednesday's open workout, she picked out Clodagh Keating from the crowd at random, gloved up her right hand and then coached her to throw some shots while moving.
Keating, a 10-year-old aspiring boxer from Dublin who has been learning the basics in classes, burst into tears at the prospect of being in the ring with her idol and then had her hand held aloft when the session was over.
Taylor is aiming to become a three-time undisputed world champion by defeating Pili with a sold-out 80,000 crowd in attendance for her final fight before retiring.

Before Deirdre Gogarty became Ireland's first female world boxing champion in 1997, she had already inspired a young Irish girl. Katie Taylor was learning the art of pugilism at a time - as Gogarty had found - opportunities for women in boxing were almost non-existent in Ireland. Taylor wrote to her hero in 1996, saying she did not "see boxing for girls taking off here in the near future", adding "maybe one day they'll even let us box in the Olympics". As it turned out, Taylor was integral in getting women's boxing into the Olympics - winning gold in 2012. She is set to retire on Saturday as one of Ireland's greatest sportspeople. As Taylor - a two-weight undisputed world champion - prepares to walk out at a sold-out Croke Park in Dublin for her farewell fight against Flora Pili on Saturday, Gogarty writes back to the 40-year-old...

As promoter Eddie Hearn tries to quantify the impact Katie Taylor has made throughout her career, there is a smile and shake of the head as he says, "the whole story, you couldn't make it up."
On Saturday night, Taylor will make her final walk to the ring when she takes on Flora Pili at Croke Park, with the chance to become undisputed light-welterweight champion once again.
While Taylor entered professional boxing in 2016 with an Olympic gold medal, five world and seven European amateur ****** les to her name, there were no guarantees that star power could flourish in the paid code where women's boxing remained firmly in the shadows.
After agreeing to meet Taylor, her mother Bridget and manager Brian Peters, Hearn's interest was more than piqued.

Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn has expressed regret over not bringing Katie Taylor to GAA headquarters earlier, following extraordinary ticket demand for the Irish fighter's farewell contest at Croke Park.
The 40-year-old will fulfil a lifelong dream when she takes to the ring in Dublin on Saturday night, seeking to become a three-time undisputed world champion against the undefeated Flora Pili.
A sell-out crowd of 80,000 is set to gather for the pioneering athlete's final bout prior to retirement, though Hearn remains confident that vast numbers of additional tickets could easily have been sold.
Previous concerns regarding financial viability, substantial security expenses, and complex logistics had dissuaded the promoter from organising a Croke Park show headlined by Taylor—a hesitation he now reflects on with disappointment.
Hearn said: "If Croker would have originally gone 'Yes, this is going to be massive', I would have gone 'Wow' and we would have done it.

Croke Park's storied history contains some of Irish sport's most seminal moments.
Primarily a stadium for Gaelic games, there have been occasions when other sports graced the hallowed turf and on 19 July 1972, punches replaced points as Muhammad Ali took on Al 'Blue' Lewis.
When Katie Taylor makes her final career ringwalk on Saturday with the undisputed light-welterweight crown on offer against Flora Pili, 54 years will have passed since 'The Greatest' starred at the since redeveloped venue.
While Ali was the main attraction in 1972, it was Belfast's Paddy Maguire who boxed last on that balmy Wednesday evening, coming through on points against France's Guy Caudron.
"It's hard to believe it has taken so long for boxing to return to Croke Park," Maguire told BBC Sport NI.

NEW YORK — Novak Djokovic, despite being 39 years old, had as good a chance as anyone to make a deep run at the US Open and finally capture that still elusive 25th Grand Slam ****** le.
On center stage at Arthur Ashe Stadium, where he has captured four US Open championships, including his last Grand Slam triumph in 2023, the greatest men's Grand Slam winner in history looked lethargic, moping around, taking pills, throwing up, walking as slowly as he could to the sideline, and was sometimes downright disinterested, against Mariano Navone, and was stunned in the first round, 7-6(5), 5-7, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1, snapping a 78 first-round Grand Slam match winning streak and bringing a stunning, quick end to his tournament with the questions again if he has much left in the tank.
Djokovic's opening-round exit was the first at a Grand Slam since the Australian Open in 2006, a tournament he would go on to win 10 times. It's also his first loss in the two rounds at the US Open, having won his previous 37 such matches.
The four-hour, 36-minute first-round match finally ended when the fourth-seeded Djokovic's weak return across the net was returned and could do nothing to stop it.
For the first 30 minutes, Djokovic certainly looked the part of a player who would make quick work of the No. 49-ranked player in the world, sprinting out to a 3-0 and 4-1 lead in the first set, before falling apart under a hail of sloppy play, piling up the unforced errors seemingly on every return.

SEATTLE -- The Sparks (14-25) have one more to go before going on their two-and-a-half-week FIBA World Cup break. They will take on the Storm (8-31) in Seattle for a little Sunday matinee action.
The last time these two teams faced each other? It was an embarrassing effort at home. They just had an eight-day break and they scored the second least points of the season at 64.
The Sparks did, however, beat them in their first encounter this season in June. So they have the rubber match on Sunday.
The team made a lot of moves this weekend as they claimed Aaliyah Nye off waivers, signed Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda to a developmental deal, and let go of Kate Martin and Alissa Pili (developmental deal). Neither Nye nor Mwenentanda will be available on Sunday so they'll have 11 available for the game. For Seattle, Awa Fam, who represents Spain, has already left for the World Cup. Natisha Hiedeman will also be out due to a shoulder injury.
These two teams are out of the running for the playoffs. But it's about pride and a strong finish to the season.
