This 1xbet.ie review looks at five legendary footballers without whom it is impossible to imagine 21st-century Liverpool.
In 2014, Liverpool lost out to Chelsea in the race to sign Salah. However, the Egyptian failed to live up to expectations with the Blues and spent time on loan in Serie A before joining Roma permanently. He enjoyed a successful 2016/17 season in Rome, scoring roughly once every two matches, and in the summer of 2017 the Merseysiders finally secured their long-term target for what was then a club-record fee of £36.9m. Salah fully justified the investment, scoring 257 goals in 442 appearances.
The Egyptian right-winger helped the Reds regain their former glory. In the 2019/20 season, the English giants won the Premier League ****** le for the first time and repeated the feat five years later. Mo Salah's honours also include victory in the 2018/19 Champions League.
Alisson Becker followed the same route to Anfield as Mo Salah, joining Liverpool from Roma. In July 2018, his £65m transfer set a world record for a goalkeeper, which was subsequently broken by Kepa Arrizabalaga. However, while the Spaniard failed to settle at Chelsea, the Brazilian became Liverpool's undisputed first-choice goalkeeper for many years. Alisson has kept more than 130 clean sheets for the Reds in all competitions, including over 100 in the Premier League, the world's leading domestic club competition.
Virgil van Dijk was once the world's most expensive defender. In January 2018, Liverpool paid £75m for the Dutchman, an unprecedented sum for a defender at the time. Some pundits believed that he was overpriced, but they were proved wrong: the 1.96-metre-tall Virgil became a rock at the back and a model of reliability. Any club's success depends on a combination of potent attacking play, a creative midfield and a rock-solid defence, which continues to be marshalled by the Merseyside club's captain.

Justin Gaethje isn't done fighting just yet, but he'll need a massive fight to lure him back into the cage.
Gaethje is coming off an epic performance at the UFC White House event, beating down heavy favorite Ilia Topuria to capture the lightweight ****** le. There was some talk of retirement following that win. Gaethje has talked about this being his final run. And in a new interview with MMA Junkie, his manager Ali Abdelaziz shared his thoughts on what's next for "The Highlight."
"2027, we'll see Justin Gaethje fighting," Abdelaziz said. "He's fought two times this year. He deserves the time off. He's still the lightweight champion, undisputed, and I think all these guys have to chase him. But he wants to be in a big fight. A big, big fight. What is the big fight? Who decides that? It's Dana White who decides what's the biggest fight they can make."
As far as Abdelaziz is concerned, Gaethje has already accomplished enough to retire happy. But he won't stop his client from capitalizing on his current position to make a whole lot of money.
"I would like to see Justin Gaethje [retire]," Abdelaziz said. "If he retired today, I will be so happy because he did everything. And if he wants to choose to fight one more time, he can fight one more time because ****** ody tells him what to do. He's the boss."

Perhaps Justin Gaethje is willing to stick around for some big fights.
Gaethje (28-5 MMA, 11-5 UFC) likely cemented his status as a UFC Hall of Famer when he claimed undisputed lightweight gold by stunning Ilia Topuria at UFC Freedom 250 in June. "The Highlight" pondered retirement, but it didn't take long for him to walk back that thought – even though the likes of Georges St-Pierre are encouraging him to.
Lightweight contenders, such as Arman Tsarukyan, Charles Oliveira and Max Holloway, are all options for Gaethje's next fight, but are they what he's looking for?

From the WSOF ****** le to the BMF belt to now UFC lightweight champion, Abdelaziz said his longtime client has done it all.

If you're packing up for a sunny summer holiday, don't forget to include your boxing schedule for August.

He walked out of the First Direct Arena with the British, Commonwealth and European straps in the process.

Prince Louis proved he is the royal family's undisputed king of facial expressions as he joined his parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and older brother Prince George at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The eight-year-old delighted royal fans throughout the event, pulling a series of animated expressions from wide-eyed amazement to bursts of laughter as he watched the sporting action unfold from the stands.
Dressed smartly in a sky-blue Ralph Lauren shirt and navy trousers, Louis was every inch the enthusiastic young spectator, while Prince George, 12, looked equally polished in a crisp white linen shirt.
The brothers were spotted chatting excitedly between events, reacting to the competition and entertaining those seated nearby with their animated conversations.
Louis has become something of a fan favourite thanks to his wonderfully expressive reactions during public appearances, first capturing hearts during Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations before delighting crowds again at King Charles' Coronation and Trooping the Colour.

The Los Angeles Rams could not have expected Davante Adams to have the impact he's had on the franchise when they signed him last offseason. Not only did he lead the NFL in receiving touchdowns, but he also became a mentor and the undisputed leader of the wide receiver room.
Puka Nacua has credited Adams for taking charge and being the ultimate example, while Konata Mumpfield has become sort of an apprentice, rapidly growing his role within the offensive scheme. In 2026, it appears that CJ Daniels has become the latest to seek Adams' advice.
During a recent press conference, Adams told reporters that he's developed a rapport with Daniels during OTAs, helping the rookie with elements of his game that need improvement. Daniels sought Adams' advice before the break before camp.
Davante Adams said rookie CJ Daniels approached him before the break between the offseason program and training camp and asked him what he thought Daniels needed to work on.

WWE SummerSlam Night 2 is here! After a wild Night 1, WWE returns to U.S. Bank Stadium to close out SummerSlam weekend with a six-match card that features four championship contests.
Closing out the show is the latest meeting between stablemates-turned-rivals Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. Tonight marks the first singles match since 2022 between Reigns, who has been World Heavyweight Champion since winning in the main event of WrestleMania 42 in April, and Rollins.
A new WWE Women's Champion will also be crowned as Rhea Ripley has been unable to compete due to injury. Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Tiffany Stratton, Chelsea Green and Lash Legend will square off in a ladder match to be named interim champion as Ripley recovers.
Both of WWE's men's midcard championships are on the line as well, as Trick Williams defends his U.S. Championship against the newly returned Baron Corbin and Penta defends his Intercontinental Championship against Chad Gable, who has parlayed his run as El Grande Americano into the most significant momentum he's had as a singles competitor.
The final two matches both have stakes attached, as Finn Balor and Sami Zayn will battle to become the No. 1 content for the Undisputed WWE Championship, and Danhausen and Dominik Mysterio will likely end the Judgment Day's feud with the popular star in a match where the winner gets $100,000 human monies.

WWE SummerSlam 2026 delivered arguably the biggest bout WWE could possibly do in CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes.
A true dream match that was once set for WrestleMania 43, Punk vs. Rhodes pinned two WWE cornerstones against one another a few years after their infamous departures from AEW. In the weeks leading up to SummerSlam, Rhodes and Punk kept things relatively civil, but inside U.S. Bank Stadium, the gloves came off.
Punk and Rhodes went head-to-head for WWE's biggest prize, the Undisputed WWE Championship, on Night One of SummerSlam 2026.

Memory has become the latest pressure point in the AI hardware race. With demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) continuing to outstrip supply, soaring memory prices are beginning to ripple across the semiconductor industry, forcing companies to rethink product designs and pricing strategies. Even Nvidia Corporation (NVDA), the undisputed leader of the AI chip market, appears to be feeling the effects.
On Wednesday, Wedbush Securities highlighted how rising memory costs are increasingly influencing Nvidia's business, from changes to the configuration of its upcoming Vera Rubin platform to another reported round of price hikes for its consumer graphics cards. The brokerage believes the company is navigating not only higher costs but also persistent supply constraints in a market where memory has become just as critical as the GPUs themselves.

August is kicking off with a bang as WWE hosts SummerSlam across two nights this weekend in Minnesota. It marks the second time WWE has shifted its second-biggest PLE of the year to a two-night format, and the show has big shoes to fill after last year's surprise-filled show.
As usual, the Uncrowned Horsemen — Kel Dansby, Robert Jackman, Drake Riggs and Anthony Sulla-Heffinger — are here to break down the entire event, answer burning questions and make predictions for the 12-match card. Let's ride!
CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship headlines Night 1.
Kel Dansby: I haven't been genuinely excited for a Roman Reigns ****** le match in a long time, so Cody Rhodes vs. CM Punk wins by default.
It has everything you want in a SummerSlam main event: two of WWE's biggest stars, a strong story, and several believable directions depending on who leaves as champion. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins, on the other hand, feels like it's leaning heavily on Shield nostalgia. If we're being honest, we're right back to Reigns relying on Bloodline interference to keep the ****** le. At this point, it doesn't feel like Rollins has much of a chance to dethrone him.

SummerSlam 2026 is set to kick off this weekend with CM Punk and Cody Rhodes headlining Night 1 of the two-night Premium Live Event.
Punk heads into the match as the Undisputed WWE Champion following his return and win over Sami Zayn.
Zayn is now competing in a No. 1 Contender match on the same PLE, taking on Finn Balor, with the winner of that bout set to get a ***** le shot against the winner of Punk vs Rhodes.
At present, it is looking more likely that whoever does emerge victorious out of Sami and Finn will be challenging CM Punk for the ***** le at some point down the line.

Long before LeBron James bid farewell to the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason, the transition of power within the franchise began. Luka Dončić, whom the Lakers famously traded for in February 2025, became their crown jewel.
But James remained at the heart of JJ Redick's squad that season and this past season. James and Dončić co-existed remarkably well, each respecting the other's game while forming an entertaining three-headed attack with Austin Reaves.
Even though the Lakers have been planning their future around Dončić for a good bit of time now, it wasn't until James officially closed the door on his chapter in L.A. that Dončić stood alone in the spotlight. He's the undisputed face of the franchise, and he's reportedly embracing a leadership role that's seemingly heightened in the absence of James, a four-time NBA champion and four-time league MVP.
In fact, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, Dončić is hosting the entire Lakers roster in Slovenia for a four-day minicamp in August. The trip will feature workouts, golf, bonding and touring Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia, McMenamin reported on Wednesday.
Dončić, a six-time All-NBA first teamer, is preparing for a pivotal season in his already prolific career. He played his way into the MVP conversation last season before a Grade 2 left hamstring strain effectively ended his campaign prematurely. He experienced that setback in early April and didn't make it back for the Lakers' postseason run, which came to a screeching halt in the Western Conference semifinals.

CM Punk and Cody Rhodes are set to face off during the upcoming SummerSlam Premium Live Event.
The annual WWE show will kick off this weekend, with Night 1 taking place on Saturday, August 1.
The main event of Saturday's show sees Punk and Rhodes competing for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Going into the match, neither wrestler has been booked as a heel, even if some fans have grown tired of Cody.
But that would not have been the case had CM Punk got his way, it seems.

Quarterback play is always paramount in modern college football, as opposed to past decades when the running game mattered most in the sport. This is true in the Big Ten. Fernando Mendoza, the starting quarterback for the **** le-winning Indiana Hoosiers last season, was picked No. 1 in this past NFL draft. This upcoming season, the best quarterbacks in college football reside in the Big Ten. Whoever comes out on top in the Big Ten will have a quarterback who proved to be the best in college football.
Here is my ranking of the top five quarterbacks in the Big Ten:
Dante Moore shone last season, and just like last year, he was in conversations for being the best quarterback in college football. Moore threw for 2733 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. He is dangerous in the pocket and an underrated athlete. Last year, he made the most of having great weapons and a great run game, helping lead Oregon's prolific offense to a college football playoff berth. This season, he enters with more continuity and a deeper set of weapons at each of the skill positions. I expect Moore to have a big season and end the year off being the undisputed #1 overall pick just like Fernando Mendoza.
Sayin's season last year was incredible, and he was extremely efficient. He had all the resources to be in that position with weapons, Jeremiah Smith, and Carnell Tate, but he still maximized his opportunity as a freshman starter. He ended the year with 3323 passing yards, 31 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. The connection he has with Jeremiah Smith is already a proven one, and he showed he can run the offense even better than Will Howard did the year prior. However, as expected from most freshmen, under the bright lights, he did fall short in the College Football Playoff vs the Miami Hurricanes and in the Big Ten championship vs the Indiana Hoosiers. Although his season was special, he still has more room to grow. If he takes that next step, the Ohio State Buckeyes will have another national **** le trophy in their case.
Jayden Maiava still does not get the credit he deserves for how good he truly was last season. In his first season as a starting quarterback, he led the Trojans' offense to being a top unit in the country. Lincoln Riley's offense was dangerous and high scoring because of how good and confident Maiava was last season. Maiava threw for 3431 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions. Maiava is a gun slinger, and he takes a lot of shots, but playing more under control would do wonders for his perception and draft stock. If he can have a similar season, with fewer interceptions and showcase his running ability more, there is reason to believe he can be one of the first quarterbacks taken in this next draft. The success of the Trojans this year falls on Maiava's back, but I am confident he will take a step forward and not back in year 2.

Caroline Dubois spends some time talking about her disappointment in not being able to secure a ****** le unification fight just yet as she aims to go undisputed, and keeping busy in the meanwhile rather than sitting around and waiting for the big fights to come her way. Dubois would also call out some rivals who she believes to be ducking the smoke.
"It's very disappointing. The goal was to fight either Elif Turhan or Stephanie Han. Unfortunately the Elif Turhan fight fell apart and unfortunately the Stephanie Han fight is something that has to wait, she just fought recently. So, she's resting or recovering and hopefully we can get that fight end of the year, that's the plan. I'm disappointed with Elif. We sent her an offer, she turned it down and, yeah, at the end of the day you can't force someone into the ring."
"There's a few reasons, I'm not going to go into them. At the end of the day, all I can say is the facts. I'm so happy with what we've achieved, I'm so happy for where I'm at, and I'm so excited for the future. And I know another fact is I want to be better…I want to dominate. You have to train to dominate. You have to train, you have to push yourself and I think the definition of insanity is to do the same thing and expect a different result. So if you want something you've never had, you have to do something you've never done.
"Working with Manny Robles now, I've been with him for three weeks now and it's been really good, really positive, great sparring, the work is good…I'm just happy to be in an exciting, booming gym."
"I think she's a coward. At the end of the day I think she knew I was going to be here, she knew that Mikaela Mayer was going to be here — she probably just thought 'nah, I don't want it'. She doesn't want it and I think it's a lame move. You come all the way out to the UK and you don't turn up? You don't want to be in the mix of some big fights? You got a table full of opponents that could possibly be in [with], you're not about it?! I think it's real disappointing and it shows her character."

The agreement includes a sell-on clause, giving Man City a future financial stake in the goalkeeper
The deal marks a permanent exit for Trafford just one year after City re-signed him from Burnley

It was a rare display of emotion for Miles Russell.
Junior golf's undisputed No. 1 for almost three years, Russell has collected trophy after trophy with a calm, quiet confidence. But on Friday afternoon at Saucon Valley Country Club, the 17-year-old Russell couldn't help but unleash a fist pump after a go-ahead, chip-in eagle on the 13th hole.
Russell carded two eagles and five birdies in a 2-and-1 victory over incoming Vanderbilt freshman Tyler Mawhinney to advance to Saturday's 36-hole final of the U.S. Junior Amateur.
Mawhinney is a highly decorated prospect in his own right at No. 102 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and with a USGA ***** le already to his name (2025 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball). He entered Friday's bout with Russell, the world's seventh-ranked amateur, having played the par-3 in 8 under for the week. He was 7 under in 17 holes against Russell and still lost.
The turning point came at the drivable, par-4 13th, where both players went for the green and found the gnarly greenside rough. Mawhinney hit his chip to 5 feet before Russell popped his ball out of the rough and just onto the putting surface, then watched as it motored right into the cup.

Pau Cubarsi’s remarkable rise has convinced Barcelona that they are witnessing the emergence of a truly generational defender, with the club believing the teenager has everything needed to become a future Ballon d’Or winner.
According to MARCA, there is growing confidence within Barcelona that Cubarsi could eventually become only the fourth defender in football history to lift the prestigious individual award.
It is a remarkable level of belief for a player who is still just 19 years old, but one that shows the impact he has made for both club and country.
After establishing himself as an undisputed starter under Hansi Flick, Cubarsi has taken a giant step forward by helping Spain win the FIFA World Cup, where he started all eight matches, played every minute of the tournament and was deservedly named the competition’s Best Young Player.
At Barcelona, those achievements have only strengthened the conviction that the defender’s ceiling remains extraordinarily high.

Tesla (TSLA) earns a BUY rating and $428 price target, offering 16% upside on rebounding automotive margins and a Q1 EPS beat of 18%.
GM trades near 25x earnings on real cash while Rivian posts negative EBITDA, making Tesla's 167x forward P/E a pure bet on auto-plus-AI.

Olympique Lyonnais are reportedly interested in Derby County's Jacob Widell Zetterström (28), according to information from Foot Mercato.
Having joined the Rams from Djurgårdens IF in the summer of 2024, the Stockholm-born player has established himself as the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper.
Making 42 appearances as first-choice goalkeeper (nine clean sheets, 51 goals conceded) during his first season in England, Widell Zetterström started a further 33 times (seven clean sheets, 47 goals conceded) throughout the 2025-26 campaign, in which he was forced to sit out for several weeks.
With a contract running with Derby County until 2027, the Swede – who started against France in the round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup (3-0) – is, however, reportedly being viewed by Lyon as an option should Dominik Greif (29) or Rémy Descamps (30) leave this summer. A possibility which, for the time being, is not on the agenda. But Widell Zetterström's profile is appealing.

It's a no-brainer that whenever Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry decides to hang it up for good, he'll be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame on the first ballot.
In case his career statistics and accolades didn't signal that, the Basketball Hall of Fame practically ensured it when they announced that the four-time NBA champion will have his own exhibit, marking the first time an active player was honored with a dedicated experience.
The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame will introduce its newest exhibit on Friday, July 24, which will be dedicated to the 12-time NBA All-Star, two-time MVP, Olympic gold medalist, four-time NBA champion and the undisputed greatest shooter of all time.
This development is a part of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame acclaimed gallery called "The Vault."
The exhibit is called "Stephen Curry: Beyond the Arc" and it showcases Curry's prowess on and off the court. In a creative partnership with Curry's Thirty Ink business team, the exhibit will showcase Curry's legacy as a basketball icon, entrepreneur, philanthropist and family man.

Real American Freestyle (RAF) recently created a “Crossover Championship” **** le for those athletes crossing over from other sports to compete on the RAF wrestling mats. The new belt will debut as part of the RAF 11 lineup this weekend (July 18) at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena in Milwaukee, where UFC lightweight Arman Tsarukyan tangles with former UFC welterweight Colby Covington.
They are competing to be the champion of combatants who “cross over” but in the case of Covington, he’s not crossing back, having recently been released from his UFC contract. At the very least, it will be an opportunity for “Chaos” to win his first **** le after going 0-3 in fights for the undisputed UFC strap. Similarly, this will be the first **** le shot for Tsarukyan after “Ahalkalakets” botched his UFC 311 headliner back in early 2025.
This weekend’s headliner will be contested at catchweight for the cruiserweight championship.
Here’s their first face off:
RAF 11 streams exclusively on FOX Nation.

Club football is demanding the spotlight on a day of busy offices, pre-seasons underway, and boardrooms burning up.
The ball starts rolling. Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid and FC Barcelona officially begin their pre-seasons today. With all eyes on the new 2026/27 campaign, the three La Liga giants are starting medical check-ups and the first training workloads ahead of a demanding season.
Joan Laporta has made a big splash in the market. When asked about Atlético de Madrid's interest in Julián Álvarez, the Barcelona president warned: "We're not going to dance to anyone else's tune, we set the rhythm." He also officially confirmed the signing of Karim Adeyemi and Raphinha's stay, while keeping some uncertainty over Ferran Torres.
Paolo Maldini is taking on a historic mission. One of the living legends of defensive football has been named the new technical director of the Italian Federation (FIGC). His main objective is to rebuild the foundations of the Azzurra and return the team to the absolute elite after the heavy blow of missing their third consecutive World Cup.
A spectacular twist in the Premier League. Switzerland international Johan Manzambi, the undisputed breakout star of the World Cup, is one step away from becoming a new player for Unai Emery's Aston Villa. The Birmingham club have managed to **** the signing from Newcastle when negotiations had seemed all but done.

LAS VEGAS – Paddy Pimblett is certain the UFC lightweight **** le is in his future.
Pimblett (24-4 MMA, 8-1 UFC) bounced back from his interim **** le loss to Justin Gaethje by making quick work of Benoit Saint Denis (18-3 MMA, 9-4 UFC) in the co-main event of UFC 329 at T-Mobile Arena. When asked what he'd like next, he didn't have a specific name in mind, but he made sure to voice his UFC championship ambitions.
"I want to be a world champion," Pimblett said at the UFC 329 post-fight press conference. "I want to be the undisputed champion of the world. I want to be the first-ever world champion from Liverpool, and I'm going to do that. I know that's in my destiny. I know it's in my fate. Whether it's the next fight or the next 10 fights, I'm going to be a world champion. It's that simple. If you want me to fight Justin (Gaethje) next, if you want me to fight posh boy (Arman Tsarukyan) next, if you want me to fight 'chorizo' (Ilia Topuria) next, if you want me to fight Charles (Oliveira) next, anyone can get it."
Pimblett entered UFC 329 as an underdog, and highly-doubted by many. For him, it's another day at the office, as he feels history repeats itself with him.
"Yeah, the goalposts will get moved," Pimblett said. "Everyone will say, 'Huh, BSD was sh*t anyway.' You know what I mean? When two days ago it was, 'BSD, he's going to smash Paddy. His grappling is way better. He's got too much power for him,' this and that. People just love moving the goalposts with me, and I don't give a f*ck. Move them all you want. As long as I keep winning, I keep getting paid and keep making steps toward being a world champion. You can say what you want. Anyone can say what they want about me. Simple."

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is live TONIGHT (Sat., July 11, 2026) with UFC 329, streaming exclusively live on Paramount+. The record-setting event takes place inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event is Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway 2 in the Welterweight division.
It’s a rematch 13 years in the making with Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway 2 tonight. The literally notorious McGregor has returned without much fanfare to take on one of the sport’s most popular fighters. McGregor last competed five years ago, losing to Dustin Poirier and shattering his shin (relive that here). Since then, he’s been embroiled in major controversies, including being found liable for rape in an Irish civil court.
McGregor has two fights left on his deal, reportedly. It seems like he might be trying to fight out his contract quickly so he can move on to new pastures.
The co-main tonight is Benoit Saint Denis vs. Paddy Pimblett in a high stakes Lightweight bout. Saint-Denis can clear a path to a ***** le shot with an impressive win here over the Englishman. Pimblett will try and show he deserves a second shot at current undisputed champion, Justin Gaethje. Rounding out the main card is Cory Sandhagen vs. Mario Bautista, Brandon Royval vs. Lone’er Kavanagh and King Green vs. Terrance McKinney.
