The Atlanta Falcons have a supremely talented top option at wide receiver in Drake London, who's considered one of the top-10 performers in the game at his position. Unfortunately, the Falcons also have exactly zero proven options beneath him on the depth chart.
For now, it looks like Jahan Dotson will serve as WR2, even though he's only scored one touchdown over the last two years. Olamide Zaccheaus projects as Atlanta's WR3, but he really should never be more than a No. 4 option.
Rookie Zachariah Branch definitely has potential. However, he'll have to earn his way up the ladder to see real targets - and that will likely take some time. Collectively, this group has been ranked the 20th-best wide receiver room in the NFL, according to CBS Sports.

The Falcons announced Tuesday morning that they had signed Za'Darius Smith to a one year contract, bringing the 34-year-old into the fold after the team lost Jalon Walker for the year to injury and learned they will be without James Pearce Jr. for the first eight games of the season. The three-time Pro Bowler has 70.5 career sacks to his name over an 11 year career that has seen him play for the Ravens, Packers, Vikings, Browns, Lions, and Eagles.
The reason this signing is a surprise is that until quite recently, Smith was retired. He un-retired and worked out for the Browns, where he was widely expected to sign, but then wound up joining Atlanta instead.
The appeal of Smith is very easy to understand for the Falcons, who need experienced, productive players in their edge group. Despite all their talent on both sides of the ball, the Atlanta Falcons have been getting consistently disrespected in power rankings and projections from the national media this offseason. Fully healthy and with a decent starting quarterback, Atlanta should be able to take the NFC South division this year.
However, it seems few around the league are buying what Kevin Stefanski and Co. are selling. In fact, some ***** ysts are predicting a last-place finish for the Falcons in the league's worst division.

The only question is if they'll just sign a body to fill the roster spot, or if they'll actually spend to bring in a pass rusher who could make a difference.

At a glance the best thing the Atlanta Falcons have going for them is having a lot of young talent on their roster, particularly on the offensive side of the football. It seems not everyone agrees with that **** ysis, though.
Even though they have some very promising young contributors on their roster, ESPN has only ranked the Falcons 22nd in their annual list of each team's under-25 talent. It is worth mentioning that a bunch of the team's best players are exactly 25 years old or are about to be.
"Atlanta's top offensive stars are 25 or close to it. Pitts turned 25 in October. London will be 25 on Friday. Robinson will turn 25 in late January, so he's the only one of the three players who still qualifies... The other offensive player worth mentioning is rookie wide receiver Zachariah Branch, who is 22. Then it's all about the defense. Rookie cornerback Avieon Terrell is just 21. The distance from the Canada border to the Mexico border of the United States along the Pacific Coast is around 1,650 miles. The route features an elevation gain and loss of nearly 80,000 feet.
Lifelong cyclist and Eugene middle school teacher Tanner Faris was unfazed.
He set his sights on smashing the fastest known time on the route — nine days and 14 hours by Tyler Pearce at the time of his decision — and to do it by himself with no material support. Starting December 2025, Faris kicked off a rigorous training regime that put in the miles needed to complete the trip in June after summer break started for Kelly Middle School.
While many Americans were resting and recharging over the Christmas holiday, Faris began the Rapha Festive 500, a challenge running from Dec. 24 to 31 to encourage cyclists to traverse 500 kilometers (310 miles).
This, he said, often feels like the toughest time to train: the days are short and the weather poor. Each workday he also biked to and from the middle school, racking up 10 miles per round trip.

The Lads will kick off their pre-season campaign ahead of the 2026-27 season on 18 July against National League champions York City at the LNER Stadium.
The two sides have faced each other a total of 14 times, with the first meeting resulting in a 0-0 draw in the FA Cup in January 1956. They first met in the league in 1974, in Division Two, with Sunderland recording a 2-1 victory at Roker Park.
We last faced the Minstermen in a League Cup fixture in 1998, with Sunderland again running out 2-1 winners.
York City won the National League **** le on the final day of the 2025-26 season via a 113th-minute equaliser against Rochdale. Both sides will be aiming to start pre-season strongly and get vital minutes into the legs after a long off-season, so it will be intriguing to see how York City line up from a Sunderland perspective.

The Atlanta Falcons have a few big question marks entering the 2026 NFL season, but their roster isn't short on talent. In terms of skill position players, it doesn't get much better than the trio of running back Bijan Robinson, wide receiver Drake London and tight end Kyle Pitts.
The three former top-10 picks have accomplished quite a bit in a short amount of time. Defensively, the Falcons have some heavy hitters as well. James Pearce Jr. and Xavier Watts were Defensive Rookie of the Year finalists last season, while defensive tackle Brandon Dorlus broke out with 8.5 sacks.
Savvy veterans like Divine Deablo, A.J. Terrell and Jessie Bates round out a rapidly improving defense. The biggest question mark is at quarterback, and unfortunately for Atlanta, that's a pretty important position in the NFL.
