New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone has spent a surprising amount of time talking about a lollipop in the past 24 hours.
That would be the lollipop of Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. who was seen on camera sucking on the sweet during Monday's 5-3 loss against the Detroit Tigers.
Does that constitute a scandal? Probably not. However, Boone certainly didn't seem happy about it while speaking on "Talkin' Yanks" the next day. The manager revealed he spoke to Chisholm about the lollipop after the game and said it won't happen again:
"Oh yeah, that ***** me off. I didn't know about it until after the game. So he and I talked about that. That won't be going on."
He was then told this wasn't the first time Chisholm had taken the field with a lollipop, as he previously took an at-bat with one against the Boston Red Sox. At that point, Boone held off on further comment:
