Well, this one was a dud. Coming off a series sweep of the Cleveland Guardians, the Tampa Bay Rays' offense remained quiet at the plate and dropped the opener to the Texas Rangers by a score of 4-1.
Griffin Jax got the start for the Rays and was serviceable, allowing just a pair of runs over 5.2 innings of work. He punched out ten, walked three, and allowed five hits. Only one of the two runs he allowed was earned. The effort should have been enough to earn his seventh win of the season. Instead, he left with his eighth loss of the year.
The real story of the night was the Rays offense, or lack thereof. Outside of Aranda and Caminero, who each tallied a pair of hits, the rest of the lineup mustered just one hit. Cal Quantrill held the Rays to just one run an two hits over 5.1 innings of work. He punched out seven and walked just one.
Trailing 2-0, the Rays did threaten in the bottom of the fourth and for a brief moment it looked as if they were poised to take the lead and potentially send Cal Quantrill to the showers early. After a leadoff strikeout by Yandy Diaz, who's struggles at the plate continued Tuesday night, Jonathan Aranda singled and later advance to third on a double by Caminero. Mullins then reached on catcher's interference to load the bases for Chandler Simpson. Then, shockingly, Simpson found a way to hit into a groundball double play as he slapped a groundball right back to Quantrill who quickly threw home to start a 1-2-3 double play to end the inning.

Brentford are closing in on the signing of RC Lens midfielder Mamadou Sangare after reaching an agreement in principle with the French club.
According to Foot Mercato, the Bees have agreed a package worth €48 million plus bonuses and a percentage of any future sale for the 24-year-old.
The transfer has not yet been completed, with the final details still to be resolved, but Brentford are now considered favourites to secure the Mali international's signature.

We join Domínguez leading off the seventh on Saturday night in Philadelphia. The Yankees are clinging to a 2-1 lead courtesy of an Austin Wells solo bomb and Bellinger RBI single. However, the Phillies have their flame throwing lefty Alvarado in the game and the dangerous top of their order due up in the bottom half of the frame, so the Yankees would love to tack on another insurance run.
There is no mystery to how Alvarado is going to attack you, the lefty throwing the fastball 97.3 percent of the time. The one wrinkle he introduces is the type of fastball he's going to throw, using the sinker about two-thirds of the time and the cutter about one-third of the time. The camera angle doesn't quite do this pitch justice, but this sinker starts about a half-foot in off the plate before its 16 inches of arm-side run carries it back into the zone. July 28 (Reuters) - Royal Caribbean raised its annual profit forecast on Tuesday after beating quarterly estimates, sending its shares up 5%, ‌even as it factored in a modest hit to bookings due ‌to the travel disruptions caused by the Middle East conflict.
Geopolitical uncertainty linked to the U.S.-Iran conflict has made some travelers wary of booking cruises, hurting demand for certain itineraries and adding to fuel-cost pressures for operators.
Royal Caribbean said bookings for some sailings, including Mediterranean itineraries, have been modestly hit, primarily in the third quarter.
"When ‌you include a cruise plus ⁠the airfare (to get to the ports), it's a little bit more costly (for American consumers)," CEO Jason Liberty said, adding travelers ⁠are either putting off their trips to next year or opting for the Caribbean instead of Europe.

We have just reached half-time in Real Madrid's second pre-season match against Leganés. The same combination would later open the scoring, this time with a combination along the floor allowing Fede to poke the ball home. Madrid would make it two straight after a drinks break, when a trademark Trent Alexander-Arnold pass found Gonzalo García who **** ed the ball over the keeper to score. Trent was deployed very high up the pitch, and was a standout alongside Arda.
Leganés did pull a goal back with an unstoppable effort that left Andriy Lunin and his defence mesmerised. Liverpool's pursuit of Bradley Barcola is moving with real purpose, with DaveOCKOP reporting that the club is ready to place a huge offer on the table for the Paris Saint-Germain winger. SpaceX (SPCX) is poised to sink further after the stock hit a new all-time low Monday, days after a successful test of its Starship rocket. The surprising drop indicates that investor caution toward the newly public company persists, despite hitting an important launch milestone.
SpaceX shares are down nearly 4% in pre-market trade, this after dropping to $109.53 on Monday, before closing down 1.4% at $113.50. Shares have shed nearly 30% from the stock's $150 market debut last month, and are down an astounding 50% from its all-time high of $225.64.
Concern seems to be growing ahead of **** eX's big second quarter earnings report set for August 4th, with a big share unlock happening on August 6th. Per **** eX's lock-up period plan, as many as 20% of shares are eligible to be sold.
The rising angst among **** eX investors comes after Starship launched Friday evening from Starbase, Texas, on its 13th test flight, the first since **** eX's June IPO. Starship deployed all 20 of its next-generation Starlink V3 satellites, relit an engine in **** e, and made what **** eX called its softest ocean splashdown yet.
"I'm a little over the moon right now," **** eX spokesperson Dan Huot said on the company's livestream. "Lucky number 13."
