King Charles and Queen Camilla have had a successful visit to Antigua and Barbuda, following on from His Majesty's solo visits to the Bahamas and Guyana. On Thursday they will be touching down on UK soil, just in time for Bonfire Night. However, it may not be a big celebration in the royal household, and that's because of this one reason…
The royal couple have two dogs, Bluebell, a rescue Jack Russell Terrier adopted by Camilla from the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in 2012 and Moley, a part Jack Russell Terrier adopted from the same place in 2025.
Camilla posed in the grounds of her Wiltshire home with Moley (@ Chris Jackson/Getty Images)
It is well known that dogs can struggle with the loud bangs that come with fireworks, and are often unsettled during this time of year. Plus, the Jack Russell breed in particular, being a non-hunting breed, is said to not cope well with the sounds. So, Charles and Camilla may be spending their post-travel evening comforting their pooches if they aren't happy.
Advice on the Battersea Dogs Home website includes playing classical music to soothe and calm your pet, giving them a long-lasting chew to keep them distracted and also drawing the curtains to block out the light from fireworks.

Fast-food burger franchisees are rejecting underperforming leases in bankruptcy cases as part of reorganizations, which they hope will shed unprofitable restaurants.
Among the burger chains that are restructuring debt and closing restaurants are Wendy's and Checkers and Rally's.
Checkers and Rally's fast-food burger chain franchisee Global Midsouth Holding Corp. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy to reorganize its business, facing a foreclosure notice on its Jackson, Tenn., restaurant property.
The Memphis-based debtor filed its petition in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Tennessee on Oct. 28, 2026, a day before a foreclosure auction was scheduled at the Madison County Courthouse in Jackson, Tenn.
The bankruptcy filing imposed an automatic stay on all legal actions against the debtor while the case proceeds.

Democrats have regained control of Congress, winning back the U.S. House and Senate as Republican midterm losses mount.
Coming into the night, Republicans held 53 of the Senate's 100 seats, compared with 45 held by Democrats. To wrest back control of the Senate, Democrats needed a net gain of at least four seats. As at 6 a.m. ET on Wednesday, the Democrats had won 54 Senate seats to the GOP's 44.
Democrats won a series of key Senate seats. In Michigan, Abdul El-Sayed defeated Mike Rogers in one of the most closely watched races. James Talarico beat Republican Ken Paxton in Texas, becoming the first Democrat to win a U.S. Senate seat in the Lone Star State since 1988.
Annie Andrews beat GOP Sen. Darline Graham in South Carolina to flip a Senate seat. In Maine, Democrat Troy Jackson defeated incumbent GOP Sen. Susan Collins, putting an end to her three-decade tenure. Sen. Jon Ossoff comfortably won reelection in Georgia. Other Senate seats to flip to the Democratic Party included Roy Cooper in North Carolina and Sherrod Brown in Ohio.
In the 435-seat House, the GOP held 218 seats, compared with 214 held by Democrats. To retake control of the House, Democrats needed a net gain of three seats — and the AP said early Wednesday that the party had exceeded that figure.

An already-depleted Carolina Panthers cornerback room got even thinner on Thursday night.
Rookie Will Lee III, who had been playing some admirable ball in the absences of starters Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson, went down with a hamstring injury in the second quarter of the 27-19 loss. The setback occurred on a 53-yard reception by Green Bay Packers wideout Christian Watson, as the 2026 fourth-round pick went down in his pursuit and would later be carted away to the locker room.
Head coach Dave Canales told reporters after the game that the extent of Lee's injury was "pretty good," and addressed the troubles his defense had in containing Green Bay's passing attack.
"Kinda battled out there and gave everything he [Lee] had on that one to affect the play," Canales stated. "But besides that, early on, they were having a lot of success in some third-and-longer types of situations. I'd love to see us get off the field in those moments—because we did a great job of first and second down, owning the run game and minimizing them. It really should've been an advantage for our defense in those modes."
Packers quarterback Jordan Love finished having completed 30 of his 41 throws for 288 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. He also led his offense to a 56.3-percent success rate (nine-of-16) on third downs.

DENTON, Texas (AP) — Tayven Jackson passed for 404 yards and four touchdowns, Jahiem White rushed for 193 yards and two scores and North Texas held off Florida Atlantic 48-41 on Thursday night.
Jackson completed 33 of 46 passes as North Texas (6-2, 4-0 American Conference) extended its win streak to five. White did his damage on 26 carries.
Caden Veltkamp finished with a season-high 452 yards and five touchdowns — matching his career high — on 37-for-56 passing for Florida Atlantic (5-3, 2-2). Easton Messer totaled a school-record 16 receptions for 189 yards and three scores.
Veltkamp's 18-yard touchdown pass to Branden Hoch helped the Owls lead 10-3 after one quarter.
Jackson connected with Baron Tipton for an 8-yard touchdown to tie it 10-all early in the second quarter, but Veltkamp and Messer teamed up for a 27-yard score and a 17-10 lead on the ensuing drive.

Thursday night's American Conference matchup between Florida Atlantic and North Texas featured a strong candidate for fumble of the year.
Following a 28-yard pass from Tayven Jackson to Dalton Carnes, the Mean Green had an opportunity to break a 24-24 tie before the half with a field goal or perhaps even a touchdown with 27 seconds remaining in the second quarter.
On the next play, Jackson flipped a short pass to Jahiem White out of the backfield. White made a dash toward the first-down marker, then attempted a hurdle toward the line to gain.
However, FAU defensive back Travis Jackson hit White as he was in the air, causing the ball to pop loose. White did not get out of bounds before losing the ball and the carom went back onto the field, recovered by defensive lineman Tycoolhill Luman.
FAU took over at its 34-yard line with 11 seconds left before halftime. That didn't give the Owls much time to do anything else but attempt three short passes before ending the half on a deep throw that fell incomplete.

This really shouldn't be that surprising. The Tigers have one of the better core groups in baseball now, and while their rotation has question marks due to injury and inexperience, it's certainly a pretty talented group with Framber Valdez as the veteran, and Jackson Jobe, Troy Melton, Keider Montero, River Ryan, and Reese Olson lined up behind the veteran lefty. Obviously they need to build a much better bullpen, but this shouldn't really be that hard. We'll see how hard the front office decides to make it.
The Tigers were 14th in run scoring, and 11th in team wRC+ in 2026, despite getting gutted for a good six weeks by a huge wave of injuries from mid-April through May. Max Clark has only just arrived, while Hao-Yu Lee and Eduardo Valencia broke out with the bats in the second half. They still have plenty of young hitting talent coming behind them as well. They were also 6th best in team ERA and 10th best in team fielding independent pitching (FIP). The defense got better as Clark and other young outfielders were added to the mix. It would really help that cause if John Peck can insert himself into the mix next year.
The Brewers are number one on the power rankings, as you'd expect. The Dodgers and Yankees check in second and third. The Rays, Red Sox, and Braves round out the 4-6 slots, with the Tigers in seventh.
Here is ESPN's argument for the Tigers in 2027.
1. Their plus-71 run differential was fourth in the AL, not that far behind the Rays (plus-86) or Red Sox (plus-78), and that's a positive indicator for the following season.

HOUSTON (AP) — The Houston Texans opened their 25th season with Super Bowl hopes.
After dropping to 2-5 on Sunday, it looks unlikely that they'll even reach the playoffs, much less contend for their first ******* le.
The Texans enter their bye week looking to regroup and try to salvage a season that is quickly falling apart.
They lost their first four games before two consecutive wins, including a big victory over AFC South leader Jacksonville. But Sunday's 27-21 overtime loss to the Giants was a tough blow for a team hoping to turn things around and enter its break on a roll.
"Of course, the morale is not great," coach DeMeco Ryans said. "You're 2-5 and no one wants to lose and we lost a tough one there in overtime. There aren't many smiles, many happy faces, but it's football. It's a competitive sport. You win some, you lose some."

Another busy NFL Sunday kicked off bright and early for Week 6, with the Jacksonville Jaguars playing in their second consecutive game in London. The Jags failed to come away with a win, falling to the division rival Houston Texans on a last-second field goal, but there was one major bright spot.
Former No. 2 overall pick Travis Hunter had a breakout performance on both sides of the ball, hauling in his first touchdown catch of the year before coming up with an interception late in the game. It was nearly enough to spark a Jacksonville comeback.
After the game, Hunter's wife, Leanna Lenee, was gloating about Hunter's performance and took some time to call out some of his past critics who were outspoken with their thoughts that Hunter couldn't be a two-way star as a pro.
Specifically, Lenee aimed at Shannon Sharpe, who immediately clapped back on Nightcap with Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson on Sunday night.

Travis Hunter made NFL history, but the Jaguars still left London with a loss originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Travis Hunter produced the kind of two-way performance Jacksonville hoped to see when it selected him second overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Jaguars still lost, but Hunter's day in London was historic.
Hunter caught a 7-yard touchdown pass from Trevor Lawrence early in the fourth quarter, then intercepted Houston quarterback C.J. Stroud in the end zone on the Texans' next drive. He became the first NFL player since Brian Dawkins in 2002 to record both a receiving touchdown and an interception in the same game.
The Jaguars ultimately fell 34-31 when Houston kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn made a 49-yard field goal as time expired. Hunter's rare contribution helped Jacksonville stay within reach, but the Texans got the final points.
Hunter finished with four catches for 59 yards and the touchdown. His interception was his second of the season and came with Houston threatening to extend its lead.

The Cincinnati Bengals hit the bye at 3-2, and if you squint, you can see how this team could've been 5-0 or 1-4. A three-point loss in Pittsburgh.
A five-point loss to Jacksonville after Ja'Marr Chase left with a concussion in the first 18 minutes. Then a 31-24 win in Miami to stop the bleeding.
So who's been the one player this team can't do without? Here are the nominees.
Joe Burrow, QB: 135-of-189 (71.4%), 1,361 yards, 11 touchdowns, three interceptions, and a 104.4 passer rating. That completion percentage leads the NFL. He's done it while losing Colbie Young on the first play in Pittsburgh, Chase early against Jacksonville, and Tee Higgins late in that same game. Four touchdowns in Miami went to Mike Gesicki, Samaje Perine, Tanner Hudson and Chase. That's an MVP spreading the wealth.
Tee Higgins, WR: 27 catches for a team-high 423 yards (15.7 per catch). When Chase was out or limited, Higgins was the guy keeping defenses honest down the field.

Travis Hunter made himself known on both ends of the field during the Jacksonville Jaguars' game against the Houston Texans.
Although the Jaguars suffered a 34-31 loss against the Texans, Hunter showed why he is capable of playing on offence and defence in the NFL, as he had a receiving touchdown in the fourth quarter and on the very next defensive possession, the 23-year-old intercepted a pass by C.J. Stroud.
Hunter finished the game with four receptions for 59 yards and 1 TD, while on the defensive end, he had three tackles and the crucial interception that gave the Jaguars hope to win the game.
They entered the fourth quarter down by 10, but with Hunter's two big plays, the Jags managed to tie the score. In the end, the Texans took the victory with the help of a 49-yard field-goal from Ka'imi Fairbairn on the final possession.
This was the Jaguars' second loss of the season, but fans were excited to see the two-way star Travis Hunter shine for the team.

Travis Hunter's wild Wembley day showcased the two-way star's immense talent, even in a losing effort.
Hunter caught a touchdown pass and picked off a C.J. Stroud pass in the other end zone in the fourth quarter of Jacksonville's 34-31 loss on Sunday.
There were hiccups, too, including a costly pass interference call in the red zone.
Still, the second-year player showcased why the Jaguars made the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 draft.
"He definitely helped put us in a position to win that game today," coach Liam Coen said.

Nate Tice & Hayden Winks dive into their instant takeaways from Week 6 of NFL action. The show kicks off with reactions from the Green Bay Packers getting a win against a Dallas Cowboys offense that could not get rolling on Sunday Night.
This week's Pick 6 begins with a Philadelphia Eagles team that seems to be in deep trouble, losing their fourth straight, this time against a surging Carolina Panthers offense. The guys jump to the preseason Super Bowl favorite Los Angeles Rams losing another division game to the Arizona Cardinals. Is it time to panic in Los Angeles? Next, Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers pull off a comeback victory against undrafted rookie QB Jalon Daniels and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Nate & Hayden then discuss their reactions to the Houston Texans beating the Jacksonville Jaguars across the pond in London. Then, they take a look at the New Orleans Saints scoring 34 unanswered points against the New York Giants. Is there a QB competition brewing between Jameis Winston and J.J. McCarthy, who saw his first action in a Giants uniform on Sunday? To close out Pick 6, the guys break down Caleb Williams' return for the Chicago Bears in their triumph over the Atlanta Falcons.
Lastly, Nate & Hayden hit on some Extra Credit, including reactions to the Tennessee ******* ans getting their first win of the season against the struggling Indianapolis Colts, an exciting shootout between the Buffalo Bills and Las Vegas Raiders, and the Cleveland Browns climbing the mountain to lead the AFC North with their win against the Baltimore Ravens.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Dameon Pierce carried 12 times for 35 yards and a touchdown in a Week 6 loss to the Carolina Panthers. He also caught four of his five targets for 15 yards.
SOURCE: USA TODAY
Why It Matters: The Eagles running back room has been decimated by injuries, so Pierce has gotten his chance the last two weeks. He had 11 carries for 14 yards last week against Jacksonville, so it would not be a stretch to say he didn't take advantage. That said, the offensive line is missing some key pieces and Jalen Hurts was put on IR over the weekend. Pierce should only be considered an emergency fantasy start until Saquon Barkley returns, which could be as soon as Week 7.

Baltimore's three-game winning streak ended with a 13-10 loss that tied Cleveland with the Ravens at 4-2, and now all eyes turn to Lamar Jackson returning after missing two games to lead the charge.
Browns 13, Ravens 10.
The Ravens scored on their first two possessions and never scored again. Derrick Henry's lost fumble produced Cleveland's tying touchdown, and Tyler Loop missed a 49-yard field goal.
Andre Szmyt's late field goal completed Cleveland's comeback after Baltimore failed to capitalize on an earlier missed Browns kick.
Keyon Martin recorded a sack and a pass breakup. Josh Cuevas caught four passes for 44 yards and his first NFL touchdown. Ja'Kobi Lane added four receptions for 40 yards in his return.

I'm living proof of the saying that "kids keep you young." My wife and I don't need social media. We've got multiple social barometers living in our house. But my usual reaction to every new trend or slang that enters their lexicon ("cooked" and "tuff" have been the new favorites) is skepticism. Before I try to figure out how much attention I need to put into what has them hyped, I try to figure out how serious they are about their enthusiasm.
Sunday's fantasy football action left me in a similar spot. We didn't get many massive box score performances from our stars. Instead, Week 6 was about our mid- and late-round picks or waiver-wire acquisitions. And with some giving us repeat results, the storylines coming out of Sunday should have us adjusting how we approach fantasy free agency on Tuesday.
Both Trevor Lawrence and C.J. Stroud were hooping all morning. They were the perfect pivot from whatever we had to watch on TNF. But as I was watching the Texans offense, a couple of things stood out.
what a throw from Stroud, too. pic.twitter.com/fz4EbOAKvT https://t.co/2MaTqWpPgd
First, Stroud's command of the offense was at an all-time high. Jacksonville came into the game with the 12th-highest pressure rate. Houston had a twofold response. It used an extra lineman on 35.6% of its plays (a season-high), and Stroud was getting rid of the football in 2.31 seconds (a season-low). The result was not only his lowest pressure rate (8.6%) but also his highest EPA per dropback (0.35). More importantly, the Jaguars' defensive measures, which included blitzing Stroud on 31.4% of his dropbacks, didn't stop him from throwing the ball.

As Christmas nears, the festive season has sparked a intriguing royal showdown. Meghan Markle's $148 advent calendar has been met with surprising competition from Buckingham Palace. The news comes days after Markle expanded her lifestyle brand, As Ever, with the limited-edition holiday countdown box inspired by her Montecito home.
Buckingham Palace has entered the Advent calendar market with a product priced far below Meghan Markle's $148 version.
As reported by the Daily Express, the calendar is available now from the Royal Collection Trust. It claims to "capture the magic of the festive season" across three royal residences, including Windsor Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Priced at only £12 ($15.87), the calendar offers 24 milk chocolates, the same count as Markle's luxury edition.
The artwork for the royal chocolate Advent calendar shows a richly adorned Christmas tree finished with a crown ornament, accompanied by a pair of Union Jacks. The illustration also features ceremonial guards who "stand watch at these iconic locations."
The Palace has also released an empty, fill-it-yourself version, which displays a winter illustration of its London residence on a white box. The design is fully customizable, allowing buyers to place their own treats behind each of the 24 doors.

Republican Sen. Susan Collins and Democratic challenger Troy Jackson debated for the first time Tuesday in Maine, trading attacks over President Donald Trump, the cost of living and abortion in one of the most closely watched Senate races in the country.
Maine is central to Democrats’ path to the Senate majority as they try to capitalize on Trump’s unpopularity. Jackson tried to do just that Tuesday by tying Collins to Trump, name-checking him at least 20 times in one hour of debating on WGME-TV.
“It matters who you stand with,” Jackson said in his opening statement. “I don’t owe Donald Trump and the billionaires anything. I don’t fight for billionaires like she does.”
Collins, meanwhile, emphasized multiple instances when she opposed the Trump administration.
She also sought to localize the race and pitch her seniority — and her perch as chair of the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee — as a boost to Maine. She touted $1.5 billion in federal funds that she has brought home to the state for 672 projects in the last five years, “from Madawaksa to Kittery, from Eastport to Rumford.”

Several Supreme Court Justices appeared skeptical Monday of a request from oil companies to preemptively block a climate change lawsuit that could hold them liable for climate damages.
Many of the justices raised questions about the court’s ability to even take up the case at this time.
“A number of the discussions that you’ve had with my colleagues make me think that we’re really early in this case – that this is sort of premature from the standpoint of this court exercising its jurisdiction,” liberal Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson told Suncor Energy lawyer Kannon Shanmugam.

Leanna Lenee has quietly become just as much of a gameday fixture as her husband, Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback and wide receiver Travis Hunter, and once again, she gave fans exactly what they show up for.
Ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars' matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, Leanna stepped out in a custom teal-and-blue halter top emblazoned with "HUNTER" and the number 12 across the chest, paired with sleek black high-waisted pants featuring a cutout detail along the thigh. Her son matched her look almost piece for piece, dressed in a mini Jaguars romper carrying his father's name and number on the back. Leanna captioned the post simply: "Next question."
That two-word caption did little to slow down the response. However, this isn't the first time Leanna's gameday look has taken over the timeline either. Just weeks earlier, ahead of Jacksonville's matchup against the New England Patriots, she turned heads in a dusty blue bodycon dress covered in Jaguars patches, a jersey-number detail, and white cowboy boots, once again dressing her son in a coordinating fit down to the shoes. Fans' response then was nearly identical, with one commenter telling her outright she had "the cutest NFL wifey clothes," a sentiment that's clearly carried straight through to this latest appearance.
