The tradition continues as the Cincinnati Bearcats host the Western Carolina Catamounts, an FCS team that last played here in 2005. Since 2000, UC is 20-0 vs. FCS competition. Dating back to 2006, when UC knocked off then-No. 7 Rutgers under the lights 30-11, the Bearcats are 39-16 in "Nipp at Night" games.

MADISON, Ill. - Organizers are expecting a fifth straight sell-out crowd at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Ill., ahead of Sunday's "Enjoy Illinois 300." The race is part of the NASCAR Cup Series.
The event forms part of the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs, bringing motorsport fans to the venue in the St. Louis area. In recent years, the Madison track has hosted several major NASCAR events featuring close photo-finishes.
Ahead of the race, professional driver Ross Chastain made a promotional appearance at Ballpark Village. Chastain, a champion racer participating in Sunday's event, served as a celebrity bartender pouring Busch Light for fans.
"They put a party on here as a racer. I just want people to come watch us. We don't get to do all this unless people are watching us in the grandstands and watching us at home on TV or listening on the radio," Chastain said. Florida basketball senior guard Denzel Aberdeen is taking his case to return to the basketball court to the judicial courts.
Aberdeen has filed a temporary injunction for a fifth season of eligibility to play for the Florida Gators, according to a report from the Field of 68.
"Denzel Aberdeen, a senior at Florida, should be allowed to compete as a student-athlete under the NCAA's 5-in-5 rule," Aberdeen's attorney, Jesse Panuccio, said in a statement provided to the Field of 68. "But the NCAA has announced an unwritten exception to its rule that strips Class of 2022 students from this policy, even though they competed for years against fifth-, sixth-, and sometimes seventh-year seniors who received Covid-era eligibility waivers. The NCAA's decision violates its contractual commitment to fairness to all student-athletes, and we have sued to vindicate Aberdeen's rights and get him back on the court as he finishes his degree at UF."
As a member of the Class of 2022, Aberdeen wasn't grandfathered into the NCAA's new 5-for-5 rule, which allows for college athletes to play for five seasons within five years of eligibility.
On July 31, a Colorado court ruling by U.S. District Court judge Charlotte Sweeney (Tyson, Wisne v NCAA) granted an extra year of eligibility to Aberdeen and every athlete in the 2022 class without requiring an NCAA waiver. But on August 22, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals granted a stay in the Wisne ruling, which now places the onus back on athletes to fight for their NCAA eligibility in state courts.

It appears Kyle Shanahan will pass Bill Walsh. And keep on going and going.
The San Francisco 49ers head coach signed a contract extension in the offseason, Netflix's Tom Pelissero reported, although his previous deal – that owner Jed York said on March 30 that he was through 2028 – wasn't close to expiring. The length of this new deal has not yet been disclosed.
"I think Kyle's got three years left (on his contract)," York said then. "I want Kyle to be here for a long time. He's been here for a long time. I want him to be here even longer."
Shanahan, 46, will match Walsh as the longest-tenured 49ers head coach if he finishes his 10th season with the team in 2026. Shanahan and the Rams' Sean McVay are the NFL's second-longest tenured head coaches. They trail only Kansas City's Andy Reid, who is in his 14th season with the Chiefs.

At the beginning of the week, Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell dropped an interesting update that the left guard position was still up for grabs in the lead up to the team's season opener against the New Orleans Saints. Incumbent Christian Mahogany and free agent addition Ben Bartch were to split reps in practice all week, and Campbell even said he'd consider rotating the two in the game if a leader hadn't emerged in the competition.
But on Friday, Campbell gave a little clarity on the situation, suggesting that Mahogany will start on Sunday.
"I don't know. It's a good question. I'm still thinking about that. There's probably a good chance Mahogany starts," Campbell said.
Now, of course, who starts the game and who finishes it could very different. Campbell's comments are vague enough to suggest that the guard rotation could continue and/or Mahogany could be on a short leash. He could even change his mind before Sunday. Rei Tsuruya hopes he's finally done enough to earn a crack at an opponent with a number next to their name.
At UFC Fight Night 286 in Shanghai, Tsuruya (12-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) showed why he was heavily favored as he quickly drowned and tapped opponent Kevin Borjas (11-6 MMA, 2-5 UFC), winning the bout in 4:14 by rear-naked choke.
"I am simply happy, with my performance and the outcome," Tsuruya recently told MMA Junkie through a translator. "Two straight finishes in the first round, it really gives me confidence moving forward in my career with the UFC. For now, I am happy, and back to work. ... I was confident that I could dominate on the ground. My body reacted on its own and was making that takedown."
Tsuruya, 24, is viewed by many experts as one of the flyweight division's most promising prospects, particularly given his age and ability to finish fights. His stock has risen even further, as the only man to defeat him, Joshua Van, now hold UFC flyweight gold.
"I believe I am capable of being at the top of the division," Tsuruya said. "It's also a lot about luck, timing and the matchups you get, but I'm doing everything I can to develop my skills and be ready for whatever is next."

With empty seats everywhere after he finished his U.S. Open first-round match in the early morning hours, he took two questions from reporters on the court and quickly wrapped it up.
"I think everybody's tired," he said. "Everybody wants to go to sleep."
The city that never sleeps is going a little overboard this year.
Players have long loved the electricity of night matches at the U.S. Open, where tennis under the lights at Arthur Ashe Stadium is a hallmark of the American Grand Slam tournament, with fans staying late and bringing plenty of energy. But with the tournament this year already setting a record with three post-2 a.m. finishes over the first six days, plus two more going past 1 a.m., concerns are bubbling up about how much after midnight is too much on such a big stage.

Last week, news was revealed that driver Riley Herbst has found a home for next season. After being unceremoniously cut loose in favor of Corey Heim at 23XI Racing earlier this season, it was announced that Herbst will join Legacy Motor Club in NASCAR's Cup series starting in 2027.
The news that Herbst would be joining Legacy wasn't exactly a huge, earth-shattering, stop-the-presses moment. In fact, it was actually a bit odd. That is, until you look a little deeper, pull back the curtain and see what's really going on.
That Riley Herbst moved up to a full-time NASCAR Cup Series ride with 23XI starting just last season is head-scratching. To be teamed up with Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace, both of whom are proven winners, even more so.
The fact is, the 27-year-old native of Las Vegas hasn't exactly set the NASCAR world alight since making his NASCAR debut in the Truck Series in 2018. Yes, he did score three wins in NASCAR's second-tier O'Reilly Auto Parts Series scattered among 179 starts, but his best finish in the season standings was an unremarkable seventh. A decent résumé to be sure, but not exactly the stuff NASCAR dreams are made of.
In his 61 starts in the Cup Series since joining 23XI in 2025, Herbst has not come close to anything resembling a Victory Lane. He has only three top-10 finishes among those starts, so it's little wonder he was cast off for Heim, a younger driver who had two wins in just 16 starts in a part-time role in the Cup Series just this year after storming his way to the Truck Series ****** le with 12 wins in 2025.

On a cold November morning, designer Isaac Mizrahi gets up, leaves his apartment, and trudges to the corner newsstand to pick up a copy of Women's Wear Daily. It's the day after Mizrahi's Spring/Summer 1994 show, and the ink on the reviews is still wet. Reading from the pages, he quotes, "'His usually great color sense failed him, his fabric sense failed him, and certainly, his sense of how a modern woman dresses after 8 p.m. failed him." The verdict is withering. Mizrahi, one of the great artists of '90s ready-to-wear fashion, has been tossed out. Disgraced. Lightly "cancelled," as some might call it these days.
Douglas Keeve's sublime 1995 documentary, "Unzipped," follows Mizrahi in the aftermath of a train wreck, piecing his reputation back together with his next collection, attempting to make something beautiful from the rubble. We find Mizrahi's world in grayscale, drained of color in the wake of critical and cultural failure. Then, the opening notes of Sandra Bernhard's 1994 cover of Sylvester's "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" cue the pigmentation, cascading over bright images of models in fittings, garments hanging from racks, and plenty of DayGlo faux furs. In her version, Bernhard alters the lyrics to pay tribute to Sylvester, whose untimely death left an immense legacy. "Sylvester, sister," Bernhard coos, "You were so beautiful, you were so fragile, you were so . . . real."
But just before Bernhard finishes the word, the song fades to silence, as if to say that realness — genuine authenticity in your life and work, at the cost of criticism — will always be snuffed out before it can be fully appreciated. That is the price of beauty. What is up must always come down.

After years in cinematic obscurity — the film hasn't been readily available outside of the eBay market in decades — "Unzipped" will return to theaters later this month, with a loving 4K restoration from Janus Films, just as another fashion-world controversy is heating up. Earlier this week, the Metropolitan Museum of Art declared it would no longer proceed with its Costume Institute's upcoming exhibition honoring John Galliano, scheduled to debut next year. When the scrapped "John Galliano: Horizons" was announced in July, the exhibition was immediately met with an outpouring of criticism. Detractors accused the museum of being tone deaf, citing a 2011 video of Galliano going on a drunken antisemitic and racist rant at a Paris bar, for which Galliano was promptly ousted from his spot as creative director at Dior. Following the video surfacing, Galliano apologized, went to rehab, and, over the last few years, experienced a brand resurgence that some would call a whitewashing.

That's up 1% compared to the 2025 season average when using Nielsen's Big Data + Panel methodology (2.6 million), and up 17% when compared to Nielsen's panel-only numbers (2.3 million). Big Data became Nielsen's standard measurement formula on Sept. 1, 2025, after last year's PGA Tour season concluded.
In 2024, the PGA Tour's season-long average for weekend coverage on linear networks was 1.9 million viewers using panel-only measurements, which was standard at the time; that figure is 2.3 million when retroactively applying Big Data.
