A California appeals court has ruled that Jay-Z cannot sue a personal injury attorney for extortion or defamation.
The musician's bid to sue was in response to a lawsuit that accused him of raping a 13-year-old girl.
In 2024, Tony Buzbee accused Jay-Z, known legally as Shawn Carter, of raping a child alongside Sean 'Diddy' Combs decades earlier, then dropped the case just months later.
Jay-Z denied the allegations and fought back, claiming the lawyer had fabricated the claims to extort him.
In a new ruling, California's Second Appellate District has decreed that the rap icon cannot sue Buzbee for extortion or defamation over the salacious accusations, even if they were quickly dismissed.

AEW All In 2026 delivered as one of the year's best professional wrestling events this past Sunday in London. On the grand stage of the world-famous Wembley Stadium, one of the annual spectacle's biggest moments was the debut of Kofi and Austin Creed — now known as The New Level after spending years in WWE as Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day.
The legendary duo wasn't advertised for the pay-per-view event, but instead made their arrival as a surprise entrant in the promotion's first-ever Trios Roulette Royal match for the AEW Trios Championships. Alongside Swerve Strickland, Kofi and Creed pulled off the win to become the new champions on only their first night on the job.
Kofi and Creed parted ways with WWE in a shocking development in May after a 12-year run teaming together, in addition to teaming with Big E. While Big E remained with the company as a retired wrestler-turned-analyst, Kofi and Creed were asked to take significant pay cuts when it came time to negotiate their contracts.
Speaking on Monday's edition of "The Ariel Helwani Show," they revealed that they only officially signed with AEW a day before All In. Regarding their WWE departure, the reported 50% pay-cut ask was incorrect: it was higher, according to Kofi.
"We just thought the terms that they wanted us to perform under were not fair based on what we brought to the table, based on what we're worth, based on the knowledge and prowess we have as performers and wrestlers," Kofi told Uncrowned. "What we can give back to the younger people and do in entertainment. Being able to go out there and garner a reaction as good guys or bad guys, no matter the situation. We took a lot of great pride in being Swiss Army knives. Whatever the situation was, we would make it great and make it entertaining. Compensation was definitely a big part, for sure, but more so, we wanted to work.

He has piled up top finishes, qualified near the front and now has another brutal near-miss to add to the résumé. At Milwaukee, Malukas led 93 laps and appeared to have his first career IndyCar victory in his hands before a late restart issue allowed Pato O'Ward to steal the win. He finished second — his fourth runner-up result of the season.
At this point, it feels like Malukas is simply snakebit.

Félix Bautista delivered a clean inning in his second rehab appearance (first at Triple-A). Bautista shook off the rust from his first outing and generated a ground out, strikeout, and fly out. His sinker topped out at 97 MPH.
Bautista entered after starter Trey Gibson threw four innings of two-run ball. Gibson allowed four hits, struck out four, and did not hand out a free pass.
Albert Suárez returned to Norfolk with a fresh minor league deal. Big Al tossed 2.1 innings of bulk relief. He allowed an unearned run and struck out three.
Norfolk trailed 3-2 before scoring in the seventh, eighth, and ninth innings. Enrique Bradfield Jr. tied the game with a single in the seventh, José Barrero gave the Tides the lead with a solo homer in the eighth, and Jeremiah Jackson drove in a crucial insurance run with a base hit in the ninth. Dean Thompson has a new home for the 2027 NASCAR season. Last weekend, Haas Factory Team announced that Thompson will join the organization full-time for the 2027 NASCAR O'Reilly Series season. The Sam Hunt Racing driver will be one of three full-time competitors, with the organization expanding to a third car.
It is currently unclear if Sheldon Creed or Sam Mayer will return to Haas Factory Team alongside Thompson. As of mid-August, Thompson sits 18th in the point standings with his teammate, Harrison Burton, in 20th place. Thompson has run well in the No. 26 car for Sam Hunt Racing.

It took Carson Kvapil 64 races to earn his first NASCAR O'Reilly Series victory, but he has now won back-to-back after triumphing at Iowa Speedway.
JR Motorsports teammate Ross Chastain led most of the final run, but a caution with five laps to go completely changed the complexion of the race.
Chastain spun the tires in the first overtime restart, allowing Kvapil to move ahead. Right behind them, Brent Crews slid up into Ryan Sieg and Justin Allgaier, wrecking all three cars and collecting several others. That led to a post-race confrontation between Allgaier and Crews.
In double overtime, Kvapil once again got a better restart than Chastain, and Rajah Caruth actually moved up into second. They led a JR Motorsports 1-2 with William Sawalich third, Chastain sliding back to fourth, and Sheldon Creed fifth.
Nicholas Sanchez, Taylor Gray, Dean Thompson, Harrison Burton, and Brennan Poole filled out the remainder of the top ten.

The NFL adding an 18th game to the schedule seems inevitable, but longtime NFL reporter Peter King isn't buying the league's argument for it whatsoever.
In an appearance on The MMQB NFL Podcast this week, King laid out why he believes the plan runs in direct contrast to the NFL's efforts to make the game safer and more sustainable for players' long-term health.
"The NFL is ******* -bent on playing an 18th game, and then they say, 'Well we're taking away one of the preseason games,'" King said. "That's the most disingenuous pile of ******* I've ever heard in my life. And everybody knows it. Everybody knows it. The fans, the commissioner, the owners, they all know it."
It turns out King has done the math. The longtime Sports Illustrated reporter explained that today's NFL starters are on the field for "hundreds" more snaps per season than they were during the career of Mike Webster, the first prominent case study for CTE in the sport. The level of stress put on players' bodies and brains is, as a result, significantly more intense.
"One of the reasons I hate the concept of the 18th game is that … you've gotta read what I (have written) about (Kansas City offensive lineman) Creed Humphrey versus Mike Webster," King said.

"No interior blocker has a more consistently elite grading profile over the past five seasons. In 2025, he once again led all centers in PFF Wins Above Replacement (0.544) and overall PFF grade (88.8), finishing as the only center to post grades above 80.0 in both run-blocking and pass protection."

Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch said in a recent interview that the U.S. was not founded on "one race or one religion," pushing back on arguments made by conservatives such as Vice President Vance.
"We were founded, a lot of our colonies, for our religious pluralism, right? And the opportunity to practice your own faith in your own way," Gorsuch told PBS host Margaret Hoover in an episode of "Firing Line" published Friday.
"And we were never supposed to be a nation that was about one race or one religion, it was about those ideas," he added, referring to America's founding principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. "And those things are perfect ideas that speak to every human heart and that unite us all."
Vance, who converted to Catholicism in 2019, touted his view in December that Christianity provided the prevailing ideals for the founding and continuation of the country.
"I'm not saying you have to be a Christian to be an American. I'm saying something simpler and truer: Christianity is America's creed, the shared moral language from the Revolution to the Civil War and beyond," the vice president said at Turning Point USA's annual "AmericaFest" event.

Los Angeles mayoral hopeful and former reality TV star Spencer Pratt released a lengthy, artificial-intelligence-assisted screed taking down the lawsuit filed by 12 state attorneys general against Paramount over its merger with Warner Bros. Discovery. In a TikTok video, he shouts that Hollywood is kaput if the suit succeeds.

Tis the season for NFL media to put out their own Top 100 players list. Pro Football Network put theirs out and it is based on their own specialized formula they call a PFN Impact Score. This sort of objective measure creates a very different type of ranking as opposed to say the NFL Network, which is more of a popularity contest.
For the Pittsburgh Steelers, they landed four players on their Top 100, and while two of them didn't come as a suprirse, the other two did.
First up and highest-rated on the list is cornerback Joey Porter Jr. at No. 33. He's the third-highest ranked cornerabck on the list, behind only Derek Stingley Jr. and Pat Surtain II. Porter is currently waiting on a massive contract extension with the Steelers and based on this metric, he should be paid like the top corners in the NFL.
Next up we get EDGE T.J. Watt at No. 42 and defensive tackle Cameron Heyward at No. 49. Watt and Heyward were the two guys who most often show up on these sorts of lists and despite both guys having down seasons in 2025, are in great positions to rebound in 2026 under new defensive coordinator Patrick Graham.
Finally we get center Zach Frazier at No. 75. The only center on this list ranked higher than Frazier is Creed Hunphrey and it really illustrates just how well Frazier played last season, even if others weren't paying attention.

Since moving to bare-knuckle in 2023, the former WBA boxing champion had put together a strong run in BKFC, stacking up five wins in a row, including winning the BKFC welterweight championship. But that run came to an end against Bonner, who brutally knocked him out in the second round.
Trout cut quite the scene walking to the BKFC ring, coming out in homage to Apollo Creed in Rocky IV, wearing the star-spangled outfit and trunks, with an accompanying musical act performing James Brown's version of Living in America.
