Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris has provided an update on several players ahead of the Black Cats' upcoming fixture against Ipswich Town.
On Nordi Mukiele, Le Bris played down the severity of the defender's issue but stressed the need to manage his recovery carefully.
"No, it's not too serious, it's a shame because I think his precision was really good, good standards, and he gave in goals on his right side, so just minor, but we need to take care of him," he said.
Omar Alderete is also expected to be available for selection soon, although Le Bris suggested he may have to settle for a place on the bench against Ipswich.
"With Omar, it was an injury during the last game, just before the last game, so it's just about stiffness," he said.

Celtic's hopes of signing Haissem Hassan have taken a hit after fresh claims suggested the Egyptian international now favours Marseille. According to Celtic FC News Room, the Ligue 1 side have reached an agreement on personal terms with the 24-year-old after holding discussions for several weeks. The transfer has yet to cross the line because Marseille must trim their squad before committing funds, although the French club now appear to hold the advantage.
That leaves Celtic watching events unfold rather than controlling them. Earlier talks had placed the Scottish champions in a strong position, yet Hassan's preference has shifted. Unless Marseille fail to create room in their squad or free up finances, Martin O'Neill's side could lose one of their leading attacking targets before the window closes.
Hassan enjoyed a respectable campaign with Real Oviedo in La Liga during 2025/26. He made 37 league appearances, including 20 starts, produced three ******* ists, completed 26 successful dribbles, posted an 82% passing accuracy and accumulated 1,965 minutes. Those figures explain why several clubs remain interested despite his limited attacking output.

Replacing Nicolas Kühn already looked like a demanding task. After Daizen Maeda left for Ipswich Town, the need becomes even greater. Celtic require a winger capable of stretching defences, creating isolation against full-backs and turning slow attacks into quick breaks.

Sport BILD understands that Exequiel Palacios wants to leave Bayer Leverkusen, with his heart set on a move to the Premier League.
The Argentine national team player has indicated through his advisor that he is considering a transfer.
Most recently, newly promoted topflight side Ipswich Town made an inquiry, but that's out of the question for the midfielder.
Palacios only sees himself at a top club in England, meanwhile another side in the Bundesliga is also keen on his services.
However, the possibility of the 27-year-old moving within Germany to RB Leipzig is considered unlikely in Leverkusen.

After six and half years at Bayer Leverkusen, Exequiel Palacios could be on the move this summer.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the Argentine midfielder is "ready for a new chapter" after several seasons at the BayArena.
RB Leipzig and newly-promoted Premier League side Ipswich Town are reportedly interested in Palacios, but there is currently no agreement in place and no deal is close.
The 27-year-old central midfielder has made 185 appearances for Leverkusen, scoring 15 goals and providing 17 ******* ists.
At international level, Palacios has represented Argentina 41 times. He was included in their World Cup squad, playing the full 90 minutes in the final group-stage match against Jordan while remaining an unused substitute in the other games.

Chelsea want between £35m and £40m for Liam Delap this summer as Premier League rivals chase the striker's signature.
Delap is free to leave Chelsea if a suitable offer arrives after a disappointing debut campaign at Stamford Bridge. The 23-year-old scored just twice in 41 appearances across all competitions, following his £30m arrival from Ipswich Town.
Despite that return, Chelsea are demanding a profit on Delap this summer. The Blues signed Delap with the help of a relegation release clause 12 months ago, and believes the forward is worth between £35m and £40m.
According to the iPaper, Everton, Nottingham Forest and Leeds United are leading the chase. Everton held talks with Delap last summer, prior to his decision to join Chelsea, and remain keen on a deal.
Manchester United were former suitors of Delap but are understood to have rejected the chance to revive that interest this summer. United are seeking a forward to compete with Benjamin Sesko.

RC Lens goalkeeper Hervé Koffi (29) is reportedly set to join Union Saint-Gilloise, according to La DH. The move is expected to take the form of a loan with an option to buy.
Having already been on loan last season, the Burkinabé goalkeeper enjoyed a top-class campaign with SCO Angers, where he established himself as one of Ligue 1's very best goalkeepers. Back at Lens this summer, however, the Dobo-Dioulasso native is not expected to stay there for long, as he appears to be blocked by competition from Robin Risser (21).
In Belgium, Koffi will thus return to a league he knows well, having previously played for Royal Excel Mouscron in 2020-21, then for Royal Charleroi SC from 2021 to 2024. With the Unionists, the 29-year-old goalkeeper will also have the opportunity to experience the Champions League, as he faces the daunting task of replacing Kjell Scherpen (26), who moved this summer to Ipswich Town, newly promoted to the Premier League.

Gary O'Neil's Ipswich Town lost their second pre-season friendly 2-1 against La Liga side Osasuna.
The Spanish side took the lead in the opening five minutes, through a rebounded effort from Miguel Auria.
Chuba Akpom, who joined Ipswich on a permanent deal from Ajax in May 2026, scored a second-half equaliser eight minutes after being substituted on.
However, a fantastic strike from Osasuna's Raul Moro ricocheted off the underside of the crossbar to gift the La Liga outfit a pre-season victory at the JobServe Community Stadium.
O'Neil has now failed to win both his opening two warm-up games after the Tractor Boys were held to a goalless draw against Cartagena, who play in the second-tier in Spain.

Marques Colston spent a decade building one of the most accomplished careers in New Orleans Saints history. Today, he's applying those same principles of discipline, patience, and long-term thinking to investing.
The former NFL star joins Portfolio Players to discuss the launch of Champions Fund, a fund designed to give athletes and everyday investors access to sports-related opportunities. Colston explains why too many athletes are treated as brand ambassadors rather than true investors, how he navigated the business world after football, and why creating access has become central to his mission.
Colston also shares lessons from owning arena football teams, investing in companies like Fathead and SI Tickets, and taking a stake in English soccer club Ipswich Town. He discusses the growing appeal of sports as an **** et class, the rise of women's sports, and why opportunities outside the major leagues may offer the greatest upside for investors.
Portfolio Players, presented by E*TRADE from Morgan Stanley, explores how institutional capital, cultural momentum, and strategic ownership are redefining the business of sports.

Everton are seriously exploring a move for Liam Delap as they ****** s attacking reinforcements ahead of the new Premier League season, with Sports Boom reporting that the Toffees are considering whether they can offer the Chelsea forward a route back to regular football.
The 23-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge in June 2025 on a six-year contract for around £30 million after an impressive spell at Ipswich Town. A year on, his situation appears far less secure. Delap endured a difficult first campaign in West London, scoring only once in 28 Premier League appearances, and Chelsea's continued recruitment in forward areas has further clouded his outlook.
For Everton, the interest makes clear sense. David Moyes wants to add more threat through the middle, and the club have identified the centre-forward role as a priority. In that context, Delap's name has emerged prominently, particularly because his profile remains attractive despite a season that did not develop as Chelsea had hoped.
Photo IMAGO
The key line from the original report is that "Everton are weighing up a move to rescue Liam Delap from his Chelsea nightmare after the striker's difficult first season at Stamford Bridge". That language reflects both the player's frustration and Everton's belief that an opportunity may be opening up in the market.

Everton are interested in signing Chelsea striker Liam Delap this summer, according to talkSPORT. Everton manager David Moyes wanted to bring the Toffees target to the Hill ****** inson Stadium last summer, holding face-to-face talks with him. However, the 23-year-old opted to join Chelsea after leaving Ipswich Town. Delap scored just one goal in 28 Premier League games last term, and another goal in 13 other appearances. Chelsea are ready to cut their losses and are closing in on a move for Brighton & Hove Albion striker Danny Welbeck.
Delap is set to be available for a transfer, and Everton are monitoring his situation. Moyes will be confident of getting the best out of the Chelsea flop given his track record with youngsters. The Englishman bagged 12 goals in 37 Premier League games for Ipswich in 2024-25 and could prove to be a quality finisher elsewhere. Everton want attacking reinforcements and they could look to go for Delap in the coming weeks. Both Thierno Barry and Beto have been linked with summer exits.
Jack Grealish has returned to Manchester City after his loan spell, and while the Toffees are open to another loan deal, City prefer a permanent sale. Senegalese attacker Iliman Ndiaye has suitors in the Saudi Pro League, and Everton will need more options in attack even if they hold on to him.

On the back of promising performances in pre-season friendlies against York City and Liverpool, Régis Le Bris is going to have a midfield selection dilemma ahead of the new season.
Granit Xhaka, Habib Diarra and Noah Sadiki all showed their class at the World Cup, with Sadiki and Diarra standing out — Diarra bagging a couple of goals for Senegal and Sadiki shining in DR Congo's defeat to England in the round of sixteen.
Whilst these lads are currently on holiday and enjoying a well-deserved break after successful World Cup campaigns, there's an opportunity afoot for other lads to work their way into Le Bris' thinking going into the opening game against Ipswich Town.
Chris Rigg and Enzo Le Fée have been deployed in central positions during our two pre-season fixtures and have been standout performers. Rigg has clearly been on a fitness programme over the summer and has come back a couple of pounds stronger, whereas Le Fée has picked up where he left off at the back end of last season, scoring a fantastic solo strike against Liverpool on Saturday night.
The few games that we played last season without Xhaka in the starting eleven showed just how much we struggle without him, and although he's a certainty to be the first name on the team sheet most weeks, he's coming into the twilight of his career and will not be able to play up to potentially fifty games if we have a successful season.

That game will be packed but today's friendly against a lightweight AC Milan side that will be missing multiple top performers, will not be well attended due to the Celtic support once again being frustrated and angry with the club for creating another summer of discontent through their inactivity in transfer market, so far only getting one deal over the line with the £5m signing of Camilo Duran from Qarabag.
That transfer fee has been more than covered by the sale of Luis Palma to Lech Poznan for £3.5m and Maik Nawrocki to RC Lens for £2m. And with Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson in discussions to sign four new players, it looks like the delay could be caused by an instruction to wait for sales of key players like Daizen Maeda and Arne Engels before proceeding with the purchases Martin O'Neill needs this week.
Maeda should compete his move to Ipswich Town today and that could result in Kasper Hogh from Bodo Glimt coming to Celtic early next week, fingers crossed anyway.
Meanwhile Celtic are haggling over a few hundred grand which is frustrating the move for German midfielder Mika Baur with SC Paderborn resisting the latest Celtic lowballing attempt for their player who has already agreed personal terms with the Scottish Champions and wants the move to happen.

We asked you to pick one player you would like to move on this summer and one realistic target you want Ipswich to bring in before the transfer window shuts.
Here are some of your suggestions:
Shaun: I would love to sign Zian Flemming from Burnley and I would offload George Hirst if possible.
Reuben: I would say (and some people might disagree with me) that Jack Clarke should leave the club, as long as Jaden Philogene stays. I think we should cash in on a player who's had a good season but is really not good enough for the top division. He was practically non-existent in our last season in the Premier League and I still think he won't be good in the top flight. He has shown some great performances, but he has been sloppy in many areas of his game.
James: Daizen Maeda from Celtic would be great. He is an all-action forward, with goals and ***** ists to his game. I would say a reluctant goodbye to Philogene. If he has designs on leaving. It isn't good to hold on to a player with those intentions.

A woman who mistreated cats, guinea pigs and chinchillas that were found living in squalor has been banned from owning all animals, except dogs, for 10 years.
Michelle Ashford, 52, was visited by RSPCA investigators at her Thurlow Court home, in Stowmarket, Suffolk, in October after neighbours raised concerns.
They found injured cats with flies around their enclosure, caged chinchillas inside a cupboard and guinea pigs in crates.
Ashford, now of the Dengie peninsula in Essex, admitted three offences of failing to meet her animals' welfare needs. She was also sentenced to 18 weeks in jail, suspended for a year, was fined £769, and must complete 15 days of rehabilitation activity.
Appearing at Ipswich Magistrates' Court earlier this month, Ashford, who lives in The Marshes in Southminster and still owns three dogs, was also ordered to pay £300 in costs and a £154 victim surcharge.
