A Miami-area man filed a lawsuit accusing a Canadian heiress and her husband, a former reality TV personality, of borrowing $2 million and failing to repay it.
Named in the suit are Brendan Fitzpatrick, 38, who appeared on Rich Kids of Beverly Hills, and Chloe de Serigny, 31, the granddaughter of late financier Paul Desmarais, according to the Daily Mail.
In the federal complaint, Max Jan Fowles-Pazdro, 46, says Fitzpatrick convinced him in January 2025 to put up a $2 million bridge loan for a real estate project in the United Kingdom.
"Following repeated and increasingly desperate pleas from [Fitzpatrick] — [Fowles-Pazdro's] then-close friend — [Fowles-Pazdro] dug into his and his wife's life savings and funded a $2 million bridge loan that Brendan promised to begin repaying within six weeks," the filing stated, per the Daily Mail. "Two years have since elapsed — and not a penny of the loan has been repaid. With their nest egg gone, [Fowles-Pazdro] and his wife now teeter on financial ruin."
The suit also says the couple has continued to present an image of affluence, pointing to social media photos of them on a yacht in the Mediterranean.

Seaside, Knappa and Jewell flashed moments of good play during their first official weeks on the court. The Seagulls, under new coach Nicole Aydt, look to be coming into their own. After rebuilding the program behind freshmen, the Seagulls won just one game over the last two seasons.
Now, with many of the players entering their third year in the program, the Lady Gulls' improvement looks to be real. The Seagulls had a solid showing at last Saturday's seven team tournament at Warrenton. Seaside and Warrenton played two great matches against each other including a three-set thriller in the semi-finals. After struggling last season to maintain points, the Seagulls defense, passing and serving was very solid. Junior libero Chloe Baker served great against Warrenton and her defense helped the Seagulls all day Saturday. Senior captain Autumn Fenton and juniors Araya Edwards, Sophia Saso and Tiera Spivey make up a solid group of building blocks for Seaside.

(NYSE:COTY) traded about 7% lower shortly after its earnings release, with the after-hours decline later approaching 8.5%, as a fourth-quarter revenue beat was accompanied by a wider-than-expected adjusted loss and weaker near-term profit guidance. Revenue increased 1.3% to $1.27 billion, outperforming the consensus forecast for a 4.6% decline. However, the company-defined adjusted loss was $0.02 per share versus the $0.01 consensus loss, like-for-like sales fell 1%, and the reported net loss widened to $141 million.
The larger red flag is visibility. Coty Inc. (NYSE:COTY) expects first-quarter company-defined adjusted earnings of $0.11 to $0.13 per share, below the $0.14 consensus estimate, while like-for-like revenue is projected to decline by a low- to mid-single-digit percentage. Management also withheld fiscal 2027 guidance and described the period as a transition year, even though fiscal 2025 carried the same label.
The revenue beat showed that Coty Inc. (NYSE:COTY) still owns brands with meaningful consumer demand. Fourth-quarter like-for-like sales declined only 1%, improving substantially from the 7% decline in the third quarter. Fragrance demand remains comparatively resilient, supporting a portfolio centered on brands such as Burberry, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs and Chloé.
Portfolio simplification could also strengthen Coty Inc. (NYSE:COTY)'s balance sheet. Coty received $250 million at the signing of the Gucci Beauty agreement and is due another $150 million by September 30, 2027, subject to a possible holdback of up to $30 million. The immediate proceeds can support debt reduction and investment in core brands. Potential sales of CoverGirl, Rimmel, or other Consumer Beauty **** ets could further reduce complexity and concentrate capital on higher-return prestige fragrances.
The first-quarter outlook leaves Coty Inc. (NYSE:COTY) without a demonstrated earnings inflection point. Management is forecasting another like-for-like sales decline, adjusted earnings below consensus, and no full-year framework. Investors therefore lack a clear bridge between the restructuring program and sustainable earnings or free-cash-flow growth.

Six-a-side football tournament Baller League will no longer show matches on Sky Sports.
The UK edition of the competition, launched in March 2025, features star managers, including England footballer Chloe Kelly and YouTubers KSI and Angry Ginge.
The league will continue to broadcast matches on Twitch, YouTube and TikTok, but BBC Newsbeat has confirmed its contract with the broadcaster has not been renewed, as first reported by the Guardian.

According to Jasteena Gill, svp of marketing at CeraVe US, consumer insight drove the concept. The campaign targets Gen Z's embrace of tanning and "tanmaxxing." Google Trends shows "tanning" searches at a five-year high, with "tanning oil" searches up 40%.

The Lake Mary All-Stars got their LLSWS started with blowout wins of 14-0 and 15-0 in seven combined innings against Washington and Italy. But they were flummoxed by North Carolina in a 5-2 loss. The pitching tandem of Chloe Cheek, Brynn Fieser and Riley Tolan has been scored upon in just one inning, the five-run fifth that put Clayton on to the semifinals.
Florida won a rematch with Washington by a more modest score of 5-0, a game delayed more than an hour by lightning in the area. Fieser opened the scoring with a third-inning double, and Kaylee Whitlock pulled off a safety squeeze and scored in a four-run fourth to put it away.

Now Florida must win a grudge match against a North Carolina team that's been just as dominant during the weeklong tournament. If they win, Lake Mary will play Sunday, Aug. 9, for the city's second Little League World Series ******* le in three years (the baseball team won it all in 2024).
