The summer of 2026 saw a wave of movement across the NBA. As multiple stars changed teams, some teams changed owners in what has been a transformative period. For Lakers guard Bronny James, however, it's just another typical summer.
With the young guard currently with his team at Luka Doncic's basketball minicamp, he seems completely unfazed by recent events, particularly the departure of his dad, LeBron. When asked about it by a fan, James Jr. shrugged it off, reminding him that he has access to the King anytime he wants.
Bronny, 21, was drafted 55th overall in 2024. Coming from USC, Bronny had some college experience, but it was heavily limited due to a cardiac arrest he suffered before his Freshman year. Nevertheless, Bronny worked hard to return to action and regain his strength, earning a spot on the Lakers alongside his dad, LeBron.
Together, the pair made history as the first father-son duo in NBA history. It was a dream come true for both father and son, who shared plenty of special moments on the court. For Bronny, in particular, the experience helped build his confidence, develop his game, and ensure a comfortable transition to professional basketball.
So when LeBron suddenly left the Lakers this summer, it raised many questions about Bronny's future. Initially, some thought he might be cut, while others speculated that he would follow LeBron to his next NBA team. As it would turn out, though, neither is the case. Even with LeBron set to suit up in Philadelphia next season, Bronny remains committed to the Lakers, as he's proving with his attendance at Luka's minicamp.

Ruby Rose recently shared screenshots on social media that appear to be of texts from Hayden Panettiere. One of the apparent texts seems to refer to alleged mistreatment of Panettiere by her mother, Lesley Vogel. Panettiere died on August 16 at age 36 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Ruby Rose recently shared a couple of screenshots on Threads from a conversation seemingly with Panettiere in which she spoke about her mother's ill treatment towards her. The text was about Rose talking to another unidentified individual, where she spoke about their respective parents. Rose wrote, "they did not act or behave like mothers." The reply reads, "I was sobbing over her cruelty yesterday thinking, my god I'm 36 and she can still cause this kind of pain. I'm her only child left and this is how she wants to handle the situation?!"
Another text from a person saved as "Hayden" on Rose's phone also showed them mentioning a potential podcast idea (via Entertainment Weekly). The message reads, "I'd love to do a podcast/anothony [sic] Bourdain show where we talk about issues and then go to the ends of the earth to find solutions."
The screenshots come amid Vogel facing backlash over her initial comments following her daughter's death. However, she recently released another statement, clarifying her complex bond with her daughter and speaking about her passing. In a statement, Vogel said, "Although my daughter and I were estranged, it was not for lack of care or love. It was due to the involvement of a toxic individual who I believe led to her death." She described her as a "beautiful and talented young woman" who became involved with the wrong person, whom she claimed the family tried to remove from her life. However, she claims they were unsuccessful (via Entertainment Tonight).
"I hope all remember Hayden for the beautiful human being inside her and her gift to the world from her time on this earth. My heart is with you, Hayden. Mama," she concluded.

McKenna West, an Alaska mother and cardiac nurse who carried the child, said Thursday she is continuing to fight for the baby after she was separated from him moments after giving birth Aug. 12.
"I haven't been allowed to hold this precious baby boy I carried and protected throughout my pregnancy," West wrote in a New York Post op-ed Thursday.

Neutrogena shared a statement on Thursday addressing Hayden Panettiere's death, following days of backlash. In the wake of her death, many fans resurfaced comments Panettiere had made claiming the skincare company fired her in 2015 for speaking out about postpartum depression.

Megyn Kelly is weighing in following the death of Hayden Panettiere.
Kelly took to her eponymous podcast on Monday, August 17, following the news of Hayden's death at 36, to speculate on the circumstances surrounding her passing.
"I am not surprised to read the news about Hayden Panettiere at all. I am sad. I lament the loss of this young woman, but I don't think it is a pattern we are ever going to correct for because there will always be parents who shove their child into the entertainment industry at too young and too precarious an age and don't have the skills or the desire to rescue them from the fallout that inevitably comes," Kelly, 55, said.
As In Touch previously reported, Hayden was ******* ounced dead after Greenville, South Carolina, officials responded to a 911 call on Sunday, August 16. According to audio obtained by People from the dispatch call on Sunday, responders were called to the apartment after a report of an apparent overdose and cardiac arrest. The Greenville Police Department is investigating the cause of death of the Remember the ******* ans star.
Kelly continued to point the finger at Hayden's parents, Lesley Vogel and Alan "Skip" Lee Panettiere, calling them "enablers" in the years following her rise to fame, with the actress — who shared daughter Kaya, 11, with her ex-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko — admitting to suffering from both postpartum depression and substance abuse over the last decade. Hayden also struggled following the death of her younger brother, Jansen Panettiere, who died in February 2023 at the age of 28 due to an undiagnosed heart condition.

Bills co-owner Kim Pegula played an important role in the development of the team's new stadium. Among other things, she was instrumental in pushing for a switch from artificial turf to grass.
When the new stadium unofficially opened on Saturday night, Kim Pegula was present.
It was a rare public appearance for Kim Pegula following a 2022 cardiac arrest and ensuing brain injury due to lack of oxygen. Via Ryan Miller of the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle, she had not been seen at any team events in more than two years.
Kim Pegula had attended a training-camp practice in 2023 and another one in 2024.
At the recent ribbon cutting for the stadium, co-owner Terry Pegula said this about his wife: "Kim, I wish you could have finished this project with the same passion and hard work that you started with."

Good news: Joan Laporta's is back in action after a few days' rest following a medical procedure.
The FC Barcelona club president had to undergo surgery to fix a cardiac arrhythmia — that is, an irregular heartbeat — on Tuesday. Doctors used a defibrillation procedure, essentially using controlled electrical impulses to shock his heart back into a normal rhythm.
Afterwards, he had to take a few days off to recover. On Friday, he's been officially cleared to return to work.
Laporta celebrated on Instagram: "I've been discharged! Heading home!"
The president thanked the Hospital de Barcelona, including the Emergency, ICU, Laboratory, Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Radiology, and Endoscopy departments and several specific doctors by name.

Nottingham Forest have moved quickly in the market after the collapse of Inter Milan's deal for Anan Khalaili, with TeamTalk reporting that talks are already under way for the Union Saint-Gilloise wide player.
There is a clear opportunity here for Forest. Inter had appeared to be closing in on the 21-year-old after agreeing a package worth €30 million, £25.7m, made up of an initial €25 million, £21.5m, plus €5 million in add-ons. Khalaili had even completed the club's internal medical process. But the move was stopped at the mandatory cardiac screening stage in Italy, where the required certification was not granted.
That development has changed the landscape and Forest have reacted. TeamTalk state that an opening bid of €20 million, £17m, has already been rejected by Union SG, who remain hopeful of receiving a figure much nearer to the guaranteed sum Inter had lined up. Negotiations, though, are ongoing, and that is the significant point.
Khalaili is understood to appeal strongly because of his flexibility. He is comfortable at left-back, wing-back and in more advanced wide areas, which naturally increases his value to a head coach looking for options across several roles.
Forest are said to view him as someone who can strengthen multiple parts of Oliver Glasner's squad. In a market where adaptability often dictates recruitment decisions, that sort of profile is attractive. It also explains why several Premier League clubs had tracked him previously, including Aston Villa, Brighton, Everton and Leeds United.

Last season, the Chicago Bears won many of their games in dramatic fashion. Quarterback Caleb Williams led the NFL in comeback wins last season with seven, including a thriller over the Green Bay Packers, which marked the Bears' their first playoff win since 2010.
However, the Bears roster will look a bit different this season with Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III now serving as Chicago's top two wide receivers. Defensively, the Bears also have two new starting safeties with veteran Coby Bryant coming from the Seattle Seahawks and Chicago's first-round draft pick Dillon Thieneman.
Talking with Kay Adams of "Up & Adams" on Monday, Williams expressed his excitement for the upcoming season and how this team is different from the "Cardiac Bears" from last season.
"It's gonna be really exciting," Williams said. "It's gonna be really fun to watch. It's going to be more entertaining than last year, hopefully not as much of a heart race. It's going to be a little more entertaining, entertaining throughout the whole game and what we're going to bring to the table as a team. You can feel it. You can see it. The confidence, it's not thinking, it's what goes on outside."
Chicago has numerous playmakers on both sides of the ball that will help make this season more entertaining than last year. Tight end Colston Loveland and Burden now have a year under their belt and the Bears added to their receiving core by drafting tight end Sam Roush.

July 29 (Reuters) - Medical device maker Boston Scientific on Wednesday lowered its annual profit forecast, citing pressure on its Watchman heart device business.
The company, in May, warned of pressure on its Watchman heart device, a small implant used to help prevent stroke-causing blood clots in patients with atrial fibrillation, due to softer-than-expected uptake.
Boston Scientific said growth was being weighed down by a decline in standalone Watchman procedures as physicians increasingly combine the implant with other cardiac treatments during a single visit.
As a result, the company said it expects flat Watchman revenue growth in the second and likely third quarter, despite continued uptake in combined procedures.
On Monday, Boston Scientific's board approved a new company-wide restructuring plan aimed at cutting costs and better positioning the company for future growth.

Fred Alger Management, an investment management company, released its "Alger Weatherbie Specialized Growth Fund" second-quarter 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. U.S. equities experienced a strong recovery in Q2 2026, with the S&P 500 Index gaining 15.2%, marking its best quarter since 2020. A ceasefire between the United States and Iran and accelerated investment in artificial intelligence (AI) regained market optimism in the quarter, leading the Information Technology and Industrials sectors upward, and Energy and Utilities lagged because of falling oil and gas prices. In June, the Federal Reserve maintained steady interest rates, but the meeting had a hawkish tone. As AI transitions into its agentic phase, opportunities are identified within sectors adopting the technology. The Weatherbie Specialized Growth Fund's Class A shares outperformed the Russell 2500 Growth Index in the quarter. The Industrials and Information Technology sectors contributed to the relative performance, whereas Financials and Consumer Discretionary sectors detracted. In addition, please check the Fund's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Alger Weatherbie Specialized Growth Fund highlighted Artivion, Inc. (NYSE:AORT). Artivion, Inc. (NYSE:AORT) is a global manufacturer and distributor of medical devices and implantable human tissues. On July 20, 2026, Artivion, Inc. (NYSE:AORT) closed at $25.37 per share. One-month return of Artivion, Inc. (NYSE:AORT) was 22.68%, and its shares lost 16.55% over the past 52 weeks. Artivion, Inc. (NYSE:AORT) has a market capitalization of $1.23 billion.
Alger Weatherbie Specialized Growth Fund stated the following regarding Artivion, Inc. (NYSE:AORT) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"Artivion, Inc. (NYSE:AORT) manufactures, processes, and distributes medical devices and implantable human tissues used in cardiac and vascular surgical procedures, with a focus on treating patients with aortic disease. The company's portfolio includes established products as well as newer technologies designed to improve outcomes in complex cardiovascular procedures. During the quarter, shares detracted from performance after the company reported in-line first-quarter results but modestly lowered its full-year outlook, primarily due to slower-than-expected starter set sales for AMDS, its key new product cycle."
Artivion, Inc. (NYSE:AORT) is not on our list of 40 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds Heading Into 2026. According to our database, 28 hedge fund portfolios held Artivion, Inc. It’s been an Iowa high school state baseball tournament to remember for North Polk.
The Comets went from playing a half inning before getting rained out Monday to playing extra innings and beating Western Dubuque in the 10th; the Comets left it all out on the field.
But on Wednesday, July 22, it came to an end. Dubuque Wahlert defeated North Polk, 3-2, with a walk-off single from Noah Krapfl, ending the Comets' chance at a state ******* le.
Errors plagued North Polk, and two of them in the first inning led to the game's first run and a 1-0 lead for Wahlert. Then a dropped third strike that led to a passed ball allowed Wahlert to grab a 2-0 lead in the fifth inning.
But just before it seemed North Polk used up everything it had over an emotional few days, the “Cardiac Comets” returned Wednesday evening to make things interesting. Trailing with just six outs to play with, North Polk tied things up in the sixth.
