Hayden Panettiere's on-again, off-again boyfriend Brian Hickerson is terrified that her estranged mother, Lesley Vogel, will stop at nothing to finish him following the actress' death, a source tells In Touch.
As In Touch previously reported, Brian, 37, and his brother, Zach Hickerson, were both on the scene when paramedics responded to a 911 call involving the Nashville star, 35, in Greenville, South Carolina on Sunday, August 16. Despite attempts to revive her, Panettiere was ******* ounced dead, leaving behind an 11-year-old daughter, Kaya, with ex-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko.
"Brian swears up and down that he's been completely honest about what happened the day Hayden died, but make no mistake, he's terrified right now," reveals the source. "The DEA is investigating. It's very serious, and Hayden's mom is clearly on the warpath."
Vogel, 70, told the Daily Mail that she raised questions about Brian's account of Panettiere's final hours to law enforcement, including the idea that he simply found her unresponsive.
"I don't know how you can take a nap near someone who's dying and not realize something's wrong. How do you do that?" Vogel told the outlet. "When the EMTs came, it was for cardiac arrest. People in cardiac arrest aren't just lying still. They make noise."

Aug 21 (Reuters) - More than 2,500 people have now died in the Democratic Republic of Congo's Ebola outbreak, which is spreading exponentially in an area larger ‌than France, senior United Nations Ebola coordinator Julien Harneis said on Friday.
Speaking on a video ‌call from the northeastern Congolese city of Bunia, Harneis called for more aid, saying an existing pool of funds is set to run out within weeks.
Health workers there were coming under attack by locals angered and terrified by the outbreak, and were themselves falling sick and dying from the disease, he added.

Erik Spoelstra celebrates Giannis Antetokounmpo's fit within the Heat's system originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
After a few seasons of struggles, the Miami Heat finally have a megastar to lead the charge for them. While Bam Adebayo is a star for the Heat, he is not the typical one who can carry a team with his offensive play. That is where Giannis Antetokounmpo comes in, who is one of the league's best players.
Head coach Erik Spoelstra is clearly excited to have Antetokounmpo on his team because he has a star for his system. Adebayo will continue to feature in a prominent role, but he will be the second option behind the two-time league MVP.
The Heat have had championship aspirations even before Giannis joined the team. Unfortunately, they lacked the talent to fully compete with the best teams in the Eastern Conference. Pair that with constant injuries, and you have the Heat's inconsistency throughout the past few seasons.
Now that they have Antetokounmpo, they have a superstar who can carry his team to victories almost every night. Defensively, they are one of the most dangerous teams in the league because teams will be terrified of playing against a frontcourt duo of Adebayo and Antetokounmpo.

How do you react when you're told you'll be racing the Tour de France for the first time? For Britain's Zoe Backstedt, "When you get the phone call to say that you've been selected, it's like, OK, don't scream. You can scream after you've put the phone down."
The 21-year-old beams as she recounts the moment on video call with The Independent, a couple of days before her debut at the biggest race on the calendar. An electric first half of the season, including defending her ***** le at the Baloise Ladies Tour, top-five finishes at Dwars door Vlaanderen and Tour of Flanders, and the clean sweep of British national road and time-trial crowns, means the Welshwoman is full of confidence heading to the start line in Lausanne this weekend.
She still hadn't necessarily expected the call-up and was terrified of "jinxing it". "You don't want to say anything or do anything that could potentially make you not selected. It was basically showing that I was good enough at every time trial I've done this season, just giving it 110 per cent, really proving that I'm good enough to go."
Backstedt's prowess against the clock this year, in particular, has been remarkable, with four wins from five ITTs or prologues and her only defeat a second place in the Tour de Suisse time trial, won by none other than the reigning world champion, Marlen Reusser. Backstedt is also the current under-23 world champion in the discipline and will be among the favourites to take a maiden stage win in the Tour's time trial, a 21km run from Gevrey-Chambertin to Dijon on stage four.
She is philosophical about the prospect of pressure on her shoulders, saying: "I'm still young. I've still got years to prove myself as well. For now it's like a focus on everything that you can do, to the best of your ability, really just keeping to myself and trying not to think too much outside of what I need to do on the day. A top 10, a top five, top three, even a win, all of those I think I can still be grateful for and and really be happy with.

Jenney Bitner always looked forward to her family's annual trip to see her mother in San Diego. For her three kids, it was a two-week vacation at their grandmother's house. For Bitner and her husband, it meant some relaxing time in the sun while their Washington home battled wet February weather.
In 2020, the trip was even more welcome than usual: Bitner was 22 weeks pregnant, and she looked forward to the family time amid the second half of her pregnancy. But after one day, Bitner felt too sick to get out of bed. Her head ached, she was nauseous and vomiting, and she felt unsteady on her feet.
Two urgent cares suggested she was just dealing with pregnancy symptoms. That didn't feel right to Bitner, but she figured an upcoming appointment with her obstetrician would provide answers. But when the family got home from San Diego, Bitner fell twice. Her husband insisted on bringing her to the emergency room.
An MRI revealed a "giant tumor" in her brain. Doctors scheduled an operation to remove as much of the tumor as possible. Tests on the mass revealed Bitner had Stage IV melanoma that had spread to her brain. It was a shock: melanoma usually presents with a mark or lesion, and Bitner had never seen one. When the disease has spread this far, patients have a five-year survival rate of about 35%, according to the American Cancer Society.
"I had just turned 38, and I was pregnant with my fourth kid. I was thinking, 'I'm too young for this to be happening,'" Bitner recalled. "I was thinking, 'There's no way I'm going to make it through this. I'm never going to see this baby survive to a year old.' I was terrified."

The San Francisco 49ers shook up the NFL landscape this offseason by signing future Hall of Fame wide receiver Mike Evans. And as head coach Kyle Shanahan's squad gears up for the 2026 season, the football world is taking notice of how lethal this new pairing could be.
Count Arizona Cardinals legendary wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald among those who believe the rest of the league should be terrified. Speaking with The Athletic's Vic Tafur, Fitzgerald made a bold claim about Evans following his arrival in the Bay Area.
"I think he's the most underrated receiver of this generation," Fitzgerald said. "You'd be hard-pressed to find anybody who has been more consistently productive than he has. He's a Super Bowl champion."
Fitzgerald didn't stop there, pointing directly to the tactical advantage Evans will now enjoy playing in San Francisco's offense.
"Now you team him with Kyle Shanahan, one of the greatest offensive minds we have in our game, and that's pretty scary. … I think Christian Kirk is going to be a really magnificent addition for the 49ers as well."

It’s another West Coast late start, and I want to go to bed. Unfortunately, I’m bound to my duties as the Sunday recap guy, so we’re going to do another live blog so I can push publish as soon as this bad boy wraps up. Join me for the next three or so hours as I live-react to the Red Sox, the World Cup, and whatever else is going on in Jake-land on this Sunday evening.
8:53 PM: One of my roommates recently moved out, and his room was much bigger than mine, so I moved in today. The only problem is, my dog is terrified of the beeping noise an air conditioner makes, and every time my roommate would walk in here, he would turn on the AC or a **** e heater, and my dog would run. Now, she doesn’t want to come into this room even though there’s no AC unit set up. The point is, I’m doing this from my new room for the first time, which is exciting for me because I could pretty much touch all four walls at the same time in my old room.
8:56 PM: My neighbors gave me a Rice Krispie treat that may or may not be infused with other ingredients. I’m not normally one to eat special Rice Krispie treats, but tonight feels like it would make for a fun recap.
8:59 PM: My girlfriend said it was a bad idea.
9:04 PM: I shared this document with her, and she told me I should add that she’s always right. She’s not, but I’m telling her that I’m adding it.

Every boom has its believers. The smartest investors also spend time thinking about what happens if the story falls apart. That's precisely where Mark Cuban went on X June 26, laying out what he believes are "multiple ways" today's AI race could unravel if the public starts viewing leading models as "toxic." Yet even after walking through the bear case, he arrived at the same conclusion: he's still bullish on AI.
Responding to a critic on X, Cuban argued that the companies leading the AI race are spending extraordinary amounts of money because they fear the industry could become a winner-take-all market, much like internet search.

Micron Technology (MU) has become one of the biggest beneficiaries of the artificial intelligence (AI) boom, and its latest earnings report made that clearer than ever. The memory chipmaker delivered blockbuster quarterly results, issued guidance that easily topped Wall Street's expectations, and showed that demand for its high-bandwidth memory and advanced storage products remains exceptionally strong. Unsurprisingly, investors cheered the report, sending MU stock sharply higher.
Still, the most important takeaway from Micron's report may not have been the earnings beat itself. Instead, it was the company's progress in securing long-term supply agreements with major customers. These deals gave management enough visibility to project that supply shortages will extend beyond 2027, marking a notable shift from the company's previous outlook, which focused only on the current calendar year.

Microsoft (MSFT) is a legacy tech player that has been in business for over 51 years. It develops software, cloud computing services, artificial intelligence (AI) platforms, business applications, gaming products, and hardware. MSFT stock, which has returned roughly 629% over the last decade, has taken a hit so far this year, with shares down 22% year-to-date (YTD).
June has been the company's worst month, with the stock reaching a new low of $349.20 last week. But that doesn't mean Microsoft's business suddenly deteriorated. Instead, the decline was fueled by a broader selloff in AI and mega-cap tech stocks. While the market is repricing MSFT stock, savvy investors should see this as a long-term opportunity to scoop up this legacy tech giant's shares.

Tempus AI (TEM) may be building one of healthcare's fastest-growing artificial intelligence (AI) platforms, but the stock hasn't given investors much to celebrate lately. Shares are down roughly 15% over the past year and about 4% year-to-date (YTD), even as the company continues to report strong revenue growth and expand its footprint in AI-powered precision medicine. TEM stock even has an approximately 4% weightage in Cathie Wood's ARK Invest ETFs (ARKG) (ARKK). With the stock pulling back while the fundamentals continue improving, investors are left with a critical choice.
Does this pullback represent a buying opportunity or a warning sign?

Markets enter a holiday-shortened week facing geopolitical escalation as Iran launched new strikes against U.S. bases in Bahrain and Kuwait early Sunday. This continued back-and-forth pattern of attacks threatens the fragile U.S.-Iran peace framework and raises risks to the Strait of Hormuz access established through last week's memorandum of understanding.

Gorilla Technology (GRRR) has given investors a compelling reason to pay attention. The company recently announced a new AI compute infrastructure contract worth up to $2.5 billion over five years. For a company that generated just over $100 million in revenue last year, that number is massive.
The timing is also notable. Gorilla just reported another quarter of strong growth, topped Wall Street revenue expectations, improved its cash position, and raised full-year guidance. The latest contract adds another layer to the story. It gives investors greater visibility into future revenue and reinforces management's strategy of expanding beyond security software into AI infrastructure.

Recently, Meta Platforms (META) unveiled its new smart glasses in partnership with EssilorLuxottica (ESLOY), the parent company of Ray-Ban. What's more important is that the glasses cost $299, which is at least $80 less than the price of the company's entry-level second-generation Meta Ray-Ban glasses. Further, it's much cheaper than last year's $800 premium Ray-Ban Display glasses.
This is another step in the company's push into wearables as competition in the eyewear ***** e heats up. The marketing has been aggressive, with Meta partnering with social media personality Kylie Jenner to promote the product's prescription lenses. On top of that, the glasses will be sold under Meta's own branding rather than established eyewear brands and will be laden with AI technology.

When a once‑famous tech name posts an earnings beat that sends the stock up double digits, people pay attention. BlackBerry's (BB) shares jumped 19.95% after its June 25 earnings report, even though the stock is still more than 60% below levels from twenty years ago. The company reported revenue of $152.9 million, up 25.6% year‑over‑year (YOY), which suggests its shift toward software might finally be gaining real traction.
Those numbers have turned what was mostly a nostalgia ticker into a real turnaround debate. For a company still tied in many minds to its old smartphone days, a double‑digit post‑earnings move and steadily better fundamentals naturally raise a big question for investors. Is this the point where years of transformation finally start to pay off, or just another quick spike that fades away?

"Sister, Sister" star Tamera Mowry-Housley has brought her longtime California dwelling to the market for $2.7 million—months after revealing that she and her husband were in the process of building their "dream" family abode in Napa Valley.
Mowry, 47, and her spouse, Adam Housley, 54, announced in April that they had embarked on a very extensive renovation of a dilapidated property in wine country. Records show they purchased it for $3.8 million in October 2024.
At the time, the actress, who shot to fame while starring in the hit Nickelodeon series alongside her twin sister, Tia Mowry, admitted that the renovation represented a new chapter in her family's life. She joked that she was both excited and terrified to move to the country.
"I'm so excited but also a little nervous and anxious because I'm a city girl," shared Mowry-Housley, who launched a renovation series on her YouTube account.
Weeks after announcing their exciting news, the couple took the next step in their journey by putting their family's Fairfield, CA, home on the market—15 years after buying the 4,863-square-foot home for $1.4 million.

Kate Middleton is reportedly petrified of hospital visits after a staff member tried to sell her medical reports for financial gain. Sources revealed that the Princess of Wales is deeply "terrified" by a recent incident. She is allegedly unsure about future medical treatment and the confidentiality of her personal medical records.
Kate Middleton is now reportedly wary of future hospital visits and the security of her personal medical records. For those unversed, in 2024, a staff member employed at The London Clinic in London allegedly accessed the princess' private medical records after she underwent abdominal surgery there. The staff member attempted to sell the confidential information to make quick money (via The Mirror).
A formal investigation was launched under the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Although the anonymous staffer was reportedly dismissed from their job and banned from working in the healthcare sector, this has done little to regain Middleton's trust.
A palace source revealed to RadarOnline, "This was a profound breach of trust at an incredibly vulnerable moment in Catherine's life. She expected the same privacy any patient should receive and instead found herself at the center of concerns about the security of her medical records."
A second source explained that there is "understandable anxiety" that something like this could happen again. Middleton felt that if this could happen to one of the most powerful public figures of the country, it could happen to anyone. "Catherine is said to be hugely concerned, and frankly terrified, about future medical visits and whether absolute confidentiality can ever be guaranteed," the source added.

Daveigh Chase's friend and former manager has revealed that the former child actor had been missing for 10 years before her death was announced earlier this week.
Chase, who voiced Lilo in Disney's 2002 animated hit Lilo & Stitch and terrified audiences as Samara Morgan in The Ring the same year, was 35.
The actor's death was announced by her boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, who told TMZ that she died Tuesday after a bout of meningitis and a blood infection that caused septic issues.
Chase's father, John David Schwallier, confirmed the news to The New York Times, adding that his daughter had been homeless and living in Los Angeles with her boyfriend near the hospital where she died. "Him and her were destitute," Schwallier said.
In an interview published Thursday, John Ryan Jr., a Hollywood producer who represented Chase in the last stage of her career, told Entertainment Weekly that the actor disappeared over a decade ago.

The entertainment industry has long been at the forefront of LGBTQ+ storytelling, shaping culture through film, music and television. I practice entertainment law, and I think about that moment every time I meet with a creative team.
For Pride Month, as an entertainment litigator, former outside pro bono counsel to GLAAD, and member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, I wanted to find out if others had similar experiences. So I asked LGBTQ+ women and non-binary professionals across the industry to share what allyship has meant to them in real, human moments like mine.
What they shared is a reminder that the most meaningful allyship happens behind the scenes in a writers' room, on a set or in a hallway conversation.
"In 2008, I was a lesbian singer-songwriter trying to find my place in the music scene. I had been booked to open for a gay male headliner whose career was much further along than mine. Before the show, he asked the organizers to switch the lineup so I would perform later in the evening. He explained that queer women deserved more visibility in music. For context, this was seven years before marriage equality became law across the United States, and seeing openly LGBTQ+ artists succeed still felt rare. That small act of allyship stayed with me. He didn't just make ******* e for me on a stage. He showed me that success didn't have to be a competition. It could be an opportunity to lift others up. I still think about that moment whenever I have the chance to open a door for another artist."
