The world mourned the loss of Patrick Stewart on Thursday as the iconic actor passed at the age of 86 after a battle with Alzheimer's Disease and Lewy Body Dementia. Stewart was a prolific stage actor as well as taking on massive roles in both television and film. He played Captain Jean-Luc Picard for 176 episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, as well as starring as Professor X in eight X-Men movies -- including post-credit scenes and cameos -- across both the Fox and Marvel Cinematic universes (with the ninth coming this December with Avengers: Doomsday).
But one of the things that made Stewart so special and beloved was his willingness to do something goofy or funny. Such was the case in a 2024 Super Bowl commercial for Paramount+. Not only did Stewart star alongside well-known CBS and Paramount+ characters like Survivor's Jeff Probst, Knuckles from Sonic the Hedgehog, daytime host Drew Barrymore and Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa.

Elina Svitolina has announced the end of her five-year marriage to fellow tennis star Gaël Monfils, attributing the decision to the emotional and mental impact of Russia's war in her native Ukraine.
Svitolina, 32, said in a statement posted on both players' Instagram profiles on Monday that she had endured sleepless nights, doubts and a feeling of losing herself, even with Monfils' support, before coming to the conclusion that she could not rediscover herself within their marriage.
"Gaël saw all of it," she wrote. "He never let go of my hand. We fought through this together for a long time, with everything we had. But some battles happen deep inside you, and no amount of love from someone else can win them for you.

The controversy surrounding Farid Basharat's UFC release continues to grow, with the former bantamweight now hitting back at Dana White's remarks. The 29-year-old was let go despite remaining unbeaten, finishing his UFC run with a perfect 7-0 record and an overall MMA record of 16-0.
One of the biggest talking points since Basharat's release has been his lack of finishes. Six of his seven UFC victories came by decision, but he consistently got the job done against tough competition. Marco Sturm is giving the Boston Bruins' younger players a chance to prove themselves, and Matt Poitras is taking full advantage of it.
Poitras signed a one-year, two-way deal on the day training camp opened, and one day later told reporters that he needs to "prove to everybody that I can be in the lineup every night." It was not all smooth sailing, though. He suffered a lower-body injury during training camp and missed the first three regular-season games before playing in the last six.
Ahead of his first game, Sturm said he was looking to "see [Poitras'] strengths, and I think just being smart, and skate." Six games later, Sturm is happy with what he's seen out of the 22-year-old center.
"Yeah, he's been solid, and that's all I'm asking for," Sturm said of Poitras after Saturday's game in Los Angeles. "I'm not asking for big points and goals, whatever. No, I want him to just do [his] job, and the rest will come automatically."
In his first five games of the season, Poitras centered the fourth line. He skated alongside Tanner Jeannot and Mark Kastelic, but with Pavel Zacha sidelined by an upper-body injury, Poitras moved into a top-six role.

Judge Jeannine Pratt called the former pastor's actions "abhorrent" and "quite honestly impossible to fathom" while handing down the life sentence on Monday.
Caleb Flynn called 911 early on Feb. 16 to report that his wife had been shot by an intruder at their home in Tipp City, north of Dayton. He was arrested three days later. Prosecutors alleged that Caleb Flynn "executed" his wife by shooting her twice in the back of the head in bed so that he could be with his mistress and manipulated the crime scene to make it seem as if an intruder had broken in through the garage.

Tom Cruise paid homage his memorable Risky Business scene during his appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show this week.
While visiting to promote his new film Digger, the actor took "old records off the shelf" while dancing to the cover of 1978 Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band classic "Old Time Rock & Roll." While playing Joel Goodsen in Risky Business, released in 1983, Cruise danced to the song in a crisp shirt, his underwear and a pair of black sunglasses.
While he wore jeans this time around, the actor pulled out a similar pair of sunnies for his Spirit Tunnel experience, and even danced with a crew members before hitting the stage.

The youngest daughter of President Donald Trump took to Instagram on October 1 to share a carousel of photos to mark the end of September. It included a few pictures from her recent trip to India and snaps from the state dinner at the White House.
Tiffany Trump flaunted a full-glam look in the cover photo of her carousel. She wore a fluffy white robe as she smiled at the camera, with her long blonde hair styled in loose waves. The second slide captured her standing in Central Park holding her toddler son, Alexander, in her arms. She wore a dark brown leather jacket, jeans, and brown suede buckle boots. Meanwhile, Alexander was dressed casually in a white shirt, light pants, and white slip-on shoes.
In another picture, Alexander stood cheerfully in front of a custom-built, light-blue playhouse labeled with his name above the door. The little boy wore a light-blue striped polo, white shorts, and navy shoes, raising both hands with a big smile. The house featured a dark blue front door, white trim, small shutters, and flower boxes filled with blue hydrangeas.
The 32-year-old also shared a cute snap of the toddler running indoors wearing only a diaper and her father's necktie draped loosely around his neck. The black-and-white picture captured the 16-month-old mid-run with a big grin on his face.
Additionally, the dump included a family portrait of Tiffany Trump, Michael Boulos, and their son, Alexander. It was from their trip to Mumbai, where they attended the Ambani family's lavish Ganesh Chaturthi celebration. In the picture, the couple was all smiles, with the toddler sitting in his father's lap.
