As Mike Dunleavy explained it, at least, his call log is a graveyard. Deals buried six feet under, never to see the light of day. Cold calls, dangling "stuff" - as Dunleavy put it - where the other line eventually died. He tried, at least.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is live TODAY (Sat., Aug. 22, 2026) with UFC Sacramento, streaming live online via Paramount+. The event happens at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA. Our main event tonight is Anthony Hernandez vs. Gregory Rodrigues in the Middleweight division.
The UFC rolls into Sac-Town for the first time in years, tonight. The last time they were here they hung their card on Germaine de Randamie. I think it's fair to say they've come with a better main event this time around with 'Fluffy' vs. 'RoboCop'. Despite that fun main event, though, the rest of the card leaves much to be desired.
This is Hernandez's first fight since he was stopped by Sean Strickland. Had that not happened, Hernandez would have likely fought for the ****** le. Rodrigues is on a three fight winning streak and just KO'd Brunno Ferreira. Both these guys have lots of wins and finishes in the division. But it also feels like they'll need more than a win in Sacramento to get back into the 185 lbs. ****** le picture.
It's not the co-main, but the second most interesting fight on the card is Reinier de Ridder vs. Roman Dolidze, also in the Middleweight division. Both these guys are miles away from ****** le contention, but they are well-known names at least. De Ridder is coming off losses to Caio Borralho and Brendan Allen. Dolidze is coming off a loss to our headliner, Hernandez.
Rounding out the main card tonight is Serghei Spivac vs. Vitor Petrino, MarQuel Mederos vs. Mason Jones, Carli Judice vs. Jeisla Chaves and Anthony Wint vs. Terrance Chatman. Jones already had a Fight of the Year candidate, against Axel Sola, earlier this year. Judice and Chaves might also put on a fun brawl. Wint is a super prospect, and former NFL player, who has been fed a total newcomer.

Crystal Palace have struck an agreement with Chelsea to loan Axel Disasi (28), according to a report from RMC Sport.
Disasi has no future at Chelsea. The former AS Monaco defender has spent the past two seasons on short-term loans, firstly at Aston Villa and then with West Ham United. He suffered relegation with the latter last season. As was the case under Enzo Maresca, Liam Rosenior, and now Xabi Alonso, he does not feature in the manager's plans, and he is now primed for another loan exit, this time to Crystal Palace.

The Golden State Warriors finally moved on from Jonathan **** inga at last February's trade deadline, sending him and Buddy Hield to the Atlanta Hawks for Kristaps Porzingis. Unfortunately for the Warriors, Porzingis wasn't very healthy during his first season with the team. However, in 15 appearances, he did average 16.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 **** ists, 1.1 blocks and 0.6 steals. This summer, the Latvian big man agreed to a two-year extension to remain in the Bay Area.
With Jimmy Butler III and Moses Moody injured to begin the 2026-27 season, Golden State fans will be hopeful for Porzingis to step up as a secondary scorer along with Brandin Podziemski and recent No. 11 overall pick Yaxel Lendeborg. With the offseason continuing to dwindle down as the calendar is now turned to August, now is the time for players to really begin getting some final work in and whatever relaxation days they want to use. The real work will begin at the end of September when training camp begins.
For Philadelphia 76ers rookie Labaron Philon Jr., the No. 22 overall pick is using his final offseason days to play in some pickup runs with fellow rookie, Yaxel Lendeborg of the Golden State Warriors.
Philon and Lendeborg were filmed playing in some pickup runs in Pennsauken, NJ. Lendeborg went to Pennsauken High School before heading off to college. Lendeborg's Michigan Wolverines knocked off Philon's Alabama Crimson Tide in the Sweet 16 by a score of 90-77. Philon did score 35 points in the matchup.
While Philon waited to hear his name called until No. 22 with the Sixers, Lendeborg was selected by the Warriors at No. 11. It will be interesting to see when the first real NBA matchup between the two will be when the league releases the schedule.

Justin Axel has been hired as Salisbury University's new head men's lacrosse coach, the school announced on Tuesday.
Axel, a Salisbury alum who has served as an **** istant coach for the Sea Gulls during two different stints, will be taking over as head coach after longtime head coach Jim Berkman announced his retirement in June.
"This is a special moment for Salisbury men's lacrosse, and Justin is the right person to lead the program forward," Salisbury University Director of Athletics and Campus Recreation Monica Polizzi said in a statement. "He understands what makes Sea Gull lacrosse different because he has helped build its championship tradition for more than a decade. Justin brings championship experience, proven leadership and a deep commitment to developing student-athletes on and off the field. We are confident he will continue the standard of excellence that has made SU one of the premier programs in collegiate lacrosse."
Under Berkman's leadership, Salisbury's men's lacrosse team became one of the premier programs in Division III, winning 13 national **** les. Now, Axel will look to continue that success as the new head coach.
"It is a true honor to build upon the incredible legacy of Coach Jim Berkman and Salisbury Men's Lacrosse," Axel said about his hiring. "I am extremely excited about the future of this program and the opportunities that lie ahead. I want to thank President Lepre and Athletic Director Monica Polizzi for this incredible opportunity. Coach Berkman has been an instrumental figure in my life, and I cannot thank him enough for his support, guidance, and friendship over the last 25 years. Buy a reasonably priced home? Not in this market. What about paying off some debt? That's a reasonable idea. Set aside a little to wager on some college football? Could win or lose yourself some money that way. (It is Vegas we're talking about after all.) You could also buy roughly 2 million Mountain Dew Baja Blasts from Taco Bell if you are like me and love the Bell.

Forty percent of voters picked the $2-5 million range, which felt like a low-ball given how that is the going rate for some of college sport's most coveted players. How much can one UNLV men's basketball be worth? Possibly one whole Yaxel Lendeborg, apparently.
Thirty percent picked $10 million and up, which was what UNLV head coach Josh Pastner valued his team at when he jokingly said someone should buy the program, which started this fun hypothetical — one that feels all too possible with private equity and venture capital circling our beloved college sports.

Crystal Palace have submitted a loan offer with an obligation to buy for Chelsea defender Axel Disasi, according to Fabrice Hawkins. Xabi Alonso and Pierre Sage are at Stamford Bridge and Selhurst Park with the Blues and the Eagles respectively.
