Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride will play with a refined passion in 2026. With the 2025 season in his rearview mirror and the Los Angeles Chargers ahead, McBride is hoping that his passion and premier pass-catching can spark the beginning of a new chapter for the franchise.
The Chargers lost defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, who moved on to a head coaching position with the Baltimore Ravens. Still, Chargers safety Derwin James Jr. is on the roster and his skillset poses a significant opposition for McBride. Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur still has plans on making McBride the focus of the team offense and it'll come down to pure will to determine whether or not McBride can muscle up.
The Cardinals seem to have a competent offensive personnel group at the skills positions but time will tell how their offensive line fares in 2026. Play-action and the quick passing game are both strategies where LaFleur and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett are likely to call on McBride's jersey number. McBride is quick and physical, plus his route running makes him a mismatch for most opposing linebackers and safeties.
Ultimately, if the Cardinals are to stand a chance on Sunday, they will rely on their passing attack to propel the offense and that'll mean that McBride must be exceptionally magnificent. The Chargers allowed just 19.8 points per game in 2025, but without the mastermind of Minter, McBride might locate a few breaches that can be exploited.

The Philadelphia Eagles issued their second official injury report of the week on Thursday in advance of their Week 1 game against the Washington Commanders.
The Eagles listed two players under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: Jonathan Greenard and Eli Stowers.
The Eagles are said to be determining Greenard's availability based on how he fares in practice this week. Two days of him being limited doesn't necessarily preclude him from playing … but they'd probably like to see him get at least one full session in before he suits up. So, we'll see how things go for Friday's final injury report.

WASHINGTON, Sept 10 (Reuters) - U.S. producer prices increased in August amid higher costs of goods, airline fares and hospital services, boosting the chances of an interest rate hike from the Federal Reserve next week.
The report from the Labor Department on Thursday followed news last week of a sharp acceleration in job growth in August. Airline fares and hospital services are among the components that go into the calculation of the Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Indexes, the inflation measures tracked by the U.S. central bank for its 2% inflation target.
August's Consumer Price Index data on Friday could shed more light on the inflation picture and further shape interest rate expectations for next week.
"This report points to cost increases in the pipeline and will support the case of those on the Committee who want to hike rates now," said Carl Weinberg, chief economist at High Frequency Economics.

CNBC reported that American Airlines Group Inc. (NASDAQ:AAL) announced seven new international routes for its summer 2027 schedule, most flown on its Airbus A321XLR.
New destinations include Philadelphia to Porto and Vienna and JFK to Amsterdam and Nice, alongside a returning Reykjavik route and Charlotte-Barcelona and Chicago-Tokyo Narita service on widebody jets. American's SVP of network and schedule planning, Brian Znotins, said the XLR "really opens up the menu for all these destinations that are just too small for a widebody." The announcement came the same week that rival United Airlines, which flies more international routes than any other U.S. carrier, unveiled its own 2027 international additions. American has said its flying is split roughly 80% domestic and 20% international.
The XLR gives American Airlines Group Inc. (NASDAQ:AAL) a more flexible way to expand its international network. The smaller, long-range aircraft lets American serve thinner transatlantic markets without committing the capacity of a larger widebody jet. That flexibility opens opportunities such as Philadelphia-Vienna and Philadelphia-Porto and gives American another way to grow international revenue.
The XLR's premium-heavy configuration also gives American more room to target higher-value travelers. American designed the aircraft's new interior with more premium seating than its other aircraft, allowing the airline to offer a stronger premium product on long-haul routes. If American can fill those seats at attractive fares, the aircraft could improve the economics of its international expansion.
American also gains a competitive advantage on Philadelphia-Vienna. The airline said it will become the only U.S. carrier offering nonstop service between the two cities. That position gives American a differentiated product on the route and could help it capture travelers who value nonstop service.

Passengers have welcomed the return of publicly owned bus services to Merseyside for the first time since the 1980s.
The first services launched in St Helens on Sunday 6 September and will expand to the Wirral later this year. Full roll-out across the city region is expected by 2027.
Liverpool City Region secured £86.3m in government funding to help roll out the scheme. The Department for Transport said it would give local leaders greater control over routes, branding and fares, while helping improve services for passengers.

Axel Sola didn't love that the UFC Paris co-main event was France vs. France, but it's part of the job.
Luckily for Sola (13-1-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC), he was on the giving end, not the receiving end, of a brutal first-round knockout. A friend and fellow countryman, Fares Ziam, paid the price for zigging when he should've zagged.
"I have a lot of respect for Firas Ziam," Sola said at a post-fight news conference. "I was happy to get the win cleanly and quickly, but a little bit sad for him because it's not good for your health. But I'm sure he's going to do what he has to do in order to come back safely and perform again inside the UFC."
A brutal left hand put the lights out. Sola drilled Ziam (18-6 MMA, 8-4 UFC) with a few more follow-up shots before the referee stopped the fight. Ziam was down for a while afterward.
The victory is now the most impactful highlight on Sola's reel. It extended his winning streak to two and likely sets him up for an even bigger opportunity next time out. He thinks the more he fights, the better he'll get.

Axel Sola scored an absolutely devastating one-punch knockout to end Fares Ziam's night in dramatic fashion in the UFC Paris co-main event.
After some early exchanges on the feet, Sola just leaned into his power and uncorked the left hand that slammed into Ziam's face and he immediately fell unconscious to the floor. The referee jumped into stop the fight with the end coming at just 1:40 into the opening round as Solo picked up the win over his fellow Frenchman at UFC Paris.
"Fares is a f*cking great fighter," Sola said after his victory. "Bring your support for him. I hope you like my performance. My job is only to say yes to the matchmakers so I'm waiting on the offer."
The early exchanges were fairly even with Ziam settling into his own rhythm on the feet but it appeared Sola was just biding his time until he saw the perfect opening.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is live THIS AFTERNOON (Sat., Sept. 5, 2026) with UFC Paris, streaming live online via Paramount+. The event happens at Accor Arena in Paris, France, featuring a special Octagon newcomer in the main event.
Salahdine Parnasse vs. Dan Hooker is our main event, going down in the Lightweight division. Parnasse is a long-time former KSW champion who made a big splash with his one and done appearance at MVP MMA. The reason he was done there was because UFC wanted to poach him out of that fledgling promotion before he drew too many serious mixed martial arts (MMA) fans over to it. Hooker comes into this one off two losses and looking very much like a sacrificial lamb. However, as last week taught us, -600 odds can be overcome.
The co-main is an all French affair, in the Featherweight division, with Fares Ziam meeting Axel Sola. Both of these guys are action fighters known for putting on a show. They should get the crowd roaring in Paris, even if it's not obvious to the locals whom they should be cheering for.
Rounding out the main card is Michael Page vs. Nursulton Ruziboev, Daniil Donchenko vs. Punahele Soriano, Kurtis Campbell vs. Trevor Peek and Losene Keita vs. Muhammad Naimov. Page might be trying to fight out of his UFC contract here, which is the reason UFC has pared him with a big, rangy striker who can also make you quit on the ground.
The featured "Prelim" is Morgan Charriere vs. Felipe Lima. The undercard also boasts Mario Pinto vs. Ryan Spann, Oumar Sy vs. Modestas Bukauskas and Nathaniel Wood against late replacement Pavel Andrusca. Fares Ziam will have Trevor Wittman in his corner at UFC Fight Night 287.Ziam (18-5 MMA, 8-3 UFC) takes on Axel Sola (12-1-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) in Saturday's lightweight co-main event at Accor Arena in Paris.
Ziam has worked with Wittman before, and even served as a key training partner for UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje's UFC 324 fight against Paddy Pimblett. But now Ziam is looking to make a permanent move onto Wittman's team.
"My plan is to move with my family to the U.S. to be in Denver," Ziam told MMA Junkie. "Honestly, like I say, two to three years in Denver and forget, but yes, for me it's important to evolve in this game, to be focused. Before, I didn't have any head coach. I had a team around me, but at this level, we need a head coach, a guy who thinks for you, a guy who works well for you, and Trevor is the best for me."
Ziam saw his six-fight winning streak snapped by Tom Nolan in June at UFC Fight Night 278. Not only was it his first setback in more than four years, he also lost his spot in the lightweight rankings.
"I don't underestimate anybody, but I was on a six-fight win streak," Ziam said. "It's true also, not a lot of hype on this fight, but a fight is a fight, so we need to go 100 percent on focus. In this fight, I lost my focus a little bit. I was too relaxed, but I think everyone knows I'm better than him. But that night, he won."

On August 7, Airbnb, Inc. (NASDAQ:ABNB) shares surged to a more than four-year high after the company raised its full-year revenue forecast. The firm gave artificial intelligence credit for cutting costs and speeding up how fast it ships new features.
Its competitor Booking Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:BKNG) had a rougher time delivering good news: On August 4, the firm beat second-quarter estimates but trimmed its full-year gross bookings forecast. It blamed ongoing fallout from the Middle East conflict on international travel.
Airbnb now expects 2026 revenue to grow at least a mid-teens percentage, up from its earlier low- to mid-teens call, after posting second-quarter revenue of $3.61 billion, up 17% and ahead of the $3.57 billion Wall Street wanted. CEO Brian Chesky didn't hold back, calling AI the best thing to ever happen to Airbnb and pointing to a 16% drop in customer support costs per booking as proof.
Booking Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:BKNG) made a similar case for its own AI investments. CFO Ewout Steenbergen said the company is already seeing a positive return. Argus Research backed that up by raising its price target to $245 from $210 on August 10. The conservative voter from northeast Iowa said he didn't know Zach Lahn before the political newcomer "came out of nowhere" with a surprise GOP primary win over the candidate endorsed by President Donald Trump. So when Lahn came to his farm last week, Burrack questioned him on his approach to agriculture.
"I hit him pretty hard," said Burrack, who was considering whether to vote for Lahn in November or not vote at all.
It wasn't the first skeptical audience for the self-described "change candidate" in the state led by Republicans.
Lahn won the June primary even though an "entire establishment was set up against me," he said. He criticizes politicians in both parties, accusing them of being bought by corporate interests. Although revenue edged 1% higher to €4.4 billion, the airline was forced to lower ticket prices to stimulate demand amid geopolitical uncertainty. The company also anticipates summer fares to be slightly lower compared to last year, mainly due to "consumer hesitancy" surrounding air travel. The question for investors now is whether Ryanair's (NASDAQ:RYAAY) cost advantages are enough to offset weaker pricing if that trend continues.
At first glance, the quarter looks disappointing. However, the underlying demand picture was stronger than the headline profit decline suggests. Passenger numbers increased 6% during the quarter, allowing revenue to rise 1% to €4.4 billion despite a 6% decline in fares. That suggests consumers are still willing to travel, even if airlines have had to compete more aggressively on price.
The company's biggest advantage, however, may not be demand but costs. On the eve of what is already a huge game in Rangers' season, they confirmed the signing of a player to fill a position in which they have been lacking ever since the departure of Vaclav Cerny.
In Daisuke Yokota, they have a left-footed right winger who they will hope can provide the creativity on that side that was missing from last season's failed ***** le bid.

Speculation has been a little subdued recently over a move for the Real Oviedo man, but the winger who impressed at the recent World Cup in the United States, has turned his back on a the lucrative offer from an unknown Saudi club.
Spanish outlet La Nueva Espana have claimed that the skilful winger was offered a five-year contract worth £2million per year from the unknown club.
That equates to around £38,500 per week, but it isn't enough to convince Hassan to make the move
The outlet further suggests that the 24 year old isn't interested in a move to the Gulf State, and will only consider a move to another European club, leaving the door open ever so wider for Celtic to make their move before transfer window slams shut in a few weeks time.
