Sure, the Browns no longer have the game's best defensive player on their roster, but by moving him, they added the guy who is very capable of taking that ******* le from him at some point.
Cleveland also added draft capital to help them continue building their roster. In addition to Verse, they receive a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick. That's a nice haul. If they hit the target with those choices. They can certainly continue upgrading their roster.

The Indianapolis Colts have officially signed offensive lineman Jalen Farmer to his rookie contract, and Over the Cap has the contract details and salary cap hits.
This four-year deal for Farmer totals $5.570 million, which averages out to $1.392 million per year. Farmer received a signing bonus of $1.190 million as well.

Gonzales may not show the most power, but he’s hit impressively well and held down third base this season. He now has 2 home runs and 29 RBIs, but with the high batting average and an OPS of .759,he has been a sneaky massive piece for Pittsburgh.
Players like Oneil Cruz, Bryan Reynolds, and Brandon Lowe are getting a lot of attention, but Nick Gonzales has to be the most underrated player so far. The Pirates are 33-29 and tied for second in the NL Central, and Gonzales deserves credit so far.
Gonzales recorded his second three-hit game over his last three contests and added a season-high three runs scored in the Tuesday victory. On Wednesday, he extended his hitting streak to a modest five games and is hitting .476 (10-for-21) during the stretch.

KATHMANDU, Nepal (AP) — A Sherpa guide was found crawling to base camp on Mount Everest a week after he went missing, and was reunited with his family who had given up hope he would return.
Dawa Sherpa was last seen around May 29 descending the mountain, but he did not make it to base camp even though his client did. The pair were among the last climbers on the mountain as the climbing season came to an end and the route was dismantled.
Dawa was located by a cleaning crew Thursday morning as he was crawling down the snowy slopes around the Khumbu Icefall, just above base camp, said Pemba Sherpa of 8K Expeditions, which was coordinating the search.
He was quickly carried down to safety and given food and water. A rescue helicopter flew him to HAMS Hospital in Kathmandu, where his wife and daughter, who had already begun funeral rituals for him, were waiting.
"We first heard that he was still alive on the local news and from a person we know who called with the news that ... he is being brought down," his wife, Damu Sherpa, said.

More than five years after losing her husband, Wanda Rogers is still celebrating the love story she shared with a country icon.
Rogers is the widow of Kenny Rogers. Her latest tribute to her late husband is melting hearts across social media. On Monday, June 1, Wanda turned to the late "Lady" singer's official Instagram to honor what would have been their 29th wedding anniversary. The couple wed in 1997 and remained devoted partners all the way up until Kenny's passing in March 2020 at age 81.
Wanda wrote a heartfelt note alongside a wedding photo to the man she still calls her great love.
"Today is the most special day for me: our wedding anniversary," she began, before adding, "Even though I can't touch you, I hold you in my heart forever, Kenny… Justin, Jordan, and I miss you so much. Love, Wanda." Justin and Jordan are the twin sons she and Kenny welcomed together.

Marvell's shares were last up 22.5% at a record high, giving the company a market capitalization of $234 billion, far ‌below the one-trillion ⁠mark that Huang touted.
Nvidia invested $2 billion in Marvell earlier this year, as part ⁠of its efforts to make it easier for customers to use the custom artificial intelligence chips that the smaller company designs with Nvidia's networking gear ‌and central processors.
Marvell last week forecast that its custom chips business would surpass $10 billion in revenue in fiscal 2029, as cloud companies expand AI data centers.

Myles Garrett was added to the Commanders schedule earlier this week. The Cleveland Browns weren’t suddenly part of Washington’s slate. Garrett became one after being traded to the Los Angeles Rams in a blockbuster deal made official on Monday.
The Rams got Garrett. The Browns got young edge rusher Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick and a conditional 2029 third-round pick.
That means Garrett will face the Commanders in a Week 9 matchup at Northwest Stadium. He almost exclusively lines up over the left tackle, creating an epic matchup with Washington’s Laremy Tunsil one of the best at his position.
There’s a mutual respect between these two **** ans, which Tunsil made clear in a recent podcast appearance on “Strong Talk” posted by Men’s Health Magazine.
“Myles Garrett is the best defensive player in the NFL,” Tunsil said. “I’ve been playing against Myles since he was a freshman in college and that had to be, like, (2014). We’ve been battling ever since. Every time we see each other, it’s respect. It’s a different type of lock in, because he doesn’t want to lose and I don’t want to lose. We play the Rams in (Week 9), so it’ll be another fun one.”

BEIJING, June 1 (Reuters) - China and the U.S. held "candid and constructive" exchanges at a meeting in Hawaii on air and maritime safety last week, ‌agreeing that improved communication could reduce miscalculations and enhance professionalism, the Chinese ‌Navy said.
The May 28-29 meeting was attended by representatives from both sides' militaries, it said in a statement late on Monday.
A separate statement from the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command said that it hosted representatives from the People's Liberation Army in Honolulu for discussions focused on reducing the risk of unsafe and unprofessional encounters.
The meeting follows a high-profile summit between Chinese President Xi Jinping ‌and U.S. President Donald Trump ⁠last month and could ease concerns about a lack of communication after the absence of top Chinese military officials at the Shangri-La ⁠Dialogue, a regional defence forum, in Singapore over the weekend.
At last month's summit, Xi and Trump agreed to pursue a "constructive relationship of strategic stability", which ****** ysts say could set practical boundaries for how the two powers interact.

While the tech sector as a whole has been on a tear, Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) hasn't followed suit. The leading social media stock is down 21% from its all-time high of $796 last August (as of May 29).

Manchester United are said to be weighing up an offer for Borussia Dortmund and Germany centre-back Waldemar Anton.
According to The Mirror, the Premier League outfit are considering lodging a bid of around €40.5 million for the 29-year-old, who has been watched in action by scouts from the Red Devils.
Anton was first linked with a move to Old Trafford back in March by Sky Germany, who also mentioned Aston Villa and Atlético Madrid as suitors.
The 29-year-old is part of Germany’s squad for the World Cup and faces strong competition in central defence from Nico Schlotterbeck, Jonathan Tah, Antonio Rüdiger and Malick Thiaw.
He joined BVB from VfB Stuttgart in 2024 and is under contract until 2028.

The Philadelphia Phillies haven't been great over their last 10 games, going 5-5 over that stretch. Just a few months ago, the Phillies were one of the worst teams in baseball, and it almost sounds crazy to say, but with the Atlanta Braves going 6-4 over their last 10, the Phillies needed to take a bigger advantage of situations like that.
That hasn't been the case, though it's a bit tough to blame the Phillies because of who they've played, with the San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Cleveland Guardians being their opponents in that span.
Regardless, because the Phillies have played much better in May than they did for much of the beginning of the year, now sitting at 30-29, many are starting to believe that a trade will have to happen for this team to get to the next level and make the postseason.
There are going to be multiple starters available, and it sounds like replacing youngster Andrew Painter will be at the top of the priority list.

Skubal, 29, won the American League Cy Young Award in both 2024, and 2025.

IBM (IBM) stock price surged almost 13% on Friday from Thursday's close to finish near $298, its sharpest single-day jump in months on a fresh Wall Street call. Now it is pushing above $300 in early Monday trading.
The fuel-turning-heads is a recycled Trump video that resurfaced over the weekend, actually footage from last December. That timing matters, because a clip going viral after the rally already ran, right as price nears heavy resistance, is the kind of spark that pulls in late buyers just as the move tires.
IBM has climbed since a May 13 low near $212, rising as much as 41% before pausing. The surge began well before the viral clip, which means the recirculated December video of President Trump praising IBM is a spark, not the engine.
The firmer catalyst landed June 1. Barclays **** yst Raimo Lenschow initiated coverage with an Overweight rating and a $350 target, noting nearly half of IBM's revenue and most of its profit come from sticky software sold to large, regulated customers. Wedbush reiterated a Buy at $320 on May 29. That's the level IBM stock hints at on early Monday.
Volume supports the move. Trading volume has risen steadily since mid-May, with Friday printing 28.48 million shares as price broke higher.
