Well, this is something to wake up to. According to The Athletic's David Ornstein, overnight Tottenham Hotspur and Everton reached an agreement to essentially swap attackers — bringing Ilman Ndiaye to Spurs, with Richarlison returning to Everton heading the other direction. This is NOT a true swap deal; these will be treated as separate transfers.
In yesterday's post-match press conference, Spurs head coach Roberto De Zerbi essentially told us that Richarlison asked to leave Spurs for a new challenge. I just didn't realize it would all go down so quickly. According to Paul Joyce of The Times, Ndiaye will cost Spurs about £60m, with Richarlison heading the other direction for a fee of £35m, making the outlay a lot lower than most transfers that Spurs have brought in this summer.
Ndiaye, 26, is a French fooballer who has declared for and plays international football for Senegal. He's been used primarily on the left wing for Everton, but can also play centrally or on the right. He's NOT a striker but could be implemented as a #10 if needed. Ndiaye likes to be on the ball and frequently prefers to take on and dribble past his defenders, which frequently turns into touches in the penalty area and shots. He likes to cut inside from the flank and is also comfortable receiving the ball deeper as a ball progression outlet. His acquisition means that Spurs will essentially only have three first team strikers on the books — Omar Marmoush, Dominic Solanke, and Dane Scarlett — but Ndiaye will fortify Spurs' attacking midfield options. His preferred position at Everton will put him in competition with Mathys Tel and Savinho, but his positional flexibility means he could be an ***** et elsewhere as well. He's also a willing presser and capable of putting in defensive work to make tackles. Despite maybe hinting otherwise yesterday, I'm kind of a fan of this deal.
As for Richarlison… well, I'm sad. He's probably my favorite Spurs player (non-Sonny edition) of this era. He's a vibes guy who always seemed to lift the mood, and it's clear he loved Spurs. But it's just as clear that he's not happy here anymore, and as his career starts to wind down a return to the club that lifted him to stardom feels like the closing of the circle. Everton fans love him as much as we do, and I can't begrudge them, or him, this move. It feels like the right choice.

Savinho's involvement for Manchester City fell sharply last season after the club signed winger Antoine **** yo from Bournemouth in January.
He played 821 Premier League minutes, scoring once and providing one **** ist, while featuring in only 31% of City's available minutes.
That was a significant drop from the previous campaign, when he played 54%.
Yet his 2024-25 numbers show why Tottenham are prepared to invest heavily in him. Savinho registered eight Premier League **** ists that season, all from open play, despite playing only 1,773 minutes. Only five players recorded more from open play.
On a per-90 basis, he ranked third for open-play **** ists with 0.41, while only Mohamed Salah created more chances per 90 than Savinho's 2.2.

Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye is reportedly an option for Tottenham Hotspur should they miss out on Cody Gakpo. The saga of not one, but TWO summers is finally at an end. Savinho has officially joined Tottenham Hotspur!
We are delighted to announce the signing of Sávio from Manchester City ✍️
The Brazilian winger, who will wear #17 (which fits nicely with his move to N17), has transferred from Manchester City for a reported £75 million plus £10 million add-ons. It's a hefty fee for a promising talent, but one that is supposedly offset by some transfer shenanigans around a double signing from City, with Omar Marmoush the second player reportedly joining for a lower fee to offset a sell-on clause inserted by Eintracht Frankfurt in his shift to City.
It's a big signing for Spurs. The Lilywhites have been in desperate need of quality in attack, and have arguably over-invested in late-peak players this summer who are unlikely to develop further. Savinho, or Savio, is somebody who is still early in his career and will have the ability to grow and develop in the coming seasons… at least that's the hope. And he's already a pretty decent player!

Manchester City have agreed to sign winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras in a deal worth up to £34.2m.
The 22-year-old Brazilian will come in as a replacement for compatriot Savinho, who looks set to join Tottenham.
City have agreed to pay a fixed fee of £32m, plus £2.2m in add-ons, for Allan with a medical scheduled to take place in the coming days.
They remain in advanced talks to sell Egypt forward Omar Marmoush to Spurs, and sources with knowledge of the situation say there is a "good chance" the deal gets completed before the 1 September transfer deadline.
Discussions are ongoing between the two clubs and there are some details yet to be agreed.

It would seem that Manchester City have settled on signing Allan from Palmeiras to fill void on the right wing in Enzo Maresca's squad. The Brazilian winger looks to have the attributes both in and out of possession that Enzo Maresca desires in a winger. Allan is exceptional in one-on-one situations with the ball at his feet due to his dribbling ability and speed. Tottenham's spending will pass the £300 million ($409 million) mark when Savinho joins from Manchester City and Omar Marmoush is expected to follow, the Press **** ociation understands, but De Zerbi has laughed off criticism before Saturday's opener at Brentford.

Enzo Maresca has not ruled out Man City duo Tijjani Reijnders and Savinho departing the club.
Reijnders is believed to be of interest to Nottingham Forest, while Savinho has been a long-term target for Tottenham.
"He's a player that is here with us," City boss Maresca said when asked about Reijnders after City's 3-1 win over a K-League All Stars team, in which the Dutch midfielder scored.
"The players that are with us until the day that they aren't with us, it's my duty to do the best for them. I'm happy with his performance and he's working good since he came back from his holiday. At the moment I'm very happy with him."
