Some fighters change the moment undisputed gold wraps around their waist. Two-sport ONE World Champion Stella "Always Hungry" Hemetsberger has simply refused to let it reshape her identity.
The Austrian superstar will bring that exact same humble mindset when she defends her ONE Women's Strawweight Muay Thai World ******* le for the first time against Russian standout Natalia "Karelian Lynx" Diachkova.
This highly anticipated clash serves as the main event of ONE Fight Night 46 on Prime Video, broadcasting live in U.S. primetime from the world-famous Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, August 14.
The RS-GYM and ******* et Fight Club representative first overcame Jackie Buntan at ONE Fight Night 35 to capture the vacant Muay Thai crown. Five months later, the Austrian striking ace dethroned the Filipino-American in another highly technical five-round battle to claim the ONE Women's Strawweight Kickboxing World Championship.
It has now been six months since Hemetsberger officially etched her name into the history books, becoming only the third female athlete to capture gold in two disciplines — joining Stamp Fairtex and Janet "JT" Todd — in ONE Championship.

Filipina tennis star Alexandra Eala may be out of the National Bank Open, but she and the Filipino fans brought the best energy to this tournament which desperately needed it. She is currently enjoying well-deserved rest after busy weeks of tennis in DC and Toronto.
Eala will enter the Cincinnati Open potentially seeded as high as World No. 17 after her amazing summer run that included the WTA 500 win at the Mubadala DC Open a couple weeks ago.
In the meantime, her latest social media post exposes a less intense and lighter side to her personality. A familiar tennis face makes a cameo appearance.

RC Strasbourg Alsace have officially announced the signing of Filip Jörgensen (24) on a season-long loan from Chelsea FC.
Jörgensen's arrival marks the end of Strasbourg's pursuit of a new goalkeeper for the upcoming season. The role had been left vacant at the end of last season when Mike Penders' (21) loan from Chelsea came to an end.
L'Équipe reports that since Thursday, Jörgensen has been in France waiting for the move to be completed. However, it was held up due to administrative issues. Now that those issues have been cleared and Jörgensen has officially signed, he'll be able to compete in Strasbourg's final friendly, which will take place against Newcastle United on Saturday.
The very next game will be the season opener away to Olympique de Marseille on Friday the 21st of August. Strasbourg have struggled in preseason having conceded 20 goals in five friendlies, something that new coach Hugo Oliviera will hope Jörgensen will help fix.

The subsidiary is operating at full capacity.
It was expected after Mike Penders' departure: Strasbourg have brought in another goalkeeper on loan from Chelsea.
On Tuesday morning, the Blues announced Filip Jorgensen's move to the Alsatian club on a loan deal without an option to buy.
With this signing, Strasbourg have secured a goalkeeper who proved himself in La Liga before moving to Chelsea and seeing his playing time drastically reduced.
In two years, the 24-year-old Danish keeper made 36 appearances for the Blues and was notably their first-choice goalkeeper during the Conference League triumph two years ago.

World number two Elena Rybakina survived a huge scare to battle into the Canadian Open quarter-finals on Sunday in Toronto, while fourth-ranked Coco Gauff cruised through.
Kazakhstan's Rybakina recovered from 0-3 and two breaks down in the final set to beat Liudmila Samsonova 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 before American Gauff swept aside another Russian, teenage qualifier Alina Korneeva, 6-3, 6-1 in Toronto.
Rybakina will face a quarter-final against four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka, who eliminated home hero Leylah Fernandez 6-4, 6-4.
Gauff reached the last eight in Canada for the first time since 2023 and will come up against either Swiss 12th seed Belinda Bencic or Alexandra Eala, the rapidly rising 21-year-old Filipina who won her first WTA **** le last Monday in Washington.
"My main focus today was let me try and close it out," said Gauff, who has not dropped a set in Canada.

Liverpool is back at Anfield on Sunday for the first time this preseason, hosting Monaco in a friendly two weeks out from the start of the Premier League season.
Andoni Iraola's American tour started well but ended badly. The Reds beat Sunderland 4-2 in Nashville and Wrexham 1-0 at Yankee Stadium before Leeds hammered them 4-2 in Chicago.
Liverpool finished fifth last season, and Iraola leaned hard on young players in the States. Alisson, Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo are all back in training and in line for minutes.

Monaco has a new manager too. Filipe Luís took over in July on a two-year deal, his first job in Europe after winning the Copa Libertadores with Flamengo.

Newcastle United forward Yoane Wissa scored twice to give head coach Matthias Jaissle a 2-1 win against Valencia in his first pre-season friendly in charge.
Filip Ugrinic opened the scoring for Valencia with a curling effort at the Mestalla Stadium, before captain Jose Gaya was sent off for a bad tackle on Anthony Elanga.
Substitute Wissa equalised with a calm finish from close range and then went on to put the visitors in front after new signing Bazoumana Toure unselfishly squared the ball to him to slot home.
How did the Newcastle players perform against the Spanish side?

It was a night which ended with Newcastle United lifting a trophy, but there was certainly no danger of new head coach Matthias Jaissle getting carried away.
Not after defeating Valencia in his first pre-season friendly in charge at the Mestalla Stadium.
"We will not smash the locker room now and celebrate," he said. "We still have a lot to do."
That was quickly apparent after Newcastle fell behind inside four minutes, following Filip Ugrinic's curling opener.
But Jaissle will have taken heart from his players' response in a feisty contest, not least after forward Anthony Elanga was stretchered off following a bad tackle from Jose Gaya, which earned the Spaniard a red card.

Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez says competition from Mike Penders can only help raise standards as the club prepares for the new Premier League season.
Last season Sanchez, 28, saw off competition from Filip Jorgensen, who is set to join Strasbourg on loan.
But Penders, 21, has returned to Stamford Bridge after spending last season with the French side and will provide fresh competition for the number one shirt.
New manager Xabi Alonso has made it clear that every position in his squad is "open", including in goal, but Sanchez welcomes the challenge.
Asked about the arrival of Penders, Sanchez said: "He is a great young goalie and had a great season at Strasbourg last year.

T he death of young Filipino basketball player Rene Baterbonia at a training camp in June captivated social media users in the Philippines, including a TikTok post falsely claiming that an NBA coach had planned to recruit the 18-year-old for the 2026-27 season. AFP found that the clip had been digitally altered, while the original video was published before Baterbonia's death.
"OKC Thunder coach planned to recruit Rene Baterbonia after seeing his potential during his basketball games," the overlaid Tagalog-language text on a TikTok clip reads.
The post has racked up over 869,000 views since it was published on July 20. It claims Baterbonia "would've been the first pure Filipino to join the NBA".
The TikTok video shows Mark Daigneault, head coach of the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder (OKC Thunder), speaking at a press conference ( archived link).
Daigneault can be heard saying they planned to draft Baterbonia, an 18-year-old college student at Ateneo De Manila University, before he died (archived here and here).

So often, sport moves cyclically. Barely two weeks ago, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury showed in no uncertain terms, through waned performances in faraway lands, that they are at the end. And with that, fans have found themselves firmly at the end of their tethers when it comes to a once-alluring, long-elusive, and now painfully late heavyweight clash. Then this week brings the news that their compatriot, the unbeaten 21-year-old Moses Itauma, will box on home soil in Britain for the chance to become the youngest heavyweight champion since Mike Tyson. It is just the beginning.
In some ways, Itauma's fight with Filip Hrgovic feels like an antithesis to Joshua vs Fury, but either way, it is certainly an antidote.
Moses Itauma, 21, is unbeaten and is about to fight for a world ***** le (Getty)
Joshua and Fury will enter their fight at 36 and 37 years old respectively. Both are former two-time world champions, each well past his peak. Joshua showed this in needing to climb off the canvas twice in the first round against the unknown Kristian Prenga, before stopping the Albanian in round two in Saudi Arabia.
It must be said, however, that Joshua's ability to haul his hulking frame from some desperate nowhere demands admiration, and it felt a physical mirror of his emergence from an emotional oblivion in the last eight months, following the deaths of his teammates in a car crash that "AJ" himself survived.

Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen has given his approval to join Strasbourg on season-long loan move.
The 24-year-old has been targeted by the French side's new manager Hugo Oliveira, who wanted a ball-playing goalkeeper after Mike Penders returned to Stamford Bridge after his own loan stint.
The move highlights how the two clubs, both part of the Clearlake-Boehly ownership group known as BlueCo, are developing players but each move needs the final agreement of those involved.
It is understood Jorgensen is now ready to make the switch to the Ligue 1 club in a bid to play more regularly, after struggling to dislodge Chelsea's first-choice goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
Jorgensen had been training with Chelsea earlier in their pre-season tour but returned to London to resolve his future last week.

Wayne Taylor Racing ended a winning streak of more than two years in IMSA Grand Touring Prototype, winnin the Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix at Road America with the No. 10 Cadillac of Filipe Albuquerque and Ricky Taylor
In a chaotic race (expanded to six hours) Sunday on the Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, road course, Albuquerque and Taylor delivered the team's first win in the top category of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship since Detroit in June 2024. It's WTR's first victory since returning to Cadillac last year.
"Very, very special," Albuquerque said. "This is more than just a win. Super happy with everyone."
Albuquerque took the lead from Jack Aitken in the No. 31 Cadillac with just under 90 minutes remaining and held on through multiple restarts as the race ended under yellow. The No. 5 JDC-Miller MotorSports Porsche 963 of Laurin Heinrich, Kaylen Frederick and Tijmen van der Helm finished second, and WTR 's No. 40 Cadillac of Jordan Taylor and Louis Deletraz finished third.
"Amazing day, it was a full team effort," Ricky Taylor said. "So proud of how the team has stuck with it and kept working towards this sort of result, and just very thankful to Cadillac for sticking with us through all of it. They've always had our back, and they've emphasized how it's one team and that support goes a long way to keeping our confidence because our confidence has been challenged a lot with the lack of results. So, finally getting a win and not just a lucky one. It was a strong performance all day, so we feel like this is something we can build on."

MANILA, July 31 (Reuters) - The Philippine Department of National Defense said on Friday that foreign state-backed academic and cultural exchange programmes needed to be put ‌under greater scrutiny, amid concerns about the influence of Chinese state-linked institutions on ‌local education.
Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro said public scrutiny and institutional transparency regarding foreign state funding in local education were "fundamental duties of national governance" and were necessary to protect both academic integrity and national security.
An investigation published this week by U.S.-based think tank SeaLight identified China's Jinan University as the primary training destination for Chinese-language teachers working in Chinese-Filipino schools in the Philippines. Scholars from the ‌university earlier claimed that the northernmost Philippine province of Batanes belonged to China.
In an article published on Thursday by China's state-run Global Times, Dai Fan, director of the Center for Philippine Studies at Jinan University, said Philippine authorities were stretching the concept of national security too far and were treating Chinese-language education programmes as a security risk without providing sufficient evidence.
But the Philippine defence department said China's National Security Law requires citizens, educational institutions and private organisations to ‌cooperate with state intelligence agencies, raising concerns about the independence of academic exchanges involving Chinese state-linked entities.

Bayern Munich set off for their pre-season tour of Asia on Saturday without several high-profile first-team players.

Bayern have also taken several highly-rated academy prospects, including 16-year-old striker Bastian ***** omo, 16-year-old centre-back Filip Pavic, 19-year-old midfielder Guido Della Rovere, 17-year-old winger Maycon Cardozo and 19-year-old midfielder Felipe Chavez.

Many Bayern Munich youngsters are catching the eye of head coach Vincent Kompany, training regularly with the first team, sealing ambitious loans and closing in on regular appearances in professional football. However, some of these players are just too young for all of that. Erblin Osmani and Filip Pavić, 17 and 16 respectively and both regular starters as part of the U-19s in the 2025-26 season, are two such young players.
Kicker reports, as captured by iMiaSanMia_GER, that both players are set to stay at Bayern, while also providing an update for Wisdom Mike:
Erblin Osmani is set to train with the pros and play for the U19s. Wisdom Mike first needs to find his way back into the team. Filip Pavić is to get a taste of training and can hope for pro minutes during the season if he performs well.
Pavić has been part of the the U-23's preseason under head coach Dante, so perhaps he will get the chance to play professional football in the fourth division of German football at the tender age of 16 if he is not demoted back to the U-19s.
Meanwhile, Mike is a completely different situation altogether. After starting the season in such a promising way and garnering five appearances for the first team, his form trailed off terribly as the season went on before suffering a serious injury late in the season. It is still unclear if he will be fit in time for the end of the transfer window, but one will have to **** ume, after minutes for the U-19s, U-23s and senior team last season, that he has not much to gain from another season playing for the Bayern's youth teams. If he regains his fitness in time, do not be surprised if he leaves the club on loan around transfer deadline day.

A federal judge granted a class-wide preliminary injunction Friday requiring the NCAA to make eligible athletes who graduated high school in 2022 and exhausted their four years of eligibility this spring.
Issued by Judge Charlotte Sweeney in the U.S. District Court of Colorado, the order follows multiple NCAA losses in state courts after athletes challenged the application of an age-based eligibility policy the organization adopted in June.
Colloquially known as the "five-for-five" rule, the change allows athletes five years to play five seasons starting with their full-time enrollment or the season after their 19th birthday, whichever comes first. The new policy eliminates redshirts, giving athletes the chance to play the maximum number of games in any of their eligible seasons without penalty.
But while the five-for-five rule has received support from coaches, the NCAA has recently been subject to legal challenges over its application of the policy. Notably, athletes who graduated high school in 2022 and exhausted their eligibility this year were not allotted fifth years, with the NCAA claiming their presence could "destabilize" rosters.
Dozens of class of 2022 athletes have since been granted injunctive relief in state courts, allowing players such as former New Mexico forward Filip Borovicanin to return for a fifth year. Sweeney's class-wide injunction took it a step forward, opening the door for hundreds — perhaps thousands — of athletes to return for a fifth year across all NCAA-sanctioned sports.

Alexandra Eala denied Leylah Fernandez a chance at a second consecutive ****** le at the Mubadala DC Open. An inspired performance saw the Filipino star send the defending champion packing in straight sets after fending off a comeback attempt.
Fernandez, who has now arrived in Toronto for her home tournament, opened up about how the match unfolded.
Fernandez, who has endured a rather underwhelming season, arrived at the DC Open hoping to successfully defend her ****** le. Ahead of her campaign, the Canadian star said that enjoying her time on the court played a major role in her victory 12 months ago. She made a winning start this year, convincingly dismissing Magda Linette 6-1, 6-4 in the first round. The seventh seed, however, was halted in the next round by Eala. The 21-year-old produced a dominant performance in the opening set, winning 6-2.
"I mean, honestly, Alex has been playing really well. I think the biggest thing is that she's playing with a lot of confidence. She's trusting herself, trusting her shots, her patterns, and a lot of her ****** are going in. So, that's the big difference. I feel like she's progressing well. Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jörgensen (24) could be on his way to join BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg, as reported by Dernières Nouvelles d'Alsace. The Denmark international could be the third Chelsea goalkeeper to join the Alsatians in three seasons, following in the footsteps of Djordje Petrovic and Mike Penders. The outlet understands that Jörgensen is expected to link up with Strasbourg in the next hours after initial talks with Strasbourg head coach Hugo Oliveira.
Oliveira, a former goalkeeping coach turned manager, emphasised the importance of a goalkeeper being heavily involved in build-up play. Jörgensen joined Chelsea from Villarreal two years ago. Those last campaigns, he was mainly Robert Sanchez's understudy at Stamford Bridge. The Sweden-born Denmark international featured 36 times for Chelsea in all competitions.
Dernières Nouvelles d'Alsace understands that a loan move is in the works, but no agreement has been reached yet.
