Sept. 14 (UPI) -- The planned West End revival of Sunday in the Park with George has been delayed to 2028.
Empire Street Productions announced Monday that the musical "will no longer proceed as scheduled" in 2027, with the company to "retain the rights with a view to presenting the production in 2028."
The news follows word that Wicked co-stars Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey have dropped out of the production. Grande announced in August that she "will be taking a step back from visibility" after the conclusion of her Eternal Sunshine tour, with Bailey later confirming he has "decided to also step back" from the revival.
Sunday in the Park with George features music and lyrics by famed composer Stephen Sondheim. The musical, inspired by the Georges Seurat painting A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, debuted on Broadway in 1984 and on West End in 2006.
Marianne Elliot was to direct the West End revival, which was originally scheduled to open at London's Barbican Centre in summer 2027.

Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey's planned reunion will no longer happen after their exits from a new project. The two stars previously appeared together in the blockbuster Wicked franchise, playing Glinda and Prince Fiyero Tigelaar, respectively.
The London revival of the popular musical Sunday in the Park With George has been canceled following Grande and Bailey's exits, according to Variety. The planned 2027 production will no longer proceed as previously thought.
"Empire Street Productions will retain the rights with a view to presenting the production in 2028. Further details will be announced in due course."
The revival was set to take place at London's Barbican Centre next summer. Ariana Grande was supposed to play both Dot and Marie. Bailey was set to star opposite her as George Seurat.
Moving forward, Ariana Grande will be busy with her upcoming The Eternal Sunshine Tour. She will also appear on the big screen in a new movie. The 33-year-old will feature alongside Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller in the comedy Focker-In-Law. It's set to hit theaters on November 25, 2026. Despite her plans to take a break, Grande will appear in the promotional events for the movie.

The Manning brothers may have pulled off their biggest heist yet.
Sure, that's the theme of this year's Manningcast schedule release from Omaha Productions: An Ocean's 11-style heist film, culminating in the reveal of the games they will be calling this coming season (including the Super Bowl), but the biggest heist of all may be what the former NFL stars pulled off onscreen in a 15-minute short film unveiling the schedule.

Despite Pamela Anderson being at the Venice Film Festival for her new film, Place to Be, the actress has also been making the most of her time in Venice with several appearances, including the amfAR Venezia gala, where she received the Award of Courage for her advocacy and charitable work.
Michael Buckner/Dick Clark Productions via Getty Images
And if there is one thread connecting her Venice wardrobe so far, it is colour. Pamela has moved from coral pink to vivid clementine and wisteria, with each look offering a different take on glamour.
Oscar de la Renta has become something of a go-to label for Pamela, and this coral-pink cape-effect gown makes it easy to understand why.
The colour is beautiful on her, but it is the cape that sells this for me. Draped across one shoulder and secured with an embellished floral brooch, it gives a relatively simple gown far more presence.

Mark Wahlberg has opened up about his decision to leave Los Angeles after years of working in Hollywood. The actor moved his family to Las Vegas in 2022 to prioritize his four children and their upbringing. Wahlberg recently explained the decision on The Shop podcast, saying his kids were "getting exposed to a lot" and "getting in a lot of trouble."
Although Wahlberg misses Los Angeles, he believes moving away was the right choice for his family. He said, "The best thing was to say, 'OK, let's put them first. I don't have to be here. I can always come back.'" The actor shares four children with his wife, Rhea Durham. He has previously explained that Las Vegas gives them more freedom to pursue hobbies such as golf, horseback riding, and basketball.
Wahlberg also believes living in Hollywood is no longer necessary to maintain a successful career. He said, "In this day and age, you can self-tape, and you can audition from anywhere." The actor pointed out that productions increasingly shoot outside California, including in countries such as Australia and the UK, making it easier for actors to work without living in LA.
Despite that, Wahlberg has not completely fallen out of love with the city. He said he misses its weather, restaurants, and friends. He hopes to come back and calls it his 'goal.' Wahlberg wants to spend more time there during the summer, saying, "Summertime in California, man, there's nothing better."
Wahlberg continues taking on new projects despite living outside Los Angeles. His next major release is a historical crime thriller, By Any Means, directed by Elegance Bratton. The film stars Wahlberg as infamous mafia hitman Gregory Scarpa, who joins forces with a young Black FBI agent, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, to investigate the murders of civil rights leaders in 1966 Mississippi. It is scheduled to hit theaters on September 4, 2026.

Just weeks after losing her Miss North Carolina USA crown, Brittany Boltinhouse is heading back to the pageant stage.
The 27-year-old dethroned state ******* leholder was announced as Miss Global Honduras 2026 in the pageant's Aug. 31 Instagram post, and now she will represent Honduras at the Miss Global competition in Thailand this October. The announcement marks her first major public step since being stripped of the Miss North Carolina USA ******* le in early August, ending a reign that lasted little more than a month.
"Road to Thailand!" Boltinhouse wrote on Instagram, while unveiling her new sash. She paired the announcement with a Winston Churchill quote echoing "never give in," signaling resilience after weeks of public scrutiny and legal battles.

A day after the news of Dolly Parton's death broke, the president of Dollywood gave an update on the Tennessee theme park. Co-owned by Herschend and Dolly Parton Productions, the theme park welcomes roughly four million guests every season. With Parton's passing, many fans questioned the park's future, and its president has put them all at ease.
On August 26, Dollywood's official Instagram page shared an emotional video from president Eugene Naughton. "This is a really heavy day for all of us here at Dollywood Parks and Resorts," he said. "We've been dealing with the news of our Dreamer in Chief passing, and I want to speak directly to you to make sure you realize that she's alive and well here."
Naughton addressed fans' concerns about any potential changes to the park. He said, "I know a lot of people are concerned that things are going to change without Dolly being present here, and I want to **** ure you that it's not. Just know that we're all going to keep her alive here." Growing emotional, he encouraged fans to keep the legendary country musician's legacy alive in her absence.
"We're all humans, so I ask everyone to just remember that," he said. "And to honor how she would treat others; show kindness. Don't be afraid to love big. Don't be afraid to dream big. Don't be afraid to care more about others because that's exactly what we're going to do. Because that's exactly what she'd want us to do." He concluded the video, saying, "The show must go on."
Fans showed their support for Naughton in the comments. One fan wrote, "Someone give that man a hug. I could see it in his eyes that he was hurting." Another commented, "Oh my goodness my heart breaks for him. He looks so sad," while one mused, "Our hearts are with you, Eugene. And the whole Dollywood family."

HOLLYWOOD, CA - SEPTEMBER 30: Voiceover actor Peter Cullen at the Optimus Prime hand and footprint ceremony held at TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX on September 30, 2014 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Albert L. Ortega/Getty Images)
Peter Cullen, the Canadian voice actor whose deep, measured baritone gave Optimus Prime his voice across four decades of the Transformers franchise, died at his Los Angeles home He was 85. No cause of death was confirmed, and the passing was first reported by TMZ.
His family said in a statement, "Peter Cullen passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family — and held in the hearts of his many friends and countless fans worldwide. His family asks that you honor his remarkable legacy by serving your communities and leading others with compassion, integrity, and loyalty, and always remember: be strong enough to be gentle."
That last phrase — "be strong enough to be gentle" — was the advice Cullen's brother Larry gave him when he auditioned for the role of Optimus Prime in 1984. Cullen based the character's voice on Larry, a Marine veteran, deciding that a true leader's strength should carry warmth rather than aggression. The audition won him the long-running role.
Cullen's animation career began well before Transformers, voicing characters across Pac-Man, Rainbow Brite, Voltron, The Addams Family, and Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers as Monterey Jack, and provided the vocal effects of the Predator in the ep 1987 film of the same name. He was also the voice of Eeyore in Disney's Winnie the Pooh properties for years, a role he described as among his favourites. Disney later turned to Brad Garrett for a couple of 2018 productions, though Cullen remained the character's primary voice elsewhere.

Ever since last week's news that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were planning to move back to the UK for an "extended period" following six years of living in California, the rumour mill has been working overtime.
It's hardly surprising considering how divisive Markle is as a public figure and how the British press has piled on repeatedly when it comes to criticising every move she makes.
Alongside the headline-grabbing news that the couple are returning to the UK after a very public and controversial break with the British royal family, there have been contradictory reports that Markle would be returning to acting.
The main speculation has been that Markle was being considered to join Guy Ritchie's Netflix series The Gentlemen upon her return to England. Australian news outlet News.com.au reported that she had been "offered a role in an upcoming project based in the UK". Variety subsequently reported that this role would be in the planned third season of the series spin-off of Ritchie's 2019 movie of the same name.
The project would make sense, as Markle and Prince Harry's Archewell Productions already has a working relationship with Netflix – with the companies having produced Markle's critically savaged lifestyle show With Love, Meghan, as well as poorly received projects like Harry & Meghan, Polo, and the docuseries Heart of Invictus.

Penelope Cruz seems to have it all, having more than enough talent and beauty to make it in Hollywood. And she has definitely clawed her way up from where she first started. Born in 1974 in Spain, Cruz was already marked as a gifted talent from a very young age. Cruz had a love for ballet dancing, and studied classical ballet for several years. Her decision to do dance is what helped her break into the acting world.
Cruz initially built her reputation as a talented actor in the Spanish film industry, gaining momentum when she starred in the Oscar-winning movie "The Age of Beauty." She starred in yet another Oscar-winning flick with 1999's "Todo Sobre Mi Madre," before deciding to break into Hollywood. To say the transition was successful would be an understatement, her star rising higher with films such as "Vanilla Sky" and "Woman on Top." But her role in "Vicky Christina Barcelona" is what truly made history, with Cruz being the first and only Spanish-born woman to take home an acting Oscar.
Throughout her career, Cruz has netted other Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. She has also continued to be involved in major productions, from 2018's "The ******* assination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story" to 2021's "Official Competition." But despite being immersed in the glamour and luxury of Hollywood for decades, Cruz knows there's more to feeling at peace with yourself than focusing on surface-level things. As such, we thought Cruz's quote was fitting to serve as our quote for the day.

As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle prepare to take up residency again in the U.K. six years after giving up their royal roles, Markle will be serving up her fashion influence and continue running her brand, As Ever.

While millions around the globe are chiming in about what their surprise decision could mean to the modern monarchy, others speculated about how commercial prospects may have played into their decision to relocate with their two children Archie, 7, and Lillibet, 5. Much has happened since Princess Diana and King Charles III's younger son lost his honorary military and royal patronage appointments in 2021.

The prince spelled out his many grievances with his kin in his memoir "Spare," and the pair sounded off in an interview with Oprah Winfrey. Harry has also openly criticized his home country for not providing his family of four with security. As for how that will be handled in a few weeks upon their return, Prime Minister Andy Burnham described that as "a private matter."

Although King Charles III and Queen Camilla were reunited with Harry's two children earlier this month at the monarch's private country estate Highgrove House, Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, were not there. The strained relations between Harry and his brother continue to be scrutinized on social media and in traditional media.

David Haigh, founder and chief executive officer of the independent brand evaluation consultancy firm Brand Finance, said, "My take is they clearly haven't succeeded in America like they thought they would."

Acknowledging how Harry and Markle each have critics and loyalists, Haigh said that Harry is "much more highly regarded in the U.K. than Markle is. And the dynamic will shift much more in his favor."

To that point, the latest YouGov public opinion poll of Harry gives him a 27 percent popularity ranking and Markle an 18 percent rating. But Markle has a track record for boosting designers' sales by wearing their label. She sported 16 Australian labels during a trip Down Under in April. That resulted in a total of $51.6 million in media impact value over a four-day stretch, according to Launchmetrics.

Carolina Herrera, Heidi Merrick, Dior, Valentino, Mackage, Emilia Wickstead, Victoria Beard, Reformation, Jason Wu and Anine Bing are among the many brands that 45-year-old Markle has rotated into her wardrobe. In addition to launching the lifestyle brand As Ever in the spring of last year, the former "Suits" actress and her husband were the executive producers for the documentary "Cookie Queens" about American Girl Scouts' cookie selling.

Last month, she earned an Emmy nomination for her Netflix lifestyle series "With Love, Meghan." In September 2020, the husband-and-wife team's Archewell Productions secured a multiyear deal with Netflix, which was reportedly in the $60 million to $100 million range.

Meghan Markle could make a return to acting after she moves back to the U.K. with Prince Harry and their children, according to reports. Australian outlet News.com.au reported that Meghan has been offered a role in an upcoming project based in Britain.
The family is reported to be returning to the U.K. before the end of August. Their children are enrolled to start school in the country in September, the ******* ociated Press reported.
News.com.au told Sky News that the acting role news came "out of the blue" and was a "surprise."
Apart from a recent cameo in Amazon MGM Studios movie Close Personal Friends, starring Lily Collins and Brie Larson and currently in post-production, Meghan's acting career has been on hold since her last episode of Suits aired in 2018. Meghan played paralegal Rachel Zane in the USA Network legal drama for seven seasons.
A primary project for Meghan in recent years has been the Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, which she hosted and executive-produced. The 2025 series grew out of Meghan and Harry's wider relationship with Netflix. In September 2020, 8 months after stepping back from their duties as senior royals, the couple signed a deal with the streaming service through what would become their production company, Archewell Productions. The deal was widely reported to be worth around $100 million.

Multiple outlets have reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are planning to move back to the UK. Now, a media expert is calling for a reset in their public strategy. The couple has built a portfolio of high-profile projects since leaving royal life, including major Netflix productions and other commercial ventures.
However, some of those efforts have ended sooner than expected. With a potential UK move on the horizon, the expert believes a less controlled and more authentic approach could work in their favor.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are allegedly set to spend an "extended period" in Britain with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The family is expected to establish a private home in the UK while keeping their properties in California and Portugal. They are also reportedly set to remain non-working royals, meaning the move does not signal a return to official royal duties.
Amid the reported move, media expert Sam McAlister has offered the couple some advice. She is known for securing ex-Prince Andrew's BBC Newsnight interview and later working on the Netflix film "Scoop." Now, she believes Harry and Markle could benefit from changing the way they approach their media projects.
Her biggest suggestion is to make their appearances feel less controlled. McAlister told The Royal Observer that audiences increasingly value authenticity. In her view, some of the couple's previous appearances have seemed too carefully arranged. She suggested that more relaxed interviews could help them connect with viewers.

Oprah Winfrey just gave longtime fans a major throwback moment. The television icon made a rare public appearance alongside her longtime partner, Stedman Graham, during a reunion celebrating the legacy of The Oprah Winfrey Show in Chicago. The gathering brought former Harpo Productions employees back together 15 years after Winfrey's groundbreaking daytime talk show aired its final episode in 2011.
The celebration also comes at an especially fitting time. The Oprah Winfrey Show launched nationally in 1986, meaning 2026 marks its 40th anniversary. For Winfrey and Graham, the year carries another milestone: the famously private couple have also been together for approximately four decades.

Amanda Knox's debut Edinburgh Fringe show has opened to mixed reactions, with critics describing it as "sincere" and "painfully unfunny".
The show, ****** led Cartwheel, arrived at the festival as one of this year's most talked‑about productions, attracting criticism from Meredith Kercher's sister ahead of its first performance.
Knox, from the US, was convicted and later acquitted of murdering British student Kercher in Italy in 2007.
Early reviews suggest the show, which Kercher told the BBC focuses on "how the world is unsafe and unfair towards women," is more of a personal, one‑woman piece than conventional stand‑up.
The Guardian awarded it four stars, praising its "spirit of defiance", while The Times only gave it two stars, calling the show "sincere" but "stilted".

Making a docuseries about the inner workings of pro wrestling isn't quite like making a docuseries about traditional sports.
In our traditional definition of sports, no one is 100% certain of the outcome. Yes, there are favorites and underdogs, but there is also an element of unpredictability. Since pro wrestling is scripted entertainment, the participants in the ring know what's going to happen. Kayfabe rules.
Season 3 of WWE: Unreal is already available on Netflix, just six months after the previous installment. While the outcomes might be predetermined, there is still a lot you can't plan for and have to adjust to.
"We kind of have glimpses into slivers of time of what the plan could be, of what's penciled in, and then life happens a lot," showrunner Erik Powers said. "Within this series, we cover what happened with Seth Rollins when he had a match down in Australia, and doing a coast-to-coast flying headbutt, he sustained a major shoulder injury that ended up knocking him out of commission. They had to rip up their story and pull the trigger on a breakup of his faction with Bron Breakker that they didn't have in the near view as a plan."
WWE: Unreal is made in conjunction with Omaha Productions and NFL Films. Senior producer Michael Flynn and his crew have become adept at highlighting the real-life aspects of this performance. Any documentary starts with an idea but may need to pivot quickly as the story unfolds and the people deal with change.

Growing up in the heart of Los Angeles, Zoey Deutch was surrounded by the entertainment industry from an early age, but she has worked hard to establish an identity built on her own talent rather than her family's legacy. With a natural screen presence, sharp comedic timing, and an increasingly diverse filmography, Deutch has emerged as one of Hollywood's most versatile actresses. From independent dramas to romantic comedies and major studio productions, she has consistently demonstrated an ability to move effortlessly between genres while maintaining a distinctive charm that resonates with audiences.
Born into a family deeply connected to film and television, Deutch is the daughter of actress Lea Thompson and director Howard Deutch, while her sister, Madelyn Deutch, has also built a successful career as an actress and writer. Despite these influences, Zoey has always embraced her own creative path. Proud of her Southern California roots, she often speaks fondly of growing up in the San Fernando Valley and appreciates the unique experience of living and working in the same city. Her upbringing extended beyond film sets, however. Surrounded by a wide variety of family pets, she developed an appreciation for animals that she believes helped shape her empathy and understanding of different personalities. Years of training in ballet, jazz, tap, modern dance, and hip-hop also instilled discipline, physical awareness, and confidence that later translated naturally into her performances on screen.
Away from acting, Deutch is known for her enthusiasm for food and cooking. She enjoys experimenting with new flavors and recipes and has often spoken about the pleasure she finds in preparing meals for family and friends. Dinner, in particular, holds a special place in her routine, offering an opportunity to slow down, enjoy meaningful conversations, and connect with the people around her. Whether taking on the challenge of cooking a full holiday feast for the first time or discovering unexpected flavor combinations, she approaches food with the same curiosity and enthusiasm that she brings to her creative work.
Although Deutch is open about many of her interests, she also values maintaining a sense of privacy. She prefers allowing audiences to interpret her films for themselves rather than explaining exactly what they should take away from a performance. This thoughtful approach reflects her broader philosophy of letting the work speak for itself. As her career continues to evolve, Zoey Deutch has established herself as far more than Hollywood royalty by **** ociation. Through dedication, versatility, and an authentic passion for storytelling, she continues to earn recognition on her own merits while building a career that promises to remain one of the most exciting of her generation.
