The Houston Texans received some devastating news a few days ago when they found out that wide receiver Jayden Higgins had torn his ACL during the Texans' joint practice with the Las Vegas Raiders and will be out for the season.
As a rookie, Higgins was a key part of Houston's offense last season. He played in all 17 games, finishing the season with 525 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Head coach DeMeco Ryans reacted to Higgins' injury after the Texans' preseason loss to the Raiders.
"Very unfortunate news with Jayden going down with the torn ACL," Ryans said. "He'll be out for the year here. It hurt. Jayden is a guy I've highlighted. I feel like every time I've gotten up and talked, I've highlighted Jayden Higgins because of the work he's done in OTAs, throughout Training Camp. He was one of our best players, if not arguably the best player on the field when he's been out there. It's a significant loss for us. We have a void to fill there. It won't be easy to fill the void that Jayden is leaving behind."
To address the void the loss of Higgins has left, the Texans signed wide receivers Zay Jones and Sterling Shepard. Jones had minimal action last season, only playing in eight games for the Arizona Cardinals and recording a total of 12 receptions, but he was also sidelined early with a torn Achilles.
Shepard saw a little more action with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, playing in a total of 13 games and starting two of those games.

Even Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans knew Jayden Higgins was in for a special season.
Following Thursday's 22-20 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, Ryans officially confirmed that Higgins suffered a torn ACL in Tuesday's joint practice and would miss the rest of the season. A once-promising second-year player in the passing game now must begin to prepare for the 2027 season.
And replacing him with just one player won't be easy.
"It hurt," Ryans said of losing Higgins. "Jayden is a guy I've highlighted every time I've gotten up & talked because of the work that he's done in OTAs, throughout training camp; he's one of our best players, if not arguably the best player on the field when he's been out there. Pro Bowl TE Darren Waller adds wrinkle to Panthers' offense originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Seven seasons into a run of Carolina Panthers tight ends failing to eclipse a mediocre receiving milestone, general manager Dan Morgan reached out and signed impatient veteran Darren Waller.
Can the former Pro Bowler add an extra offensive wrinkle for quarterback Bryce Young to exploit?
Greg Olsen, who compiled 597 receiving yards in 2019, remains the last organizational tight end to collect at least 500 yards during a season.
Morgan declared last spring during the offseason training activities (OTAs) that he remained confident in the top three returning tight ends after not adding to the room during the NFL Draft or via free agency. Three weeks into training camp, the Panthers' brass reversed course.

Here is everything Houston Texans safety Reed Blankenship said after day 14 of training camp, including how his style of play compares to fellow safety Jalen Pitre, his thoughts on the upcoming joint practice with the Las Vegas Raiders and his experience with the Texans so far.
Question: On how his time with the Texans has been so far
Reed Blankenship: "I think it's been great. I feel like we have a lot of fun. One of my main things coming in here was trying to be a voice on the defense, to be a communicator. I found out really fast, I think it was in OTAs, where it was one play and there was a check. I started checking to something and Azeez [Al-Shaair] was like, 'What's this guy doing?' And then he corrected me, but I'm like, 'Okay, there you have a communicator.' I just want to let him know that I want to be on the same page. We're going to work in unison, but we're going to get everybody lined up. It's been great. It's been fun. There's a lot of different personalities, especially in the defensive back room and I just feel like I can get along with a lot of guys and just keep the vibes high."
Q: On his leadership and communication style
Blankenship: "I've always lived by being a follower before a leader. Obviously, in Philly, I was fortunate enough to be a captain and there were a lot of people before me. I've had [Darius] Slay [Jr.], I had Marcus Epps; I had a lot of these older vets that led the way for me. I just want to sit back and watch how they lead, especially coming to a place like this. Obviously, there are established leaders and stuff, so it would be wrong for me to come in and try to step on people's toes. Obviously, I had success there in Philly. Coming here, I want to bring the same thing, but I'm not going to say, 'Oh, we did this a different way,' or, 'We need to do this because it worked here.' Everything's different. The organizations are different. Players are different. At the end of the day, you just want to be as smooth as possible. As I said, be on the same page. Communicate, be on the same page. At the end of the day, enjoy football and have fun."

When the Dallas Cowboys took the field against the Seattle Seahawks, it would have been hard to imagine Camden Brown leading the team in receiving yards and touchdowns. With veterans like Jonathan Mingo and Marquez Valdes-Scantling on the roster and ahead of him on the depth chart, it was a pleasant surprise. The Cowboys' coaching staff had seen Brown excel during OTAs and training camp, but this was their first chance to see him produce in live game action, and he didn't disappoint.
Brown was Saturday night's player of the game for Dallas, not only for scoring both Cowboys' touchdowns, but for everything else he did on the field as well. His first reception came at the end of the first half, catching a 39-yard bomb off the arm of Sam Howell as part of a two-minute drill, forcing his way to the ball through an interfering defender.
Then, after a quarterback change to Joe Milton at halftime, Brown caught his next two passes. Dallas found themselves behind the sticks thanks to back-to-back penalties on OL Marcus Johnson. The 2nd-and-15 didn't deter, as Milton found Brown for a 21-yard completion. Milton finished his impressive drive with a two-yard toss that Brown reached out and snagged with one hand, his left hand, behind the DB.
He kept the covering cornerbacks on their heels and was able to create separation, ending the game by catching all three of his targets for 62 yards and the two scores.

WESTFIELD – The Colts held a five-player tryout on Saturday, taking a look at an undrafted free agent rookie quarterback, three veteran wide receivers and an undrafted free agent cornerback.
The quarterback in question, Iowa grad Mark Gronowski, played a single season of Power Five football at Iowa in 2025 after winning a pair of FCS Division I national championships in 2022 and 2023 with South Dakota State. Gronowski spent four seasons with the Jackrabbits (including one red shirt campaign) and finished with a 49-6 record – tying the all-time FCS mark for wins by a quarterback. After his 9-4 campaign in Iowa City in 2025, Gronowski's 58 all-time victories make him the winningest quarterback in NCAA history at any level.
The dual-threat quarterback logged 12,049 passing yards and 103 scores through the air to go with 2,312 rushing yards on 515 carries and 53 more touchdowns. In his lone season with the Hawkeyes, Gronowski finished 166-for-262 (63.4%) with 10 passing touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also rushed for 545 yards on 130 attempts and logged 16 more scores.
The Miami Dolphins signed Gronowski soon after the end of the NFL Draft in April, but he was cut just over a week ago from Dolphins training camp. The Colts already have four quarterbacks in training camp – having most recently signed veteran Easton Stick for the No. 4 slot during OTAs as Anthony Richardson Sr. and Riley Leonard compete for the backup job behind starter Daniel Jones.
The Colts also took a look at three journeyman receivers, the most veteran among them Josh Reynolds, who the Rams selected in the fourth round in 2017. In nine NFL seasons, Reynolds has played for six different teams – most recently the Jets, where he appeared in five games (with three starts) last fall, grabbing 11 catches for 101 yards before he was placed on injured reserve for the rest of the season with a hip injury. He appeared in nine games with the Broncos and Jaguars in 2024, finishing with 13 catches for 194 yards and a score. Reynolds started all 17 games in 2023 with the Lions, where he recorded 40 catches for 608 yards and five touchdowns.

Nutrien (NYSE:NTR) held its second-quarter 2026 earnings call on August 6. The headline numbers show a company leaning on its potash strength to offset a ****** pier nitrogen and phosphate picture, while still finding room to raise guidance in one segment and cut spending in another.
Nutrien posted record potash sales volumes in the first half of 2026 and raised the bottom end of its full-year potash sales guidance to a range of 14.2 million to 14.8 million tonnes. Potash generated $658 million in adjusted EBITDA during the quarter, and the company kept controllable cash costs flat year over year while targeting below $60 per tonne for the full year. Automation now covers 53% of ore tonnes mined in the first half, already past the target management set at its 2024 Investor Day. Canpotex is fully committed to third-quarter volumes, and management pointed to a favorable response to its domestic summer fill program.
Beyond the mine, Nutrien trimmed its 2026 capital expenditure guidance by $50 million to a range of $1.95 billion to $2.05 billion, and lifted first-half share repurchases 26% over the prior year, stepping up the pace to roughly $75 million a month in the third quarter. Retail adjusted EBITDA climbed 4% in the first half to $1.24 billion, driven by a 10% jump in proprietary crop nutrients gross margin and sales volumes for certain nutritional products that nearly tenfolded from a year earlier. The company has also generated about $1 billion in gross divestiture proceeds since the fourth quarter of 2024, including roughly $90 million in new agreements since June 2026, and said it received numerous nonbinding bids as it reviews strategic alternatives for its phosphate business.
Nitrogen sales volumes fell from the prior year, with no production from Trinidad or New Madrid, planned maintenance at Carseland, and deferred customer purchases late in the quarter as market volatility picked up. Only about 35% of total nitrogen segment volumes were sold ahead of the onset of the Middle East conflict, leaving more of the book exposed to a choppier pricing environment. Global urea prices dropped in the back half of the second quarter during a seasonal demand lull that geopolitical developments made worse, even as management says trade flow disruptions, production outages, and elevated energy prices firmed up fundamentals again in the third quarter.
Phosphate adjusted EBITDA declined in the quarter because of elevated sulfur costs that Nutrien described as placing unsustainable pressure on producer margins across the industry. Nitrogen segment adjusted EBITDA came in at $635 million for the quarter, and the company still has turnarounds planned at its Lima and Redwater facilities in the third quarter, adding to the operational moving parts already at play from the Carseland work completed earlier in the year.

Former Patriots Quarterback Rips New England Over 'Very Frustrating' Exit originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Joshua Dobbs understands the business side of the NFL better than most players. Still, the veteran quarterback was not pleased with how the New England Patriots handled his departure.
Dobbs, who recently joined the Detroit Lions, publicly criticized his former team Tuesday while discussing his unusual offseason. New England reportedly hoped to trade the veteran backup before eventually releasing him two weeks after the start of free agency. By then, several teams that could have pursued Dobbs already had filled their backup quarterback openings. That left the 31-year-old waiting for another opportunity and without a team during organized activities.
"It was a weird offseason because it was my first time not having OTAs and everything, and that was just by the nature of my situation in New England, with the timing," Dobbs told reporters. "That was very frustrating, the way they handled that."
It was a blunt ****** sment from a player who has experienced nearly every form of roster uncertainty during his NFL career.

Tyler Reddick's quest for the NASCAR Cup Series regular-season championship just took another gut punch — and this time, he took a fellow Toyota driver down with him.
Reddick lost control of his No. 45 23XI Racing Toyota early in Stage 1 of Sunday's Iowa Corn 350 at Iowa Speedway, sliding into Erik Jones and his No. 43 Legacy Motor Club Toyota. The contact ended the days of both drivers far earlier than either could have imagined.
Reddick started fifth after qualifying 133.911 mph on Saturday, while Jones rolled off 10th.
Instead of banking valuable stage points and positioning themselves for strong finishes, both Toyotas were forced out of contention before the race had a chance to develop.
For Reddick, the timing could hardly be worse.

Jordyn Tyson's first NFL training camp started quietly. As of the team's last two practices, the New Orleans Saints' top draft pick is beginning to show why the team selected him No. 8 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Tyson has noticeably increased his involvement over the Saints' last two practices, creating a lot of separation and becoming a more frequent target for Tyler Shough. After spending much of the offseason program on a carefully managed workload, the rookie is starting to look more comfortable within the offense.
Saturday was Tyson's best practice yet. Shough and the rookie connected several times, including a catch along the sideline after Tyson created considerable separation against Quincy Riley. He dragged both feet in bounds to complete the play.
Tyson carried that momentum into Sunday's practice, continuing to generate opportunities with the first-team offense. The growing comfort between him and Shough is an encouraging development after their limited time together during OTAs and mandatory minicamp.
Head coach Kellen Moore has primarily used Tyson from the slot while increasing his workload, but the Saints plan to expose him to more snaps on the outside. Now, as the training wheels come off, Tyson is beginning to provide a glimpse of the playmaking ability New Orleans envisioned when they made him a top-10 pick.

Tyson has noticeably increased his involvement over the Saints' last two practices, creating a lot of separation and becoming a more frequent target for Tyler Shough. After spending much of the offseason program on a carefully managed workload, the rookie is starting to look more comfortable within the offense.

Receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. is back in San Francisco, and back in the number he wore from 2019 through 2023: 19.
Coach Kyle Shanahan explained on Saturday that any contract-driven awkwardness from years past is a non-issue now.
"Deebo's always been one of the closest guys we've been to, just relationship-wise," Shanahan told reporters. "When Deebo went through his contract negotiations, [I'll] try not to put words in his mouth, but I think he thought it'd be advantageous to make it look like there was a little bit of a battle. Sometimes that helps, sometimes it doesn't. . . .
"Those OTAs [in 2022], I was at Deebo's house on the eighth OTA day, and I was talking about how all that was just BS. He came to minicamp. We had a great summer together. I think he signed the first day back at training camp. We got over that in OTAs. That was just stuff from the negotiating periods back in April and stuff. There were stuff, definitely, that made me like, 'What the ******* is going on?' We're not around Deebo. Then we see him in OTAs and we got to talk man-to-man and it was fine as soon as we got with each other."
Shanahan also said that Deebo's return was unrelated to losing receiver Ricky Pearsall for the entire season.

When Las Vegas Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby was asked about the team's defensive offseason additions at the beginning of training camp, he mentioned one player by name: linebacker Quay Walker.
"It was back in OTAs," Crosby replied, "but I was out there doing a walkthrough, and I'm getting in a stance, and we're in the indoor [facility], Quay gave me a call and I just looked back. I looked at him and started just laughing out loud, and I don't even know why. He's like, 'What are you laughing at, bro?' I'm like, 'I've never seen a linebacker that big. I've never played with a linebacker that looks like the size of me.'"
The 6-foot-5, 255-pound defensive lineman was rightfully impressed by the 6-foot-4, 240-pound linebacker's size. According to MockDraftable, Walker's measurements at the 2022 NFL Combine are in the 91st, 61st and 84th percentiles when it comes to height, weight and wingspan (nearly 80 inches), respectively, for the position. It's worth noting that MockDraftable's database goes back to 1999, when linebackers were heavier in the NFL, and 240-plus-pound second-level defenders are a rare breed in today's game.
That change is due to the rise of the passing game in the league, shifting the priority to athletic linebackers who can hold up in coverage. Despite what his size might suggest, the Georgia product is also an elite athlete for the position. He tested very well at the combine to earn a 9.63 out of 10 Relative Athletic Score, highlighted by a 4.52-second 40-yard dash (9.65 RAS), 6.89-second three-cone time (9.29) and 10-foot-2 broad jump (8.69).
For good measure, he also showed off plenty of strength during the pre-draft process by hitting 23 reps on the bench press.

The Detroit Lions announced a pair of roster moves on Tuesday morning.
The Lions announced that it has re-signed Zach Horton, who signed with the Lions as an undrafted free agent in May of 2025. Horton was waived last year in roster cuts, but the Lions signed him to its 2025 practice squad and then to a Reserve/Future contract this past January.
The Lions waived Horton last Friday and signed tight end Anthony Firkser in a corresponding move.
Firkser exited Monday's training camp practice early to be evaluated for injury. Lions head coach Dan Campbell announced on Tuesday morning that Firkser had suffered a fractured fibula. The Lions placed Firkser on injured reserve on Tuesday morning.
Firkser joins rookie receiver Kendrick Law as Lions in injured reserve. Law suffered a season-ending ACL tear during OTAs.

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Jaguars fans and fans across the country.
The Jacksonville Jaguars' turnover luck on defense finally flipped last season. After generating the NFL's third-fewest turnovers from 2020-24 (89), including the fewest in the league in 2024 (9), the Jags ranked second with 31 forced turnovers in 2025. The secondary adopted the moniker "Strapsonville" about halfway through the season. It was quite the debut for defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile and his staff.
"We're being coached to take the ball away," cornerback Jourdan Lewis said after Monday's training camp practice. "High pointing the ball, making sure that the receiver can't make a catch, make a play on the ball in the air. We're being coached to do that. Everything that you see, all the turnovers, everything that we're doing, being ball hungry, that's getting coached."
"And we have the talent to go out there and do it every single week, as you saw last year. When we came out here at OTAs last year, I knew, like, 'Wow, we got some guys that can go take the ball away.' Just like this year. OTAs and training camp, we just have to fine-tune some of our detailed things, but we have the talent to take the ball away."
While I don't disagree with anything Lewis said, it's hard to imagine Jacksonville forcing 30+ turnovers for a second straight season. Linebacker Devin Lloyd accounted for nearly a fifth of the 2025 production with 5 interceptions and 1 fumble recovery; he's now a Carolina Panther. The defense will gain playmaking ability via Travis Hunter, sure, but a 15.6% clip of turnovers per drive will still be difficult to carry over. Such rates tend to fluctuate from year to year.

The Chargers plan to determine their starting left guard in the third week of August, aiming to finalize the position after roughly 10 to 13 more training camp practices, head coach Jim Harbaugh said.
Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel emphasized that the decision will not be rushed, stating that the "wide-open" competition will truly be decided only after evaluating players during live-action, padded practices.
"There's going to be a really fun competition that's just getting underway," McDaniel said. "But really, you can't claim a lead player in that race this early in the process, particularly because that's a job of blocking people, and we really haven't got to the stage of truly blocking someone, which occurs when you have pads on."
While free-agent addition Kayode Awosika took the majority of first-team reps during early non-padded offseason programs and OTAs, the coaching staff has intentionally slowed the evaluation process and added other players to the mix.
Five linemen have cycled through the first-team offense during the first four days of camp, with those being Awosika, rookie Jake Slaughter, Trevor Penning, Trey Pipkins and Branson Taylor.

The Los Angeles Rams could not have expected Davante Adams to have the impact he's had on the franchise when they signed him last offseason. Not only did he lead the NFL in receiving touchdowns, but he also became a mentor and the undisputed leader of the wide receiver room.
Puka Nacua has credited Adams for taking charge and being the ultimate example, while Konata Mumpfield has become sort of an apprentice, rapidly growing his role within the offensive scheme. In 2026, it appears that CJ Daniels has become the latest to seek Adams' advice.
During a recent press conference, Adams told reporters that he's developed a rapport with Daniels during OTAs, helping the rookie with elements of his game that need improvement. Daniels sought Adams' advice before the break before camp.
Davante Adams said rookie CJ Daniels approached him before the break between the offseason program and training camp and asked him what he thought Daniels needed to work on.

Eagles rookie not worried about recent hamstring injury originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
One of the more exciting names to watch on the Philadelphia Eagles this season is their first-round pick from the 2026 NFL Draft, Makai Lemon. The 22-year-old is coming out of his third season at the University of Southern California, one that saw him soar above his previous campaigns, recording 1156 yards and 11 touchdowns across 79 receptions in the Big Ten.
It also helps that Lemon is slated to enter an Eagles offensive scheme that just lost one of its main receiving options, as AJ Brown was traded away shortly after the draft, leaving new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion with the task of finding new options elsewhere.
But all of this hype in the Eagles' rookie took a sharp turn during their OTAs earlier in the offseason, when Lemon suffered from a hamstring injury during the team's OTAs, which caused him to miss some time.
But now that Lemon has been a key part of Philadelphia's preseason training camp, it's safe to say that he is leaning towards the healthier side with his hamstring, something that he recently talked about with the press, expressing that the initial injury wasn't anything to worry about.

Jacksonville Jaguars' running back Chris Rodriguez took part in team drills during Sunday's training camp practice for the first time.
In the first three practices, Rodriguez had only done individual work, ramping up following his return from a foot injury that sidelined him during OTAs and minicamp.
Without Rodriguez, Bhayshul Tuten has shouldered the first-team running back reps and took advantage of those opportunities. Rodriguez and Tuten were expected to compete for the RB1 role, but regardless of who owns that **** le, both backs are expected to play key roles this season.
The addition of Rodriguez this offseason in free agency added another physical presence to the Jacksonville backfield. His ability to make defenders miss can be a real differentiator for him.
Last season, Rodriguez ranked eighth among all running backs in average yards after contact. He would also rank 14th in rush yards over expected per attempt, according to Next Gen Stats.

After a few days of training camp, one undrafted Washington Commanders rookie continues to stand out: wide receiver Jaden Bradley.
This isn't new for Bradley, the 6-foot-3 wideout from UNLV. He stood out during the spring in OTAs and minicamp. That trend has continued early in training camp. Star wide receiver Terry McLaurin was seen mentoring Bradley last week.
McLaurin shared his excitement about the undrafted rookie.
"I think he has a unique skillset where he's a bigger receiver, but he moves very smoothly," McLaurin said. "His releases are very smooth. He's sudden in his releases. He has really good feet at the top. He kind of has a pro-like feel. For him, it's just gonna be about detailing it, splits, timing. When you're running down the field, keeping your shoulder close so you can track the ball over your shoulder. Red zone, it's not as much ***** e, so you gotta hold that defender off so you can give the quarterback more ***** e to throw in that back corner of the end zone. Just little tidbits like that I try to pass along with him, but he's a sponge, man. He's been asking questions since he first got here and obviously he's undrafted."None of this means that Bradley will make the 53-man roster. While much has been made of the Commanders' need for a legit No. 2 receiver, there is great depth at the position. Could Bradley have a strong enough summer to force his way into one of those final spots?
Now, it's head coach Dan Quinn's turn to praise Bradley.

After exiting Friday's training camp practice to be evaluated for injury, presumed starting defensive tackle Alim McNeill has reportedly gotten good news.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, McNeill is believed to be okay after exiting Friday's training camp practice. The Lions were evaluating McNeill for a neck injury.
McNeill, 26, is expected to be one of the Lions' starting defensive tackles, and the hope is that the 6-foot-2, 310-pound defensive lineman can get back to his 2024 form. McNeill had totaled 25 tackles, seven tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks before suffering a torn ACL in his right knee in December of 2024.
Sources: #lions DT Alim McNeill (neck) is believed to be okay after leaving practice early on Friday.
HC Dan Campbell told reporters: “He’s a huge piece for us on defense.” https://t.co/Fjkcq2F9uY pic.twitter.com/yQhQC9xuEt
McNeill would return last season in Week 7 versus Tampa Bay. The 2021 third-round pick admitted that he finally felt like himself again this past June during OTAs.

WESTFIELD – Colts All-Pro left guard Quenton Nelson said he's not been involved in any discussions regarding his expiring contract as the 30-year-old approaches the start of Year 9 in Indianapolis. The former sixth-overall pick from the 2018 draft signed a four-year, $80 million extension a day before the start of the 2022 season.
The deal raised the bar on NFL guard contracts with its $20 million average annual value and $60 million in guaranteed money. Since then, Philadelphia's Landon ****** erson (four years, $84 million), Tampa Bay's Luke Goedeke (four years, $90 million) and Dallas' Tyler Smith (four years, $96 million) have exceeded that deal. On Saturday, multiple reports around the NFL stated that Atlanta guard Matthew Bergeron had joined Smith with a four-year, $96 million deal.
Even as he enters his 30s, Nelson has remained playing at this Pro Bowl and All-Pro stature his entire career, and he remains one of the league's best players at his position – ESPN's poll of execs, coaches and scouts had him voted No. 2 overall entering this season.
Nelson said during OTAs he was leaving talks surrounding his future to his agent and the Colts' front office, noting, "Worrying about it or thinking about it isn't going to help me accomplish any of my goals, so I leave that to them."
Said Nelson on Saturday: "I haven't had any discussions. That's not up to me, and I'm just really thankful to be here. I'm excited to be here, and I love this team, love my teammates."

Since then, Philadelphia's Landon ******* erson (four years, $84 million), Tampa Bay's Luke Goedeke (four years, $90 million) and Dallas' Tyler Smith (four years, $96 million) have exceeded that deal.

Early on, most vibes coming out of the Kansas City Chiefs' training camp at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph have been positive through three full-squad workouts.
One unfortunate exception has been the status of rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane, the sixth overall selection in April's draft. Delane suffered a shoulder injury earlier this summer in organized team activities (OTAs). He was reportedly just cleared for practice as rookies arrived to St. Joseph last week.
Delane has participated in every practice dating to the rookie portion last weekend. He has worn a yellow, non-contact jersey each time.
Speaking after Friday's session, head coach Andy Reid described Delane as in an unusual position of practicing while still recovering from injury.
"He's a tough kid," the coach remarked. "He was a state wrestling champ and all that stuff. Tough kid. He wants to be out there. He wants to do everything. We're not allowing him to use that arm. He's out there playing kind of one-handed. Until he's completely clear, we're going to keep an eye on him."

All offseason, there has been legitimate excitement about New York Jets wide receiver Adonai Mitchell. Now that training camp has arrived, Mitchell possesses an opportunity to prove the attention he's been receiving is warranted. He's being positioned to be the offense's WR2 opposite Garrett Wilson.
Jets general manager Darren Mougey recently spoke with reporters at training camp. Mougey expressed excitement over what Mitchell can be for this offense. The arrow continues pointing up for the ascending wideout.
"I'm excited to see Adonai's continued growth," Mougey responded to a question about Mitchell's potential. "He had a good offseason, a good OTAs. We expect to see that continued growth throughout training camp. I'm excited to watch him and that entire wideout room come together."
Mitchell must sustain this momentum to secure his positioning in the Jets' receiving pecking order. The team also drafted former Indiana wideout Omar Cooper Jr. with a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft. Tight end Kenyon Sadiq was another of Mougey's top-32 selections. There is competition for targets in Frank Reich's offense.
The Jets are pumped about what Mitchell's skill set can add to the offense. Starting quarterback Geno Smith is a gunslinger who will be looking to pepper his favorite targets with opportunities. Mitchell continues to take advantage of his opportunities at training camp.

The Seattle Seahawks returned to the practice field after taking Wednesday off. Thursday marked the first padded practice of training camp, which means the intensity can ramp up and the feel of real football is getting closer. Fans won't get a glimpse of padded reps until Friday, so media-only accounts will have to suffice for today.
Let's go through the notable events from Day 5 of Seahawks training camp!
Deven Eastern returns to practice
Seahawks rookie nose tackle Deven Eastern had been largely absent from mandatory minicamp and OTAs due to injury, and started this year on the PUP list. He passed a physical on Thursday and is all good to go, which means just Nick Emmanwori and Zach Charbonnet are still on PUP.
