UFC president Dana White trashed former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, whom he referred to as a "bad guy."
Ngannou left the UFC in 2023 and has since fought for PFL, MVP MMA, and in professional boxing.
At age 40, Ngannou is not a young man anymore, but he continues to be a feared knockout artist and someone who UFC fans still want to see fight inside the Octagon against the top heavyweights in the world.
Not so fast, however, says White, who says he has zero interest in bringing Ngannou back to the UFC.

The NBA world wants to see Stephen Curry continue contending for championships. Unfortunately for Curry, the Golden State Warriors are not considered competitive in the 2026-27 season. The Warriors retained their core from the previous season and did not add a new star player.

Boston announced Saturday that right-handed reliever Garrett Whitlock was reinstated from the 15-day injured list. He will serve as the club's 27 players for its day-night doubleheader against the New York Yankees. Whitlock had been sidelined since Aug. 10 because of right elbow inflammation. He threw live batting practice Wednesday and came through the session without any issues, clearing the way for his return at Yankee Stadium. The timing could hardly be better for interim manager Chad Tracy.
Boston must cover at least 18 innings Saturday, with Game 1 beginning at 1:05 p.m. ET and the nightcap scheduled for 7:15 p.m. ET. Even the deepest bullpen can be stretched during a doubleheader, especially when the second game comes only a few hours after the first ends. Whitlock gives Tracy another proven late-inning option and reduces the likelihood that one of Boston's lower-leverage relievers will be forced into a critical spot.

ESPN might not want to cover San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York being arrested on prostitution charges, but Shannon Sharpe has no issue with it.
To be clear, Sharpe has no issue covering it, he also has no issue with York allegedly attempting to pay for ******* ual activity. York was arrested Sunday in East Palestine, Ohio and initially charged with engaging in prostitution, but it was later amended to disorderly conduct. The 49ers owners pleaded no contest to the reduced charges after allegedly responding to a prostitution ad, offering to pay $140 for ******* at an Ohio trailer park.
"Ain't nothing wrong with that," Sharpe said with a smirk. "Come on, man. You think the man cause he's worth a billion dollars he don't want to wet his whistle?"
Nightcap co-host Joe Johnson seemed rather disgusted by the thought of a wealthy person going to a trailer park with $140 for ******* . On the contrary, Chad Johnson claimed he was familiar with the area where York allegedly went to receive ******* ual favors, implying he has been there for similar reasons himself. LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Four area high school volleyball teams got their season started in a unique way on Thursday night, playing outdoor matches on Lansing Catholic's football field as part of the first annual "Volleyturf Takeover."
The concept of outdoor volleyball matches has grown in popularity ever since the Nebraska Cornhuskers drew 92,000 people to an outdoor volleyball match at Memorial Stadium in 2023.
Similar events have popped up around the country in recent years, including the "Rally on Reed's" at East Grand Rapids High School in West Michigan.
But Thursday night's event was the first time the concept has been tried in the Lansing area, and strong crowds came out to support two matches, Portland vs. Williamston and DeWitt vs. Lansing Catholic.
Williamston defeated Portland 3-1 in the first match, while Lansing Catholic topped DeWitt _-_ in the nightcap.

The Dallas Cowboys have added a familiar Texas name to their defense, giving their pass rush another veteran presence for the 2026 season. For Von Miller, though, this move means much more than simply joining another NFL roster.
The Cowboys had been on his radar for months, but their first direct contact came much closer to training camp than many would expect.
Miller revealed that Dallas was the first team to contact him about a deal roughly a week before training camp, although the two sides had discussed the possibility earlier in the year.
"They're the first team to contact me like a week before training camp," Miller said on the Nightcap podcast. "There had been some talks about the Cowboys throughout the whole offseason. And it just seemed right for me."

Before Indiana Pacers superstar Tyrese Haliburton tore his Achilles tendon in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals, the point guard was well on his way to becoming a household name. Despite finishing outside the postseason last year, followed by a quiet offseason, the Golden State Warriors won't be left off the NBA's holiday schedule for 2026. For the 14th consecutive time, the Warriors will suit up on Christmas Day in 2026.
On Tuesday morning, the NBA's schedule for Christmas Day 2026 was released with the Warriors featured in the nightcap. The Warriors will open the doors of Chase Center on Christmas evening to host Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. The game is set for 7:30 p.m. PT on Christmas Day.
Christmas Day will also feature a rematch of the NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks, along with the Miami Heat against the Boston Celtics, LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers against his former team the Los Angeles Lakers, Oklahoma City Thunder versus the Minnesota Timberwolves, and lastly, the Nuggets against Steph Curry and the Warriors.

On a scorching summer day in late July, Joplin played host to the Carroll (Iowa) Merchants to finish a recently postponed game and then play a regularly scheduled game Tuesday at Joe Becker Stadium.
The postponed contest was being resumed from June 11, when lightning cut things short in the top of the third inning in Joplin. The Jailbirds held a 3-0 lead to start things Tuesday.

Boston topped the Baltimore Orioles 6-3 at Fenway Park to notch their 15th straight Major League Baseball win.
That tied the club record set in 1946 by a team led by Hall of Famer Ted Williams.
The streak then ended with a 5-1 loss to the Orioles in the nightcap.
"I think everybody knew it was going to end at some point," Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy said.

The Yankees came oh so close to completing another late comeback, only to stall out after Ben Rice’s game-tying three-run homer and eventually lose in extras. They still have a chance to split the doubleheader and win the series as they take the field less than three hours after the final out of Game 1, and they’ll do so as Max Fried makes his long-awaited return from injury.
Max Fried last pitched on May 13th against the Orioles, and had to depart after three innings with noticeably lowered velocity on all his pitches. It was later revealed that he had suffered a bone bruise in his left elbow and was shut down for over a month. He made just one rehab **** ignment start last Friday for the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, allowing two runs on three hits with three strikeouts and no walks on 52 pitches. Rather than make a final rehab start, the doubleheader convinced the Yankees to activate Fried off the IL to start the nightcap, where he will be on a pitch count of around 60. At the time of his injury, Fried was 4-3 in ten starts, with a 3.21 ERA (132 ERA+), 2.71 FIP, and 50 strikeouts in 61.2 innings.
Fried will face off against Pirates rookie Bubba Chandler. The 23-year-old righty isn’t very subtle, mainly trying to blow you away with a four-seamer that averages 99 mph. He backs up that heater with a slider and a changeup. Expect the Yankees to have a patient approach against the pitcher with the highest walk rate (13.1-percent) of any starter in baseball. In 18 starts, Chandler is 3-8 with a 4.77 ERA (92 ERA+), 4.59 FIP, and 85 strikeouts in 94.1 innings.
The Yankees make three changes to the line from the day game. Anthony Volpe replaces José Caballero at shortstop which should ease tensions with this umpiring crew after the incident involving his pitch clock manipulation earlier today. Paul Goldschmidt gets the start at first moving Ben Rice to DH and Spencer Jones to the bench. Ali Sánchez replaces Austin Wells behind the plate.

After a stormy Tuesday kept the tarp on the field at Yankee Stadium, the Pirates (52-49) and the Yankees (56-44) will take the field today twice in the form of a day-night doubleheader. The Yankees sit atop the Wild Card standings and two games behind the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East while the Pirates sit 11 games back of the Brewers in the NL Central and tied for the final Wild Card spot.
As a refresher, New York won the series opener Monday night, 8-5, thanks in large part to a pair of home runs and five runs batted in by Jazz Chisholm Jr.
Game 1 today pits two veteran right-handers Mitch Keller (6-7, 5.14 ERA) and Gerrit Cole (3-5, 3.93 ERA) against one another. Keller has been bad for about the last six weeks allowing 26 earned runs over just 35 innings. In his two July starts he has been even worse allowing eight runs in nine innings. In his last start Keller gave up three home runs. Well, the Yankees hit more home runs than anyone. Cole is beginning to look more like himself following his return from Tommy John surgery in late May. He was special against the Dodgers in his last start…until his last pitch. Max Muncy took him to the second deck in the seventh inning in a 2-1 Yankees loss. In July, Cole has thrown 17.1 innings and allowed seven earned runs, walking two and striking out 21.
The nightcap features a matchup of power arms at very different points of their seasons. Grafton 9, Northborough 1; Grafton 15, Northborough 4: Kellen Caron fanned 10 and allowed one run on five hits over seven innings and C.J. Chagnon was 2 for 4 with a homer and four RBIs to lift visiting Post 92 (14-6) in the first game of a doubleheader sweep against Post 234 (1-20).

WATERTOWN — Even when they’re down, the Watertown Rapids have rarely considered themselves out for most of their challenging season.
Despite blowing an early lead, the Rapids responded by finding a way to finally break through for a victory, winning in their season home finale Friday night.
After the Genesee Rapids won the first game of the day, 9-3, Watertown bounced back to prevail, 10-8, in the nightcap to split a New York Collegiate Baseball League played before a combined crowd of 418, including 250 in the second game, at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.
In the second game, Watertown jumped out to an early 5-1 advantage, only to yield a big inning as Genesee struck for six runs in the fourth.
But Watertown bounced back by generating a decisive inning in the fifth by plating five runs to take the lead for good.

The Brewers were rained out last night! I hope you'll forgive that instead of rewriting an entire new game discussion, I'm just going to (mostly) copy and paste what I wrote before yesterday's game, because both teams are using the same lineups they announced last night.
However, there are two new pieces of information today. The first is minor, and that's that Garrett Stallings has been spotted in Pittsburgh and is presumably the 27th man for today's double header (he should be available in the nightcap). The second is more troubling: Kyle Harrison has been placed on the 15-day injured list with forearm tightness, with Robert Gasser getting recalled to replace him on the roster.
Harrison himself has reiterated what he said a couple days ago: that he's not too worried. Plus, a 15-day stint on the IL right now isn't the worst thing in the world—15 days from July 9th means he could be eligible to return after missing only six games on the other side of the All-Star break, and he wasn't going to pitch this weekend anyway. It sounds like the Brewers already had some sort of plan in this respect:
Hopefully, this is just a precautionary short stint for Harrison. The Brewers have proved remarkably flexible when it comes to replacing their injured starters this season, but if Harrison is lost for a longer period, it would be a real blow.

If Charles Barkley is going to accuse LeBron James of ring chasing, then Shannon Sharpe is going to hit Barkley with the same criticism.
Barkley joined Unfiltered with Ricky Bo and Bill Colarulo on Philadelphia's 97.5 The Fanatic this week to discuss the NBA offseason. And while projecting where James should play next season, Barkley criticized the four-time NBA champion for ring chasing to catch the "imaginary Michael Jordan ghost," saying he should just go back to Cleveland.
Ring chasing has been the most common criticism of James since he spurned Cleveland the first time to team up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami 16 years ago. But Shannon Sharpe believes Barkley is being hypocritical when he calls James out for ring chasing.

Manziel was famously drafted in the first round by the Browns as their next hopeful franchise savior after winning the Heisman Trophy at Texas A&M. But like many Cleveland quarterbacks before and since, his tenure with the franchise was a disaster. He started just eight games across two seasons before being waived by the Browns after a combination of off-field troubles and on-field struggles. Incredibly, he never took another NFL snap, floating around the CFL for a few years before playing in something called Fan Controlled Football.
But even though it’s been so many years, neither side will soon forget what happened between Johnny Manziel and the city of Cleveland. In an interview with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson on their Nightcap show, Manziel said he hopes the Browns go 0-16 every year because of his hard feelings towards the franchise. That drew an exasperated response from ESPN Cleveland host Tony Rizzo.
Although the interview took place last September, Rizzo responded to a clip that recently went viral. And all he did was ask Manziel why he hates the Browns so much after they gave him his opportunity in the NFL.
“What did anyone do for you except root for you to win, and when it went south, ok, that’s how it goes. Ask Baker. But what, did someone hurt him? Is he a jilted lover? Was there an incident where somebody attacked him? Why the hate? Why the hate for the team that drafted you? Why,” Rizzo asked.

On Sunday at Bob Warn Field, the Terre Haute Rex completed a game that was rain-suspended on June 21, beating Lafayette 7-5, and then topped the Aviators 7-3 in a seven-inning Prospect League nightcap.
The day's outcome boosted the Rex's season record to 12-15 overall. Terre Haute is also 2-0 in the second half of the summer wood-bat league's schedule, and holds an early first-place position in the Eastern Conference's Central Division. Lafayette fell to 17-12.
In Sunday's second game, the Rex trailed 2-1 going into the bottom of the fourth inning. They rallied for three runs in the bottom half, thanks to Wally Diaz's solo homer and then teammates Deakin Brinkley and Renn Harper scoring on Lafayette wild pitches for a 4-2 lead.
After the Aviators pulled to with 4-3 in the fifth, Terre Haute added a RBI double by Brinkley in the fifth and Bryson Carpenter's two-run triple in the sixth.
On the mound, Terre Haute's Grant Faris weathered the first 4 2/3 innings, yielding three earned runs while striking out three batters and walking four. Chase Rubenacker and Breyllin Suriel pitched the final 2 1/3 innings scorelessly.

NEW YORK — Even with the Mets beginning Wednesday at 10 games under .500, there was a hopeful crackle in the air at Citi Field.
Francisco Lindor, the Mets' spark plug and leading presence, was set to return from the injured list after two months healing a left calf strain.
But the offshoots of the Mets' 2026 season continued to serve as a vacuum to suck up any positivity that emerges.
In the opening game of a doubleheader against the Cubs, the Mets served up three home runs, including a grand slam to Dansby Swanson, in a 10-3 loss in the opening game. Lindor's return was still ahead in the nightcap.
The fanfare for Lindor's arrival was almost immediately snuffed out as the Mets committed six errors, bobbling away a close game and suffering a 10-5 defeat in the second half of the doubleheader in Flushing.
