When it all comes down to it, we watch sports to chase a feeling.
Numbers are great. Records are great. Historic achievements are great. But in the last three weeks, the Boston Red Sox provided their fanbase with a feeling -- the kind that they'll never forget.
They won game one of their doubleheader on Wednesday to tie the franchise record winning streak, 15 in a row, originally set in 1946. They couldn't take the nightcap, so this 2026 ballclub will go down in history as tied with the bunch from 1946.
But when anyone thinks back on this stretch of play, it won't matter whether the streak was 15 games versus 14 or 16.
