The clues to the run sat in dated interconnect milestones, not in the custom-silicon question that dominated the argument surrounding the stock.
Marvell Technology (MRVL) stock returned 233.5% over the past year, against 21.0% for the S&P 500. The argument that filled those months was custom silicon, and whether the company would keep its lead accelerator program. Its own disclosures before the run pointed somewhere quieter, and that is where the payoff came from.
The Earliest Sign Was A Chip, Not A Forecast
In December 2024, Marvell reported that it had begun shipping the industry's first 1.6T PAM DSP, the part inside the optical modules that carry traffic between AI accelerators, and announced a three-nanometer successor designed to cut optical module power by more than 20%. Those PAM parts sit inside the interconnect portfolio, and connectivity had by then become just as critical as the processors themselves, by the company's own account. At its fiscal Q1 2026 results in May 2025, the last quarterly report filed before the run began, management said shipments were underway at five nanometers and the bigger ramp was still ahead.

New reports indicate that artificial intelligence (AI) lab Anthropic could file its S-1 by the end of the month. Below, I'll detail why Anthropic's public debut carries outsize implications for major backers like Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN), whose growth is intertwined with the start-up's trajectory.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Reports from Bloomberg suggest Anthropic is aiming for an initial public offering (IPO) that matches or exceeds ****** e Exploration Technologies' record raise from earlier this summer. Anthropic has already raised roughly $133 billion to date, most recently in a $65 billion Series H round that valued it at $965 billion. This near-trillion-dollar figure reflects Anthropic's explosive growth, with recent quarterly revenue surpassing $11.5 billion and an annualized run rate approaching $65 billion.
Amazon investors have good reason to monitor the Anthropic offering. Amazon has already invested $13 billion in Anthropic, with commitments for up to an additional $20 billion contingent on commercial milestones.
Beyond simple equity ownership, the partnership between Amazon and Anthropic runs deep through AWS. Anthropic uses Amazon's custom silicon for training and inference, including a massive deployment under Project Rainier that utilizes over 1 million Amazon Trainium chips, complemented by its Graviton processors.

Milestones are usually meant to be celebrated, but this achievement isn't necessarily a positive development. The U.S. government's debt balance has officially exceeded $40 trillion. This massive sum is equal to 124% of the country's gross domestic product (GDP), up from a 62% share in 2006.
What's more, the federal debt burden has more than doubled in a decade. Compared to 20 years ago, it has exploded 376% higher. Within the U.S. budget, more money goes to interest payments now than it does to anything else, except Social Security and Medicare.

Here's what history says all of this borrowing means for the stock market. Investors will want to pay attention.
When President Donald Trump began his second term, he immediately set up the Department of Government Efficiency. This agency, headed by Elon Musk, was tasked with cutting spending and reducing the deficit. But by any measure, it was a complete failure. Even the world's most prominent tech visionary couldn't make a tiny dent in fixing the country's finances.

AstraZeneca PLC (NYSE:AZN) is paying $600 million upfront to secure global rights to Zegfrovy from Dizal Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd, adding another targeted therapy to one of the pharmaceutical industry's largest oncology portfolios. Dizal Pharmaceutical could receive an additional $900 million if specified development, regulatory, and sales milestones are achieved, bringing the agreement's potential value to $1.5 billion. Dizal will also receive tiered royalties on the global sales of Zegfrovy.
Zegfrovy, also known as sunvozertinib, is an oral treatment approved in the United States and China for certain adults with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer with EGFR exon 20 insertion mutations, whose disease has progressed on or after platinum-based chemotherapy. Under the agreement, AstraZeneca (NYSE:AZN) will take responsibility for the treatment's global development and commercialisation.
For AstraZeneca (NYSE:AZN) shareholders, the transaction offers an opportunity to ****** s whether another targeted lung-cancer medicine can reinforce the company's oncology leadership, or whether the price adds further execution risk to an already extensive pipeline.
The agreement strengthens AstraZeneca's (NYSE:AZN) position in a therapeutic area where it already has substantial scientific and commercial experience. The company has built a major lung-cancer business around treatments including Tagrisso, Imfinzi, and Enhertu. That existing infrastructure could help AstraZeneca (NYSE:AZN) introduce Zegfrovy to physicians and patients more efficiently than a smaller developer with a limited global presence.
Zegfrovy also addresses a specific group of patients with EGFR exon 20 insertion mutations, for whom treatment options remain limited. In the Phase III WU-KONG28 trial, Zegfrovy produced median progression-free survival of 10.3 months, compared with 7.5 months for chemotherapy. AstraZeneca (NYSE:AZN) therefore gains an approved medicine supported by late-stage comparative evidence rather than an early experimental ****** et whose clinical viability remains largely unknown.

Right now, there are two companies dominating the artificial intelligence (AI) memory discussion: Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) and Sandisk (NASDAQ: SNDK). ***** ysis of which of these memory specialists deserves a place in your portfolio often centers on the same talking points: soaring demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and flash storage.
What receives far less attention, however, is the architecture of each company's long-term positioning. Examining the lesser-discussed strengths and vulnerabilities of Micron and Sandisk suggests that the smarter choice is not to pick a single winner.

Micron's competitive advantage stems from the company's history of treating memory as a connected system rather than a commodity. While competitors continue chasing density milestones, Micron spent decades refining its DRAM and NAND portfolios so that the two can be co-optimized. This strategy is paying off as AI workloads increasingly demand both ultra-low latency and massive sequential throughput.
While this cross-pollination is not featured in headlines, smart investors understand that this approach allows Micron to prototype hybrid memory solutions faster than pure-play rivals such as Samsung or SK Hynix. As a result, Micron can respond swiftly to shifts in AI model architecture without waiting for its external partners to catch up.

Charlotte Casiraghi, 40, is enjoying an especially memorable year, filled with major milestones and meaningful moments. A lifelong lover of literature, Princess Caroline of Monaco's middle child published her first solo book in January, La fêlure (The Crack, or The Fissure), one of her most ambitious and personal projects to date.
"It should be seen as a journey, a series of variations on a single theme," her publisher said ahead of its release, explaining that readers would encounter "the recurring motif of a fixed idea: if something within us is broken, so much the better."

Crossroads Capital LLC, an investment management firm, published its second-quarter 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. The Fund increased by 11.5% net of fees and expenses during the quarter. Since its founding, the fund has compounded at a net rate of 17.9%. By the end of June 2026, the fund's overall non-delta-adjusted gross and net exposures were 115.0% and 86.9%, respectively. In Q2, the S&P 500 rebounded 14.9%, its best since 2020, as market uncertainty eased. The oil market showed a transition, with Brent crude prices fluctuating. AI and semiconductors thrived, with 25% earnings growth. The quarter underscored a key principle: risk is priced continuously but resolved discontinuously. Small-cap benchmarks hit new highs, though the Magnificent 7 saw modest gains. In Q2, market activity focused on adjustments rather than facts, capitalizing on high option premiums. In addition, please check the Fund's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Crossroads Capital highlighted AST ***** eMobile, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASTS). AST ***** eMobile, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASTS) is a US-based satellite communication company developing a ***** e-based cellular broadband network designed to connect directly to smartphones through its BlueBird satellites. On August 19, 2026, AST ***** eMobile, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASTS) closed at $66.43 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $25.85 billion. AST ***** eMobile, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASTS) posted a one‑month return of 12.25%, while its shares gained 47.69% over the past 52 weeks.
Crossroads Capital stated the following regarding AST ***** eMobile, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASTS) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"AST ***** eMobile, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASTS): Q2 picked up exactly where Q1 left off. As we've stated before, the transition we laid out last quarter—from R&D stage startup to operational scaleup—went from "underway" to "unmistakable" over the last three months. It charged us a toll along the way, however: The BB7 satellite launched on April 19 but was then lost when Blue Origin's New Glenn rocket failed during deployment. The failure was cleanly attributable to Blue Origin, not to AST; it amounted to a ~$125 million write-off (partially covered by launch insurance, and claims have been filed). AST's response on the May call was the right one, citing its 33 satellites (now 42, as of this writing) in advanced stages of production. So, yes, BB7 was a loss, but it's moving on to the next launch.
First-quarter results in May landed with modest revenue from gateways and government milestones, guidance reaffirmed, and. roughly $3.5B of cash. More important, the FCC granted commercial authorization for ***** eMobile service in the United States, covering a network of up to 248 satellites. So the regulatory question for the home market is now answered. Block 1 satellites also set a 98.9 Mbps peak-speed record to unmodified smartphones, with Block 2 expected to nearly double it..."

NVIDIA trades at just 25x forward earnings with 85% revenue growth, making ARM's 127x multiple nearly impossible to justify on fundamentals alone.

AMANDA — Through a set and a half of Tuesday's season opener at Amanda-Clearcreek, Chillicothe's Evelyn Hamman was having her way.
The Cavaliers' senior leader had caused ruckus all night long, routinely finding open spots on the floor while providing several momentum-shifting stops at the net on the defensive end.
But when she gave her team a 16-8 lead midway through the second set with a block, upon landing, she noticed that four of her fingers on her left hand were straight — and one wasn't.

On August 7, **** ured Guaranty (NYSE:AGO) closed out a first half that pushed several core valuation metrics to record territory. Shareholders' equity, adjusted operating shareholders' equity, and adjusted book value per share all hit new highs at quarter-end, while new business production climbed to $152 million in present value of new business production/PVP for the first six months of 2026, up from $103 million a year earlier. That growth came even as the company kept underwriting through credit exposures that haven't gone away.
US public finance alone generated $106 million of PVP in the first half of 2026, more than the entire company produced in the first half of 2025, while insuring $9.6 billion of new issue par across 423 transactions. Global structured finance PVP more than doubled to $35 million from $15 million a year earlier, helped by fund finance deals that typically mature in a few months to a little over two years, letting the company recycle capital faster than in its longer-duration public finance book. The newer annuity reinsurance platform, **** ured Life Re, launched in January, and management says it remains on track to hit its production and income milestones.
Overseas, the company added deals in the UK, Spain, and France, part of a stated push into Europe and Asia Pacific. Second quarter adjusted operating income rose 22% year-over-year to $55 million, or $1.23 per share, helped by loss expense falling to $4 million from $28 million a year earlier. The company also kept returning cash, repurchasing 554,000 shares for $45 million in the quarter and paying $17 million in dividends, with the quarterly dividend per share now at $0.38.
Not everything moved in a straight line. The Brightline transaction was the biggest driver of economic loss development in the quarter, and management said the toll operator continues to face liquidity pressure even as its revenue grows; the exposure hasn't hurt adjusted operating income yet because expected losses haven't exceeded the deferred premium revenue on the policy, but the company said it is still working with Brightline and its other creditors on a resolution.
Thames Water remained a live issue too, though management reported no material change to its loss expectations in the second quarter, and the company is waiting on a new administration to help implement a solution creditors already negotiated with the UK regulator. The alternative investment book, which has delivered a roughly 12% inception-to-date internal rate of return against a 4.3% three-year average yield on the fixed maturity portfolio, took a step back after a $19 million mark-to-market loss tied to a CLO equity fund investment that reports on a one-quarter lag, a reminder of how much a single position can sway quarterly results.

Jordyn Woods and Karl-Anthony Towns have added a wedding ring to a year already filled with major milestones.
The model and designer, 28, and the New York Knicks star, 30, married on Aug. 15 in an outdoor ceremony overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Malibu, California.
White flowers surrounded the couple as they exchanged vows in front of family, friends, Towns' NBA circle and a guest list packed with familiar Hollywood faces.
PEOPLE confirmed that Woods and Towns married at the Malibu ceremony nearly eight months after publicly announcing their engagement. After six years as a couple and an even longer friendship, they left the oceanfront celebration as husband and wife.
Woods walked down the aisle in a custom strapless Danielle Frankel ball gown made from Italian silk wool. The dress featured a draped bodice and full skirt, with hand-cut Chantilly and corded lace appliqués in varying shades of ivory. Page Six described the finished look as Old Hollywood-inspired, highlighting the neck wrap that extended down Woods' back and the lace-trimmed veil that framed the otherwise streamlined silhouette.

Long Cast Advisers, an independent registered investment adviser, released its Q2 2026 investor letter. A copy can be downloaded here. The firm reported strong earnings in the second quarter, with results improving 20%, bringing year-to-date returns to +19%. While performance trailed the Russell 2000 and iShares US MicroCap ETF, it remained well ahead of the iShares SmallCap EAFE (ex-N. Am) ETF. Since inception in 2015, ***** ulative returns stand at 343% (15% CAGR), reflecting the firm's strategy of concentrated, patient investments in small and micro‑cap companies. The firm remains cautious in this environment, emphasizing patience and endurance while avoiding margin and volatility. In addition, please check the firm's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Long Cast Advisers highlighted Pro-Dex, Inc. (NASDAQ:PDEX). Pro-Dex, Inc. (NASDAQ:PDEX) is a global medical device company that designs, develops, manufactures, and sells powered surgical instruments for medical device OEMs. On August 7, 2026, Pro-Dex, Inc. (NASDAQ:PDEX) closed at $65.56 per share. The one-month return of Pro-Dex, Inc. (NASDAQ:PDEX) was 7.88%, and its shares gained 72.87% over the past 52 weeks. Pro-Dex, Inc. (NASDAQ:PDEX) has a market capitalization of $209.32 million.
Long Cast Advisers stated the following regarding Pro-Dex, Inc. (NASDAQ:PDEX) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"In 2Q26, Pro-Dex, Inc. (NASDAQ:PDEX), PESI and MTRX were the largest contributors. The PDEX pitch offered an attempt to quantify the anticipated incremental benefits to operations if Zimmer succeeds with the mBos robot commercialization (a corrected version of the slide is below). The milestones, prices and margins are all derived from public filings and we ***** ume four effectors per system sale, as an informed estimate.
Zimmer's purchase of Monogram last year included "contingent valuation rights" (CVRs) that pay out $3.41 / share in each year from 2028 to 2030 that mBos gross revenues exceed certain hurdles. Based on these estimates, we calculated the number of systems needed to achieve those revenues, and it triangulates to a capital sale in the range of ~$1M per machine, in line with the cost of Stryker's Mako platform. Stryker sold 860 units in its first three years, so the forecast 609 units to trigger the final CVR seems achievable. And even if the timing is wrong or our estimates imprecise, as long as the direction is right - and Zimmer is putting significant resources behind the launch - once the system launches, PDEX could experience an exceptional transformation in operating cash flow that would justify a substantially higher corporate value. This is why it remains a top position."

New York Daily News | Gary Philips: Jazz Chisholm Jr. has lost himself a considerable amount of money in his pending free agency with his downright bad 2026. The Yankee second baseman has managed just a 92 wRC+ with a career high strikeout rate, and of course self-proclaimed that he'd be able to land a 50/50 season in spring training. Jazz hasn't been the only problem with the team's offense of course, but he's been a major contributor — or rather, non-contributor. If nothing else he seems to at least be aware of it, but awareness is different from adjustment.
NJ.com | Adam Zagoria: Tommy John released a very sad public farewell to the Yankee franchise and fanbase over the weekend, as the 83 year old enters hospice care with bladder cancer. Dr. Chris Ahmad, the club's head doctor, penned his own touching open letter to the man on Monday, acknowledging John's place in baseball history and remarkable determination to return to the game despite the shortest of odds.
New York Post | Ethan Spears ($): The Yankees will not have a clear path through the AL without Aaron Judge returning and hitting like we're used to seeing Aaron Judge hit. Cody Bellinger will also likely need to be back, patrolling left field and hitting cleanup. However, the emergence of both George Lombard Jr. and Spencer Jones as potential lineup-lengtheners give the club a couple more options, although relying on rookies — including one with just five games under his belt — to be reliable contributors through their first taste of MLB baseball is a risky endevor.
FanGraphs | Jay Jaffe: Gerrit Cole and Max Scherzer have been contemporaries atop the "best pitchers in baseball" list over the last decade or so, and they mirrored each other in strikeout accomplishments over the weekend. Scherzer fanned the 3,516th victim of his career on Saturday, moving into the top-10 in all of baseball history, and moments later Cole sat down the 1,000th batter as a Yankee, the fastest to do so in pinstripes, needing just 139 games. Both pitchers are closer to their enshrinement in Cooperstown than they are to having lost prospect status, but we can still mark the milestones when they come.

For the first time in a couple of summers, the Oklahoma City Thunder had to recast their complementary pieces. You can't keep the same roster forever. Especially in the NBA. This group experienced that for the first time this offseason as they said goodbye to Lu Dort, Isaiah Joe and Aaron Wiggins.
Getting underneath the dreadful second apron, the Thunder had to make three cost-cutting moves. Out go Dort, Joe and Wiggins. In come seven future second-round picks. Three of OKC's best recent developmental stories head out East. Dort and Wiggins went to the Atlanta Hawks and Joe to the Detroit Pistons.
Even with weighted hearts, don't think anybody was surprised to see the Thunder shake up their role players. When you read out their future team payrolls, think this summer was circled as one where changes were inevitable. And considering how the NBA playoffs ended, it was obvious that all three would likely get moved out as they were phased out of the rotation.
Chet Holmgren was the latest to give his reaction to OKC's cost-cutting summer. The All-NBA talent talked at a USA Basketball Foundation charity event in Southern California. He had a breakout season last year, but his no-show outing in the 2026 Western Conference Finals soured things for a lot of folks.
"It's like losing a family member. That's how the business of this game goes," Holmgren said. "No team, all 17 guys, sticks together forever. But it doesn't make it hurt less when you see guys go. At the same time, I'm excited for them and the opportunity they're going to have in Atlanta. I'm happy for whatever major milestones they reach over there."

Tom Holland has grown from a promising young British actor into one of Hollywood's biggest stars, thanks largely to his portrayal of Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Alongside his blockbuster success, his personal life has frequently attracted public attention, with fans closely following the relationships that have accompanied different stages of his career. While Holland has generally kept his private life out of the spotlight, several reported romances have made headlines over the years before he found lasting happiness with fellow actor Zendaya.
Before achieving international fame, Holland was reportedly linked to childhood friend Elle Lotherington in 2015. As his acting career accelerated, the relationship quietly came to an end. He was later rumored to be dating actress Ella Purnell after the pair were seen together following a BAFTA event in 2017, though neither publicly confirmed a romantic relationship. In 2019, Holland was connected to family friend Olivia Bolton, but the relationship reportedly lasted less than a year before the two decided to remain friends. During the 2020 pandemic, he was also linked to actress Nadia Parkes, with reports suggesting they spent part of the lockdown together before eventually going their separate ways.
The relationship that truly captured public attention began with Zendaya, whom Holland met while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016. For several years, the pair insisted they were simply close friends despite persistent speculation from fans and the media. In 2021, photographs of the two together confirmed that their friendship had developed into a romantic relationship, and they quickly became one of Hollywood's most admired couples. Despite their global fame, Holland and Zendaya have consistently chosen to keep much of their relationship private while supporting one another's careers through premieres, award ceremonies, and public appearances.
Their relationship continued to flourish, with news of their engagement emerging after Zendaya appeared wearing a diamond ring at the Golden Globes in early 2025. The couple later confirmed they had quietly married in a private ceremony attended by close family members, remaining true to their preference for keeping personal milestones away from the public spotlight.
Holland and Zendaya's approach to fame has distinguished them from many celebrity couples. Rather than sharing every aspect of their lives online, they have maintained clear boundaries between their public careers and private relationship. Their mutual respect, support for one another's achievements, and commitment to privacy have made them one of the entertainment industry's most admired partnerships, proving that even in the age of constant social media attention, some love stories can still thrive away from the spotlight.

Harry Kane's future has occasionally been the subject of speculation, with rumors linking him to a potential return to the Premier League or even a move elsewhere in Europe. However, after a sensational campaign with Bayern Munich that saw him lift major trophies, put together one of the greatest goal-scoring seasons in modern football, and firmly establish himself in the Ballon d'Or conversation, there appears to be little reason for the England captain to consider leaving. Former Chelsea ****** istant manager Jody Morris believes Kane is exactly where he should be and made a compelling case for both his future in Munich and his Ballon d'Or credentials.
"I don't see why Harry Kane would want to move. Bayern Munich is an amazing football club. He is in Ballon d'Or conversations while winning trophies. Unless he wanted a new family experience in Spain or wanted to come back to break the Premier League record, those would be the only things to pull him away," Morris told BOYLE Sports, who offer the latest football odds. "The level he performed at last year for Bayern was phenomenal. He never quite hit that same level in the World Cup, although his goal tally was decent. Vincent Kompany has been a great fit for him."
Morris raises valid points. Kane finally achieved what had eluded him for so much of his career by winning major silverware while continuing to produce elite individual numbers. Bayern Munich has given him a platform to compete for every trophy each season, and Kompany's attacking style has allowed Kane to thrive as both a scorer and creator. Unless Kane is motivated by personal milestones such as breaking the Premier League's all-time scoring record or experiencing a different league, there is little sporting incentive to leave.
Morris also believes Kane deserves football's highest individual honor.
"In my opinion, he should win the Ballon d'Or. He had the second-best goal-scoring season in history," said Morris. "How do you not win the Ballon d'Or with those numbers while winning trophies and going deep in a tournament with England?"

Could Charlotte some day serve as the center of the football universe?
On Thursday morning, right before the start of training camp, Tepper Sports & Entertainment rolled out a few exciting milestones for Bank of America Stadium. Not only did the organization solidify a fresh naming rights deal for the venue, but they also released new renderings of their upcoming renovations.
The announcement was celebrated in a "fireside chat" later that evening—and starred team owner David Tepper, Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. And given the development of both the stadium and the city, Goodell hinted at Charlotte playing host to a future Super Bowl.
“I think that’s probably somewhere down the line in the future,” Goodell stated, via Forrest Tucker of WBTV. “As far as the Super Bowl is concerned, there is no question that if this city keeps growing the way that it is it’s certainty Super Bowl quality.”
Goodell also wouldn't rule out bringing the NFL draft to town.
