Barcelona and Hansi Flick face one of the most difficult weeks of their season, with a Champions League clash against PSG and El Clasico on the horizon.
Former Premier League striker Troy Deeney has made a bold prediction ahead of Sunday's El Clasico.
He has insisted that Real Madrid have virtually no chance of defeating Hansi Flick's Barcelona, given the two sides' current form.
As quoted by Mundo Deportivo, Deeney made the comments during an appearance on CBS Sports' Golazo programme.
He questioned Madrid's collective strength and ability to play as a team despite their recent 4-1 victory over Sevilla.

Niclas Füllkrug has been a big success at Werder Bremen since returning on loan from West Ham in the summer, with a brace against SC Paderborn at the weekend taking his tally to seven goals in as many games for the Green-Whites this season.
Given Füllkrug's impressive form, questions are already being asked about Werder's chances of keeping the 33-year-old beyond this season, with sporting managing director Clemens Fritz addressing the topic on the Sky programme "Sky90 – die Fußballdebatte" on Sunday.
"Ultimately, there are three parties involved: West Ham, Niclas and Werder Bremen. And that is, of course, what makes it challenging. With two parties, things are sometimes a little easier," Fritz said.
One positive for Werder is that Füllkrug is happy at the club.
"Niclas feels comfortable in Bremen. He does us an enormous amount of good. Of course, I would be delighted if he stayed with us beyond this season, and I'm sure the whole of Bremen would feel the same. At the moment, however, it's still too early," Fritz added.

Getafe president Angel Torres has confirmed that the club could pursue a deal for Sergio Ramos after holding talks with the defender's representatives.
However, a move for the former Real Madrid captain is not currently a priority.
The Spanish side recently signed Dani Carvajal, and they are keeping the door open to another reunion involving a former Real Madrid star.
Speaking to Radio Nacional de Espana's Tablero Deportivo programme on Sunday, Torres revealed that he had spoken to Rene Ramos, Sergio's brother and agent.
They discussed the possibility of bringing the experienced former Sevilla and Paris Saint-Germain centre-back to Getafe.

New vehicle sales in Indonesia surged by a further 32% year-on-year to 81,756 units in August 2026, up from weak year-earlier sales of 61,771 units, according to wholesale data compiled by the local automotive industry ***** ociation, Gaikindo. The market last month was driven higher by strong demand for trucks and battery electric vehicles (BEVs).
In the first eight months of 2026, the country's vehicle market expanded by 20% to 599,491 units, after declining by 11% to 499,315 units a year earlier, with sales of light passenger vehicles rising by over 13% to 437,374 units, while commercial vehicle sales increased by 42% to 162,117 units, driven by a 54% surge in light- and medium-duty trucks to 131,813 units.
The truck market this year has been supported by government plans to procure vehicles to support the development of rural cooperatives and improve local logistics networks nationwide.
Sales of BEVs almost doubled to 103,300 units year-to-date, up from 53,100 units in the same period a year earlier, driven by Chinese brands and supported by government tax incentives.
GDP growth moderated to 5.3% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, down from a peak of 5.6% in the first quarter, underpinned mainly by strong government spending and investment. Private consumption growth slowed to 5.1% from 5.5%, after the central bank hiked its benchmark interest rate by 100 basis points to 5.75% in the second quarter to support the rupiah and rein in rising inflation. Government spending grew by 16%, down from a peak of 22%, driven by social programmes and rising fuel subsidy costs.

The Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) has hit back at claims the women's programme is a financial drain on the men's game.
WRU women's rugby director Nadine Griffiths said allegations she had read on social media that a region is to be cut because of investment in the women's game were "embarrassing".
And she added the women's game had in fact made money for the governing body.
The Union has had a professional women's programme since the start of 2022 and there are now more than 40 contracted players.
But plans to axe one of the four men's professional regions - most likely Scarlets or Ospreys - has stirred hostility.

The Barcelona youngster is still using crutches and wearing protection on his injured knee, but his latest update shows that rehabilitation is already under way.

Liverpool head into another Premier League test with momentum building, and Virgil van Dijk has made the message clear. Good performances matter, results matter more, but consistency is what separates serious sides from the rest.
After a comeback win over Atletico Madrid in midweek and a 2-0 league victory against Ipswich Town before that, Liverpool now have the chance to make it three wins on the bounce at Anfield against Fulham. The captain is not interested in noise or sentiment. He is focused on standards.
In his programme notes, Van Dijk said: "After an important and, in my opinion, well-deserved win over Atletico Madrid, it is great to be back at Anfield again this afternoon as we return to Premier League action against Fulham.
"I thought the atmosphere on Wednesday night was exceptional, particularly in the second half as we chased the victory.
"I have said many times that we are at our best when everyone is pushing together, and I hope you can see how hard we are all working to give you a team to be proud of."

The leader of Reform UK in Scotland has said a second independence referendum is "a long way off".
The Scottish government last week published its draft independence referendum bill, setting out the details of the proposed question and who would be allowed to vote.
But Malcolm Offord told BBC Radio Scotland's Mornings programme that there would need to be a "groundswell" of support for a fresh poll.
In 2014 Scotland voted against becoming an independent country by 55% to 45%.
Successive UK governments have opposed any further referendums and Downing Street recently said a new vote was "off limits".

Ford is to compete - along with a range of other automotive OEMs - for a significant new UK military vehicle contract. The company is also exploring the potential for vehicle sales to other national armed forces across Europe.
The Financial Times has reported that Ford is among companies interested in competing for the upcoming contract to develop a next generation Light Mobility Vehicle (LMV) for the British Army.
The FT report suggested that Ford is aiming to expand sales of its Ranger pickup trucks for military purposes to the UK and NATO countries across Europe.
Ford of Europe President Jim Baumbick told the FT that there was "a big opportunity" for NATO to develop military-purpose vehicles with car parts that could be shared across allied forces to strengthen crisis-management response capabilities.
The report said that Ford will partner with General Dynamics Land Systems and UK engineering group Ricardo to compete for the UK Ministry of Defence's LMV programme. The LMV programme will replace ageing Land Rover and Pinzgauer military vehicles.

B HODL stock has climbed 67% in a month. It announced buying 1 BTC on Thursday, lifting its treasury to 167.487 BTC.
The company trades on the Aquis Stock Exchange, a small London venue for growth companies. It part-funded the purchase by completing its second at-the-market (ATM) equity programme, with its Capital Deployment Programme covering the rest.
The company paid £57,680, or about $77,772, for the coin. Its average cost sits near $110,129 per Bitcoin, so the treasury stays roughly 29% under water.
Bitcoin (BTC) traded near $77,658 on Thursday, up 0.3% on the day. The coin has gained 22% in a month, so B HODL stock tripled that pace.
Sats per share climbed to 120.16 from 117.77 at the end of April. That number matters because dilution only pays when each share ends up holding more Bitcoin.

Chief selector Ajit Agarkar was absent, but Saikia said there was no controversy behind his non-participation and insisted no discussion took place about his future.
Saikia strongly rejected suggestions of a communication gap between the team management and the Centre of Excellence, particularly after several high-profile injury setbacks.
"Everybody is on the same page. BCCI is working in a very well like a well oiled engine," Saikia told reporters.
"There is proper coordination amongst all the wings of BCCI, whether it is women's teams committees or their technical staff or their coaches, vis-a-vis the COE, vis-a-vis the Indian men's team's coaching staff and the head coach. There is no difficulty in the coordination, everything is moving in the right direction."
However, he admitted that the frequency of injuries remains a major concern and said the board intends to address it through changes to the next Future Tours Programme (FTP).
"The only challenge which we are facing is that there are too many matches in the year and that is why in the next FTP we will do certain things, we will take certain measures."
The proposed changes will particularly affect preparation for tours to SENA countries — South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia.
"We have instructed our FTP persons who will be meeting very soon in various international forums that our FTP should be in such a way it should be scheduled that there is proper rest for the players as well as some kind of acclimatisation or some kind of friendly matches before any major series in SENA countries," Saikia said.
The comments come after India suffered a difficult run in overseas white-ball cricket, losing 0-2 to Ireland in the T20Is before a 1-4 defeat to England in the five-match series. India also lost the ODI series in England 1-2.
Saikia acknowledged India's shortcomings and said the review meeting focused on understanding why the team had struggled.
"We discussed (about) our team performed in England and Ireland and also about what we are going to do about the next one year. The road map has been prepared and we will be doing some exercises so that we have a very good performance in 2027 (ODI) World Cup," he said.
"Yes, we did not do well. We lost matches in Ireland and England, so we wanted to know what the reasons were. We have to do certain soul searching about that

Lando Norris insists he had opportunities to leave McLaren before signing a contract extension with the F1 team.
The reigning world champion, who has been with McLaren for a decade since joining their junior programme, at the weekend signed a new deal with the Woking-based outfit until 2030.
The 26-year-old Briton won his first world championship last year, pipping Max Verstappen and teammate Oscar Piastri to the ******* le, and believes he was rewarded for his loyalty to the team in more difficult years.
That being said, Norris says there were other options on the table.
"There was opportunity of course," Norris told Sky Sports F1. But opportunity that is positive. There's opportunities to gamble at times. I'm a driver that personally I would take one or two tougher years over instant success - as I did a few years ago with McLaren.

Red Bull could be locked in a race against the clock as a massive F1 engine crisis looms that could dominate early discussions at the Italian GP in Monza.
As the technical landscape of the new regulations continues to evolve, the ongoing ADUO debate is emerging as a critical focal point for the sport's leading power unit manufacturers.
At the sharp end of this discussion is Red Bull Powertrains, where the approaching third **** sment window presents a high-stakes operational dilemma dictated entirely by manufacturing realities.
Internal combustion and hybrid powertrain programmes require immense lead times. Component design, dynamometer validation, casting, and precision machining collectively demand lead times in the region of 36 weeks.
Consequently, by the time the FIA conducts its third scheduled evaluation window, Red Bull may find itself boxed into a corner by its own production calendar.

Mumbai/New Delhi: The future of Rohit Sharma and the shape of India's ODI team for the next World Cup cycle are set to dominate discussions when the BCCI's top brass meets in Mumbai on Thursday for a wide-ranging performance review.
While recent defeats in Ireland, England and Sri Lanka will be ***** sed, board officials are understood to be more concerned about the lack of a clearly defined ODI roadmap at a time when preparations for the 2027 World Cup should be taking shape.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, president Mithun Manhas, head coach Gautam Gambhir, chief selector Ajit Agarkar and Centre of Excellence chief VVS Laxman will attend the meeting, with ODI and Test captain Shubman Gill and T20I skipper Shreyas Iyer also expected to be present.
At the centre of the discussions lies the most sensitive issue facing Indian cricket: Rohit's future. Though there is immense respect for the veteran opener's stature and achievements, selectors and members of the team management are increasingly aware of the need to prepare for a post-Rohit era.
According to sources, one option under consideration is to evaluate Rohit's role on a series-by-series basis rather than committing to a long-term plan through the entire World Cup cycle.
"It's very tough on a young captain like Shubman Gill when there is no clear direction. The dressing-room environment in the ODI team hasn't been the best, especially when it comes to dealing with stalwarts," a BCCI source said.
The uncertainty around Rohit reflects a broader concern. Of India's three national teams, the ODI side is regarded as the least settled. Injuries and workload management have prevented selectors from identifying a stable core, leaving several key positions unresolved.
The fast-bowling allrounder's role remains a particular headache. Hardik Pandya continues on a managed workload programme after recurring fitness issues, while Nitish ***** ar Reddy is yet to receive full clearance following rehabilitation.
"Hardik, at the moment, has been cleared to bowl six overs in a day. Reddy is still to clear his fitness tests. The ODI team doesn't have even half of the core ODI team ready. It has to be a joint effort between the CoE and the team management to zero in on players and formulate a roadmap to get them all on the park as soon as possible," the source said.
The review was initially planned after the Ireland and England tours but was postponed because of the subsequent Sri Lanka ***** ignment. It will now cover India's performances across multiple tours, including Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka.
India's 2-0 T20I series defeat in Ireland and the 4-0 drubbing in England raised alarm bells, with the 125-run loss at Nottingham viewed internally as one of the team's poorest performances in recent years. Gill's ODI side also lost the England series 2-1.

Eddie 'the Eagle' Edwards has described the decision to cancel Ski Sunday as a "huge blow" and believes it could harm Britain's progress in winter sports.
The BBC announced on Tuesday that the programme, which was first broadcast in 1978 and aired on Sunday evenings during the winter, had become the latest victim of its cost-saving measures.
Edwards, who appeared on the programme in the 1980s during his rise to fame as Britain's first Olympic ski jumper, told BBC Breakfast: "This is a huge blow.
"For many people it used to be the only programme to watch our winter athletes. It's very, very sad news.
"As soon as that theme tune came on, I used to run as a teenager to the front room to watch Ski Sunday. It kept me going, it made skiing so exciting for me and I absolutely loved it."

On Saturday, ahead of our game against Sunderland, from 12.30pm the RRPC bench will be located outside Entrance B at Gtech Community Stadium so fans can make a personal commitment linked to mental wellbeing and supporting others.
