It's not often that we use "high yield" and "tech stocks" in the same sentence. However, some of the legacy software and consulting companies have joined the league, thanks to the drawdown in their stocks amid "AI-pocalypse" fears. With artificial intelligence (AI) looking to automate coding and back-office tasks, the "man-hours" model that IT services firms rely on could be at risk. Accenture (ACN) is among the names that have been in the penalty box amid fears that AI would cause large-scale business disruption for the sector. However, such fears have eased, and legacy tech companies, which were considered net AI losers, have jumped sharply from their lows. Looking at some specific stocks, Adobe (ADBE) and Salesforce (CRM) have respectively risen 54% and 76% from their 2026 lows, while Accenture has soared 60%.
Despite the rally, Accenture still has a dividend yield of 3.4%, which is well ahead of the S&P 500 Index ($SPX) average. The company has a long history of paying dividends and started paying a semi-annual dividend in 2005, eventually transitioning to quarterly dividends beginning in 2019. It has increased its payouts every year since its initiation, with an impressive annualized growth of 11.1%. Last year, the company raised its quarterly dividend by 10.1% to $1.63 per share.

China's Bu Yunchaokete produced one of the US Open's most surprising results so far on Wednesday, drubbing rising Spanish star Rafael Jodar in straight sets.
Bu, ranked 124th, needed less than two hours to take down 12th-seeded Jodar, 6-2, 6-1, 6-1 in one of the most one-sided scorelines of this year's championships.
A native of Xinjiang, Bu lost in the final round of qualifying, but was granted a spot as a "lucky loser" when Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis withdrew with an injury.
Bu had finished his warmup Tuesday morning ahead of a planned flight that evening when he found out he could play. Now he's in the second round against American Michael Zheng, a two-time US collegiate champion.
"It's nothing you can lose with a lucky loser," Bu said after the match, describing his approach as "enjoy the crowd and enjoy the court and play one of the best players in this year."

Unseeded Bu Yunchaokete made history at the 2026 US Open on Wednesday. He became the first "lucky loser" to beat a top-15 seed at a tennis major in the Open Era, which began in 1968.
The term "lucky loser" represents the player who lost the final qualifying match for the major but still gets added to the field because players in the draw had to withdraw.
Yunchaokete replaced Thanasi Kokkinakis in the tournament and found out only on Tuesday that he would be playing the 12-seeded Rafal Jodar on Wednesday. Kokkinakis withdrew due to an ankle sprain and calf injury suffered at the Cincinnati Masters leading up to the US Open.
Jodar is ranked as the No. 13 men's tennis player in the world entering the tournament, but was not able to build any momentum on Wednesday. Yunchaokete didn't just pull off the upset; he dominated.
The 24-year-old allowed Jodar to win only four games in the match, advancing in straight sets 6-2, 6-1, 6-1.

Opened in 1971 and with a capacity of more than 40,000 fans, the main stage of football in Mato Grosso do Sul is receiving an investment of around R$ 1 million from the CBF to revitalize the pitch.

The US dollar against the ***** anese yen is a pair that I watch all the time. I actually have longer-term buy-and-hold positions in this, but I may be adding to this if we can break to a fresh new high somewhere around 160.33.
This is a market that I have no interest in shorting because of the interest rate differential, but there is a little bit of intervention risk here. For myself, I've been long of this pair for months, so this is an addition to what I already have been doing. For short-term trading, it is a viable potential breakout play. I would keep an eye on that 159.8 level, though. A breakdown below that level could signify some type of shift in momentum.
The Australian dollar is a pair that I'm watching closely. If we can break down below the 0.7130 level, I might start shorting for a small move, maybe down to about 0.71, with a stop loss above 0.7160. This is an interest rate play, and the US dollar, of course, is seeing higher rates, while Australia is as well, but it's a different ratio; it's a different amount. The situation still favors the US dollar as far as that is concerned.
The New Zealand dollar, same story. I either sell a break below the 0.5885 level, or I sell a rally that shows signs of exhaustion near the 0.5915 level. I'll be watching this closely. The interest rate differential still favors the US dollar, and I think the real support is probably closer to the 0.5870 level. So maybe a 20-pip move. If we get a little bit of a rally and signs of exhaustion, that might open up more of like a 40-pip move.

The top pro pitching prospect in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League of New England has been revealed, and he hails from Connecticut.
Wallingford native Shaun Flannery Jr., a 2026 graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall, was selected for the award, according to a Tuesday morning release from the FCBL. Flannery, who is enrolled at UConn and will play baseball there, was the closer for the Norwich Sea Unicorns.
Flannery finished the game in a league-leading 15 of his 17 appearances, ranked second in saves (five) and wound up with a 3-2 record and 3.00 ERA. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound right-hander recorded 22 strikeouts in 21 innings during the regular season, then threw 4 ⅔ innings and yielded a single hit, picking up the win in his lone postseason appearance.
Flannery is the fourth UConn pitcher to get the top FCBL prospect honor, joining Ben Casparius and Reggie Crawford (both 2020), and Garret Garbinski (2025).
It's the second big award for Flannery in recent months. He was also the Founders League Player of the Year as a senior at Choate, where he was 3-0 with 36 strikeouts in 26 innings on the mound and batted .429 with 24 hits, a .549 on-base percentage and a 1.210 slugging percentage.

NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) is investing $3.5 billion in Taiwan-based MediaTek through convertible bonds, taking an existing AI partnership a step further. The two companies plan to work together on local AI computing and AI-powered vehicle platforms, while also bringing Nvidia's accelerated-computing technology into more markets.
The investment comes soon after Nvidia reported another strong quarter and projected roughly 70% revenue growth for fiscal 2028. That outlook suggests management still expects AI demand to grow rather than reach a peak. For NVDA investors, the key question is whether the MediaTek deal will create new demand for Nvidia's technology or is mainly another case of the company using its balance sheet to support the wider AI ecosystem.
The clearest positive is that the MediaTek partnership could expand NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA)'s addressable market beyond traditional data centers. MediaTek has a strong presence in smartphones, consumer electronics, connectivity and automotive chips. Pairing that reach with Nvidia's accelerated-computing technology could help Nvidia bring AI computing to edge devices, PCs and vehicles. The companies also launched the RTX Spark PC chip in June, showing that the relationship goes beyond a financial investment.
The automotive opportunity could be especially important. Nvidia is trying to make its technology a broader computing platform rather than remain mainly a supplier of data-center GPUs. Working with a major chip designer such as MediaTek could give Nvidia another path into AI-powered vehicles and other edge applications.
Investing through convertible bonds also gives Nvidia a strategic benefit. The company is not simply providing MediaTek with capital. It is building a closer financial relationship while potentially gaining equity exposure. If MediaTek's business grows as a result of the partnership, Nvidia could benefit financially while also seeing greater demand for its own technology.

When scientists with the National Center for Wildlife in Saudi Arabia were surveying caves in search of wildlife in 2022 and 2023, they came across something unexpected: seven naturally mummified cheetahs in five caves near the northern city of Arar. The remains were largely intact with well-preserved soft tissue and skeletons.
Now, an ******* ysis of three of the mummies' DNA has revealed something that could help reintroduce cheetahs to the Arabian Peninsula wilderness, researchers say.
Cheetahs once inhabited much of Africa and parts of Asia, but now they are found in only 9% of their historic range. It was previously believed that the Asiatic cheetah, called Acinonyx jubatus venaticus, was the only subspecies ever present in Saudi Arabia. The species is now critically endangered, with a small wild population remaining in Iran. Across the peninsula, cheetahs were deemed locally extinct in the 1970s.
But when the researchers ******* yzed three of the mummies, they found that two of the oldest specimens were genetically closer to the subspecies Acinonyx jubatus hecki, known as the Northwest African cheetah.
The findings, published in January in the journal Communications Earth & Environment, reveal that at least two subspecies of cheetah once roamed the Arabian Peninsula. The discovery could help reintroduction efforts as scientists now know which cheetah lineages once lived in the peninsula and have evidence of their success in the area.

The Cincinnati Reds signed free agent infielder Orlando Arcia to a minor-league contract on Tuesday, Sept. 1, according to the MLB transactions page.
Arcia, who turned 32 last month, has been ******* igned to Triple-A Louisville, the team announced on social media.

As we inch closer and closer to fall (you already took a sip of a Pumpkin Spice something, I know it), we can feel the optimism spreading within the basketball world.
The offseason is full of transactions, moves to improve, and swings to make things … fit. That's the key word. Context, opportunity and how a new acquisition works within what a team does will end up defining how well a transaction ends up being.
It's easy to view moves in a vacuum. Teams need to acquire talent to fit a need, talent needs an opportunity to work, etc. But my curiosity always forces me to dig a little deeper: Maybe adding this player did not address every weakness a team has, but how did it make them stronger? What can teams do with these additions that they could not do last year?

This is less about Klay Thompson returning to All-Star form, less about Klay being Ray Allen to Miami 2.0, and more about the fit between the human, the player and the franchise. It's clear Thompson wants to compete at a high level, and the Heat are always going to work to compete at a high level, especially after cashing in their chips to get Giannis Antetokounmpo. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the other major stock indexes dropped Tuesday, as oil prices and Treasury yields jumped. Meanwhile, Nvidia (NVDA) and Micron Technology (MU) were early losers on the stock market today.
Ahead of Tuesday's open, Dow futures fell 0.5% as S&P 500 futures dropped 0.5%. Nasdaq-100 futures declined 1% in early morning trading.
West Texas Intermediate crude futures jumped more than 2%, to around $87.75 a barrel. The 10-year Treasury yield rose above 4.79%. Bitcoin fell to roughly $77,900.
Among exchange traded funds, the Invesco QQQ (QQQ) was down 1.1%, as the State Street SPDR S&P 500 (SPY) dropped 0.6% before Tuesday's opening bell.

Many different players have been linked with an Anfield switch over the last couple of weeks and, now we're edging closer to the deadline, it's time for Richard Hughes and Andoni Iraola to get locked in and get some deals over the line.
They've now signed four players this summer thanks to Bradley Barcola's recent arrival and, while they've managed to address some major problem areas, there are still a couple of question marks hanging over the heads of some positions.

The Chargers trimmed down their roster from 90 to 53 men on Sunday. After 20 training camp practices and three preseason games, they feel confident that they have the players on their roster to guide them to what could be a season to remember.

We're not in August anymore, but we're still in the midwest in early September for Notre Dame's season opener against the Wisconsin Badgers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. MADISON – The status of Wisconsin's Emerson Mandell and Kevin Heywood has been uncertain for weeks. What's a few more days.
It's likely that it won't be until game day that we learn if the starting right side of the Badgers offensive line will play against No. 5 Notre Dame on Sept. 6 at Lambeau Field.
"There aren't decisions made completely on a lot of guys just yet," UW coach Luke Fickell said Aug. 31 during a weekly news conference at Camp Randall Stadium. "We'll have to figure that thing out as we get closer to game day."
Mandell, a right guard, has been recovering for a foot surgery he had in the spring. Heywood, a right tackle, suffered a lower body injury during the second day of camp and didn't return in a full capacity for the rest of camp.
At the end of camp the two were doing individual work during practice. After the final day of camp Aug. 23, the two were running sprints on the practice field north of the stadium following a team scrimmage.

Although you could argue nothing dramatic has happened since the start of training camp, perhaps that's part of the reason why. The Cowboys have begun folding in their new defensive talent, and the early returns have been promising. The offense has picked up where it left off last season, and getting George Pickens' contract situation relatively settled has helped make that happen. Even Joe Milton has had some eye-opening moments in his bid to be Dak Prescott's backup. They've also had zero major injuries, which is always a win. The Cowboys look like a playoff team, even if feel-good camps and preseasons can sometimes be fool's gold.

The New England Patriots were quite busy over the weekend, making 42 combined transactions to go from previously 91 to 53 players on their active roster. A majority of those moves were expected to happen, but the team of head coach Mike Vrabel nonetheless managed to pull off some minor surprises.
With that in mind, let's take a look at the moves that can be qualified as surprises through the lens of our established winners and losers format. It would be easy to label the 53 men on the active roster as winners and the rest as losers, but every situation is different and the reality much more nuanced than simply asking who is in or out.
QB Behren Morton: With Drake Maye a franchise-caliber player and Tommy DeVito an able and experienced backup, the top of the Patriots' quarterback depth chart was set in stone throughout the summer. The question was whether or not Morton had done enough to warrant being kept as one of the 53 players on the roster. Turns out he had. Despite some shortcomings elsewhere on the team, he made it through cutdown day as QB3 and the projected emergency option on game day.
OT Dametrious Crownover: Shortly before the cutdown deadline at 6 p.m. ET on Sunday, the Patriots made a trade with the Vikings to bring in versatile offensive lineman Walter Rouse, a player capable of lining up at both tackle and guard. And yet, despite his presence, the team decided to keep four pure tackles on the initial 53. Three of those — Will Campbell, Morgan Moses, Caleb Lomu — were set in stone to begin with, but Crownover's position seemed less secure with Rouse in the mix. However, he seemingly had nothing to worry about and done enough over the summer to secure a roster spot in lieu of nominal OT4 Marcus Bryant.
ED Quintayvious Hutchins: The defensive edge had been in the spotlight going back to the offseason, and it remains a question at this point as well. Through the cutdown deadline, however, the Patriots opted to go with four players, Hutchins among them. His inclusion over fellow edges Bradyn Swinson and Jesse Luketa might have come surprisingly, but the seventh-round draft pick has developed nicely over the summer to make the pair expendable.
