NEW YORK (AP) — Michael Douglas, the award-winning actor and producer, recently turned 82. He is a cancer survivor, a recovered addict, a married man, the father and son of actors. He is also an author, who begins his memoir with a message of thanks to his family — past and present and future — for the "sense of immortality."
Immortality.
"Many times my father was asked, 'Kirk, are you jealous of your son?'" he said during a recent interview at a Manhattan hotel, referring to his late father, fellow actor and sometime combatant Kirk Douglas. "And he said, 'Jealous?' This is a sense of immortality, a continuity of generations.'"
Family is how Douglas anchors his legacy and his place in a world he fears is breaking down. But there are other ways to live on past your own time: starring in cultural touchstones like "Fatal Attraction" or "Basic Instinct," or writing a 500-page book that is called "One ****** uva Ride," a famous man's journey from rebellion and coming-of-age, to midlife success and transgression to the inevitable reckoning with mortality and past mistakes.
Publishing on Tuesday, his memoir is framed around the making of some of his most notable movies, including "Basic Instinct," "Fatal Attraction," "Falling Down," "Romancing the Stone" and two films that brought him Oscars: as a producer of best picture winner "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and as star of "Wall Street," when his turn as corporate raider Gordon Gekko brought him the prize for best actor and helped make "Greed is good" a catch phrase for the late 1980s.

Is there anything prettier than a consistently uptrending stock price chart? I'm drawn to these types of charts. I've always thought a consistent uptrend is an indication of strong buying power for a stock. However, while I can tell you if a chart looks like a consistent, methodical trend, it's hard to define it using data, which is necessary to create an indicator. That's why, until now, I've never put numbers behind my theory.
I won't go into the details, but using moving averages over various time frames, I've created a ranking system for stocks with the most consistent uptrends and downtrends over the past three months. Using this ranking system, Docusign (DOCU) is one of the top uptrending stocks. That's a pretty chart, if I do say so myself. When I see a chart like this, I think, why would it stop now?
In this week's article, I'll test my theory with actual numbers and see if DOCU and other stocks like it are good bets, like my instincts have always led me to believe.
For this study, I went back to 2024 and picked the 18th of each month, which corresponds to the end of this week. I used my trend ranking system to find the 30 stocks in the strongest uptrends and the 30 in the most consistent downtrends. Then, I tracked how each group performed over the next month of trading. The table below summarizes the results.
My instincts look correct based on the average returns of the stocks. The top uptrending stocks averaged a return of 2.15% over the next month, while the most consistently downtrending stocks averaged a return of 1.57%. The other stocks averaged 1.84%, falling between the two groups.

With Agentic AI accelerating CPU server chip demand, Wall Street believes Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) is one of the primary beneficiaries taking share. On September 9, Piper Sandler ******* yst David O'Connor initiated coverage on AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) with an Overweight rating and a $600 price target.
Analyst O'Connor estimates revenue for FY26-30 to grow at a 50% CAGR, while earnings per share compound at 65%.
The server-CPU share gain story for AMD is simple, Agentic AI is expected to increase demand for server CPUs. This is because the workloads require continuous control-plane activity, API calls, database queries and tool execution. AMD will benefit from this use based on its high-frequency and general-purpose processors with its Venice portfolio.
Even AMD executives have highlighted that AMD is now transitioning from merely a semiconductor supplier to a provider of rack-scale systems and software. It is also positioning its server CPU portfolio for increased demand from agentic AI workloads.
The company reported second-quarter revenue of $11.5 billion, beating ******* yst estimates. This includes $6.7 billion from data centers, up 107% year-over-year. The segment performance was attributed to EPYC processors and Instinct GPUs.

Comedian and podcast host Bill Maher called out deep-blue California on Monday and said the state's voters would always support a Democrat, even if their policies were failing, as long as President Donald Trump was ******* ociated with the Republican Party.
During an interview on "Club Random" with David Foster, Maher argued that California would never vote for a Republican as long as Trump was involved in the party.
Maher noted Spencer Pratt, a Republican who finished third in Los Angeles' mayoral race and therefore did not advance to the general election, had the instinct that California had a "failed system," and Maher agreed.
"It just shows that, in this state, I guess everywhere, we're so bipartisan now, that we will accept failure, which we plainly have here in California, over voting for the party of Trump," Maher said. "Which, I understand, because he does a lot of things that are I mean, plus, Jesus, I mean, I get a lot of s--- from him for the things I criticize just off the top of my head, vulgar, corrupt, doesn't concede elections, you know, inept at things that sometimes were a good idea to begin with. Bill Maher argued California will never vote for a Republican as long as President Donald Trump is involved in the party, even as failures mount.

Channing Tatum admitted that fatherhood sometimes forced him to drop the superhero act. The actor opened up about vulnerability after premiering Josephine at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The 46-year-old star played a father confronting trauma alongside his young daughter. His character's struggle also pushed Tatum to reflect on his relationship with his daughter, Everly.
PEOPLE reported that Tatum discussed fatherhood during a TIFF Q&A. He played Damien, a father trying to help his eight-year-old daughter after a traumatic event. Damien encouraged his daughter to learn self-defense while his wife, Claire, took another approach. The role apparently mirrored Tatum's own instinct to protect Everly from life's harder moments.
"It's a really tough thing to tell the little being that you love more than anything," Tatum said during the Q&A. He admitted he once told Everly, "I'm just not okay right now." The actor explained that parents often want children to see them as invincible. "You always wanna be like the strongest person, like the Superman in their life," he said. "Sometimes you just can't."
Tatum shares Everly with ex-wife Jenna Dewan. The former couple welcomed her in 2013 before separating in 2018. He had also recently reflected on how quickly Everly grew up. During a January appearance on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, Tatum described returning from a two-week press trip.

A dress worn by Princess Diana dubbed her "revenge dress" is being put up for auction.
The late Princess of Wales wore the strapless black silk evening dress to a party in London hours after her then-estranged husband Prince Charles admitted to committing adultery during their marriage.
Her dramatic arrival at the Serpentine Gallery in 1994 in the outfit became an iconic pop-culture moment.
Auction house Sotheby's expects the dress to sell for up to £220,000 ($300,000) when it goes under the hammer on 9 December - the first time it has been up for auction since 1997, when the princess sold 79 of her dresses just months before her death to raise money for charities.
Morgane Halimi, Sotheby's Global Head of Handbags and Fashion, said in a statement that Princess Diana "understood instinctively" that fashion can be a language in its own right.

On August 31, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD), Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), and Humain announced that their joint AI infrastructure buildout in Saudi Arabia is officially live. The deployment links AMD's Instinct MI355X GPUs and EPYC CPUs directly with Cisco's Silicon One-based 800G switches, giving Humain a foundation to offer GPU-as-a-service across the Middle East. Beyond this immediate launch, the trio plans to deploy up to 250 MW of capacity powered by next-gen AMD MI400 Series GPUs starting in 2027, staying on track for a massive 1 GW platform by 2030.
The milestone highlights how compute and networking have fused into a single market. But financially, AMD and Cisco present two very different investment profiles.
Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD)'s Q2 2026 results demonstrated massive top-line expansion, driven almost entirely by data center demand. Revenue surged 50% year-over-year to $11.5 billion, while non-GAAP EPS rose 82% to $1.66. Its Data Center segment alone more than doubled to $6.7 billion (+107% YoY), accounting for 58% of total revenue as EPYC server chips and Instinct GPUs continue to gain enterprise traction.
Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO)'s Q4 and full-year FY2026 report reflected a mature cash-flow powerhouse capturing an architectural transition. Q4 revenue grew 18% YoY to a record $17.3 billion, pushing full-year revenue up 12% to $63.3 billion. Non-GAAP EPS for Q4 reached $1.22 (+23%), with FY2026 non-GAAP EPS hitting $4.33. Cisco logged $9.3 billion in AI infrastructure orders for the fiscal year (up 4.5x YoY) and maintained a non-GAAP operating margin of 35.9%, generating $14.2 billion in annual operating cash flow.
While AMD clearly leads on top-line growth velocity, Cisco holds the upper hand in raw profitability, structural gross margins (66.3%), and shareholder return via capital repurchases and dividends.

Let's just get this out of the way: Mark Wahlberg is as A-list as it gets. He broke out in 1997's "Boogie Nights," and in the nearly three decades since, he's built one of the highest-wattage careers in Hollywood: two Academy Award nominations, a Golden Globe nod for "The Fighter," multiple Emmy nominations as a producer (HBO's "Entourage" among them), and a filmography that spans crime dramas, comedies, and action blockbusters. Right now, he's back on screen in "By Any Means," a manhunt thriller set during the 1966 Mississippi civil rights killings.
He's also signaling where he's increasingly turning his attention. Wahlberg will sit down with Bruce K. Lee, Founder and CEO of Keebeck Wealth Management, on the main stage at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 to talk about his own progression. Grab your ticket here so you don't miss a moment of this session and Disrupt 2026. Ticket prices increase on September 25.
His acting career is really just part of the picture. Over the past two decades, Wahlberg has built a production company, a restaurant chain, apparel and fitness ventures, a slate of angel investments, and the now 25-year-old Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation, which supports inner-city kids and teens. He's used his Hollywood success to launch big projects well outside the movie business — and in a fireside chat at this year's Disrupt, he's going to give us a peek into how.
Wahlberg, who's leaned almost entirely on entrepreneurial instinct about people, culture, products, and markets, is now someone who's been building institutional-level investing discipline, with Lee as his guide, and with a growing focus on healthcare and wellness startups. It's a rare, unvarnished look at how someone with Wahlberg's cultural intelligence has worked his way into some of the most sophisticated rooms in business and finance.

Losing a CDL medical card ends a driving career but does not automatically qualify a truck driver for Social Security Disability Insurance.
At 61, SSA rules treat trucking skills as non-transferable to other work, making disability approval significantly more achievable than at younger ages.
Starting reduced retirement benefits at 62 during a pending SSDI claim provides income but slightly reduces the final disability benefit amount.
Many financial professionals are salespeople paid on what they push, not whether you end up wealthier. A fiduciary is the opposite. The SEC legally requires them to put your interests first. Advisor.com's free matching tool pairs you with vetted fiduciaries from major national firms, all in under three minutes. See who you match with today.
He walks into a clinic for the physical he has passed for decades and walks out without the medical certificate that keeps him behind the wheel. At 61, after more than 30 years driving trucks, the paycheck can stop almost overnight. His first instinct is understandable: if a medical condition means he can no longer do the only job he has known, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) should follow.

Sharon Stone has revealed her experiences after a 2001 near-fatal stroke.
The "Basic Instinct" star said that she saw orbs of light that seemed to share premonitions.
Stone opened up about the unusual visions she had following her near-death experience. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, the actress revealed in Mayim Bialik's "Breakdown" that she was seeing "orbs" that seemed to talk to her.
She said, "When I was laying on the couch, sleeping and awake, these orbs sort of presented themselves to me. These five orbs presented themselves to me and they sort of talked to me, but in a digital language."
"I just kept saying to them, 'I don't know if I'm supposed to stay here or if I'm supposed to die,'" she said. She continued, "And they said, 'You're supposed to stay.' And I said, 'I can only stay if two of you will stay with my son. Because I don't want him to be alone, and I think he's gonna get taken from me."

Marine pilots moving from the newly retired Harrier to the F-35 must unlearn old instincts.
The F-35 eases much of the physical work of flying, but gives pilots far more data to manage.
Former Harrier pilots say breaking those patterns takes repeated simulator training and practice.
The first time a former Marine Harrier pilot brings an F-35 fighter jet in to land on the deck of an amphibious warship, skills honed by hundreds of hours in the old jet might work against them in the new Lightning II.
The AV-8B Harrier, the Marine Corps' short take-off and vertical-landing fighter, saw its pilots carefully manage three different controls — one to control direction, an engine throttle, and a nozzle lever that directed engine thrust, allowing the aircraft to hover.

Saturday evening brought big news: Vikings legend Harrison Smith, who never officially announced his retirement, is coming back for a 15th season with the franchise that drafted him in the first round back in 2012.
The fan reaction to that news has been almost entirely positive. Smith is an all-time great who has played at a high level across several different eras of Vikings football. About a month into this season, he'll pass Carl Eller and Fred ****** to move into third on the franchise's games played leaderboard, trailing only Jim Marshall and Mick Tingelhoff. He's an obvious Ring of Honor lock with a real chance to end up in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
And Smith's return isn't just about legacy. With his experience and instincts and communication abilities in Brian Flores' check-heavy defense, Smith is a big addition to the Vikings' roster right now, even at 37 years old. He can clearly still play, as we saw in his dominant performance against the Lions last Christmas Day.
Amidst the excitement, there have been a few Vikings fans who have pushed back. Their specific complaints have to do with the contract the team gave Smith for his 15th season. It's a one-year, $12.25 million deal that has incentives up to $16.25 million if Minnesota wins the Super Bowl. For some, that price tag is too steep for a 37-year-old safety.
There were enough of those tweets that a former longtime teammate of Smith's took notice. Anthony Barr, a first-round pick two years after Smith who played alongside him for nine seasons, took to X/Twitter to put those fans on blast late on Saturday night after a couple posts about his UCLA Bruins' Week 1 win over Cal.

When Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) announced its Anthropic partnership in late July, two commitments stood out. Anthropic agreed to deploy up to 2 gigawatts of AMD Instinct MI450 series graphics processing units (GPUs), with deployment of the first gigawatt set to begin in the first half of 2027. And AMD committed to invest up to $5 billion in the artificial intelligence (AI) company behind the Claude models.
The second commitment is about to get easier to measure. Anthropic plans to publish its initial public offering (IPO) prospectus after the Labor Day holiday on Monday, with a listing as soon as late September or early October, The Information reported late last month.

Cathie Wood appears to have made a sharp choice inside the same AI trade. ARK Invest's August 28 transaction disclosure showed sales of 156,286 shares of Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) and purchases of 243,707 shares of NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA). Based on the August 28 closing prices, the moves were worth an estimated $72.8 million and $53.0 million, respectively. ARK also bought Broadcom, making the message look less like a retreat from AI chips than a reordering of which suppliers offer the best risk-adjusted exposure.
The bull case for the switch is execution. NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) reported quarterly revenue of $96.2 billion, including $89 billion from its data-center business. Its scale, software ecosystem, and ability to sell complete systems give it a clearer path to monetizing every new cluster. Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) is growing rapidly from a smaller base, with second-quarter revenue up 50% and data-center revenue up 107%, but it still has to convert product momentum into durable share gains against a rival that sets much of the market's pace.
That does not make AMD the obvious loser. Its Instinct accelerators and EPYC server processors give customers a credible second source, while hyperscalers have strong incentives to prevent one vendor from controlling their economics. If AMD keeps improving its software and wins larger deployments, its smaller revenue base could produce more upside. Nvidia's strength also creates its own bear case: enormous expectations, customer concentration, export restrictions, and the risk that buyers increasingly favor custom silicon can punish even excellent results.
ARK's filing does not disclose its rationale. The same-day trade reduced AMD exposure and increased Nvidia exposure, but it does not mean AMD's thesis has broken. Hedge-fund holder counts rose for both names. At the end of Q2, 164 hedge funds owned AMD, up from 134 one quarter earlier, while Nvidia ownership rose to 285 funds from 275. Marshall Wace increased its AMD common-share position 3% to 3.9 million shares, and Fisher **** et Management raised its Nvidia stake 3% to 90.9 million shares.
AMD's reported short positioning was not exceptionally high. As of the August 14 settlement date, 40.1 million shares were sold short, equal to 2.47% of the float and 1.5 days of average trading volume. The trade is striking, but the fuller picture is a two-winner market: Nvidia offers the cleaner execution story, while AMD offers the more demanding and potentially more explosive share-gain story.

Billionaire Stanley Druckenmiller made two very different-looking AI purchases in the second quarter that share one underlying thesis. Duquesne Family Office increased its Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) position by 1,083% to 541,600 shares and opened a 72,900-share stake in Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD). One company rents computing capacity through AWS; the other supplies accelerators and server processors. Together, the positions give Duquesne exposure to an AI infrastructure platform and a credible alternative chip supplier, although the filing does not disclose Druckenmiller's rationale.
Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) offers the demand platform. AWS revenue grew 36.7% in the second quarter, while Amazon's capital-spending trajectory approached roughly $220 billion. The bull case is that its cloud customer relationships, custom silicon, and enormous infrastructure base let it capture AI usage across models and chips. The bear case is that depreciation, power, and construction costs arrive before utilization. Even strong cloud growth must eventually produce returns on a spending program larger than many national economies.
Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) offers more direct operating leverage. Its data-center revenue more than doubled, and customers want an alternative to Nvidia for accelerators and CPUs. If AMD's software improves and hyperscalers deploy Instinct at scale, revenue can grow faster than the broader infrastructure market. Yet it must compete against an entrenched platform while also funding an aggressive roadmap. A second-source narrative is valuable, but only sustained deployments turn it into durable margins.
The common exposure works because Amazon can profit from rising AI consumption regardless of which merchant chip gains share, while AMD can benefit if that consumption creates room for multiple suppliers. The risks also interact. Amazon's own chips could limit AMD's opportunity, and slower cloud utilization would pressure both the buyer of infrastructure and the seller of processors. Both positions could benefit if the market grows faster than those internal conflicts.
Hedge funds moved in the same direction. Amazon ownership rose to 369 funds in the second quarter from 353, while AMD ownership jumped to 164 from 134. Arrowstreet Capital increased its Amazon position 24% to 40.3 million shares, and Marshall Wace raised its AMD common-share stake 3% to 3.9 million shares. As of August 14, 40.1 million AMD shares were sold short, equal to 2.47% of the float and 1.5 days of trading volume. The modest short-interest snapshot shows limited reported short positioning in AMD; it does not resolve whether AMD can capture enough of the spending Amazon is helping unleash.

The Los Angeles Lakers experienced a major roster overhaul this summer, replacing LeBron James, Rui Hachimura, and Marcus Smart (among others) with Walker Kessler, Collin **** ton, Quentin Grimes, Kevon Looney, and Sandro Mamukelashvili.
Among the losses, however, backup forward Jarred Vanderbilt was not included, setting the stage for his fourth straight full season with the Purple and Gold. As much as the Lakers have tried to trade Vanderbilt, no teams have answered the call, forcing head coach JJ Redick to begrudgingly accept Vando's return for at least some of the 2026-27 campaign.
"The Lakers have been trying to find a taker for Vanderbilt, but no one has been eager to take on his contract," wrote Heavy's Sean Deveney. "It's possible the Lakers will use him in their rotation, much to JJ Redick's chagrin, and attempt to trade him during the season."
Vanderbilt, 27, was on three different teams before being sent to the Lakers in 2023. Known primarily as a wing defender, he seems like the ideal fit on paper for a Lakers team that has struggled to contain perimeter shooters. With a modest career stat line of 5.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.4 **** ists, 1.0 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game on 54.6% shooting from the field, Vanderbilt has never played a huge role on his teams, but he provides a spark off the bench as a 6'8″ athlete with natural defensive instincts.
Unfortunately, Vanderbilt's flaws as a shooter and scorer have kept him on the fringe of JJ Redick's rotation. With an average of 1.5 three-point attempts on 29.3% shooting per game, he failed to fulfill his role as a three-and-d wing, which made him virtually unplayable in the postseason. Without the confidence or ability to stretch the floor, Vanderbilt becomes more of a liability than anything else. If not for injuries, he might have played significantly less throughout the season, revealing just how much the Lakers value his impact.

I keep hearing people say they want to own Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) stock but are waiting for a better price, and I understand the instinct, because the stock has swung between $297.38 to $498.83 over the past year. The problem is that Tesla is already 30% off its high while deliveries grew 25% and energy storage jumped 40%, so the discount everyone is waiting for may already be here.

Tesla is down roughly 17% over the past four weeks, and I think that pullback is the entry point rather than a reason to wait for a deeper one.
Tesla trades today roughly 25% below its 52-week high, and about 23% above its 52-week low. Over the past 12 months, the stock has risen by 9.5%, meaning a year of operational progress has produced half the average price appreciation of the S&P 500, which is up by about 19%. Tesla's forward price-to-earnings ratio sits near 207, with a trailing multiple of about 340, so ***** ody is buying the stock based on its current earnings math. If you're buying it at all, you're doing so based on your view of what the company is building.

Kristen Stewart has spent much of her life in front of cameras, yet fame has never made performing feel completely ordinary to her. Acting requires someone to become another person while an audience watches, an experience Stewart has described as inherently strange. Public appearances can bring a similar sense of discomfort, but one area where she has developed a distinctive identity is fashion. Rather than treating clothes as a carefully calculated part of celebrity life, Stewart prefers to trust her instincts. That approach has helped make her style recognizable both on the red carpet and on screen.
Stewart's relationship with fashion has also been shaped by her long ****** ociation with Chanel. Although glamorous gowns and designer looks frequently accompany major premieres and events, she does not believe every outfit needs to be worn simply because it appears fashionable. If something feels wrong, she would rather change direction. For Stewart, discomfort can become visible, so confidence comes from choosing clothing that feels authentic. Her willingness to mix elegance with a more relaxed personal style has become part of her public image.
That philosophy took on a different meaning when Stewart played Princess Diana in Pablo Larraín's 2021 film Spencer. The movie imagines Diana during a tense Christmas gathering with the British royal family as she struggles with her marriage and the expectations surrounding her position. Stewart found that the costumes were far more than beautiful recreations of royal fashion. They helped establish the emotional reality of the character and provided another way to understand the pressure Diana experienced.
Stewart described Diana's clothing as capable of communicating dramatically different emotions. At certain moments, an outfit could feel restrictive, almost like a form of confinement. At others, the same world of carefully chosen clothing could provide confidence and strength. Through research, Stewart noticed how Diana's personality could remain visible even when she appeared uncomfortable with what she was wearing. Instead of disappearing beneath the clothes, Diana could project an unmistakable energy through them. That observation became useful for Stewart as she searched for a believable interpretation rather than simply attempting an imitation.
Stewart and Diana both experienced extraordinary levels of public attention, but Stewart has resisted easy comparisons between their lives. What connects them more meaningfully in Spencer is the importance of individuality under intense scrutiny. For Stewart, clothing became one of several tools for exploring that conflict. Her instinctive approach to personal fashion may reject anything that feels unnatural, but acting sometimes requires exactly the opposite. An uncomfortable costume can reveal something essential about a character, turning fashion from decoration into a powerful part of storytelling.

Tiger Global Management made a dramatic-looking second-quarter rotation within AI. Its August 14 filing showed the fund cutting Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL) by 45.4%, from 10.63 million shares to 5.81 million, while opening a position in Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD). The trade shifts some exposure from a giant platform funding AI infrastructure to a chip supplier seeking share within it. Yet Alphabet remained a large holding, so this is better understood as rebalancing than abandonment.
A financial ****** yst presenting a chart of insurance solutions to a boardroom.
Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL) still has a formidable bull case. Google Cloud grew 82%, and the company can distribute AI across search, advertising, productivity software, and enterprise services. Its models, custom chips, data, and global user base create several paths to returns. The bear case is the cost and uncertainty of defending those businesses. Capital spending is surging while AI answers may alter search economics and regulators challenge the platform's advantages.
Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) provides a more focused route to the same demand. Its second-quarter revenue rose 50%, with data-center revenue up 107%, as Instinct accelerators and EPYC processors gained momentum. If hyperscalers insist on multiple suppliers, AMD can grow faster than total AI spending. It also faces the harder competitive task: Nvidia's software ecosystem remains dominant, and customers developing internal chips can limit the merchant opportunity.
The filing changes the composition of Tiger's reported positions, but it does not disclose why the fund made either move. Alphabet owns demand and distribution but must prove huge investments strengthen its core economics. AMD sells into that investment wave but must win deployments against powerful alternatives. One can benefit from lower chip prices while the other needs sufficient pricing and share. Holding both, even at different weights, captures the expansion while acknowledging that value may migrate across the stack. The next confirmation should come from cloud margins and accelerator deployment growth rather than portfolio symbolism.

€1 billion in 18 months: Enzo Fernandez deal means Enzo Maresca has no excuses in first Man City season originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
No amount of transfer outlay can make Enzo Maresca's Manchester City task straightforward. Following greats is hard, even for very talented coaches.
Some of the pre-season conversation saw the likes of Unai Emery and David Moyes mentioned alongside Maresca. They succeeded ******* ne Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson at ******* nal and Manchester United respectively and never really had a chance. How on earth can Maresca hope to follow Pep Guardiola successfully?
Emery and Moyes will be mentioned again after any moments of turbulence at the Etihad Stadium this season. Their cautionary tales were cited after ******* nal swept past City 3-0 in the Community Shield. There was a gulf, an unbridgeable chasm.
Of course, part of that was overreaction after a glorified friendly. The narrative of ******* nal being a stable and ******* ured force while half of the Premier League is in flux also appeals to purists' instincts. Other teams are spending hundreds of millions of pounds and sacking managers, just to try to catch up with a team that charted a steady course, trusted the process and finally won the league.

Josiah Trotter finished the preseason with an 80.5 defensive grade, the fourth highest among rookie linebackers who played at least 20 snaps. Only Ohio State's Arvell Reese, LSU's Harold Perkins Jr. and Texas Tech's Jack Kelly finished ahead of him.
Against the Jets, Trotter played just 15 defensive snaps but earned an 82.4 PFF grade. He finished with three total tackles without being charged with a missed tackle and earned a 78.1 run defense grade. Trotter attacked downhill, forced runners to change direction, and held up when asked to cover tight ends and running backs. There wasn't much concern about Trotter's ability against the run coming out of Missouri, as he earned an 89.3 run defense grade during his final college season and built his reputation around his instincts and willingness to attack gaps. Coverage was the bigger question after he posted grades below 50 in that area during each of his final two college seasons, but those concerns haven't prevented the Bucs from giving him opportunities.
Trotter started alongside Alex Anzalone when Tampa Bay played its first team defense against Kansas City, another indication that the competition with SirVocea Dennis for a starting role has been legitimate. The rookie has also talked about how quickly the game has started to slow down for him as he's gotten more comfortable in Todd Bowles' defense. Trotter has looked capable of handling more than just early down run defense, which could make it easier for Bowles to declare him a starter come regular season.

In the longer format, patience and discipline are traditional routes to building an innings. The beauty lies in embracing that challenge when the situation demands it.

South Zone found themselves in a similar situation on Monday. At 80/5, they were staring at the prospect of conceding first-innings lead to North Zone, who had posted 195 in their Duleep Trophy semifinal at the BCCI Centre of Excellence here.

What followed over the next 271 minutes was an exhibition of restraint and disciplined batsmanship as Tilak Varma (106 batting, 225b, 7x4) and Shreyas Gopal (87, 169b, 11x4) took centre stage with a 175-run sixth-wicket partnership. Their stand eventually turned the tide, helping South secure a first-innings lead. They were 285/9 at stumps, 90 runs ahead on the second day.

South, who resumed on 40/2, were rocked by the brilliance of pacer Gurnoor Brar (4/70), who arrived in the city from the Sri Lanka tour on Friday. Making the most of windy conditions, Brar produced a peach in his fifth delivery of the day to disturb Narayan Jagadeesan's stumps. He struck again soon after, producing a similar delivery to castle R Smaran's off stump before dismissing Kodimela Himateja for a duck.

With their backs against the wall, Tilak and Shreyas joined hands and tested the North bowlers' patience.

The Karnataka all-rounder brought up his first four off the 42nd ball he faced. Tilak did not find the boundary again until his 154th delivery, with that four taking South into the lead. Having curbed his instincts and reached his fifty without a boundary, the Hyderabad batter gradually shifted gears.

Shreyas, meanwhile, completed his fifty in 107 ******* and looked in control as he appeared on course for his seventh first-class hundred. But pacer Arshdeep Singh ended his vigil when he edged one through to stand-in wicketkeeper Abdul Samad.

With South's tail beginning to crumble, Tilak was in danger of missing out on a deserved century. The Hyderabad batter, though, held his nerve, smashing two successive fours off Gurnoor to bring up his eighth first-class hundred in 219 ******* .

Interestingly, all seven of Tilak's fours came after he reached his fifty — a reflection of the restraint that underpinned his innings. With South nine down, he will be eager to carry that momentum into the third day and stretch their lead into three figures and beyond.
Brief scores: North Zone 195 vs South Zone 285/9 in 94 overs (o/n: 40/2) (Narayan Jagadeesan 36, Tilak Varma 106 batting, Shreyas Gopal 87; Arshdeep Singh 2-59, Anshul Kamboj 2-53, Gurnoor Brar 4-70).

Skims has made two major changes to its leadership positions, including the hiring of former Supreme chief creative officer Eric Magee.
As reported by Women's Wear Daily, the company announced on Monday (Aug. 24) that longtime creative director Kim Schraub has been promoted to chief brand officer and Magee has been hired as chief design officer. Schraub has been working for Skims, which was co-founded by Kim Kardashian and Jens Grede in 2019, before it officially launched. She previously led product, packaging, and campaigns, but now she'll handle the brand across retail, campaigns, collaborations, and storytelling.
"Kim has been with us since before Skims existed. She helped turn an idea into a brand that people genuinely love," said Kardashian. "Her creative instincts have helped shape everything about how Skims shows up in the world, and this promotion is a reflection of the enormous impact she has had, and the trust Jens and I have in her vision. I can't wait to see where she takes us next."
Grede added that Schraub is "one of the most talented creatives" he's worked with, and that the promotion is "the natural evolution of the creative leadership she has always provided." She's got over 25 years of experience in the fashion industry, working with major brands including Abercrombie, Hollister, and Victoria's Secret Pink.

The Indiana Fever dismantled the Connecticut Sun 111-91 on Friday night. Indiana was once again led by its all-star guards, with Kelsy Mitchell scoring 34 points and Caitlin Clark scoring 34 of her own and dishing out 12 ******* ists to boot.
The timing of the win was perfect for the Fever, as a loss by the Atlanta Dream to the Portland Fire on the same night allowed the Fever to climb to the fourth spot in the WNBA standings.
However, as well as things went out on the court for Indiana and co., Clark is facing heavy criticism for her actions after the game. After giving a quick postgame interview for the ION broadcast, a cameraman got in the superstar's way as she was headed back to the locker room, and she had no problem whatsoever shoving him aside.
Although Clark probably wasn't even thinking and just made the move instinctively, she still found herself receiving massive criticism for the move on social media.
"Grabbing his arm and pushing him out the way like that is CRAZY," one fan posted on X.

10 years ago, the Atlanta Falcons took the NFL by the blindside, going on a roll through the NFC playoffs and making it all the way to the Super Bowl. While Matt Ryan, Kyle Shanahan and their league-best scoring offense gets most of the credit, Atlanta wouldn't have won the conference without the contributions of four rookie starters on defense.
If the Falcons are going to prove all the negative narratives wrong in 2026, they could definitely use some surprise contributions from their rookie class. It sounds like at least one rookie is in the mix to start on defense.
According to Marc Raimondi at ESPN, the team's fourth-round draft pick, former Oklahoma linebacker Kendal Daniels has a legitimate shot to wind up starting next to Divine Deablo.
"The Falcons have trusted him with the green dot at times this summer because of injuries, and Daniels has a legitimate shot at starting at inside linebacker alongside Divine Deablo."
Daniels has looked impressive during the preseason, establishing a physical style and showing sharp instincts against the run. Daniels may not be the only rookie linebacker to see significant playing time in 2026, though. Here's what Raimondi had to say about sixth-round pick, linebacker Harold Perkins Jr. out of LSU.
