Actor C.W. Morgan has passed away at the age of 72. He was known for playing Billy Loomis' father in Scream and Scream 3. According to medical reports, Morgan died on August 30, 2026, though the reason has not been disclosed.
The confirmation of his death comes from Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records seen by TMZ and Entertainment Weekly. According to the records, Morgan died in a bathroom in Los Angeles. An LAPD spokesperson told TMZ that the death appears to be a result of natural causes.
Morgan was born in Bisbee, Arizona, and began his acting career in entertainment by starring in the 1991 TV series, Midnight Caller. Following that, he appeared in the 1992 TV movie, The Last of His Tribe. Besides the Scream movies, Morgan has also appeared in the film Metro and the TV show Nash Bridges as himself. In addition to his film and television work, he also lent his voice to the 1997 video game, The Last Express.
While his appearances were brief, his character, Hank Loomis, holds great importance to Scream fans. In the original film, it is revealed that Hank had an affair with Sidney Prescott's mother, which eventually led to his son, Billy, becoming Ghostface.
Morgan's daughter, Renata Macfie, paid tribute to the actor on Facebook. "I'm never going to have the right words for this post. Losing you has left the biggest hole in my heart. I will carry on our Mulholland drives and our Starbucks outings. I'm grateful and lucky to have had you as my daddy. My Guck. Rest easy, bubby. Life will never be the same without you and your poorly timed jokes that I inherited from you. Love you endlessly (no more fighting about that anymore, I win)."

Kids today might know Matthew Modine best for his role as Dr Brenner in Stranger Things but the star got his start back in the '80s with hits like Full Metal Jacket (1987). The actor has appeared in not one but two Christopher Nolan classics, The Dark Knight Rises and Oppenheimer, so we'd recommend digging back into his filmography.
Before you swap over to your TV screen, catch up on what the actor has been doing since he worked with Nicolas Cage and the successful lives of his wife and two kids below.
Caridad met while Matthew was working as a chef in New York
Matthew's long-term wife Caridad Rivera was born in the Lower East Side of Manhattan and is of Puerto Rican descent. She works as a makeup and wardrobe artist. Caridad and husband Matthew are still going strong four decades in.
The actor told Closer Weekly: "I'd been in a few relationships and wanted someone to be friends with. What's most important is to have a partner you share interests with, who challenges you, who is smarter than you." He added: "Then the physical side is a bonus. I hit the jackpot and got both!

For an average single person planning to stop working at 64, a $1.2 million 401(k) account and $2,800 Social Security benefit could provide enough income to make ends meet during retirement. Widely used guidelines suggest your annual income may be around $81,600, which may or may not be more than your annual expenses. Much depends on individual circumstances, including the kind of retirement lifestyle you desire, your location and future trends of inflation, taxes and investment returns. To get a comprehensive workup of your retirement budget, take the question to a financial advisor.
Income and expenses represent the two sides of your retirement budget. Both are equally important and decisions you make regarding either can affect the overall accuracy and dependability of the budget.
You can estimate expenses by using averages for typical retirees or by considering specifics of your situation with estimate for categories such as housing, healthcare and taxes. Similarly, you can estimate future income with general guidelines or by accounting for specifics such as your personal investment preferences.
In your case, we'll start with income since we have information about that. Despite the possibility that Social Security benefits will be cut by about 20% after 2035, your $2,800 Social Security benefit can probably be relied upon. And benefits are indexed to a cost-of-living benchmark, providing protection against inflation.
Note, however, that if you wait to claim benefits, your monthly amount will increase every year until you are 70. By claiming at age 64 rather than waiting until your full retirement age of 67, you are receiving 20% less. If you wait until age 70, you'll get 24% more than at 67. And you'll receive the higher amount, adjusted annually for cost of living, as long as you live.

We now have a better idea of exactly who the biggest creators are on social media. ESHAP and What's Trending have partnered to unveil the second annual Creator Map, a guide to the biggest creators by platform. And TheWrap has your first look at their findings.
The Creator Map will be unveiled later today at the first Jupiter Festival Miami, which is sponsored by YouTube. Evan Shapiro, media cartographer and ESHAP founder and CEO; Shira Lazar, What's Trending founder and CEO; and Jon Goss, CEO of the Lighthouse will unveil the project on the main stage of the event.
Described as the "definitive visual guide to the creator ecosphere," the Creator Map offers a data-informed view of the creator economy, an industry that can often feel confusing and chaotic from an outsider perspective. For the first time, the top 200 creators across Instagram, YouTube and TikTok will have both their follower counts and Affinity Quotient scores published on the map. Sponsored by Whalar Group and with data powered by Whalar's creator operating system Foam, the Affinity Quotient measures the depth of audience engagement and places a greater emphasis on active signals such as shares and saves than on passive interactions. That's an important insight as engagement rather than follower count has become the top metric in the creator economy. The Creator Affinity 100 list was first presented at this this year's IBC and identified 100 creators generating the greatest affinity among their audiences.
The map also identifies top creators across Snap, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Twitch, Pinterest and Rumble, along with the top Substack publishers and podcasters. Additionally, it identifies some of the top agencies, studios, technology tools, payment platforms and other companies powering the creator ecosystem. Check it out below:

Shaun of the Dead and Mission: Impossible films star Simon Pegg has revealed he has been diagnosed with ADHD, which he said "confirmed a lot of stuff that I'd been wrestling with".
Pegg, 56, who also co-created and starred in films Hot Fuzz, The World's End, and TV series ******* ed, said "there was a lot of build-up and suspicion, and it just took a while actually to get there."
Speaking on the podcast I'm ADHD! No You're Not on Thursday, he said he pursued a diagnosis as he "just wanted to know".
ADHD symptoms focus on three main areas - inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity plus lack of concentration.
Although many people may feel like they have some similar symptoms, genetics play an important role in ADHD and a full diagnosis is given to those who are negatively affected on a daily basis.

WASHINGTON — Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mike Rogers appears to be breaking with President Donald Trump on another key issue less than a month before Election Day.
"Drinking a Labatt and watching the Red Wings, man, it just doesn't get any more Michigan than that," Rogers said in a new ad released Oct. 7. "Here in Michigan, we know that Canada is not our enemy. We need to end this tariff war now."
The statement marks the second time in recent weeks that Rogers spoke out — without criticizing Trump by name — against one of the president's unpopular initiatives. This time, Rogers is calling for an end to Trump's widespread trade war against Canada, America's second-biggest trading partner, while drinking a Canadian beer that's banned from import under the president's latest trade restrictions.
The Republican Senate nominee also split with Trump on the Iran war in late September, saying it "needs to end and end quickly."
Rogers' public shift on tariffs comes amid mounting opposition in Michigan to Trump's tariffs and GOP concerns that voters will reject their candidates up and down the ballot for failing to address cost-of-living concerns. Election Day is Nov. 3, though more than 200,000 Michiganians have already cast absentee ballots.

Much of President Donald Trump's second term has focused on changes to the nation's capital.
But his ambitions to remake the physical architecture of the presidency transcend Washington: Trump wants to transform his West Palm Beach golf club into a presidential retreat modeled after Camp David.
Subscribe to The Post Most newsletter for the most important and interesting stories from The Washington Post.
The plan calls for a parcel of the private club to be designated a permanent, official sanctuary for foreign leaders and future U.S. presidents, designed to host international summits and house presidents when they take vacations in Florida, according to a proposal presented to Palm Beach County officials by Trump International Golf Club's legal counsel. Future presidents would also be offered comped memberships to the Trump club.
"Just as Camp David, Windsor Castle, or the Elysee Palace are known worldwide, so too will the Presidential Golf Course in Palm Beach County," Harvey Oyer, a lawyer representing the Trump course, wrote to the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners in a letter last month. Oyer asked the county, which owns the property the course is on, to provide a piece of the land to the federal government, and he promised Trump would pay for the construction of a presidential residence and facilities on that land.

America's older households sit on nearly $140 trillion in wealth, and much of it showed up recently.
Households age 55 and over held around three-quarters of the nation's total net worth in the second quarter of 2026, according to an Oct. 1 report from Bank of America Institute, based on ******* ysis of Federal Reserve data. "With equity markets rising strongly," wrote senior economist David Michael Tinsley, those households have seen "a more than 20% increase in their net worth over the past two years."
That rally has run on AI. The Magnificent Seven accounted for more than half of the S&P 500's gains last year, Fortune reported in April, and Goldman Sachs strategists found technology stocks drove 85% of the index's return through mid-May this year. "AI-driven return has been the single most important structural driver of equity performance," Capgemini's Luca Russignan told Yahoo Finance in June. Boomers own 54% of all U.S. stocks.
That's a lopsided split. Americans 55 and over make up about 31% of the population, according to Census Bureau estimates, but control roughly 75% of its net worth.
The pile gives many older Americans what the institute calls "considerable capacity to spend on travel and other leisure categories." Add their growing share of the population and their extra free time, and they become an increasingly influential market for businesses chasing consumer dollars. The BofA report focused mainly on the economic implications of a growing mass of older consumers, but the generational wealth composition was striking.

Lots of investors keep coming back to dividend stocks for a pretty simple reason: While the market is often busy chasing whatever happens to be hot that week, a growing dividend is something a company actually has to earn. It has to generate the cash to keep paying investors quarter after quarter, year after year.
That makes dividends especially appealing when the market and the economy feel like they're being pulled in every direction. A company can dress up a press release, but it can't fake the cash sitting in its bank account. When it comes time to pay a dividend, the money is either there or it isn't.

What interests me most, though, aren't necessarily the big, well-known dividend payers. I'm more interested in the companies flying under the radar that have increased their payouts for decades while also making meaningful changes to their underlying businesses today. These four companies fit that description.
Universal (NYSE: UVV) is the highest yielder here, paying out around 7.4% at recent prices, and it has raised its dividend for 56 consecutive years. This raise makes it a Dividend King, a company that has delivered 50 or more years of annual dividend increases. Universal isn't a cigarette maker, but it is the world's largest leaf tobacco exporter and importer. It supplies tobacco companies rather than selling to smokers directly, which is why it rarely shows up in articles about tobacco stocks.

Mike Tindall takes a surprisingly formal approach when addressing his mother-in-law, Princess Anne. The former professional rugby player is married to the royal's daughter, Zara Tindall, and while most husbands refer to their mothers-in-law by their first name, he opts for a more traditional greeting.
When the 47-year-old appeared on ITV's Good Morning Britain in 2024 with fellow former rugby pro James Haskell to chat about their podcast, The Good, The Bad & The Rugby, he explained about previously featured Princess Anne and the Prince and Princess of Wales as guests.

"They were amazing," Mike said of his in-laws before explaining why he wanted to bring them onto the podcast. "Rugby has been going through a tough time and we wanted to showcase why it brings people together from all backgrounds, it's such an inclusive sport, but it also creates great human beings," he said. "It was more important to showcase why they like sport, why Princess Anne has been a patron of [the Scottish Rugby Union] for 37 years and why she loves the characters in the game.

Ray Fisher became internationally recognizable as the technologically enhanced superhero Cyborg, but his career began far from the world of comic book blockbusters. The American actor developed his craft through theater before making the leap to major Hollywood productions. His upbringing, particularly the influence of his mother and grandmother, helped shape the values he later carried into his professional life. When Fisher encountered difficulties behind the scenes of Justice League, he chose to speak publicly about his experience. That decision became an important part of a career increasingly ****** ociated with both performance and workplace accountability.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Fisher grew up in Lawnside, New Jersey, in a large family raised primarily by his mother and grandmother. He has described both women as his real life superheroes, praising the determination and strength they demonstrated while he was growing up. His interest in acting became serious during high school, when encouragement from a teacher led him to audition for theatrical productions.
Fisher continued developing as a stage performer and eventually established himself in professional theater. One of his most demanding early roles was Muhammad Ali in the Off Broadway production Fetch Clay, Make Man. Preparing to portray the legendary boxer required substantial physical transformation as well as the ability to capture Ali's confidence and personality. The experience demonstrated the discipline Fisher could bring to a role before Hollywood audiences became familiar with him.
His major screen opportunity arrived when Zack Snyder selected him to play Victor Stone, better known as Cyborg, in the DC film universe. Fisher made a brief appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice before receiving a much larger role in Justice League. Production changed significantly after Snyder left the project and Joss Whedon took over during post production. The theatrical version released in 2017 reduced much of Cyborg's original storyline.
In 2020, Fisher publicly accused Whedon of inappropriate and unprofessional behavior during the Justice League reshoots. WarnerMedia subsequently conducted an investigation after Fisher raised concerns involving the production. In December 2020, the company announced that the investigation had concluded and that remedial action had been taken, without publicly detailing what those measures involved.

After reports that a lab technician's death was possibly linked to pneumonic plague in Russia, U.S. officials said they are closely watching the situation.
The lab technician is a 28-year-old woman who worked at the Irkutsk Antiplague Research Institute of Siberia and the Far East, which was set up in the 1930s as an anti-plague body and later expanded its scope to other highly dangerous diseases. The US trade deficit jumped to more than $100 billion in August as importers wrestled with a new round of President Trump's tariffs and continued to bring in billions of dollars' worth of components for AI data centers.
The total gap: $105.6 billion, a 13.8% increase from July's revised $92.8 billion deficit, the highest level since early 2025, when importers stocked up ahead of Trump's "Liberation Day" and a later four-month surge in imports that pushed average monthly trade deficits north of $120 billion.
Imports rose in August by 4.3%, compared with a 1.4% increase in exports. The US brought in $420.8 billion in total imports in August against $315.2 billion in exports.
In an **** ysis, Capital Economics said the "sharp rise in imports suggests third quarter GDP growth will be well below our current forecast of 4.0%," suggesting that the final annualized figure could be closer to 2.5%."
"The relatively broad-based rise in goods imports mean net trade was still a drag overall," the group added.

"It's something I talk to my kids about constantly, about hard work, never taking things for granted, always having gratitude," she said. "I lead by example. I'm really open with them about my work, all of the hard work that I put into my law studies, and they're proud. I think that you can have a big life and still have that spirit in you. Wealthy baby boomers have spent decades building their fortunes—and the foundations, donor-advised funds, and giving traditions that come with them. But as the $124 trillion Great Wealth Transfer gets underway, a growing share of the older generation isn't so sure their kids will carry on tradition the way they hope.
Fewer than half of wealthy Americans (47%) believe the next generation is prepared to take on family philanthropic causes, down from 55% in 2024, according to research from Bank of America released last week. The share of parents who believe their children share their commitment to giving back fell even more sharply to 65% from 76%. The bank surveyed more than 1,430 wealthy individuals in the U.S. aged 21 or older with at least $3 million in investable ******* ets, excluding primary residence.
The confidence gap in philanthropy mirrors a broader anxiety wealth advisors have noticed about whether heirs are ready for any of it.
"This is a very real concern I'm hearing from ultra-affluent families right now," Tom Thiegs, managing director of leadership and legacy at Ascent Private Capital Management with U.S. Bank, told Fortune of parents' fears that wealth could dampen their children's drive. Trent Von Ahsen of Cedar Point Capital Partners also told Fortune his clients are leaning on mentorship and phased wealth transfers rather than lump-sum inheritances.
But the irony is younger donors are, by several of the study's measures, more engaged donors than older generations. Gen Z and millennial donors support an average of 12 charitable causes, compared with eight among wealth donors overall. They're also roughly twice as likely to use a donor-advised fund, and 87% say honoring their family's philanthropic tradition is important. Meanwhile, 86% say it's equally important to establish their own charitable identity.

A source claims that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not seeing eye to eye on an important decision. The news comes as the Sussexes are settling back into life in the UK following their return after six years. However, the transition has not been entirely smooth due to security concerns regarding their children's schools and King Charles' confirmation of their status as private citizens.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly "not on the same page" regarding a crucial element of their move back to the UK.
Adding to their existing challenges, the Sussexes may now be facing another disagreement. As reported by Heat World, the pair are divided over their Christmas plans. A source told the publication, "With the kids in school, they can't keep bouncing between California and the UK whenever they feel like it, so they've got some difficult decisions coming up because they are not on the same page."
The insider further shared that the Duke wants to remain in Britain for the holidays, as Christmas is the time he cherishes most. On the other hand, the "Suits" star is reportedly missing home and longing to be with her mother, Doria Ragland.
They stated, "[Meghan] misses her friends, she misses her day-to-day routine and she really misses her mom. She talks to Doria every day, usually multiple times but it's not the same as spending every weekend with her."

Alexis Bellino and John Janssen's marriage has become about more than just the two of them!
One year after their wedding, the couple is showing how their relationship has grown into a blended family, with their six children playing an important role in the life they are building together. From the wedding day to their first year as husband and wife, the focus has shifted toward creating one family.
Alexis Bellino and John Janssen married after a relationship that had already drawn attention because of his past with her former "Real Housewives of Orange County" co-star, Shannon Beador. But one year in, their story is taking a different shape, with their children and Janssen's role as a hands-on stepfather becoming a bigger part of their life together.

A year after saying "I do," Bellino went back to the moment that started it all, and the memories that stood out were not just about her and John Janssen. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship began with a failed friendship bracelet, but the unlikely gesture eventually led to a first date, a public romance, and, in July 2026, a wedding at Madison Square Garden. What started as a playful attempt to meet Swift developed into something much more serious.
The couple's story has unfolded under extraordinary public attention. Swift is one of the world's most recognizable music stars, while Kelce built his reputation as a Kansas City Chiefs tight end. Despite the enormous difference between their careers, both have said the connection developed naturally.
The surprising part may be that the relationship doesn't seem to depend on having identical lives. Instead, shared humor, curiosity, professional respect, and an understanding of the pressure of performing for huge audiences have repeatedly surfaced as important parts of the connection.
Kelce first tried to meet Swift after attending her Eras Tour concert at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City in July 2023. He had hoped to give her a friendship bracelet containing his phone number, following a popular concert tradition surrounding the tour.
The plan fell through because Kelce couldn't get backstage. Instead, Kelce discussed the failed attempt on "New Heights," the podcast he co-hosts with his brother, Jason. The public admission eventually reached Swift and caught her attention.
