Please accept my apologies, hoddlers. But I have to do a second running hoddle this week.
And this is also my third post this summer on running water bottles. It's hot out there, and I bought the Nathan 14oz handheld soft flask to keep me hydrated and fresh on all my runs. I was excited to have something that would get lighter the more I would drink out of it.
After a couple months of running with this bottle, I would like to offer my review. The short answer is: I HATE IT! I HATE THIS WATER BOTTLE. I HATE LOOKING AT IT. I HATE DRINKING OUT OF IT.
Now, please see the reasons below for why I hate this stupid thing.
Sweat: The bottle claims to be moisture wicking, but the sweat actually clings to the fabric that wraps around the bottle itself. Firstly, the fabric makes your hand warmer than it should be. But the sweat becomes a serious problem because you should be washing the outer part after every single use (and by this I mean throwing it in the washing machine). Who has time to run the washing machine every single use for a bottle? You can go a run or two without doing this, but then you have to breath in the stench while you drink out of it.

In an interview on The ****** Cavett Show, the famed actor talked about his experiences with alcohol after the host offered him the floor to be a "PSA" for others who were having a hard time. The interview first aired on August 4, 1980, which was four years and a day before Burton's death from intracerebral hemorrhage.

Former England Test captain Ben Stokes has dismissed suggestions that England alone has a drinking problem, arguing that alcohol has long been embedded in cricket's culture across all levels of the sport.

Speaking on the For The Love of Cricket podcast with former teammates Stuart Broad and Jos **** ler, the 35-year-old reflected on cricket's long-standing relationship with alcohol just weeks after announcing his retirement from international cricket.
During the discussion, Broad put forward a question many fans have been asking in recent years: Does England cricket have a drinking problem? Stokes disagreed with the premise, insisting the issue extends far beyond one national team.

"No, I mean, that's such an extreme thing to put on a team. I think cricket has just a drinking culture and it hasn't changed. We are in 2026 now where the game has gone more professional over the years. One thing that has just stayed within cricket is its relationship with alcohol, from club cricket all the way up," Ben Stokes said.

Stokes added that despite major advances in nutrition, medical support and athlete preparation, cricket's traditional **** ociation with alcohol continues to exist.

"It's been embedded within the sport. The relationship between alcohol and cricket is something that hasn't moved on as the game has become more professional. There's been more science, medicine and nutrition information. So people think England cricket has a culture with alcohol, but I would say no, cricket has a culture **** ociated with alcohol, " he added.
Stokes' remarks come against the backdrop of a recent disciplinary incident that saw him suspended for one Test after breaching team curfew during England's series against New Zealand.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) stood down both Stokes and teammate Gus Atkinson for the second Test following a late-night outing. Although an investigation later cleared both players of further wrongdoing and they returned for the third Test, the incident prompted the ECB to introduce stricter alcohol guidelines for England players.

Shortly after returning to the squad, Stokes announced his retirement from international cricket, bringing an end to his distinguished England career while continuing to pursue domestic and franchise cricket opportunities.

Joe Root is set to return as England's Test captain, with his second spell in charge likely to continue through next summer's home Ashes series against Australia, The Athletic reported on Friday.

England's search for a new Test captain following Ben Stokes' retirement from international cricket now appears set to end with Root returning to the role.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is expected to announce Root as captain for the three-Test series against Pakistan, starting on August 19, with the appointment likely to extend into next year's Ashes, The Athletic report said.

The move would allow Harry Brook, Stokes' deputy in Tests, to continue as England's white-ball captain ahead of next year's 50-over World Cup, and continue working with the T20 and one-day international coach, Brendon McCullum.

England are still searching for a new Test coach after parting ways with McCullum in the red-ball format. Aa per The Athletic report, ****** istant coach Marcus Trescothick is increasingly expected to take charge on an interim basis for the Pakistan series.

The ECB has faced a difficult month after the end of England's first Test ****** ignment of the summer against New Zealand, which left the team looking for both a new captain and a new Test coach.

Stokes announced his retirement during the third Test of the series, which England lost 2-1. Soon after, the ECB also decided to replace McCullum after four years as Test coach.

Root had already stepped in as captain for the second Test against New Zealand after Stokes was suspended following the late-night drinking session in Chelsea after the first Test, an incident that led to further problems for English cricket.

That experience appears to have convinced the ECB that Root remains its best option for the role.

The only uncertainty was whether Root, England's highest Test run-scorer, wanted to return to captaincy after saying he was done with the job when his first spell ended in 2022. He had stepped down after England managed only one win in 17 Tests.

Now Root, who is currently playing for Welsh Fire in The Hundred, is set to lead England again, beginning with the Pakistan series, as the team looks to recover from a difficult year.

England started 2026 with a 4-1 Ashes defeat in Australia and then suffered its first major home series loss since 2012 against New Zealand.

In June, a unanimous Supreme Court ruled in United States v. Hemani that the government can't strip your right to possess a firearm just because you smoke marijuana. Yet an old drug conviction could still stop you from waxing eyebrows, cutting hair, or giving massages.
Hemani highlights a double standard in constitutional law: Courts roll out the red carpet for some rights while relegating others—like the right to earn a living—to the service entrance.
In Hemani, the Supreme Court held that Ali Hemani could not be prosecuted for possessing a handgun while being an unlawful user of marijuana. Under the Court's Second Amendment framework, when a law burdens protected conduct—like possessing a gun—the government must show that the law is consistent with a historical tradition of firearm regulation. Here, the Court held that the government failed that test.
But similar laws face a much more forgiving test when it comes to a different right—the right to earn a living. States often employ "good moral character" requirements for a license to do certain jobs, which means regulators can deny licenses due to past drug convictions. These requirements have a similar effect as the law that prevented Hemani from possessing a gun because of his marijuana habit.
For example, Courtney Haveman was denied a cosmetology license to do facials and hair removal because of misdemeanors from her drinking days—years after she'd gotten sober. Thankfully, a court held that the character requirement violated the Pennsylvania Constitution.

Former England captain Ben Stokes announced his international retirement midway through what turned out to a crushing defeat in the third and final Test against New Zealand at Trent Bridge -- the final match of McCullum's red-ball reign.

Brendon McCullum has left his role as England's Test head coach but will remain in charge of the national white-ball set-up, the England and Wales Cricket Board announced Sunday.
England have lost seven of their last nine Tests under the former New Zealand captain.
This includes a woeful 4-1 Ashes defeat in Australia in 2025/26 and last month's 2-1 loss at home to New Zealand, with both series overshadowed by allegations of a team drinking culture.

England men's players have been advised to avoid drinking alcohol on the day before and the day after matches under new behavior guidelines, introduced in the wake of the nightclub controversy involving Ben Stokes and Gus Atkinson. The updated policy aims to remove the ambiguities that surrounded the team's existing midnight curfew.

Poirier (30-10) was recently arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson AtlantaInternational Airport for public drunkenness. While the formerUltimate Fighting Championship star was traveling to SouthFlorida, he started drinking during the layover in Atlanta. He recently revealed that the alcohol binge that led to the arrestwas partly triggered by memories of his father. "The Diamond"claims his father has been a lifelong victim of alcohol addiction,which led to estrangement from friends and family.

"He's ruined his marriages; he's ruined his relationships, hisfriendships. He's ruined his relationship with his kids," Poiriersaid on "The Diary of a CEO" podcast. "My little brother is kind ofoff and on talking to him, but he has two kids that don't speak tohim at all. And won't. He's been in jail plenty of times foralcohol related stuff. If I could paint a picture, what you thinkof a classic drunk or alcoholic. Very selfish and continues to goback to it."
Despite Poirier's efforts to help, his father is shockinglyhomeless now. While he knows he's not responsible for his father'splight, the former UFC lightweight just couldn't help ponderingover it while traveling on Father's Day, leading to his altercationand arrest at the airport.

"He is actually homeless right now. Part of that, me getting introuble at the airport was… It's not my weight to carry. I tried tohelp him out and he is back on the street," he added. "It is almostas if he doesn't want help. On Father's Day, I was travelling towork, and I just couldn't stop thinking about my father. And Istarted drinking at the airport, and that's kind of what led to theincident."
