One of the questions that the Minnesota Vikings are going to have to come up with an answer for relatively soon is what to do with wide receiver Jordan Addison. They've already picked up the fifth-year option on his rookie contract, which would appear to be the precursor to a long-term extension with the purple, and such an extension just continues to get more and more expensive.
On Tuesday morning, the Baltimore Ravens announced that they had signed wide receiver Zay Flowers to a four-year, $140 million contract extension with $108 million in guaranteed money. Those terms are nearly identical to the extension that Justin Jefferson signed two years ago. Jefferson's extension was also a four-year, $140 million pact with $110 million guaranteed. So, Zay Flowers is, officially, making "Justin Jefferson money."
Flowers and Addison went with back-to-back picks in the 2023 NFL Draft, with the Ravens taking Flowers at #22 overall and the Vikings selecting Addison at #23 . Thus far in their careers, Flowers has the edge in receptions (237 to 175) and receiving yardage (3,128 to 2,396, with Flowers going over the 1,000-yard mark twice), while Addison has found the end zone more times than Flowers has (22 touchdowns to 14).
Of course, Addison has had to compete with Jefferson for catches, which causes his numbers to take a bit of a hit. Flowers has led the Ravens in receptions in each of his three NFL seasons, while Addison has been the clear #2 wide receiver in the Minnesota offense. Them's the breaks, I guess.

The four-year, $140 million value of Zay Flowers' extension generated the headline, but the guaranteed money reveals the depth of the Baltimore Ravens' commitment. Flowers received $108 million guaranteed, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Based on the current wide receiver market, that figure ranks fourth at the position behind only Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Justin Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase.
Smith-Njigba leads the position with approximately $120.07 million guaranteed. Jefferson received $110 million, while Chase secured $109.8 million. Flowers is immediately behind that group and ahead of Drake London, CeeDee Lamb, Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave.
That placement is significant because guarantees provide a clearer picture of a team's commitment than the maximum value alone. Baltimore did not merely attach an impressive headline number to Flowers' contract. The Ravens guaranteed a substantial portion of the agreement to keep him at the center of their offense.
Flowers has earned that confidence by becoming Baltimore's most consistent drafted receiver. He has surpassed 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons, reached the Pro Bowl twice and established the franchise's single-season receiving record for a wide receiver.
The extension creates expectations for Flowers to remain productive and available throughout his prime. It also offers security that players at that position rarely obtain, with contracts that can include inflated totals and uncertain back-end compensation.

Meghan Markle's latest Instagram post has sparked fresh online debate over copying influencer Nara Smith's content. Some social media users claimed the ****** ss of Sussex's flower-picking video looked very similar to a floral-themed post Smith shared just a few days earlier. This led to widespread comparisons across social media.
The discussion started after Meghan Markle posted a short Instagram story on August 2 of herself picking flowers in a garden and arranging them into a bouquet.
Nara Smith, who has built a massive following with her lifestyle and cooking content, had shared a similar video, days earlier. It was a video documenting her process of picking wildflowers from a hillside she had planted herself.
Wearing one of her signature dresses with red gardening clogs, Smith carried a basket while gathering cosmos, bachelor ****** ons and other blooms before arranging them into a bouquet in her kitchen.
In the video, which has received more than 130,000 views, Smith reflected on watching the flowers grow after planting wildflower seeds. The influencer captioned the Instagram post, "Anytime there's an inconvenience, you'll find me making flower arrangements."

One fantasy football related stat for every NFL team heading into the 2026 season. The order is listed by odds to win the Super Bowl, and the notes come from snippets of my player ***** ysis that can be found in Yahoo Plus where I have plenty of ***** ysis, rankings, targets, fades, etc.
Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2026 NFL season
Davante Adams led the NFL with 0.76 touchdowns per game inside the 20-yard line on a 27% target share. Only Amon-Ra St. Brown and Drake London came close to matching, but his role outside the red zone was just as fascinating. He had an 18% target share with a 0% screen rate outside of the red zone with an average depth of target 15.6 yards downfield, which was the third highest at WR. Adams' role is completely big-play dependent with his easy targets evaporating.
Josh Allen has finished as the QB1 (24.6 points per game), QB3 (23.7), QB1 (25.8), and QB1 (26.4) in recent seasons. The last two years were his worst fantasy years in a long time, and he still separated from the mid- and low-end fantasy QB1s. In terms of overall finishes using fantasy points over replacement per game in half-PPR, Allen has been 30th, 18th, 30th and 19th. The only downside with him is how deep the QB group is this season, so I'd understand waiting until late Round 3 to grab Allen.
Over the past two seasons when Lamar Jackson has over five passes in a game, Zay Flowers is the WR13 in yards and the WR47 in touchdowns per game. His target share in the red zone is 15.7% versus 27.5% outside of the red zone. If he scores some long touchdowns or gets more chances in the red zone, then Flowers is an upside WR2 as he heads into his prime. Unfortunately, there's about 10 other receivers in this exact tier.

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert and singer-songwriter Madison Beer are officially engaged.
The couple announced the news Tuesday (July 28) morning in a joint Instagram post captioned "Meet my fiancé," sharing a carousel of photos from the proposal.
COMPLEX SHOP: Shop the brands you love, anytime and anywhere. Uncover what's next. Buy. Collect. Obsess.
Herbert got down on one knee beneath an arbor draped in greenery and flowers at a lush garden venue. Another shot in the carousel shows him carrying Beer over his shoulder as she raised her hand to show off her ring — a large, elongated cushion-cut diamond. A rustic wooden sign reading "Mr. and Mrs. Herbert" appears in one of the later frames, alongside photos of the couple kissing, dancing, and smiling.
The pair were first linked in August 2025, when Herbert was photographed at Beer's music video set. Their relationship went public in October, when Beer was spotted kissing the quarterback on the sideline before a Chargers game.

July 28 (Reuters) - As U.S. President Donald Trump intensifies his campaign against diversity programs, appointments of women and racial minorities to S&P 500 boards have dropped to their lowest level in more than a decade, threatening to unwind years of gains in corporate boardroom diversity.
The shift is evident in new research by recruiting firms that study leadership diversity and Reuters interviews with more than a dozen boardroom recruiters, investors and human resource ******* ysts.
It follows a series of Trump administration ‌actions targeting diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives known as DEI. Across corporate America, major investors who once pressed companies to diversify their boards have retreated, while legal challenges have upended DEI policies in recent years.

Miley Cyrus is never one to shy away from a bold, revealing look.
From bikinis to lingerie, the "Flowers" singer, 33, posed in risque photos on the cover of Wonderland's summer 2026 issue.
In the photoshoot, which was shared on Instagram on Monday, July 27, she wears an oversized satin coat jacket from Saint Laurent while shirtless and covering her chest with her crossed arm. Other looks feature the "Hannah Montana" star strutting in a leather jacket while flaunting her tattoos or a one-shoulder ruffle top while slightly revealing more skin.
In another photo, the pop star embraces minimalism as she wears nothing but a Tiffany & Co. necklace and her blonde curls.
She's no stranger to a provocative appearance. At the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, she famously wore a nude-toned two-piece outfit as she twerked on Robin Thicke with a foam finger during a performance of "We Can't Stop" and Thicke's "Blurred Lines. "

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took their two children, Archie and Lilibet, to visit the childhood home of the Duke of Sussex's late mother, Princess Diana, during their recent European vacation, it has been revealed.
Meghan, 44, shared several photos from the family's recent trip overseas on her Instagram account, including one image that show her daughter, Lilibet, 5, walking through the grounds of Princess Diana's family estate, Althorp, holding what appears to be a tiny handbag and a blanket.

Another snap appears to show Meghan reclining on a sun lounger next to the pool at the estate, cuddling the family's Beagle, Mamma Mia, who is thought to have traveled to Europe with them. Spencer's new wife, Cat Jarman, is seen in the background, along with her husband.

Workers daydream of the moment they can clock out of work for good, kick their feet up, and bask in their indefinite downtime. However, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon has just revealed that his retirement will be the second act of his career.
"l'll do business with people I like," Dimon told Axios of his plans for after he steps down as CEO in a recent interview.
"I'm gonna probably write a book, maybe more about management and stuff like that, and I might do one on the financial crisis. There's a lot of stuff that really people don't fully understand about what happened."
The 70-year-old banking giant legend said that teaching is also on the table—a popular gig for leaders with decades of industry expertise. Former General Electric (GE) chief executive Jeff Immelt, who led the $370 billion industrial giant for 16 years, went on to become a lecturer at Stanford's Graduate School of Business. Plus, Dimon threw in the possibility of "something around a media-related thing." No matter what post-CEO career he follows, he'll be kept busy.
"I have got to do something," Dimon said on the Acquired podcast last year. "I'm not going to twiddle my thumbs and smell the flowers."

CHICAGO, July 14 (Chicago) - Civil rights leaders announced plans on Tuesday for a Washington march to defend voting rights, saying recent court decisions have ‌weakened key federal protections against racial discrimination in voting.
The coalition — led by Rev. ‌Al Sharpton's National Action Network and joined by Martin Luther King III, Arndrea Waters King, and labor and civil rights groups — will host the "March on Washington 2026: Defend the Vote" march on August 28. That will mark the 63rd anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom and Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech.
Organizers said they hope to use the event to ‌pressure lawmakers and rally a response to the erosion of voting protections.
The campaign centers on the Supreme Court's April ruling weakening Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, a key provision used to challenge voting laws and electoral maps that discriminate on the basis of race or dilute minority voting power. Organizers said the decision has intensified a long-running fight over Black political representation.

A pair of Maryland baseball’s brightest stars got their flowers Sunday, as Lance Williams and Brayden Martin were both selected on the second day of the 2026 MLB Draft.
Williams was the first Terp off the board — he was selected in the eighth round as the 247th pick by the Chicago Cubs, the same organization where former Maryland standout Matt Shaw is rostered. Williams posted solid numbers in his lone College Park season after transferring from East Carolina following his freshman campaign, striking out 69 batters in 57 innings pitched. While his 6.16 ERA may be cause for concern, the pitcher only allowed three earned runs in his last seven appearances.
Martin, on the other hand, was selected in the 11th round with the 342nd pick by the Toronto Blue Jays. He made a name for himself by mastering the art of walking, recording a program-high 145 walks in his three years at Maryland. He also performed at an elite level with the bat, averaging .314 and logging a .455 on-base percentage during his collegiate career.
The duo’s solid production failed to save the terps from what was otherwise a disappointing season. Maryland finished 15th in the Big Ten with a 9-21 conference record. This offseason remains one of immense importance for head coach Matt Swope as he looks to guide the Terps up the conference leaderboard.
Maryland football offensive lineman Amory Hills earned the eighth-highest PFF pass-blocking grade among all qualified Division 1 linemen.

Jude Bellingham has done it for England, and his impressive display has not gone unnoticed by NFL GOAT Tom Brady.
England are through to the semi-finals, but they didn’t make it easy for themselves. Without the heroics of their star No.10, it could have been a much different outcome for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
It’s two straight knockout games in which Bellingham has grabbed a brace, truly announcing himself as one of the world’s best with this tournament run.
And Brady, who has rarely been spurred to speak out during this World Cup, had to give the England star his flowers.
Brady is an avid soccer fan with an ownership stake in Birmingham City FC. He has certainly been locked into the World Cup — his last post on X was a reaction to Lionel Messi and Argentina’s incredible comeback against Egypt.

Respect around the NFL isn't always measured by statistics or awards. Sometimes, the greatest compliment comes from the players lining up across the field every game day. Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers received exactly that kind of recognition after checking in at No. 71 on the NFL's annual Top 100 Players list.
Most are familiar. For those who aren't, this is a ranking voted on by fellow players. For a young receiver entering his fourth NFL season, it's another sign that his reputation continues growing well beyond Baltimore. Flowers has steadily evolved into the Ravens' top receiving threat since arriving as a first-round pick in 2023.
His speed, route-running ability, and explosiveness after the catch have made him one of Lamar Jackson's most trusted targets while creating problems for opposing secondaries every week. The NFL Top 100 has always carried a little extra significance because it reflects the opinions of players who study film, compete against one another, and understand how difficult sustained success can be. Flowers' placement at No. 71 suggests his peers recognize what Ravens fans have watched over the past three seasons.
Flowers is no longer simply an emerging young receiver. He's becoming one of the league's most respected playmakers. The recognition also arrives at an important time for Baltimore's offense. Flowers has firmly established himself as the Ravens' No. 1 wide receiver.
The organization continues searching for additional production around him. Rashod Bateman is looking to bounce back, while younger receivers like Devontez Walker, LaJohntay Wester, Ja'Kobi Lane and Elijah Sarratt hope to carve out important or larger roles.

Training camp competitions often focus on starting jobs. Who will win the final spot along the Baltimore Ravens' offensive line? Which cornerback earns the nod opposite a returning veteran? Those are the questions that typically get asked this time of year.
Which rookie forces his way into the lineup? Might a veteran be in a fight to hold on to his roster spot? Baltimore has its battles that are worth watching. Zay Flowers is the top man in the wide receiver room. Rashod Bateman enters training camp as Baltimore's projected No. 2, and rightfully so.
When healthy, he's proven capable of stretching defenses and making explosive plays downfield. Still, last season wasn't his best. He missed on-field time, and he never seemed comfortable when he was available. Baltimore's leadership and coaches have expressed full confidence in him after an off-year, as they should. Still, the competition behind him may quietly become one of the Ravens' most compelling storylines over the next several weeks.
That isn't because Bateman's job is necessarily in danger, at least not yet. The larger point is the Ravens suddenly have options, and the veteran may not be able to afford producing another off-year. The Ravens have invested heavily in the position, and the wide receiver competition at camp may soon reflect that.
Veteran Devontez Walker returns looking to build on the experience he gained last season. LaJohntay Wester remains in the mix after continuing to develop within the organization. Then come the newcomers.

Seahawks 24-year-old TE called 'discount George Kittle' by ESPN amid breakout prediction originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.

While the focus was on the defense for much of the year and in the Super Bowl, and Kenneth Walker III, Sam Darnold, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba earned their flowers, there was another key player who deserves some praise.
This player received some significant praise from ESPN's Ben Solak, who said this Seahawks 24-year-old right end is a "discount George Kittle" and is the team's breakout candidate this year. That player? 2024 draft pick AJ Barner.
"We somehow made it through the entire Seahawks Super Bowl run without calling Barner what he is: a rising top-10 TE," Solak writes. "... Barner really is a discount George Kittle..."
