But the two women did see each other once, across a nightclub table, and Burstyn has been carrying the moment around for the better part of six decades.
"I was enchanted just looking at her. USA Rare Earth (NASDAQ: USAR) is a critical minerals specialist that went public through a merger with special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) Inflection Point Acquisition Corp. II in March 2025. The company saw some volatile trading in the months immediately following its debut, but it went on to hit a lifetime high in October of that year following reports that the company was discussing a potential partnership with the White House and rumors that the U.S. government could take a stake in the business.
In January 2026, USA Rare Earth actually did announce that the U.S. government was establishing a roughly 10% ownership stake in the company that could expand to 16% with the exercise of warrants -- but its share price has still fallen far below the high it hit last year. While the U.S. government's desire to increase its ability to source critical minerals domestically and reduce its dependence on minerals from China presents a potentially powerful catalyst for USA Rare Earth's business, the company is still in a relatively early stage of expanding its operations. Along those lines, the company generated just $11.5 million in revenue across the first half of this year. Meanwhile, the mining and processing player has a market capitalization of roughly $4.4 billion.
The company's move to acquire Brazilian rare-earth specialist Serra Verde in a roughly $2.8 billion deal should dramatically expand USA Rare Earth's sales footprint and earnings potential, but the deal being primarily funded with stock also means that shareholders will see significant dilution. USA Rare Earth has growth opportunities on the horizon that could help it bounce back and climb well above its past valuation peak, but investors should approach the stock with the understanding that it's a speculative bet.

Most of the hem falls in a beautifully smooth line, which makes that irregular section all the more noticeable.

One thing I did not have on my bingo card for this festival was Amal in a black dress. She is the queen of summery colour in Venice, so I was surprised to see her take to the red carpet in this custom Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann gown. LOS ANGELES — John Shoemaker is in his sixth straight year managing the Dodgers' Class-A affiliate and his first year in Ontario after the previous five campaigns with Rancho Cucamonga. He'll be at Dodger Stadium on Friday night as part of the annual celebration of longtime employees in the organization.
This is Shoemaker's 50th year with the Dodgers, first as a player from 1977-80 as he was selected in both the MLB Draft and NBA Draft, then as a coach every season since 1981. He was named the Dodgers captain of player development in 2015, and accordingly wears a C on the front of his jersey to this day.
There aren't many things Shoemaker hasn't done within the game of baseball, but come October he can check off another box. He will manage the Glendale Desert Dogs in the Arizona Fall League.
The AFL is the annual showcase of prospects throughout the game, with six Arizona teams comprised of prospects from five MLB teams each. Glendale, which plays its games at Camelback Ranch, the home of the Dodgers and White Sox, will consist of prospects of those two teams plus the Braves, Marlins, and Pirates.
Among the notes for Shoemaker in MLB's press release is that he's had 20 separate winning seasons as a minor league manager and his 1,984-1,863 lifetime record has him third among active minor league managers.

Britain's largest bird of prey, which was once extinct in this country, has been seen soaring in the sky above a city park.
The white-tailed eagle was spotted by a wildlife photographer at Nene Park in Peterborough on Monday morning.
The birds have been gradually reintroduced in the UK since 1975 but inland Peterborough is not one of their known strongholds, so the sighting caused some excitement on social media when photographs were posted.
Karen Aylin said she was "gobsmacked" when she realised what she was filming, and said it was "almost a once-in-a-lifetime" sighting.
