It looks like Victoria Azarenka and Danielle Collins are hanging up their tennis racquets, at least for the foreseeable future.
Both last played at the 2025 US Open. The post 2026 US Open WTA rankings signify 12 months that each has played. Therefore, they earned no ranking points in the past year and are now classified as inactive by the WTA.
MORE: With missteps at the US Open, is ESPN really committed to tennis coverage?
The former WTA World No. 1 from Belarus, Azarenka, has been quiet for the past year with the exception of a couple of social media messages.
The most poignant, on July 31, to commemorate her 37th birthday talked about the contentment she experienced in her life and the ability to spend her birthday with her family, something she could never do as a WTA player traveling the globe for 11 months each year.

The Buffalo Bills will open the 2026 NFL season in a place where they have struggled to find success in recent years: on the road against the Houston Texans, who boast one of the league's stingiest defenses.
Since coming to the Bills as the No. 7 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Josh Allen has led the Bills into Houston four times. And in all four prior matchups, the Bills couldn't pull out the win.
Sunday will mark the third consecutive season where Buffalo has traveled to Houston, and today's edition of Buffalo Rumblinks leads off by sharing the key matchups to watch and positional ***** ysis as the Bills look to snap that streak and begin the season with a big road win over a fellow playoff participant from last season.
Check out the ***** sments below and then let us know your thoughts on the game in the comments section.
Linked below: Breaking down the key story lines to watch, including dissecting the approach new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard will take to contain the Texans; how Joe Brady can better position Josh Allen and the offense for success against a Texans pass rush that sacked Allen eight times in last year's loss; why starting right tackle Spencer Brown thinks things will go much differently against Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter, two of the game's premier pass rushers, now that both Brown and starting left tackle Dion Dawkins are fully healthy; how Greg Rousseau and Bradley Chubb need to generate more pressure on Texans QB CJ Stroud than the Bills have their last two trips to Houston (one total sack); and more!

How much premier talent is on the Houston Texans' roster entering 2026?
In ESPN's most recent projections for who will be the top 100 players in the NFL this season, there are five Houston Texans players who made the list. Four of them were on defense: defensive ends Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter, as well as cornerbacks Derek Stingley and Kamari Lassiter.
Houston's one player on offense who made the list was wide receiver Nico Collins.
The Texans' defense only got better in the offseason with the addition of Jadeveon Clowney. Anderson had 20 tackles for loss, including 12 sacks, as well as three forced fumbles last season, and with the trio of Anderson, Hunter and Clowney, he could hit those numbers again this season, as the entire defensive line will be a handful for opposing offensive lines.
Anderson, who became the highest-paid non-QB in the NFL after a breakout season last fall, appeared at No. 14. The second Texan on the list was cornerback Derek Stingley, who was named an All-Pro last season for the second year in a row.

Four of them were on defense: defensive ends Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter, as well as cornerbacks Derek Stingley and Kamari Lassiter. Houston's one player on offense who made the list was wide receiver Nico Collins.
Anderson was the first Texans player on the list, coming in at No. 15 after his All-Pro season and finishing the year as the runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year. He's also the No. 4 defensive player, trailing only Los Angeles Rams' Myles Garrett (No. 1), Denver Broncos' Patrick Surtain (No. 7) and Green Bay Packers' Micah Parsons (No. 13).
"Anderson has an effort similar to that of players on their rookie deals trying to prove themselves in the NFL. Throughout the course of training camp, he has been extra disruptive," D.J. Bienn-Amie wrote. "He's getting to that point where he realizes if he wants to shut practice down, he can shut it down," defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins said. So, expect a better Anderson after his massive contract extension"
Signature stat: Anderson has the third-highest pass rush win rate in the NFL since entering the league in 2023 (23%). That trails only Micah Parsons (29%) and Myles Garrett (24%) over that span.
After what many would consider to be a breakout year, Bien-Amie predicts for Anderson to take a slight step back, totaling 57 tackles, 11 sacks, 4 forced fumbles and a pass breakup.

A script based on their prom night and friendship has been written by comedians Mary Holland and Lauren Lapkus
Earlier this year, Lance Bass and Danielle Fishel threw it back to 1999 to recreate their iconic prom photo — dress and all.
The longtime friends teamed up again as Co-Chief Cheer Officers for QVC's 39th annual Christmas in July celebration, and they opened up to PEOPLE about recreating their prom photo on the set of Fishel's American Idol Official Podcast in April. Fishel even slipped back into her original prom dress, although it did need a few alterations.

The scene in Bilbao, in 2024, foreshadowed the change that would come. Michele Kang, the owner of OL Lyonnes, strode around the edge of the pitch in the San Mames to greet the travelling supporters of the women's football powerhouse, who were buoyed by her ambition and intent to invest. Barcelona won 2-0 to lift their third Women's Champions League **** le in four years, thanks to goals from their two Ballon d'Or winners Aitana Bonmati and Alexia Putellas. But while Kang, the South Korean-born American billionaire and philanthropist, vowed that Lyonnes would return stronger, her sphere of influence was also primed to have an impact elsewhere.
As well as the French champions, Kang owned two other teams as part of her multi-club Kynisca group, the US side Washington Spirit and the London City Lionesses, based out of Bromley and playing in the second tier of English women's football. Two years on, driven by Kang's vision and fuelled by her deep pockets, London City have secured promotion and undergone a remarkable makeover. From that Champions League final alone, they have signed not just Putellas, making the Spain international and World Cup winner the biggest overseas signing in Women's Super League history, but two of her Barcelona team-mates in Mapi Leon and Jana Fernandez. From sister club Lyonnes, London City have signed two of their starting forwards in Kadidiatou Diani and Delphine Cascarino, as well as midfielder Danielle van de Donk.
Michele Kang celebrates London City's promotion to the Women's Super League in 2025 (Getty)
Within two years, London City have disrupted women's football and have now set their sights on challenging for the WSL **** le. It has not come cheap: Putellas was a free transfer but is one of the highest-paid women's footballers in the world at around £1m per year. Before the new season, London City have also signed former England goalkeeper Mary Earps from Paris Saint-Germain and have built a team set on challenging **** nal and Chelsea's dominance in the capital. In terms of transfer fees within the WSL, only **** nal and Chelsea have come close to matching the £1m London City paid PSG for midfielder Grace Geyoro last summer. Their position is also a unique one. Of the 14 teams in this season's expanded WSL, London City are the only independent outfit with no affiliation to a men's club, yet their spending comfortably exceeds that of Manchester United and Liverpool, despite the riches that flow from the Premier League.
Kang is the driving force. The 67-year-old, who made her fortune through healthcare technology in the US, is an investor in the true sense of the word, believing in the untapped value and potential of women's sports. Her philanthropy has extended to making $30m and $4m donations to US Soccer and USA Rugby respectively, the latter just hours after watching the US women's rugby sevens team win bronze at the 2024 Paris Olympics. London City are likely to make a financial loss in their second season o

An Ohio woman who dragged a DoorDash driver to his death following a fender bender in a grocery store parking lot was sentenced last week to up to 5½ years in prison.
Danielle Henry was handed the sentence after pleading guilty last month to aggravated vehicular homicide in the death of 38-year-old Ibrahim Diakite, WBNS-TV reported.
Henry had just shoplifted and was driving a stolen car when she collided with Diakite in October 2025 at a Kroger parking lot in Westerville.
The incident escalated, authorities said, when Henry fled in her vehicle.

There is no greater gap between the college level of a sport and the pros than there is in football. That's why so many promising rookies struggle in their first year in the league—as the learning curve is steep, with many needing as much help as they can get.
Right or wrong, the Carolina Panthers seem to believe in letting first-round pick Monroe Freeling figure things out on his own. According to Mike Kaye at ESPN, he's blocking one-on-one at a 75-percent rate as the team's starting right tackle this preseason.
Here's Kaye's ****** ysis on Freeling's work from the summer:
Freeling has been thrust into the starting lineup due to two notable absences, with longtime starting left tackle Ikem Ekwonu (knee/PUP) and right tackle Taylor Moton (blood clot/NFI) expected to miss a chunk of the season. Freeling, who has been at right tackle all summer, will serve as a bookend to veteran left tackle Rasheed Walker in the meantime. Freeling allowed two pressures in 12 pass-blocking snaps during his first two preseason games, but he has received little help on that side, with a 75% one-on-one rate, according to NFL Next Gen Stats.
Freeling has had some rough moments, especially in this week's joint practice with the Houston Texans. (But who amongst us doesn't have a rough moment with Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson hunting us down?)

Alberta's Premier Danielle Smith has rejected the idea of slapping export taxes on crude oil exports to the United States in retaliation for the Trump administration's tariff salvo against Ottawa, saying they would be damaging to Canada.
"Although I understand the need to respond strongly to these tariffs, I cannot think of a more disastrous policy decision than cutting off or taxing Alberta's oil to the United States," Smith said as quoted by Global News, adding that the move would trigger a disproportionate tariff response from the United States that could hurt the Canadian economy.
"It would not only extinguish the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of Albertans, it would economically hobble our friends and neighbors in other provinces to the east," she said, warning of millions of jobs getting lost as a result of the tariff war.
Alberta exports about 4 million barrels of crude oil daily to the United States. Last year, the total value of these exports stood at about $80 billion. Trump has so far not threatened tariffs on crude oil coming from Canada but, according to Smith, this could change if Canada itself decides to use oil exports as a weapon in the tariff war.
As for the possibility of threatening the U.S. with a suspension of oil exports, Smith suggested this would be an even worse idea. "The United States would, of course, respond and cut off all gasoline and diesel from their refineries to Ontario and Quebec, right as we turn into fall and winter," she told media.

Gal Gadot was oozing main-character, leading-lady energy as she arrived on the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of Amazon MGM Studios' The Runner, held at Harmony Gold on Thursday.

I was left in awe of her Danielle Frankel Lisbet gown, particularly the thousands of hand-applied, laser-cut satin petals cascading down the body. The technique creates this incredible rippling effect, which amplifies the midnight-blue hue as the light catches each layer.

Then there is that flared neckline. It beautifully frames Gal's shoulders while accentuating the sculpted silhouette of the gown, before those cascading petals continue all the way down to the train.

For those wondering on who will suit up in Game 3 of the preseason, it's the names fighting for roster spots on the Houston Texans.
Texans coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed that said no starters would play in Friday's preseason finale against the Carolina Panthers. Several key backups, including quarterback Davis Mills and defensive Jadeveon Clowney, also will likely rest and begin to prepare for Week 1's matchup against the Buffalo Bills.
This shouldn't come as a surprise since Houston has rarely played starters outside of a quarter in recent years. Given that the Texans usually have two joint practices before games, most of the work is done there, so there's little for Ryans and the staff to see.
This offseason, the Texans were cautious with several key players, electing not to play them at all. Even quarterback C.J. Stroud, who still is looking for a massive contract extension entering the new campaign, only played in one drive, which led to a scoring opportunity for second-year running back Woody Marks.
Most of the defensive starters have not played in any preseason games this year, including Danielle Hunter, Derek Stingley Jr., Kamari Lassiter, Will Anderson Jr., Henry To'oTo'o and Calen Bullock. On offense, David Montgomery, Dalton Schultz and Nico Collins were all sidelined in preparation for the new season.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - It had almost become routine.
Houston Texans edge rusher Danielle Hunter would make a move past a Carolina Panthers offensive tackle. Panthers quarterback Bryce Young would be surveying the field. And Hunter would sack him.
Meanwhile, on the second field, the Texans' offense was having the same success. It started with the offensive line, which gave quarterback C.J. Stroud enough time to carve up the Panthers' defense.
He had two touchdowns on the day, and played turnover-free football.
"We put on a dominant performance today," guard Ed Ingram said. "That's what we came to do."

San Francisco 49ers' owner Jed York was arrested over the weekend. While you might think a team owner being arrested in a trailer park prostitution bust would be a distraction, the 49ers say it is not. Coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that since York has been away from training camp, it hasn't really come up.
"From a football standpoint, it has no effect on us," Shanahan said. "As far as what we do day-to-day, what we talk about. It hasn't been mentioned in a meeting today, it doesn't have to do with what happens on the field. Everything outside of there, I think you guys can judge that better than me."
Veteran linebacker Fred Warner agrees.
MORE: Who is 49ers owner Jed York's wife Danielle Belluomini?
"We're all aware, we all have social media so we see things," Warner said. "But at the same time, I've got a lot of love, a lot of respect for Jed, and don't feel the need to comment on the situation. I think the team was kind of the same way. It really wasn't a conversation being had in the locker room. Of course, yeah, you notice it, but we're so hyper-focused in this building on trying to prepare for Week 1. A lot of guys are on the bubble, trying to make the team. We're just trying to get better as a football team, and letting that personal situation, let it stay personal with him."

Jordyn Woods has given fans the details of the three custom looks worn during her exclusive Malibu wedding to Karl-Anthony Towns.
In a new Vogue video, the socialite and designer shared a behind-the-scenes look at her final dress fitting at Danielle Frankel's Los Angeles studio. On Saturday (August 15), Woods and the Knicks star got married in a ceremony where Justin and Hailey Bieber, Kylie Jenner, Michael B. Jordan and more were in attendance.
Frankel designed a strapless silk wool ball gown for the ceremony, built with a draped bodice and full skirt finished with hand-cut chantilly and corded lace appliques in three distinct shades of ivory. The designer had been developing the lace separately for her own collection before incorporating it into the gown, placing the hand-embroidered appliques to trace the neckline drape and reappear at the waist. Joined by her mother, Elizabeth Woods, and younger sister Jodie, early in the video, Woods complimented Frankel for her "unique eye for detail."
COMPLEX SHOP: Shop the brands you love, anytime and anywhere. Uncover what's next. Buy. Collect. Obsess.
The reception look, a layered chantilly and elderflower lace strapless gown with asymmetric pick-up drape at the hip and a lace bolero, came together organically. "We tried on just the foundation and it felt very safe or simple," Frankel said. "I asked Jordyn to just lift one side so I could see what was going on under the dress. As she was holding it here, the gown draped so beautifully."

Pre-season rarely tells the whole story. It can hint at what is coming, reveal new partnerships and give fans something to obsess over before the points start counting (basically what they've done with Fantasy WSL). But this summer, it has also made one thing clear: the Women's Super League could be very difficult to predict.
London City Lionesses finished their pre-season tour of Portugal and Spain unbeaten, closing with a 2-0 win over Sevilla at Estadio Jesús Navas. Daniëlle van de Donk opened the scoring before Grace Geyoro headed in a second half goal, giving Eder Maestre's side two wins and a draw from three matches.
The result itself matters less than the bigger picture. London City have **** embled a squad that looks capable of testing teams that may have expected a newly promoted side to simply focus on survival.
The club's summer recruitment has changed that expectation.

If there's one thing the Houston Texans don't need to teach Keylan Rutledge, it's physicality.
Playing after the whistle? That could be up for debate.
The fiery first-round pick out of Georgia Tech has been the talk of training camp for all the right reasons. A former guard, Rutledge has transformed into a solid center prospect, winning the starting job as Houston prepares for its first preseason game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
But Rutledge hasn't been afraid to throw it back at the defense after reps, including some of Houston's top players. On the first day of padded practice, he and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair sparred for a second once the whistle blew. He fired back at Pro Bowl defensive end Danielle Hunter earlier this week.
On Tuesday, Rutledge got into it once more, this time sparring with All-Pro defensive end Will Anderson Jr. And unlike Al-Shaair, this continued for several seconds and needed multiple players to break the two up.

NEW YORK/HONG KONG, Aug 11 (Reuters) - Taylor Swift's wedding dress remains under wraps. But wedding chain David's Bridal is already betting brides will want one just like it.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the reveal of the Christian Dior dress Swift wore at her ‌tightly controlled Madison Square Garden celebration on July 3. Meanwhile, the Hong Kong design team at David's Bridal, which owns roughly 200 stores across ‌the U.S., has already sketched about two dozen looks based on the pop star's likely aesthetics, with a focus on Hollywood glamour and drop-waist silhouettes, CEO Kelly Cook told Reuters.
Those preparations will help the brand "move very quickly when we have an idea of where the dress has landed," Cook explained. David's Bridal has already seen an uptick in searches for Swift-inspired designs on its website, which lists dresses ranging from hundreds of dollars to more than $3,000.
Designers say they will be looking out for elements of her outfit that could blossom into bridal fashion trends.

Savannah James and her longtime friend April McDaniel say a pre-booked Hermès shopping appointment in Italy went badly enough that McDaniel later claimed the saleswoman who turned them away was fired.
The wife of LeBron James recalled the encounter alongside McDaniel during the August 7 episode of Danielle Robay's Question Everything podcast. Savannah confirmed that they had an appointment, while McDaniel described confronting the employee after they were initially refused service.
The experience eventually changed dramatically. The women said they were taken into a private shopping room with champagne and caviar while staff brought out merchandise for them to consider, with Savannah recalling, "They brought out everything."
The friends also described a separate encounter at a Chanel boutique in Paris, where McDaniel said a sales **** ociate repeatedly instructed Savannah not to touch a miniature handbag.
McDaniel said she had arranged Hermès appointments while the pair were traveling through Europe, including a stop at the luxury brand's Milan store. According to PEOPLE, McDaniel said they were treated poorly when they arrived and were initially turned away.

An extra-time brace from Remina Chiba secured a 3-1 win for the Women's First Team against Hammarby in Biella.
The win sees the Bianconere through to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Women's Champions League as the champions of the mini-tournament.
The Swedes got off to a flying start and, after just two minutes, Svea Rehnberg went close, only to be denied by Danielle De Jong. The visitors maintained the upper hand in the opening stages, but as the minutes ticked by, Juventus began to take greater control of possession.
In the 22nd minute, Juventus had their first attempt through Estela Carbonell, whose shot went wide. Six minutes later, however, it was Hammarby who broke the deadlock: Rehnberg was on hand in the box and scored from close range to make it 0–1.
Juventus responded, and in the 33rd minute, Alba Redondo went in search of an equaliser, only to be denied by Bella Andersson. In the 38th minute, Emma Stolen Godo tried her luck with a header. Barely a minute later, the score was 1–1: following a sustained attack in the Swedish box, Redondo was quickest to pounce on the ball and beat Andersson.

As the next crop of hallowed names enter Canton, Ohio, as the newest members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, who are the current members of the Houston Texans following a similar path to one day become immortalized?
Three-time Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt will, without question, become a first-ballot Hall of Fame honoree when eligible in 2028, but he's been retired for three seasons. It's about the here and now of players that continue to impress on the field and look unstopabble in their pathway to Canton.
So, who qualifes for Houston?
ESPN's Bill Barnwell recently revealed every team's top players and their chances of having a Hall of Fame career. Several players have just found their footing and need to continue to build off their success to be considered fringe options, but the consistency of Pro Bowler Danielle Hunter throughout his 12-year career has him in the "on the cusp" category entering 2026.
"Hunter's not an obvious candidate, and missing nearly a year and a half in the middle of his Vikings career hurt, but the six-time Pro Bowler is making a beeline for the Hall of Fame with his work over the past three seasons," Barnwell. "Hunter has 114.5 sacks under his belt, 43.5 of which have come since the start of the 2023 campaign. And having entered the league at 20, Hunter's still only 31 years old.

HOUSTON (AP) — Jadeveon Clowney never imagined he'd play for the Texans again when he was traded to Seattle amid a contract dispute before the 2019 season.
But after seven years and six teams the defensive end is back where his career began after re-signing Sunday with the team that picked him first overall in 2014.
Clowney has changed a lot since he arrived in Houston as a 21-year-old.
"I'm grown," he said after his first workout with the Texans Tuesday. "I was a big kid at first when I first got here. I grew up different than a lot of these guys. When I was born, my dad was in jail. I grew up in a single-parent home. I grew up a lot different. ... but coming back now, I'm a veteran in the locker room, a lot older, a lot smarter than I was before."
He joins a defense that ranked among the best in the league in almost every category last season. Houston has stars Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter as its starting defensive ends but could use Clowney as a situational pass rusher after he had 8½ sacks for the Cowboys last season.

Gio Reyna has a new home.
The United States international has spent most of his career in Germany, surging onto the scene as a Borussia Dortmund prospect and most recently suiting up for Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Now, he is headed for France, joining RC Strasbourg on a contract that will take him through the 2031 season.
While still only 23, Reyna has appeared in each of the last two World Cup tournaments for the United States – though his lack of minutes in the 2022 tournament became a controversial moment after conversations between Reyna's parents – former U.S. internationals Claudio and Danielle Reyna – and then-U.S. manager Gregg Berhalter were made public.
Reyna was included on Mauricio Pochettino's roster for the 2026 tournament and was able to make the mildly surprising decision pay off, scoring with the outside of his foot to put the cherry on top of the United States' 4-1 win over Paraguay in the opening match.
