According to a report from L'Équipe, Mamadou Sangaré (24) has left RC Lens's squad as he closes in on a move to Brentford FC.
The Mali international was with the Lens squad in Italy as they participated in the Como Cup, albeit he was not involved in the two matches on Tuesday. He'll also no longer be available for the friendly against Villarreal on Saturday, as he has travelled to Paris ahead of the transfer to the Premier League side being finalised.
The midfielder, who arrived last summer on a €5m plus €3m in bonuses move from Austrian side Rapid Vienna, is set to break transfer records for both Lens and Brentford in a reported €48m transfer. He'll be Lens's biggest ever sale and Brentford's largest ever purchase.
In his sole season in the north of France, Sangaré was one of the standout performers, helping Lens win their maiden Coupe de France and secure automatic qualification to the UEFA Champions League after running Paris Saint-Germain close to the ******* le.

Italian talent Mattia Liberali scored a stunning goal in a Como friendly against Villarreal last night and explained why he picked Cesc Fabregas' side over a return to Milan: 'Since the very first call, I immediately understood their strong interest in me.'
Fabregas' Como played two mini friendlies last night, facing Saudi Arabian side Al Ula and Spanish club Villarreal for 45 minutes each.
The Azzurri beat Al Ula 3-1 but then lost on penalties to Villarreal after a 1-1 draw.
Summer signing Liberali scored a fantastic goal at the far post, giving Como the lead against Villarreal.
At the end of the match, he told Sportitalia: "I came here to support and help my teammates. I know it won't be easy, and we'll have to give our all. Training after training. Right now, I want to have fun and learn as much as possible from anyone, coach and teammates alike. I hope I can help them too during the whole season."

Cesc Fabregas warns Como could be forced to play the Champions League with 'a squad of 16-17 players' due to their limitations, but welcomes new signings Mattia Liberali, Luis Milla and Kaiki.
The Lariani were in Serie B just two years ago, but now find themselves preparing for the biggest competition in club football after finishing fourth in Serie A last season.
This sudden ascendancy has caught them a little off guard, and means that there will be some strict limits on just who can play in the Champions League.

"We have the UEFA list limits, so because we don't yet have a youth academy capable of providing certain things, we'll find ourselves in the Champions League with only a squad of 16-17 players," said Fabregas in a press conference.

Como coach Cesc Fabregas has welcomed the return of Roberto Mancini to the Italy job. 'I always liked him, since Manchester City. He's a winner and plays good football.'
The decision was finally made today to appoint Mancini to the **** onale, three years on from when he walked away from the role the first time to take over the Saudi Arabia national team instead.
Following offers to Carlo Ancelotti, Pep Guardiola and Andrea Pirlo, the choice of Mancini feels to some like a step backwards rather than trying to modernise Italian football.
However, Fabregas disagrees with the **** sment, insisting it is a positive move for Calcio.

Connor Thomas got thrown to the wolves on Monday night, and the Mets' broadcast booth could barely stomach watching it happen.
The Braves reliever was left in to twist against New York's lineup long after the outcome had been decided, and by the time Atlanta finally mercy-killed the outing, Thomas had been shelled for 11 earned runs — the most any reliever has allowed in a major-league game in more than half a decade — according to MLB.com's Anthony DiComo.
His final line read: 2 2/3 innings, 10 hits, 11 runs, five walks, two strikeouts, three home runs, 78 pitches.
As Gary Cohen mentioned on the SNY broadcast of New York's 14-3 win, Atlanta had ground through five consecutive one-run games in the days before Monday, and rather than burn another arm in a game that was already lost, the Braves made the call to sacrifice Thomas to the baseball gods.
The 28-year-old left-hander — a Tifton, Georgia, native and Georgia Tech product who made his MLB debut with the Brewers back in 2025 — had only been summoned from the minors about two days prior. He's never been treated as a top prospect, and he entered Monday having not thrown more than 70 pitches in a single appearance since he was a starter for St. Louis' Triple-A Memphis affiliate back in September 2023 — more than 1,000 days ago.

Luis Robert Jr. doesn't want to be traded by the Mets.
"To be honest, I'd like to stay here," Robert told Anthony DiComo of MLB.com on Monday. "I don't like those types of moves or trades that just happen in the middle of the season and you have to move around fast."
Whether he prefers to stay in Queens with the Mets, Robert needs to brace for a trade.
Outfield is the least of the Mets' problems as the focus shifts to next season and beyond. With phenoms A.J. Ewing and Carson Benge blossoming into everyday players alongside superstar Juan Soto, it would be a surprise if the Mets picked up Robert's $20 million club option for next year. There's no spot for him to get consistent playing time.
Therefore, since Robert must be treated like a player on an expiring deal, the Mets will look to get as much back for him as they can. Bob Nightengale of USA Today used the word "desperate" to describe how badly the Mets are trying to move Robert this week.

Como remain firmly in the race for Trevoh Chalobah, with fresh talks scheduled with Chelsea on Saturday 25 July as the clubs attempt to reach a final agreement over the defender's future. According to Sky Italia, discussions are ongoing and the key issue continues to centre on the structure of the fee.
The broad outline of the negotiations is clear. Chelsea want £30m guaranteed to sanction Chalobah's departure, while Como are currently holding at around £25m, with a preference for part of the package to be tied to appearances and performance-related objectives. That gap is not vast, but it remains significant enough to prevent an immediate conclusion.
Como's recruitment drive has included a strong focus on adding quality at centre-back, with the club looking to provide Cesc Fabregas with a proven option in defence. Chalobah has emerged as the leading target, and this latest round of discussions suggests the Serie A side are serious about seeing the move through.
Photo IMAGO
From Chelsea's perspective, the stance is understandable. Chalobah is coming off a productive campaign in which he made 34 Premier League appearances and scored three goals, while also featuring eight times in the Champions League. Those numbers reflect both availability and trust, two attributes that naturally strengthen his market value.

Italian side Como have submitted an improved formal offer to Chelsea for versatile defender Trevoh Chalobah, with direct negotiations ongoing to finalise an agreement. Xabi Alonso is at Stamford Bridge.
The ambitious Serie A club have structured a new proposal worth a guaranteed €25 million, plus €5m in performance-related add-ons. Crucially, the add-ons are understood to be highly attainable, effectively ensuring the total fee reaches €30 million to satisfy Chelsea’s valuation.
This move follows an earlier opening bid from Como that fell short of Chelsea’s expectations. While the Blues hierarchy initially held out for a premium fee for their academy graduate, this upgraded, nearly guaranteed arrangement has significantly narrowed the valuation gap between the two clubs.
From the player’s perspective, Chalobah is said to be very keen on a move to Lombardy. The 27-year-old English defender is attracted by the sporting project under manager Cesc Fabregas, where he would be guaranteed a central role in the defence. Having spent recent seasons on the fringes at Chelsea, Chalobah sees a move to Italy as the ideal opportunity to re-establish himself as a regular starter.
Negotiations between Chelsea and Como remain active as the two clubs work to finalise the details of a deal. With personal terms not expected to pose any obstacle, given the player’s eagerness to join Fabregas’ side, momentum is building toward a swift resolution in the coming days.

The thing I hate about this time of year is that it means the entire soccer world becomes an Umberto Eco novel. Every little thing is weighted with significance, evidence of some larger narrative that only the most psychotically semiotic can follow. Speculation becomes rumor becomes fact until everything spirals out of control. Sweaty access merchants like Fabrizio Romanò breathlessly publish statements from agents as "news" as if there's the quid isn't vastly outweighed by the quo. It's discouraging to sift through and infuriating to write about. And alas, I have to wade into this meritless swamp to write about Moise Kean.
Let's start with the basics. Kean is in his prime at 26. He's under contract at Fiorentina until 2030 after extending last summer despite months of speculation. He's Italy's best striker and the only guy who came out of its failed World Cup qualifying campaign with an enhanced reputation. 2025-2026 was a down year at domestic level (8 Serie A goals in 26 appearances) as he dealt with ankle and calf injuries that sapped his effectiveness all year as well as a team context that polluted everyone it touched. ****** ody thinks that version of the Moose is the real one, although his outrageous 2024-2025 is probably the ceiling rather than the norm.
As Fiorentina's best player, he was always going to be a popular grist for the rumor mill this summer. New DS Fabio Paratici is tearing this squad down to the foundation, ruthlessly excising anyone with the slightest odor of Daniele Pradè in his quest to reduce the wage bill. Having nearly set the club record for most expensive transfer window in the opening fortnight of the transfer window and with numerous additions pending, he needs to find money somewhere. Kean's the highest-paid guy on the roster and its most saleable ****** et. The math is simple.
Besides being simple, the math also just got cheaper. Kean's extension last summer contained a €72 million release clause that extended for 365 days. It's now expired, intensifying speculation that he could be on the move. The consensus price that the Viola would accept hovers around €40 million. I'd say that's about reasonable, although perhaps a bit on the low side, especially factoring in Paratici's need to balance the books after spending €90 million already. And hey, he already sold Kean at Juventus in 2019 for €30 million.
Speaking of big transfer fees, Como's reportedly at the window, fueling speculation that the nouveau rich Lariani might make a bid for the striker. On the surface, it adds up: Tasos Douvikas was excellent last year but Kean represents a step up in quality from the Greek international, while Álvaro Morata is 33 and on the wane despite his popularity with his teammates. Como also needs to add more players trained in Italy to meet UEFA's registration rules for the Champions League (unless the plan is to ignore those like it does FFP). Never mind the reporting that Como's only vaguely interested; something must be

Chelsea have hit a snag in their efforts to offload Trevoh Chalobah this summer.
According to Alfredo Pedulla, the Blues have reached out to Como to revive negotiations for the England international, but reaching an agreement will be difficult.
The 27-year-old is also attracting interest from Serie A champions Inter Milan.
However, Chelsea have been forced to explore other options after the Italian giants temporarily paused their interest in Chalobah.
At the moment, Inter and Como are the clubs mostly interested in Chalobah, meaning the Englishman is more than likely to end up in Italy this summer.

Como have been very active, but also need to whittle down their squad, as Felipe Jack joins Cremonese, Southampton want Ivan Azon, while Club Brugge and Freiburg target Yannik Engelhardt.

Fútbol became real life for Cristo Fernández on Saturday night.
The "Ted Lasso" actor went from the fictional pitch for AFC Richmond to taking the field for El Paso Locomotive FC of the United Soccer League. Facing New Mexico United, Fernández entered the game as a substitute for Rubio Rubín in the 79th minute of the Locomotive's 2-0 defeat in a USL Cup match.
El Paso and New Mexico were in a scoreless tie until the 85th minute when Joseph Quiah scored in the left corner for United. Zico Bailey found the net four minutes later on a cross from Jake LaCava for a 2-0 lead. Attendance for the match was announced at 5,011.
Locomotive FC announced on Wednesday that Fernández was added to the club's 18-man matchday roster for a home game at Southwest University Park versus New Mexico.

Thursday's reports claim that Juventus are open to the idea of welcoming Dusan Vlahovic back to the club after the expiry of his contract on June 30, but only on the conditions laid out by the club's new CEO Giovanni Carnevali.
Vlahovic is currently a free agent after seeing his contract with Juventus expire at the end of June.
The Bianconeri had tried for over a year to get the Serbia international to commit to a new deal, but they were ultimately unsuccessful under the reign of former CEO Damien Comolli.
During the final year of his Juventus contract, Vlahovic was the highest-paid player in Serie A with a net salary of around €12m. The Old Lady were always aware of the fact that they would need to convince the striker into taking a pay cut if a renewal were to go ahead.
Despite months of back and forth, an agreement was never reached and Vlahovic is now available on a free transfer.

Real Madrid academy product Mario Gila is set to sign for AC Milan as Lazio and the rossoneri have already finalized an agreement for the player’s transfer. Milan will pay the Rome-based side €30 million, half of which will go directly to Real Madrid.
Real Madrid has brought in a substantial amount of money this summer transfer window through the sales of several academy products. The Spanish club have already earned €60 million from Nico Paz’s transfer to Como, €20 million for Víctor Muñoz, who moved from Osasuna to Liverpool, €12.5 million from Álvaro Rodríguez’s transfer from Elche to Bournemouth and €3.5 million for Mario Martín’s move to Getafe.
Real Madrid originally transferred Mario Gila to Lazio in 2022, with the Italian club paying €6 million for 50% of his rights. Los Blancos kept the remaining 50%.

Lazio left-back Luca Pellegrini could end up in the Premier League, with Hull City and Ipswich Town among his suitors.
The 27-year-old is a childhood Lazio supporter who realized his dream by joining his beloved club in January 2023. This season, he finally had a run in the starting lineup, with Maurizio Sarri dropping Nuno Tavares to the bench. However, the Portuguese ended up recovering his place in the starting XI towards the end of the season, so Pellegrini found himself on the bench again.
With only one year left on his contract, the Roman is expected to be sold this summer, especially following the arrival of Alfonso Pedraza, who completed a free transfer from Villarreal.
According to La Repubblica (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Pellegrini has several admirers on the market, especially outside Italy. The newspaper reveals interest from the newly promoted Premier League duo of Hull City and Ipswich Town. In Spain, the left-back is well-liked by Espanyol and Celta Vigo.
Pellegrini was previously linked with Serie A sides, but Como had already signed a new left-back in Kaiki, while others would struggle to match his salary (circa €1.5 million per year). The Italian full-back made 90 appearances for Lazio in total, producing seven **** ists and only two goals, but he arguably scored the club’s best goal of the previous campaign

It’s not all about the World Cup—there have also been other news stories worth highlighting.
In a recent interview, the Real Sociedad captain admitted that he has no intention of leaving the club of his life, despite rumors linking him with Barcelona.
Following Nagelsmann’s departure, Germany is looking for a new national team manager, and the leadership of the German Football Federation is already heading to the United States to speak in person with Jürgen Klopp, who, for now, would be willing to listen to the proposal.
At this point, there is little doubt that Bayern’s French star will continue wearing the Bavarian club’s colors, but if there were any remaining doubts, Upamecano made sure to put them to rest.
Despite the World Cup, the transfer market never stops, and the latest name on the table is Trevoh Chalobah, who is being linked with a move to strengthen Como’s squad.

Real Madrid have struggled to blood products from La Fabrica into the senior team over recent years, but they have become highly successful in selling them on to other top clubs in Europe. The production line at Valdebebas is operating successfully, and has now become a regular visit for scouts.
The success stories of Nico Paz, Rafa Marin, Chema Andres and Jacobo Ramon have alerted many clubs to the possibility of getting a talented youngster on the cheap, due to Los Blancos policy of selling low and then retaining a sell-on fee. Como, who signed both Paz and Ramon, in particular have taken an interest. The next to depart could be Victor Valdepenas, who made his debut under Xabi Alonso in December at left-back.
Valdepenas, who can at left-back or centre-back, is blessed with plenty of pace, and was attracting interest even last summer before his senior debut. As reported by Gianluca di Marzio, and carried by MD, Serie A side Bologna are interested in signing him. At 19, and with three years left on his contract, it would be no surprise to see Real Madrid cash in on Valdepenas, who already has plenty of experience with Castilla, and is probably ready for the jump up in level. Unless Jose Mourinho makes it clear he will use Valdepenas, he may also want more chances.
Valdepenas is unlikely to be short of options this summer though, with a number of big clubs having previously enquired about him. Last summer Borussia Dortmund held talks with Valdepenas, and for a significant portion of this season, ******* nal have been said to be following his progress. Valdepenas may well have a pick of destinations.
