Real Madrid's academy continues to prove one of the club's greatest financial ****** ets.
With Gonzalo García's move to Fulham now agreed and Cesar Palacios expected to follow soon, Los Blancos are closing in on €200 million generated from academy player sales this summer alone, smashing every previous club record, reports AS.
The figure had already surpassed the previous benchmark of €102 million, set in the summer of 2017. Now, with more departures still expected before the transfer window closes, the total could rise even further.
Gonzalo has become one of the biggest academy sales in Real Madrid history.
The striker is set to join Fulham in a deal worth €40 million plus a further €2 million in bonuses, with the club selling 70% of his sporting rights while retaining a 30% stake.

As reported by AS, Fulham are closing in on the signing of Real Madrid youngster Cesar Palacios, with negotiations accelerating significantly over the past 24 hours.
An agreement is now believed to be close, with both clubs making rapid progress as they work to finalise the transfer.
Unlike the more complicated talks between the two clubs surrounding Gonzalo Garcia, Palacios' move is considered much simpler and could be completed first.
The structure of the deal is expected to mirror Real Madrid's increasingly common strategy with academy graduates.
Rather than sanctioning a full sale, the club's preferred option is to sell 50% of Palacios' economic rights while retaining significant control over his future.

La Liga giants Real Madrid are closing on an agreement to part with an up-and-coming member of the club's ranks in the middle of the park.
This comes amid the understanding that César Palacios is inching towards a move to the Premier League, with Fulham.
Palacios, for his part, is a 21-year-old midfielder, whose name will likely be familiar to those of a Real Madrid persuasion. The starlet spent much of last season in and around the first-team setup at Valdebebas, culminating in six senior appearances between La Liga and the Champions League.
And his efforts, both at academy level and under the bright lights of the Bernabéu, evidently proved enough to impress one of Palacios' former managers.
It was recently confirmed in the Spanish media that Álvaro Arbeloa, after being named new head coach of Fulham, was eyeing a reunion with his compatriot in England.

Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare has hit out at “inaccurate” reports that he forced training to be cancelled by refusing to leave the pitch.
It was suggested that Arokodare had sat down at the club’s training ground on Monday and demanded that they let him move to Fiorentina.
Arokodare was left out of Wednesday’s friendly against Maidenhead United by new manager Cesar Peixoto, with Wolves reported to have accepted an offer from Trabzonspor in Turkey – but rejected a possible deal with Fiorentina.
Arokodare signed for £24m from Genk last summer and scored three times in his first campaign as Wolves were relegated from the Premier League.
"I was very surprised and disappointed to see the media reports today, many of which were inaccurate,” Arokodare posted on social media. “Throughout my career, I have always taken great pride in conducting myself professionally and maintaining the highest training standards.

As it gets closer to the 2026 Arizona high school football season, The Arizona Republic ranks the top 10 stadiums.
They don't have to be the best teams. They feature an ambiance, a prestige, a history, a look that stands out among the 200-plus schools in the state.
Named after deceased former coach Tot Workman, this was the first football domed stadium built in America on a high school campus. It opened in 1991 at a cost of $11 million and has been used for several sports, including track and field. It's got a majestic look 8,000 feet above sea level in the White Mountains. It's worked out well because of the harsh cold weather that can come through in the fall and winter. It seats about 5,500 fans.
It's no longer Cesar Chavez on the stadium in Laveen (the school has been renamed), but Cactus Canyon has that old-school look that stands out. It was obviously modeled after Montgomery Stadium, which was demolished in 1987 and was once the home field for Phoenix Union, which closed in 1982.
Cromer Stadium is something out of the 1940s, tucked in the pines in Flagstaff. The school opened in 1967, but the grandstands were built in the 1940s. In 2018, Flagstaff and Coconino played their rivalry game at Cromer, marking the 50th anniversary of Coconino's first state football championship. Usually, the big rivalry game is played at Northern Arizona's Walkup Skydome.

Damian Pinas vs. Cesar Almeida squared off earlier tonight (Sat., July 11, 2026) at UFC 329 LIVE on Paramount+ from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. In an incredible knockout, Pinas stopped his opponent with a single right hand late in the first.
Outside of one brief wrestling exchange off a caught kick, this was entirely a kickboxing match in small gloves. Theoretically, this would favor Almeida, the veteran with more than 50 professional kickboxing matches. In reality, it was competitive the entire time. Almeida was a little slicker with his movement and setups, but Pinas hammered the lead leg and was coming very close with his nuclear right hand early in the fight.
In the closing seconds of the first round, he found the mark, planting his right directly on the chin to counter an inside low kick. “The Baba Yaga” tried to score the walk-off KO, but the referee forced him to throw one more strike before intervening.

Wow … Pinas has incredible power. It’s still very early in his professional and UFC career, and there are still a lot of unknowns about his overall game, but can anyone deny that kind of one-hitter quitter power? He just smoked a world-class kickboxer at his own game, proving himself as a serious Middleweight prospect.

UFC 329 is live this Saturday (July 11, 2026) from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV and streamed exclusively on Paramount+ (watch here). The main event needs little introduction. It's Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway 2, a rematch thirteen years in the making (but at Welterweight, not Featherweight). It’s hardly a surprise but now it’s official. Fiorentina announced this morning that Lucas Beltrán has been loaned to River Plate for a €500,000 fee with an obligatory purchase option around €6.5 million, according to Diario Olé. Cesar Luis Merlo adds that the Viola will get 50% of his next move. Beltrán has signed a contract that runs until 2030 and has already linked up with River in Alicante for preseason training.
It’s a disappointing close to a chapter that opened with major expectations. Beltrán was bought from River back in 2023 for €20 million with the expectation that he’d fill the Dušan Vlahović-shaped hole at center forward. While he was sporadically productive—a string of 7 games straight with a goal or ***** ist in 2024—it became immediately apparent that he isn’t a traditional center forward so much as an energetic number 10. He pressed well but his movement off the ball, holdup play, and inability to beat his man meant that he didn’t score. 16 goals in 98 appearances tells the whole story.
That wasn’t all Beltrán’s fault, of course. His scoring numbers were, in hindsight, a product of the fantastic ecosystem Marcelo Gallardo created at the Monumental. He was always a clunky fit up front, lacking the shooting to be a 9 and the creativity to be a 10. I still think he’d thrive in a deeper role, where his energy and intelligence would let him serve as an off-ball threat and a pest out of possession, but that’s purely academic.
It felt like el Vikingo’s days were numbered when he was loaned out to Valencia last summer. His time with los Murciélagos was more of the same: he finished with just 3 goals in 30 appearances (and just 1 in league play). That wasn’t enough to convince Carlos Corberán to make the move permanent, setting the stage for this homecoming.
Beltrán should fit right in at River. His 5 years at the club means he should slot right back in even though he’s never worked with new manager Eduardo Coudet. He’ll link up with fellow Viola exes Germán Pezzella and Lucas Martínez Quarta and should push for a starting job in Coudet’s 4-4-2. River Plate came second in the Apertura and will hope to challenge for the Clausura, so Beltrán will be playing meaningful games that could lead to silverware. If it goes well enough, he could even elbow his way back into international contention.

In a recent report, Tuttomercatoweb mentioned that Chelsea are hoping to re-sign Torino midfielder Cesare Casadei . It has been claimed that the Blues have set their sights on recruiting the Italian talent this off-season.
Casadei enjoyed a good run of form at the Italian club in the previous campaign when he put in a run of impressive displays for them in the middle of the park. The 23-year-old scored seven times in 36 matches for Torino last season across all competitions.
The Italian sensation is currently one of the most talented midfielders in his homeland. Thus, it is no surprise that Chelsea are keen on bringing him back to Stamford Bridge later this year.
His current contract at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for the Blues to sign him this off-season.

Cesar Palacios is widely regarded as one of Real Madrid's brightest prospects. A regular for Castilla, the 21-year-old attacking midfielder made his first-team debut last season under Alvaro Arbeloa.
However, coming into the summer, the young La Fabrica prospect is looking at an uncertain future, with Arbeloa being replaced by Jose Mourinho as the new manager.
Now, according to AS, Palacios will take part in pre-season with Mourinho's first team, hoping to convince the Portuguese coach that he deserves a place in the senior squad.
A return to Castilla is no longer considered part of the plan, and with Dani Ceballos departing and Real Madrid ruling out Nico Paz's return, the academy graduate believes there is a genuine opportunity to earn a role in the first team.
This comes after the 21-year-old has changed representation at a pivotal moment in his career. The attacking midfielder has left Stellar Group to join Best of You as he prepares for what could be a decisive summer regarding his future.

Panama face England at the New York/New Jersey Stadium on Saturday evening, already eliminated from the 2026 World Cup and playing their final group game with nothing but pride at stake.
Two competitive 1–0 defeats to Ghana and Croatia have confirmed their exit. The Canal Men have not scored in either match and remain without a point at this World Cup. Against the most technically accomplished side they have faced at this tournament, breaking that duck will require something close to perfect.
Thomas Christiansen has a near-complete squad available but is without his two most influential midfielders. Adalberto Carrasquilla has not featured at this World Cup due to an adductor injury and suffered a further setback before the Croatia match. With nothing at stake in this fixture, Christiansen has no reason to rush him back.
Captain Anibal Godoy — Panama’s all-time appearance record holder with 160 caps — has managed just one minute of regular action at this tournament through lack of match fitness and is unlikely to start here.
In their absence, the midfield four of Cristian Martínez, Carlos Harvey, Yoel Bárcenas and José Luis Rodríguez is expected to continue in front of a disciplined back five. Amir Murillo operates as right-wing back alongside César Blackman on the left.

"Who wouldn't want to see Memo Ochoa?" he said during Mexico's media availability at el Centro de Alto Rendimiento. "He's a legend. But that's a decision that El Vasco will have to make tomorrow."
Such is the question facing manager Javier Aguirre 24 hours ahead of the group stage finale against Czechia. Does he give Ochoa the nod, a symbolic sendoff for the 40-year-old national icon playing in his sixth World Cup? Or does he stick with the bulk of the lineup that he's rolled with for the first two games, giving them one more chance to finally gel before the knockout rounds?
Nevermind the fact that Czechia's playing to avoid elimination. Nevermind the fact that Mexico's chasing history; if El Tri beats Nároďák, they'll finish off a sweep of Group A and accumulate nine points for the first time in the country's 18 World Cup appearances.
Aguirre fielded several questions from the press at Estadio Azteca on Tuesday afternoon that boiled down to his plans for the lineup — and for Ochoa — in one way or another. MEXICO CITY, June 19 (Reuters) - Mexico City's government said on Friday it is considering measures to limit the sale of alcohol in ‌public ******* es, after over 700,000 people gathered downtown to celebrate Mexico's ‌soccer team advancing to the knockout stage of the World Cup.
Mexico's victory against South Korea saw massive street celebrations, with fans dressed in green Tri jerseys or wearing colorful Lucha Libre masks and dancing in the rain, waving flags, singing anthems and blowing on vuvuzelas.
The next morning, Reforma Avenue - one of the city's main arteries - was ‌littered with trash and many ⁠of its yellow cempasuchil flowers had been trampled over. Authorities collected some 40 tons of waste around the historic center.
Mexico ⁠City's government secretary Cesar Cravioto told a press conference that part of the government's duty of care during the massive soccer event is prevention and this involves controlling illegal sales of alcohol on the streets.
Cravioto said the government would ask restaurants ‌and bars in the area to prevent customers from taking alcoholic drinks off premises and that convenience stores nearby could be asked to stop selling alcohol in the hours before a big game.

Mexico defeated South Korea by a 1-0 score to become the first team to qualify to the knockout stages of the World Cup. The win also won Mexico the Group, which means for the first times since 2002, Mexico won their Group in a World Cup. Better yet for the first time since 1986, Mexico will play the third match knowing they have the ticket to the next stage and for the first time in history they will play it knowing they won the Group. It was an historic win in a match that Mexico was better even when it wasn’t the most aesthetically pleasing victory. Mexico will close out their group stage on Wednesday against Czechia.
The 1st half started with Mexico making only three changes from their opener. Luis Romo and Jorge Sanchez would start instead of Alvaro Fidalgo and Israel Reyes. Meanwhile Edson Alvarez took the spot of suspended Cesar Montes. From outside the area, Roberto Alvarado got off a left footed shot that was easily saved by Kim Seung-gyu, South Korea’s goalkeeper. From outside the area, Brian Gutierrez got off a weak right footed shot that was easily saved by Seung-gyu. A longball into the area found Son Heung-min, who lobbed the shot over Mexico’s goalkeeper, Raul Rangel. Before it went into the line, Alvarez made a wonderful bicycle kick save and although the play would be ruled as offside (and wouldn’t have counted had it gone in), it was a great play from Alvarez. A great cross into the area from Alvarado would find Julian Quiñones, who got off a good header but Seung-gyu made a wonderful save on it. While Mexico had been the better team, it was a very even match with few chances from both sides. A good cross into the area was just missed by Raul Jimenez when he tried to head it. Seol Young-woo got the ball in the area but his left footed shot went wide. South Korea started to gain more possession although Mexico did well to contain them and have them not be able to create chances. A cross into the area was just missed by Lee Jae-sung. The halftime whistle blew as the crowd booed, mad that although Mexico started as the better team, they gradually gave the ****** le up and South Korea finished as the better side.
The 2nd half started with neither team making a substitution. Off a great counter, Gutierrez made a thru pass that found Jesus Gallardo, whose left footed shot went wide. A cross into the area was badly cleared by South Korea and Seung-gyu tried to get to the ball but crashed into defender Lee Gi-hyuk, leaving the ball into the path of Luis Romo, who get off a shot past him and into the net to score and give Mexico the 1-0 lead. It was a great start for Mexico in the 2nd half and a great moment from Romo, who went to Qatar 2022 but didn’t play a minute but right now was making history as one of Mexico’s World Cup goal scorers. South Korea subbed out Son Heung-Min and Lee Jae-Sung for Oh Hyeon-gyu and Hwang Hee-chan. Mexico had once again the better team although the match evened out after their good start to the half. Cesar Peixoto is starting work as the new Wolves manager.
The former Portugal international has replaced Rob Edwards at Molineux on a two-year contact.
This will be Peixoto's first experience of English football having managed exclusively in his homeland where he took Gil Vicente to sixth place in the Primeira Liga last season.

Alisson and Ederson have joined the list of Brazilian goalkeepers called up to three World Cups for the national team. Having been part of the 2018 and 2022 editions and this year’s World Cup, they join the group made up of Gilmar Neves, Taffarel, Dida, Júlio César, Carlos, and Waldir Peres.
Wearing the No. 1 shirt, Alisson has played nine World Cup matches, five of them at the 2018 edition in Russia and four in 2022 in Qatar. He is the fourth goalkeeper with the most appearances for the Seleção at World Cups. He trails Júlio César, with 12 matches, Gilmar Neves and Emerson Leão, tied on 14, and the leader in the statistic, Taffarel, with 18 matches.

Mexico ended their preparations for the 2026 World Cup by crushing Serbia in their final friendly by a 5-1 score. Mexico completely dominated the match and bounced back after Serbia got an early lead, to make it 3 out of 3 in their last friendly tour. Mexico will now face off a week for now against South Africa in the 2026 World Cup opening match.
The 1st half started with Mexico coming out with Raul Jimenez up top for the first time in the last friendly tour prior to the World Cup. A low right footed shot inside the area from Brian Gutierrez forced a save from Serbia’s goalkeeper, Filip Stankovic. A cross into the area was headed from close range by Julian Quiñones forced and incredible save from Stankovic. A great back heeled pass from Jimenez allowed Gutierrez to get into the area but his right footed shot went wide in a bad miss. After a bad mistake from Jesus Gallardo gifted the ball to Petar Stanic, he was allowed to get into the area and get off a right footed shot past Mexico’s goalkeeper, Raul Rangel to score and give Serbia the 1-0 lead against the run of play. Mexico had completely dominated the match but a bad mistake allowed Serbia the shock lead. After getting the ball in the area, Jimenez got off a right footed shot that was well saved by Stankovic. A great combination play between Alvaro Fidalgo and Gutierrez ended with the ball left there for a close range volley shot from Quiñones but it went wide in a bad miss. Off a corner kick, the cross into the area found Cesar Montes but his header went wide. A cross into the area from Gallardo would find Jimenez but he whiffed on the left footed shot. The ball would then fall to Gutierrez but his left footed shot was blocked wide. In the ensuing corner kick, the short pass would find Gutierrez, who got a good cross into the area where Johan Vasquez would get a close range header that went past Stankovic and into the net to score and tie the match at 1-1. It was another set piece and another headed goal from Vasquez, who had doubled the amount of goals he scored for the NT in a week. A great cross into the area from Gallardo would be missed by Jimenez. A shot from outside the area by Quiñones looked like it forced a save from Stankovic although the referee ruled it had gone wide without a touch by the goalkeeper. A cross into the area was wonderfully volleyed by Jimenez but right to Stankovic. A back pass by Stefan Bukinac was terribly misjudged by Stankovic and the ball would go in for an own goal to give Mexico the 2-1 lead. The own goal was given to Bukinac but the mistake had been totally on Stankovic. The halftime whistle blew and although Mexico only had a one goal lead, they had completely dominated and deserved a bigger lead.
The 2nd half started with Mexico subbing out Erik Lira for Edson Alvarez. Serbia subbed out Petar Stanic, Nikola Tulic and Lazar Randelovic for Dejan Zukic, Mihailo Ivanovic and Veljko Birmancevic. Jimenez would get the ball in the area and get off a left fo
