GREEN BAY, WI — Up the Lambeau Field tunnel No. 5 Notre Dame trudged, followed halfway through the season opener Sunday against seemingly overmatched Wisconsin by an unwelcome companion.
A partner that wasn't supposed to be part of the plan at any point this season, certainly not the first game. Not 30 minutes into a campaign that many believe will have Notre Dame chasing its first national championship since 1988.
That companion that rode shotgun back to the Irish locker room? Doubt.
At least for one half, Notre Dame left too much of it. The Irish did not follow the mantra of head coach Marcus Freeman. Remember? Leave No Doubt, the fifth-year head coach, preached in spring.

NEW YORK, Sept 5 (Reuters) - From podiums to practice courts and player lounges, dogs have become some of tennis's most popular support acts, increasingly earning places in the travelling party and popping up at ‌the sport's biggest stages.
For players who spend most of the year in airports, hotels and tournament venues often ‌thousands of miles from home, pets have become common travelling companions, offering comfort and stability in a sport where loneliness is a major challenge.
"Animals are amazing... that's why a lot of the girls are travelling with more pets now, because of how tough the life is on the road," world number three Jessica Pegula told reporters at the U.S. Open this week.
"To have something that grounds you, as simple as having a dog or any type of animal... you don't experience that type of love from anybody else. They love you unconditionally and that ‌can just really help emotionally."

Revolution Medicines, Inc. (NASDAQ:RVMD) received FDA approval for Rasonque, or daraxonrasib, following an expedited review. The once-daily oral RAS inhibitor is approved for adults with metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma who have received at least one prior systemic therapy or are not candidates for multiagent systemic therapy.
Revolution Medicines, Inc. (NASDAQ:RVMD) set a wholesale acquisition cost (WAC) of $39,800 for a 30-day supply. Twelve 30-day supplies would total $477,600 at WAC before discounts, rebates, or ******* istance. Rasonque is available in the United States, with (ON)Path offering insurance navigation and financial-assistance resources, including copay support for eligible commercially insured patients.
The approval was based on RASolute 302, a randomized Phase 3 trial involving 500 patients with previously treated metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma. In the overall population, median overall survival reached 13.2 months with Rasonque versus 6.7 months with chemotherapy. The hazard ratio of 0.40 represented a 60% lower hazard of death during trial follow-up. Median progression-free survival was 7.2 months versus 3.6 months, while objective response rates were 30% and 11%, respectively.
The survival benefit gives Rasonque a strong clinical argument for reimbursement. Pancreatic cancer is aggressive, treatment options after progression are limited, and Rasonque improved overall survival, progression-free survival, and response rates in a randomized comparison. Oral dosing may also reduce the burden of intravenous chemotherapy.
The approved population is broader than a single mutation-defined subgroup. Rasonque can be prescribed with or without an identified RAS tumor mutation and does not require a companion diagnostic. That reduces testing friction within the approved treatment setting.

US-based money-transfer platform Felix Pago has raised $200m in a funding round to support its expansion beyond remittances.
According to a Bloomberg report, the company intends to move into financial services such as lending and savings for Latin American immigrants living in the US.

Shirley was accompanied by a female companion, whose arm she held as she carefully made her way down a step from the restaurant's outdoor terrace.
The Terms of Endearment star appeared relaxed during the low-key outing, which comes just four months after she celebrated her 92nd birthday on April 24.

The new study, trumpeted by the New York Times with a companion article suggesting that OSHA should get involved, regarding CTE rates in pro football likely won't alter in any major way the realities of or participation in the sport, at all levels. Unless and until CTE can be diagnosed in living patients, football players will continue to embrace the vague (but real) risk of developing cognitive problems later in life.
But the data could provide ammunition for one specific aspect of the game. It could fuel an effort to move the touchback point on kickoffs from the 35 back to the 30.
Last year, when the touchback changed to the 35 and teams became incentivized to put more kickoffs in play, concussions spiked. Specifically for the player returning the kick and the player tackling him.
The league is well aware of this reality. And the question is whether the NFL becomes content to have fewer returns in the name of having fewer high-impact hits for two of the 22 players on the field during a kickoff play.
And while the current kickoff play dramatically reduces the possibility of the one potential outcome the league never says out loud (catastrophic neck injuries leading to potential paralysis or death), it presents a clear risk of increased concussions. As one source put it, it was "the elephant in the room" at the annual league meetings in March.

Zoetis Inc. (NYSE:ZTS) entered 2026 as a leader in animal health, but its latest earnings show that even a strong market position cannot fully insulate the company from weaker consumer demand. Fiscal Q2 2026 revenue remained flat at $2.5 billion and declined 1% on an organic operational basis, as pressure in the U.S. companion-animal market offset growth in livestock and international markets.
The quarter therefore presents investors with two different versions of Zoetis (NYSE:ZTS), as an established companion-animal business facing near-term pressure and a diversified animal-health platform still investing in its next generation of products.
Zoetis's (NYSE:ZTS) diversification provided an important source of resilience during the quarter. Livestock revenue increased 12% on a reported basis, supported by cattle and poultry products. In the United States, livestock sales grew 23% on both a reported and organic operational basis in the quarter, benefiting from favorable beef-cattle economics, supply timing, and increased poultry-vaccine sales **** ociated with disease outbreaks.
International performance was also encouraging. Revenue outside the United States rose 8% on a reported basis and 6% organically to $1.2 billion. International companion-animal sales grew 5% organically, supported by parasiticides such as Simparica Trio, Revolution and Stronghold, as well as diagnostics and newer osteoarthritis treatments. This geographic contrast demonstrates that the weakness was not uniform across Zoetis's (NYSE:ZTS) business. Demand for its products remains healthy in several markets, even as U.S. pet owners become more price-sensitive.
However, innovation could provide another route back to growth, as Zoetis (NYSE:ZTS) says that its pipeline contains more than 12 potential blockbuster candidates across chronic kidney disease, oncology, cardiology, anxiety, and obesity. The company also launched Lenivia and Portela, long-acting osteoarthritis treatments offering dogs and cats up to three months of pain relief from one injection.

Wendy Williams used a rare public appearance in New York City to deliver another unmistakable message about the court-ordered guardianship that has controlled major parts of her life since 2022.
The former daytime host was photographed walking through Manhattan on Aug. 19 with shopping bags and a male companion when a photographer asked what she wanted fans to know about what she was going through. "I want out!" Williams replied, according to Page Six.
The outing was Williams' first widely reported public sighting in approximately six months, following her appearance at her father Thomas Williams' funeral near Miami in February. Photos from the New York outing showed the 62-year-old walking outside before entering a building.
Her three-word response came amid an ongoing legal fight over an arrangement she has repeatedly said she wants terminated. Williams has disputed claims about her capacity while her medical history and competing evaluations have become central to the debate over whether the guardianship should continue.
Williams gave a much fuller explanation of her position during a March 2025 appearance on The View, joining the hosts by phone alongside advocate Ginalisa Monterroso. She rejected the characterization that she was incapacitated and said she wanted control over her affairs returned to her.

South African authorities announced that former ***** list Zolani Tete, 38, was fatally shot outside of his home in Mdantsane today.
Per the country's Ministry of Sport, Arts, and Culture, "[t]wo armed men in balaclavas" shot Tete and a female companion as Tete waited at his gate. The companion remains hospitalized, while Tete himself passed away.
Tete lost his first ***** le bid to countryman Moruti Mthalane in 2010, kicking off a 3-3 skid, but came out the other side on an absolute tear. He felled Teiru Kinoshita in hostile territory to claim the IBF super flyweight ***** le four years later, then knocked out Paul Butler in his first and only defense before moving up to 118. There, he won the later-upgraded interim WBO belt against Arthur Villanueva and made three successful defense, one of which earned him the fastest knockout in championship history when he sparked Siboniso Gonya with his very first punch. An upset loss to John Riel Casimero lost him the belt, but after two years on the sidelines and a 55-second get-well knockout in South Africa, he put himself right into super bantamweight contention by blowing the doors off of Jason Cunningham.
That would unfortunately mark his final time in the ring. A failed drug test for stanozolol wiped that win off his record and resulted in a four-year suspension, which only expired last month.
Tete will be remembered as a terrific, hugely accomplished fighter, highly entertaining and a true standout in the lower weight classes. Our thoughts are with his friends and family after this horrific tragedy.

An investigator revealed that Princess Diana would have been alive today if she had made a different choice. FOX's "Celebrity Crime Scene" used recreation technology to recreate the unfortunate Paris tunnel crash that ultimately claimed Diana's life on August 31, 1997. For those unversed, Diana was accompanied by her companion, Dodi Fayed, and their driver, Henri Paul, and she was only 36 years old at the time of her death.
Host and investigative crime journalist Jakson Buhaj, alongside British forensic psychologist Kerry Daynes and former U.S. Secret Service agent Rich Staropoli, revisited the tragic death on FOX's "Celebrity Crime Scene", special documentary.
Buhaj explained that had Diana done one thing differently, she might have possibly survived the fatal crash. He remarked: "It's very odd that no one was wearing a seat belt. You would think that [Dodi Fayed's bodyguard] Trevor Rees-Jones, who was sitting in the front seat directly ahead of Diana, would caution her that she should definitely put a seat belt on, considering the car is driving way over the speed limit. Yet no one thinks to do that."
Notably, three of the four people in the car, including Diana, passed away in the fatal car crash. Dodi Fayed's bodyguard, Rees-Jones, survived but suffered brutal injuries. There were rumors that Rees-Jones survived because he was wearing a seat belt. Investigators later revealed that wasn't the case. The official British inquiry concluded that none of the occupants in the car were wearing a seat belt when it crashed.
Buhaj continued to insist that wearing a seat belt would have saved the former Princess of Wales' life. "What I think is the most tragic thing about this is that, had everyone been wearing their seat belt, unfortunately, Henri Paul and Dodi Fayed probably would've passed away, but Diana most likely still would've been with us," he added.

Brown Advisory, an investment management company, released its "Brown Advisory Global Leaders Strategy" for the second quarter of 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. Brown Advisory's Global Leaders Strategy delivered a net return of 4.6% in the second quarter of 2026, underperforming its benchmark, the MSCI ACWI Net Index, which returned 14.9%. The relative weakness was driven mainly by underexposure to semiconductors and technology hardware, while software, cloud services, and financial holdings also weighed on performance. The strategy benefited from holdings in areas tied to AI infrastructure, with semiconductor exposure and AI-related investments gaining from strong demand. Looking ahead, Brown Advisory sees an attractive environment for active stock-picking, with its ready-to-buy list at its highest level since the COVID-19 period and an estimated 12%-13% average five-year base-case IRR, while maintaining a focus on quality, valuation discipline, and long-term cash-flow generation. In addition, please check the Fund's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Brown Advisory Global Leaders Strategy Fund highlighted stocks like Zoetis Inc. (NYSE:ZTS). Zoetis Inc. (NYSE:ZTS) is a global animal health company developing medicines, vaccines, and diagnostic products for livestock and companion animals. The one-month return of Zoetis Inc. (NYSE:ZTS) was -3.62% while its shares traded between $71.47 and $160.48 over the last 52 weeks. On August 7, 2026, Zoetis Inc. (NYSE:ZTS) stock closed at approximately $77.27 per share, with a market capitalization of about $30.02 billion.
Brown Advisory Global Leaders Strategy Fund stated the following regarding Zoetis Inc. (NYSE:ZTS) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
We exited Zoetis Inc. (NYSE:ZTS) in May. We were attracted to the investment due to its position as the largest pure-play animal health company, benefiting from significant scale in R&D and as the highest-quality marketer to veterinarians and livestock producers, which increases switching costs. The company had further shifted its business mix meaningfully toward a higher and more profitable contribution from its companion animal segment. Our investment in Zoetis began to face increased growth headwinds in 2025 due to incremental competition in its industry-leading dermatology and Simparica Trio products. Additionally, the launch of Librela—the first available therapy for osteoarthritis pain in dogs—underperformed our expectations. Furthermore, we have observed increased competition across Zoetis's main franchises and, most recently, Zoetis also saw generic competition in therapeutic categories. Several concerns have emerged: (1) despite the high barriers to entry in animal health, competition in the sector has intensified during our ownership; (2) we do not have enough visibility on their pipeline to ***** s the path of future contribution at this point; and (3) we

Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT) just landed one of the largest single contract awards in its history. On July 29, the Department of War handed the defense giant a seven-year, up to $53.86 billion undefinitized contract action for PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement interceptors, pushing the total multiyear deal to $58.62 billion once the $4.7 billion awarded back in April is added in. That is not an error, which raises a clear question: what is driving this level of demand?
The answer starts with real-world consumption. Fewer than 800 Patriot missiles reportedly remain in US inventories, a stockpile a CSIS report pegs as having lost 65% of its prewar 2,330 count during the Iran conflict, leaving roughly four years of production at the old pace to cover what got burned through in under three months of fighting. Lockheed is responding by tripling PAC-3 MSE production capacity by the end of 2030 and growing its Camden, Arkansas workforce from 1,200 to about 1,850 employees. This is Lockheed's second major multiyear award under the Department's Acquisition Transformation Strategy, following the $35 billion THAAD contract, and the company is backing it with $8 billion to $9 billion in facility investment through 2030, including new munitions centers in Troy, Alabama and Camden.
A cheaper companion missile, the PAC-3 Adapted Capability Effector priced around $2.5 million versus MSE's roughly $4 million, is being positioned as complementary rather than a cannibal of MSE volume, meaning it adds revenue instead of splitting it. Layer in the $3.5 billion Ultra Maritime acquisition that expanded Lockheed into undersea defense, and a business already generating $75.1 billion in FY2025 revenue, up 5.7%, with $6.9 billion in free cash flow and a net margin near 6.7%, looks like it is compounding its core strength rather than searching for a new one.
The flip side of that strength is dependency. Roughly 72% of 2025 sales came from the US government, and the F-35 program alone accounts for about 27% of revenue, meaning any shift in Washington's spending priorities or a program delay would hit Lockheed harder than a diversified industrial company. The balance sheet carries real leverage too, with debt to equity near 3.2x and a current ratio of just 1.1x, leaving a thinner liquidity cushion than investors might expect from a company this size.
Lockheed is also fighting a $4.25 billion lawsuit over alleged technology misappropriation and regularly defends against cyberattacks aimed at its sensitive intellectual property. And when Lockheed first unveiled the cheaper PAC-3 ACE missile, investors sold the stock off on fears it would eat into MSE margins, a worry the company disputes but one that shows how sensitive the market is to anything touching this contract's economics.

Ryan Seacrest flew a Dutch model to a private yacht this summer. Insiders say he is smitten. Ryan Seacrest and Maxime Nova have seemingly moved fast. Sources say the romance turned serious months ago.
A television host booked an entire twelve-person yacht for two people, then flew his companion out by private jet to meet him. People close to him say the pace of the whole thing has surprised everyone watching.
Ryan Seacrest has fallen hard for a Dutch model, and several people close to him say the romance turned serious faster than anyone expected, Page Six exclusively reported.
Maxime Nova, 34, holds his full attention these days. "He is completely besotted with her. And she feels the same about him as well," a source tells the outlet. "They are head over heels."

Kristin Cavallari's Mallorca vacation photos prompted another round of questions about her relationship with Southern Charm cast member Austen Kroll.
Kroll appeared alongside Cavallari and several friends in one photograph from the trip, leading some Instagram users to ask whether the carousel represented a romantic "hard launch."
Cavallari had already addressed that possibility in an Instagram Story filmed earlier in the vacation. After turning the camera toward Kroll, she described them as "just friends" and said she wanted to get ahead of the inevitable speculation.
The two reality television personalities have faced dating rumors before, but both have repeatedly described their relationship as a friendship.
Cavallari traveled to the Spanish island with longtime friend and celebrity hairstylist Justin Anderson, Kroll and several other companions. Images documented sightseeing stops, waterfront meals and time spent near the sea. Page Six described the Mallorca visit as part of Cavallari's European summer vacation with Anderson and other friends.

Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A) just extended its diagnostics franchise into one of oncology's toughest corners. On July 23, the company said European regulators had certified its PD-L1 IHC 22C3 pharmDx test, Code SK006, as a companion diagnostic for epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube, and primary peritoneal carcinoma. That lets pathologists flag patients who might benefit from Merck's Keytruda. It is a narrow, technical-sounding approval, but it adds up to something bigger: Agilent's diagnostics business keeps racking up new indications while competitors scramble to keep pace.
Bull Case: A Diagnostics Machine That Keeps Adding Indications
This is now the eighth CE-marked indication for the 22C3 pharmDx ****** ay in the EU, following FDA approval of a related PD-L1 test (28-8 pharmDx) for esophageal and gastric cancers just nine days earlier. Each new label doesn't require Agilent to build a new product; it just extends the reach of an ****** ay already running in labs worldwide, which is a high-margin way to grow. Agilent has also been adding inorganically, closing its acquisition of Biocare Medical in June to deepen its clinical pathology reach, the same market where this new ovarian cancer approval lives. Together, the pipeline of regulatory wins and the acquisition strategy point to a company compounding its diagnostics footprint one label at a time rather than swinging for one blockbuster product.
Bear Case: A Crowded Diagnostics Field With A Scarier Neighbor
Companion diagnostics is not Agilent's alone to win. Danaher Corporation (NYSE:DHR), through its Leica Biosystems unit, competes directly for the same pathology lab budgets and just agreed on July 14 to acquire StatLab Medical Products to strengthen its own histology and AI-pathology pipeline. Danaher's own stock cratered 14% on July 21 after it trimmed its core revenue growth outlook, even though it beat on earnings and raised its profit forecast.

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit have spent years trying to turn a modest island cabin into a showcase of Norwegian design — an ambitious renovation that stalled just as it was about to break ground. Now a storm named Amy has done what years of royal scandal couldn't: it forced their hands. The tempest tore apart one of the docks on Flatholmen, the tiny island the couple has owned since 2008. The damage has produced the first real building permit the property has seen in years — not for the glass-and-timber dream house long promised, but for a humble pier.
Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette- Marit at Nordstu- Solberg farm in 2024 (Getty Images)
According to Norwegian outlet TV2, the municipality of Risør has cleared the crown prince and princess to rebuild the storm-wrecked dock. It's a modest approval, capped at six square meters, but it matters; without a working dock, the island is barely reachable, and any future revival of the couple's long-shelved architectural project would need one regardless.
The permit came with a catch. A companion request — for a seaside platform of the kind common along Norway's coast — was withdrawn after the state administrator recommended against it. The dock itself only cleared because of an unusual technicality: one of Flatholmen's existing moorings is used by police, which let the municipality authorize a second access point without setting a precedent for other landowners. Haakon and Mette-Marit will cover both the construction and the roughly $575 in municipal fees themselves. Notably, the original dock — built sometime between 1982 and 2004 — never had a formal permit at all, so this approval is being processed as new construction from scratch.

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — David Cifaldi and his two hiking companions were crossing Montana's ominous Froze-to-Death Plateau and approaching the top of the state's highest peak when their adventure took a bizarre and dangerous turn: Cifaldi slipped and impaled himself on his trekking pole as he fell.
The 44-inch (112-centimeter) steel-tipped pole passed through the flesh beneath Cifaldi's left arm, missing any vital organs, and protruded from his back. After conferring with his friends — and considering the high cost of a helicopter rescue — Cifaldi knew who would save him: himself.
"I was like, 'We've got to get off this mountain.' And they're both like, 'I don't know about that,'" Cifaldi said of his friends' initial reaction. "I'm pretty confident this is outside my chest wall. 'Tis but a flesh wound."
The 32-year-old nurse, who works in wound care at a hospital in Billings, Montana, did a self-assessment. He was alert. There was little pain or blood. And the pole wasn't moving. The group used a satellite-based communication device, a Garmin inReach, to contact local authorities and inform them of their plan to self-rescue.
Then they started hiking out. They carefully descended from the plateau along an unmarked route, navigating through boulders and snowfields before bushwhacking their way to an established trail.

Julie Andrews smiles alongside her beloved poodle, Shy, in the 1950s.
Singing along with Julie Andrews while she rehearsed for "My Fair Lady" was one of her dog Shy's favorite things. Andrews was performing eight shows a week in London in the late 1950s, so every day she'd play her piano to run scales and vocalize — and the grey poodle felt it should be a duet.
"It was adorable," Andrews said. "She'd lift her little chin and nose and just really gargle away in a real proper note. Eventually — it was adorable but very distracting — she could actually come down the scale as I came down the scale."
If Andrews tried putting her dog in another room of their apartment, she'd spy Shy's little nose poking under the door until she relented and let the spirited dog rejoin rehearsal.
Her constant companion also frequently accompanied Andrews to the theater when it was showtime.

The S&P 500 index rebounded in the second quarter, achieving a 9.6% return for the first half of the year, while Moon Capital Management's equity portfolio gained 4%. The firm remains cautious about large AI investments and their potential return on investment. In addition, please check the Strategy's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Moon Capital Management highlighted Zoetis Inc. (NYSE:ZTS) as a newly added position. Zoetis Inc. (NYSE:ZTS) is an animal health company focused on animal health medications, vaccines, and diagnostic products. On July 22, 2026, Zoetis Inc. (NYSE:ZTS) closed at $74.19 per share. One-month return of Zoetis Inc. (NYSE:ZTS) was -4.66%, and its shares lost 51.45% over the past 52 weeks. Zoetis Inc. (NYSE:ZTS) has a market capitalization of $31.1 billion.
Moon Capital Management stated the following regarding Zoetis Inc. (NYSE:ZTS) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"We added one new stock to the portfolio last quarter, Zoetis Inc. (NYSE:ZTS). (Our average purchase price was about $73.20/share.) Zoetis is the world's largest pure-play animal health company. We have long viewed Zoetis as one of the highest-quality businesses in healthcare (albeit for mostly four legged patients), and the company has generally been valued accordingly. However, temporary concerns around slower companion animal growth and increased competitive pressures created an opportunity to purchase the company at an attractive price. After trading above 30 times earnings for much of the past decade, Zoetis now has a P/E of less than 11x, a valuation we believe significantly understates the quality, durability, and long-term earnings power of the business.
The animal health industry is attractive as it combines the defensive characteristics of healthcare investing with a more favorable industry structure than traditional pharmaceuticals. In contrast to human healthcare, a significant portion of animal health spending is paid directly by owners, which reduces reimbursement pressure. The industry also benefits from lower research and development costs, shorter development timelines, and strong relationships with veterinarians. These relationships, combined with regulatory barriers and specialized technical expertise, create meaningful switching costs and contribute to long product lifecycles..."
