Ohio State has inked a jersey patch sponsorship deal with JPMorgan Chase, sources tell On3. The Buckeyes become the latest college football brand to add a jersey patch ahead of the 2026 season.
The deal spans the full athletic department and all 36 varsity sports. The investment also provides new resources to support Ohio State athletes through NIL opportunities, enhances the Buckeyes' overall competitive success and facilitates academic partnerships across the university.
Ohio State becomes one of the biggest college football brands to date to add a jersey patch to its uniform. The JPMorgan Chase logo will sit above the Big Ten patch on the front of Ohio State's jerseys.
JPMorgan Chase has a longstanding relationship with central Ohio, as one of Columbus' largest private employers. The firm has brought on more than 1,700 Ohio State alumni in the past five years, too. The deal was brokered by Learfield.

La Familia advanced to the Alumni Bracket championship after knocking off Boeheim's Army on Sunday afternoon, but would have to wait until Monday night to figure out who their next opponent would be. Now, we officially know who La Familia will face off against, and it's an old friend that UK has a ton of history with: The Kansas Jayhawks (JHX Hoops).
JHX Hoops took down the defending champs from Wichita State, also known as the AfterShocks, on Monday night, 64-59, with a big-time 3-pointer as the dagger by former Wooden Award winner Frank Mason III.
Zeke Mayo (Kansas 2024-25), who transferred in from South Dakota State, where he had quite the collegiate career before making his way to Lawrence. In the game versus the AfterShocks on Monday, he led JHX Hoops in scoring with 25 of his own.
Kentucky and Kansas have a ton of history in college basketball, facing off a grand total of 36 times, with the Cats coming out victorious in 24 of those games. So now it's only right that the two face off in another level of basketball in The Basketball Tournament.
Wednesday's matchup will decide which TBT team will be the champion of the Alumni bracket and ultimately face off against the Non-Alumni bracket champion for $2 million.

The Winnipeg Jets, another team Hutchinson played for during his NHL career, made the announcement of the goalie's retirement at age 36 official on their social media.

On August 13th at 10 a.m and 11 a.m. at Hillside Elementary, Flyers alumni accompanied by their beloved mascot will visit to celebrate the Flyers Hooked on Hockey program. The alumni will lead free ball hockey clinics for the elementary campus, as well as equipment, drills, and games.
Each participating camp will receive a full set of ball hockey equipment to keep games going season-long. Campers will also receive information on how to register for the Flyers Rookie Kids Club and Flyers Learn to Play program, plus a special ticket offer for a Flyers home game during the 2026–2027 season.
Gritty — a beloved figure across the Delaware Valley since his 2018 debut — will appear at each location, greeting campers between clinic sessions. The Flyers will also bring inflatables, including a "shoot on goal" challenge.
"Getting kids into sports early is about so much more than the game itself," said Bryan Ford, ******* ociation Sports Director at the Greater Philadelphia YMCA. "When a child picks up a stick, they're building confidence, teamwork, and healthy habits that last a lifetime. We're incredibly grateful to the Philadelphia Flyers for sharing their time, their alumni, and yes, even Gritty, to give our campers a first taste of a sport they might fall in love with," Ford said in a press release.

The Milwaukee Brewers are commemorating 25 years of American Family Field with an alumni Game July 24, but fans might find it curious that the team itself is wearing retro hats from before the building even opened.
The hats actually have nothing to do with the Brewers celebration, and it'll last through the three-game series against the Colorado Rockies.
The Brewers will wear the M-B hats this weekend as part of a Hall of Fame weekend celebration across Major League Baseball. All 30 teams will participate, though the hat of the Brewers' opponent won't look too dissimilar from what it typically uses now. The "CR" logo will be the same, but in the context of an all-purple used by the franchise from 2003 to 2012.
The "M-B" logo ("Motre Bame" if you prefer, since it's similar to a classic Notre Dame logo) didn't last long in Brewers history, worn from 1994 to 1996 before the Brewers adopted a simple M on their cap throughout the rest of the '90s. Both hats were part of the green, gold and blue motif along with the "crossed bats" primary logo that lasted from 1994 to 1999, an era that didn't feature any winning seasons for the Brewers.
No, no Hall of Fame players ever wore the M-B hat for the Brewers, not even on the coaching staffs. Rod Carew served as hitting coach one year too late.

The college football playoff is the all consuming driver in the sport now. There's no way around it, and we have nothing to blame except for everyone. Conferences, networks, fans, coaches, politicians, alumni… everyone is to blame for trying to make the CFP bigger than the sport itself. We've lost sight of what we are and what we have been for decades.
Don't get me wrong — I too enjoy the college football playoff, but not once have I ever uttered with meaning that it's more important than the season itself. There's a difference.
Still, there is so much tied into the CFP that it's no big mystery as to why programs start doing stupid things — which brings me to the New Age Cowards. It doesn't matter of it's a southern California surfer bro or a Texas panhandle oil bro… the bros are running scared.

After Monday, this was shocking.
Former Lobo Vance Jackson hit seven 3-pointers and scored a game-high 29 points to lead The Enchantment, a UNM and NMSU alumni basketball team, to a stunning 74-68 win over the Aftershocks, a team of Wichita State alumni, on Thursday night in Game 2 of the best of three TBT opening round series in Wichita's Koch Arena.
The decisive Game 3 in the first round of the $2 million, winner-take-all tournament is Friday at 7 p.m. MT (8 p.m. CT in Wichita). The game will be broadcast on either FS1 or FS2.
In Monday's Game 1, the defending champion Aftershocks blew out Enchantment, 98-77, in a game that wasn't even as close as that 21-point deficit suggested.
Thursday night, Jackson scored 17 of his 25 by halftime and Enchantment led 34-33 at the break — three days after a game in which they trailed by 48-22 at the half and by as many as 26 points in the third quarter.

Team Wisco and general manager Gord Ash didn't go with perhaps the obvious choice in making the first pick of the Milwaukee Brewers Alumni Legends Game, a selection made at the Saint Kate hotel in downtown Milwaukee on July 23.
A fleet of former Brewers players will be on hand at American Family Field for a three-inning alumni showcase July 24, following the Brewers' regularly scheduled game against the Colorado Rockies, which starts at 3:10 p.m. CT. Former Brewers general manager Doug Melvin (Team Milwaukee) and his top **** istant, Ash (Team Wisco), selected the teams a day in advance, with former coaches Garth Iorg (Team Wisco) and Ed Sedar (Team Milwaukee) serving as managers.
Ryan Braun was on the board, but Ash went with a player he called "the former Ohtani" in selecting Yovani Gallardo, the ex-Brewers standout pitcher who could also hit a little bit during his tenure with the Brewers from 2007-2014, with 12 career home runs.
With the chance to draft six position players, two catchers and seven pitchers, there's a boatload of value in a pitcher who can do a little work in the field. A later-round pick for Brooks Kieschnick demonstrated further how much Ash had this in mind.
Melvin and Sedar quickly snapped Braun up with their first-round pick. "I'm going to have to tell him the game's only three innings," Melvin said. "He didn't start hitting in the clutch until the seventh, eighth and ninth inning, so I'm a little worried."

Florida track & field is sending seven Gators to compete at the 2026 Toyota USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships, which will take place July 23-26 at Icahn Stadium in New York.
After wrapping up her freshman season, Claire Stegall is set to compete in the women's 1,500-meter run, with the semifinal round scheduled to begin Thursday at 5:52 p.m. ET. Stegall is coming off a strong summer after winning gold at the 2026 USATF U20 Championships with a school-record time of 4:04.59. She also qualified for the U20 World Championships, scheduled for Aug. 5-9 in Eugene, Oregon.
Other Gator representation includes alumni Pjai Austin, Claire Bryant, Malcolm Clemons, Marquis Dendy, Talitha Diggs and Parker Valby.
Austin will compete in the men's 100 meters, while Diggs will race in the women's 400 meters. Bryant and Valby will compete in the women's long jump and 5,000 meters, respectively, while Clemons and Dendy will compete in the men's long jump.
The championships will air on NBC, Peacock, and USATF.TV for the entirety of the championships.

Pete Golding was in attendance at SEC Media Days on Wednesday and spoke with reporters.
He gave a passionate speech about tampering in college football, but his more interesting answer was about how he approached quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and running back Kewan Lacy about staying with the Rebels after former head coach Lane Kiffin infamously left for LSU.
Golding’s quote was targeted at Kiffin, but more in the eyes of creating a legacy and what it means for the players’ future, per ESPN’s David Hale.

La Familia, the Kentucky Wildcats alumni squad, went into game two against The Ville at this year's TBT (The Basketball Tournament) looking to sweep the best-of-three series and move on to play for the $2 million prize. They came out of the game with a lot of questions after an 82-62 loss where the Kentucky alumni squad struggled to get their former players on the court.
Willie Cauley-Stein was suffering from an injury, but tried to give it a go. However, a couple of names expected to play, Archie Goodwin and Marcus Lee, didn't make it, leaving them short-handed. That helped The Ville to a blowout win on Monday night.
After the game, Aaron Harrison, former Wildcats great, took to X to voice his disapproval with how things played out.
Goodwin took exception and answered back, saying "The fact that yall ******* uming I just left the guys hanging without even knowing my situation is crazy. Stop always thinking of yourself. I got more to my life than just basketball!" Things have since calmed down and Goodwin is expected to play in Wednesday's deciding game. Getting him back is a big deal, as he led the team in scoring last year.
Game three will be played at 6:00 P.M. in Lexington. It should be an intense game, with a lot on the line between two rivals.

LAWRENCE — The alumni teams for Kansas basketball and Kansas State will play again Wednesday, during the 2026 The Basketball Tournament event.
A three-game series began Tuesday, with Kansas State's Purple Reign team collecting an 80-61 victory. Kansas' JHX Hoops struggled offensively over the course of the matchup, only shooting 38.5% from the field. Purple Reign shot 51.7% from the field.

This second game will take place at 7 p.m. (CT) and be televised on FS2. It'll be played at Lee Arena in Topeka. If necessary, there'll a a third game Friday back at Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, where the first game was played.

In the first game, La Familia came out hot but cooled down at the end and was able to escape a nail-biter.
In the second game, it was an absolute blowout from the second quarter on.
There’s been quite a lot of controversy surrounding this team, and based on the second game, a lot of the players that were supposed to play could’ve helped them out tremendously. The lack of size and a pure scorer is something Marcus Lee and Archie Goodwin could immediately solve.

TRENTON, New Jersey — Gov. Mikie Sherrill built her political brand around her time piloting helicopters for the Navy.
As New Jersey's governor, she isn't in the ****** pit anymore. But she's a frequent flier.
Sherrill flew aboard a State Police helicopter eight times over roughly three months, according to records obtained by POLITICO. In one instance, the records show, Sherrill used a State Police helicopter to fly from New Jersey to Maryland to attend a "black-tie" alumni event at the Naval Academy, her alma mater.
Access to the helicopter is one of the perks of being New Jersey governor, albeit an expensive one. As of 2021, it cost taxpayers approximately $2,500 an hour for the governor to use the State Police helicopter, according to press reports.
Prior New Jersey governors have faced scrutiny over use of the state chopper, especially when it is not explicitly for state business. Democratic former Gov. Jim McGreevey used it for personal trips, which resulted in the New Jersey Democratic State Committee agreeing to reimburse the state $18,200. Republican former Gov. Chris Christie was ensnared in "choppergate" in 2011 when he arrived at his son's high school baseball game in a State Police helicopter. He and the New Jersey Republican Party reimbursed the state $3,300 days later, but the flights raised questions around his image as a fiscal hawk.

NASHUA — Aiden O’Connell has settled into a summer routine.
The Bedford resident and pitcher starts once a week for the defending New England Collegiate Baseball League champion Keene Swamp Bats. On his off days, O’Connell does mobility training, throwing sessions and watches baseball with his teammates.
“That’s really the best part,” said O’Connell, a lefty who pitched the Swamp Bats to a 2-1 exhibition win over the Nashua Silver Knights of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League on Monday night at Holman Stadium. “It’s been a pleasure being here.”
The seven-inning bout was the first ever between the state’s only summer collegiate baseball teams and the inaugural game of the “Granite State Showdown.” The teams will meet again on Tuesday, July 28 at 6:30 p.m. at Alumni Field in Keene.
O’Connell, who allowed one run and struck out seven over five innings against Nashua, said the routine has been beneficial.

Ahead of NFL training camp, a slew of Wisconsin Badgers alumni linked up at NX Level in Waukesha, WI.
TMJ's Karley Marotta highlighted the reunion as the likes of TJ Watt, Zack Baun, Hunter Wohler, Chimere Dike, Riley Nowakowski, and more reunited with the 2026 NFL season right around the corner.
"It's cool to come back to Wisconsin and know you're going to get good work being at NX Level, and great company and good workout partners with everyone that comes back," Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Zack Baun said.
Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Riley Nowakowsi added, "You know back here, all these guys, we played together and everything."
The 24-year-old called it a "family" and highlighted the brotherhood as he's able to stay in touch with these Wisconsin greats and learn from the best of the best.

Next up in the opponent preview series is Rutgers' second game of the season against Boston College. This will be a very intriguing game for the Scarlet Knights for several reasons. The game will be the Eagles' annual Red Bandanna game in honor of BC alum and hero Welles Crowther and will also take place on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Rutgers also lost 37 alumni in the tragic attacks at the World Trade Center and has honored them in a previous game that took place on the anniversary of 9/11 when they defeated Syracuse 17-7 in 2021.
In addition to that, this will be Rutgers' first road game of the season, and it will be the most intriguing nonconference matchup. The Knights have been very solid against ACC competition over the past few seasons, including a 22-21 come-from-behind victory the last time they visited Chestnut Hill, opening the 2022 season.
Rutgers will suit up a former Boston College quarterback this year, as Dylan Lonergan, a former Alabama and BC signal-caller, transferred to the Knights this offseason. Whether he will take the field against his former team is to be decided, as AJ Surace and Lonergan are in a quarterback battle that is expected to last through training camp.

The LHSAA football champion with Ruston High School, 10-year NFL veteran and Colorado and Louisiana Sports Hall of Famer is the youngest of 13 children. His late mother, Louise, was his best friend while his late World War II veteran father, Oscar, was his hero.
One of the biggest lessons Brooks learned from his family was that if he wanted to be good at something, he had to give it his all. He continued giving back to his community Saturday by holding his first youth football camp at Lincoln Preparatory School.

Multiple of Brooks' family members and NFL alumni were in attendance at the camp as they look to inspire the next generation.

Duke basketball members and alumni linked up for a special Brotherhood dinner in Las Vegas as the 2026 NBA Summer League tournament began Thursday. This meeting comes not long after head coach Jon Scheyer was seen at a recent AAU basketball tournament in Vegas.
The event was riddled with current and former members of the university; most notably Scheyer, Jayson Tatum, Paolo Banchero and Cameron Boozer were in attendance. Recent rookie standouts Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel were present as well, with nearly 30 Blue Devils representing the school in total.
The university posted a photo from the get-together on their social media pages.
